The game is not complex in its mechanics or gameplay which makes it easy to pick up and play, specially for a younger audience. It has both online and local options, with 3 different modes of play: Free for All, Teams and a Single/Coop mode through 30 levels.

Not bad for its asking price of $20 but it leaves some additional modes or options to be desired if you are an older gamer.

Fun for all. Had a great time with the unlockables and I really enjoyed the sound design of the game. Very cool and can’t wait for me DLC and updates.

Super fun, especially at parties where you can play against friends. Walrus hockey was my favorite free for all battle! Such cute and clever ways to dungeon crawl and brawl!

It is an entertaining game and easy to master. It also offers some challenge at your level by incorporating bosses into the adventure.

This is a good casual game that is a lot of fun for couch multiplayer. It's a retro style gameplay where you need to have dodging skills, but in modern cute graphics. Audio is also nice with funny speech. It also fits the younger age with split screen multiplayer for up to 4, something that is very rare nowadays and deserves extra points for this alone.
I would have given this game a 10

I would have given this game a 10 if it had a campaign.

While ReadySet Heroes is at its best with friends, it’s also surprisingly sturdy as a single-player game. You can choose to play as various cartoony critters and while this choice doesn’t affect the playstyle, it would work well as a gentle introduction to the genre for younger family members. Overall it’s a decent little game, not bad for the price and there’s a decent chance your young ones will enjoy it… it’s not a terrible pick up and play for us older gamers too… but it’s definitely more geared towards the younger crowd.

The unique artistic vision behind the game deserves a tip of the hat. However, the same cannot be said for the unimaginative characters, deserted multiplayer modes and technical shortcomings.
