I was a huge fan on PES on PS1 and PS2 and I have to say that I was almost unbeatable on it (:)), but then as all PES fans I was very disappointed by the game on PS3. The freedom of play is back which was my favorite aspect. I'm just reeducating myself to the game but I'm getting really frustrated by two big aspects of the game though. The first one is that the keepers are definitely a joke! Konami didn't work at all on that aspect. Basically it's 1 shot on target = goal, almost 9/10! So as soon as you make a mistake in defense, it's a goal conceded! Then the second aspect is the computer players in your team (which you can't control) lack intelligence. When you are the player having the ball and want to give it to another player, the player almost stays still unless if it's a striker. For example if my center mid has the ball, my other center mid or my wingers barely propose solutions, I'm force to look for my strikers.
Apart from these two aspects, I think the game itself has improved a lot. One other downside I've also noticed is in the Master league where it's not realistic. For example, teams like West Ham signing Lewandoski or Southampton signing Rooney. It's way too easy to sign players. Once again I think that they have improved a lot compared to when they were on PS3 but there is still lots of room for improvement.

Not all is bad I like the graphics and the fact that we are able to import kits for unlicensed teams which makes them look better than in FIFA

I can't believe how ugly this game looks compared to FIFA 16. The gameplay is fine but the animation is not nearly as good as FIFA. But the real deal breaker is the dumbest refs ever in sports game. You cannot get carded for any fouls. You can tackle and abuse recklessly. Goalies are pretty dumb too.

Um jogo histórico, assim como Superstar soccer e os primeiros winning eleven. Trouxe de volta elementos clássicos da série e incluiu muitas novidades, tornando o game de futebol mais completo já feito.

So, we've got a new Pes here. I'll write down my experiece with it the first few days, playing on the Master League mode. Yes. On hardest mode of course. So here we start.
    - First of all, the good things. Gameplay has improved a lot, and there's a very nice feeling about how the game flows, and how easily you can build up an attack, and how nice you can control all of your players. Yes.

Gameplay has improved a lot, and there's a very nice feeling about how the game flows, and how easily you can build up an attack, and how nice you can control all of your players. Yes. Also, very nice graphics, and improved responses from the AI to your attacks (except the fact that you can still run along the side line and nobody catches you. Ever.)
    - Maybe I forgot some good facts I had in mind, but the review isn't writen about them. It's about the very bad feeling I've had while playing my Master League team (with the master league players, not the team's default players). So, first of all. Awful Goalkeepers. And when I say awful, I don't mean that they can't catch some shots they should, or something like that. I mean the whole package. They lose the ball while trying to catch it, they rush out like retards, they never catch the ball on one-on-one situations, and their reflexes are like I am the goalkeeper, not them.
After this, AI of the COM team. Yes... Just one thing. If the AI decides that it has to make a goal, you can do nothing to stop it. And I mean nothing. And before you all go like "you don't know how to defend, you can also pressure them, blah blah" believe me, I'm not new at PES, and I've got some experience on this game. The AI seems to decide when it makes a goal or not, and even if you try your hardest not to, then something "accidentaly" happens, so your player stops running, or the cursor changes the player you control, and etc. Yes, I've actually tried many times to do this, and all of them I've failed to defend when these decisions are made by the COM.
Finally, you can score your goals either on the start of the game, or at the start of the second half. the AI seems to let you score goals more often at these early minutes than any other time in the match. Beh.

My conclusion. That's not fun. And before you say anything about it, I'm not a FIFA fan, on the opposite. But this season't PES is far from what I call fun.

very catchy gameplay in the beginning but when you play for a while, you begin to feel annoyed. No fouls for obvious calls from referees means players crash and roll about like a rugby field. Overpowered shooting means you end up scoring 5-6 goals a game with ease if playing with the big teams such as Real, Barca. No penalties for blatant challenges inside the box. I mean this is a good game to play for a day or two but when you are playing on the longer run, it just doesn't feel like authentic football. That said, gameplay is better in PES while overall football experience is better in FIFA

PES started off pretty well for me, it feels great and plays great... unfortunately, as what all football games have come to in this present age, the scripting just doesn't sit well with me. Please don't deny the scripting as it is obvious! your players turn into tanks and the computer that are a lower rated team than me pass it round like barca and score on sight. So much potential wasted

If you want to play it only offline, it’s good, even though you have the rosters from 2014, no real team names, etc. But if you want to play it online, the game is like always totally different and after a few games, you just want to throw away the CD and never buy PES again.

I think konami paid a lot of money for all the good reviews this game has got. Ill start with the negatives, the ball ping pongs around in the area due to horrific computer AI and the keepers just slide around not knowing what to do! The passing is hit and miss and you may aswell just keep tapping X to get it up field with ease and forget about the power bar for sweeping it around.I think konami paid a lot of money for all the good reviews this game has got. Graphics are hit and miss, some players look amazing and others look the complete opposite of what they look like in real life! No 3D grass, no 2 v 2 online CO OP!!!! lofted through balls just magnatise to the forward no matter where the midfielder is passing from. Online is a joke with everyone using real and bare and no option to choose a like wise team.
    Positives:
The game is open and faster than a game of fifa, The edit mode is a joy as you can import proper kits and badges, although the default kits are a joke (chelsea home kit yellow and liverpool black and red stripes???) which for people who don't know where to get the kits from is a pretty poor default colour.
Shooting is more defined and you find yourself creating different types of goals although keepers are very hit and miss.
people have complained about the refs but i find they are very lenient which i like.
overall its very poor and in no way deserves the scores from the critics.

I'll start with the goalkeepers, what a joke, did konami not test them before releasing the game?
You will find that most matches will end 8-4 or some unreal scoreline.
The defending is pathetic, no skill needed here, player stats hardly matter as you will soon notice when Phil Jones catches Theo Walcott down the wing.
The Gameplay is utterly ridiculous at times.
Myclub is an attempt to challenge Fifa's ultimate team mode and fails miserably.
Master League is just a time consuming bore.
And the facial graphics sometimes seem like they were designed by a comedian.
How anyone can rate this a 10/10 is absolutely beyond me and makes me think i have purchased an entirely different game.
20th anniversary and hopefully the last because the evolution part of the title just doesn't seem to be working.

For me was the referee, this is the worst part, you can not do a nothing because is yellow card, if you see the scene again it is not, but always yellow card. Also why if someone takes the ball the other player does not react, it takes some delay because players are slow to know he is not with the ball.... so stupid gameplay

    - Barely any licenses and clubs. No Bundesliga. Alot of the bigger european teams not in the game. Don't expect to play with your favourite team if it's not in BBVA, Ligue 1 or Serie A.
    - The fake clubs (Premier League) are very poorly made. As an Arsenal supporter i don't want to see them wearing all orange.
    - Editing not an option - you'll be spending (atleast) 10-12 hours editing Premier League if you don't want fake managers and the supporters in the stand wearing pink if you are playing with Chelsea.
    - No in-game atmosphere, disappointing commentary and sound. You'll have the sound turned off after 2-3 games.
    - The menus look like something from a 90's indiegame. Ugly outdated clunky design.
    - Tutorials are horrible, for new players it's very hard to figure out how PES16 actually works. I still don't know how to bump up the Team Spirit, which is pretty important for MyClub.
    - Master League doesn't feel like managing a club, the transfer system is lackluster.
    - Almost no variety in stadiums.
    - The online gameplay is completely broken, with keepers not working properly - expect 10-12 goals a game. Not realistic at all.

When the goal of a football simulator game is to sell the fantasy and feeling of playing your favourite team, PES 16 does a horrible job. You won't get the real clubs with real emblems, kits, current rosters, real stadiums or a meaningful career mode (master league).

There have been alot of positive reviews focusing only on the gameplay, and i acknowledge that the gameplay is good - but everything else is absolutely rubbish. The game feels unfinished, maybe they will correct it after 29. oktober, but i can't wait for that.
After playing for about 20-25 hours, trying to edit the Premier League (i'm not putting that many hours into fixing a lackluster game!) i decided to sell PES16 and buy the always safe Fifa16 instead. And even though the gameplay is not as good in Fifa as PES16, it's 90% as good - unless you're a real nerd you won't notice it, everything else being miles ahead, FIFA16 is the football game to get this year.

Sorry PES - i really want you to succeed but you're still miles behind the competition. Maybe it's time for a better developer than Konami for the PES-franchise.

-the gameplay is good. Not great, but good.Nice collision system, nice animations, nice ball physics i believe it's better in the gameplay department at least than FIFA 16 in the sense that it does not feel clunky.Still room for huge improvement though.

-The ML mode is better than last year.It is not so good as FIFA's equivalent but at least it is improved in every area.Yes the transfers and the scouting system are waaaay below par and not realistic imo, but it's a step forward.
-Dynamic weather adds a nice touch to the fell of the gameday and the new camera is pretty good.
-Most of the high flying players play and feel a lot like their real life counterparts i believe that KONAMI did a better job than EA in this area.
-Edit mode is really good.If you find the right patch and the time to apply in the game you get a new dimension on the unlisensed teams.
    And now the bad...
-The licenses are a problem once again.I understand that the budget might be limited or that may be a deal between EA and the Premier League or the Bundesliga but when you name a team LONDON FC at least have the blue as the base colour,so the players that don't want to patch it up know that this team is Chelsea. Also, there are countless champioships around the world.Put some more in!!It's a same that some teams are fully licensed and some others are not, in the same competition. That goes for the international sides too.I can't get why it's so hard to have them right, proper kits and all. It's 2015 and it's nt cult anymore. It's rubbish.
-The stadiums are too few. When your main "rival" has so many stadiums you need,as a company that is, to at least try to match it.IAgain it's 2015.Twenty stadiums are too few. It's not the PS2 days when they were enough. It's a shame when FIFA has so many,PES has so few.
-The sound is way below par.Bad and repepetive commentary and the game does not do a single thing to make the player feel like he is on the pitch on the game day.Again FIFA has the edge this year on this department.
-It's easy.I am playing on the Superstar difficulty whith Rotheram and so far the cult figure of Mat Derbyshire has scored 45 goals on 30 league matches. Not to mention the other players like Bowery.(24 goals so far). Also the AI has one or two ways to attack.Once you sniff them out there is now way that you ll conceed more than one goal.
-It seems that every through ball, lofted or not, will find it's target regardless of who is passing the ball (You should see Frecklington, pure poetry..) and the AI defenders stumble or backtraking or watching stoically as the attacker nestles the ball in the back of the net.
-GKs are horrendous.I dont believe that i can add to that statement.
-BAL is underdeveloped, outdated and it seems that it found it's way in the game fro no reason.KONAMI should really look on the 2K guys and try to make something like that, instead of a bad game mode that is pretty much unchanged since it's first installment.

And that will be all.To sum it up with few words,i would say:good gameplay, good edit mode, mediocre ML and bad presentation, almost no realism, bad sound, underdeveloped BAL and lastly the rosters from the previous season without the latest transfers..This is lazyness. It seems as an unfinished product especially when your rival gets a 10/10 on this department. And a patch on 29/10 it's not going to cut it.It's pure lazyness.Excuse my english,my grammar,my spelling and i hope that you'll find this reiew helpful.I don't play on the web so i don't have a clue what mClub is or how it's played out,so the score is without the internet gaming factor.Good day to everyone.

Some reviews have stated this as being the best football game ever made. I must be playing a different game to everyone else. I even found fifa 15 more enjoyable than this, and that is probably the worst fifa title ever released. Pes 2016 has the worst defensive AI I have ever witnessed in a football game, and the passing and dribbling feels very clumsy, which has led to the game having a very arcade like feel.

After reading the positive reviews, I was really looking forward to playing this game, but I'm disappointed to say that I really hated it. If you're a pes fan and love this game, then fair enough, but it simply wasn't for me. If (similarly to me) you are new to pes, maybe try it round your mates house first

Game is terrible.... I have never played a football game with so many bad passes.... its more like pong than football... Also taking so long to update roster = konami dont know wtf they are doing. It should be called PES Last Season.

i hope Konami stop making console games for the good of humanity.

FIFA 15 was a massive let down for me, someone who loved the previous FIFA games. It felt as thoug they were not making enough progress and I wasn't having fun playing it anymore. I decided to give Pro Evo 2016 a chance after reading all the positive reviews and I was really excited to play it when I received it last week. Since then I've found that the game, while almost brilliant, is massively flawed by one or two very important failures by Konami.

I've now played around 15-20 matches across offline and online modes so I feel as though my initial impressions are based on enough time in the game.

Shooting is ridiculous. Every game is a 7+ goal thriller and this is by far the worst aspect of the game. There is no realism to it, it's out of hand and this is the number one reason why I'm not inclined to continue playing the game. Shots fly in from all angles, rarely missing the target even with low-rated players.

Tackling, in particular slide tackles, are almost always perfectly executed, even by players who have low rated tackling. I don't find this to be a gamebreaker but it isn't particularly realistic and it's not much fun either.

I could go on about the positive things because there are a number of them, as seen by the generally high scoring reviews, but I can't give this game a higher score until the shooting is fixed. It's a real shame because the game is almost there, so I hope Konami listen to feedback and address this as necessary.

Don be fooled by the high review scores this game is getting.. at first the gameplay may look great, animations may look great, collisions may be good.. but if you play more, you will realize how sloppy the game is !! the players wont even stand still for a moment, its too tough to control them will all the scripted animations.. this makes controlling the ball soo much difficult.. when youDon be fooled by the high review scores this game is getting.. at first the gameplay may look great, animations may look great, collisions may be good.. but if you play more, you will realize how sloppy the game is !! the players wont even stand still for a moment, its too tough to control them will all the scripted animations.. this makes controlling the ball soo much difficult.. when you pass, cross every place the animations will be coming, and you will never have the ball where you want.. from the outside the gameplay may look great , smooth.. in reality ball control is totally lacking..

next the licensing..i dono about others, but seriously too much less stadiums, still no premier league, no bundesliga.. even with the spanish, italian leagues the stadiums are not there.. the commentatory is downright boring.. and those who think it can be fixed using the editor well, i spend my money to play the game not spend hours on boring editing, that too with awful UI..

online connectivity is dumb.. i have to wait 10 minutes to just find a quick match.. though lags are not there, the wait time is irritating.. stay away from PES, its not better this year.. its all marketing trick by konami..

Feeling really sorry for buying this game.At first it looks promising but as i play i realize it is so bad.
The goalkeeper is useless.Almost every shoot without pressing on you its a goal.
Referee is useless . Almost no fault and cards Huge response delay in online matches. Shoot from the half as soon as you start with almost full power = congrats you just won a corner kick. Most of

Most of the players online will play passes in their own half in they got score advantage... because your team just wont press them enough to lose the ball .
Im a Pes fun since i know myself but i had more fun playing fifa 16 demo then pes 16 full

PES 2016 is a fantastic game that has clearly sent a message to it’s rival and all around the world that the series has made a comeback. Everything about the game has been tweaked and perfected when you compared this year’s game to it’s predecessor (PES 2015)

Sure, it is a game riddled with issues and raises more gripes and tantrums than a game should. But once you whittle down all the issues, bugbears and negatives, PES 2016 manages to be a wholly comprehensive footballing experience and the best available this year.

PES 2016 is a football simulation for gamers, not for football enthusiasts, because in terms of realism it falls way behind EA Sports FIFA. Pro Evo simply chose another path and doesn’t even try to convince you that what you see is an attempt to recreate the real thing. It goes back to the roots – to wonderful PES 6 – and that’s why I had so much fun with PES 2016 and fell in love with it. [11/2015, p.34]
