    I just got this game for free with the EA giveaway but I've been thinking about picking it up since launch but it was always on my back burner. I'm glad I got it because it is wacky fun class based shooter safe for young and old alike. I also enjoy that if my children are nearby they are not going to hear or see anything traumatizing. I usually prefer first person over third person but this didn't bother me past the first match. The game includes both cooperative play as well as competitive multilayer I'm not super deep into the game but I know that this game will always be a great break from the more realistic shooters I also enjoy playing.… Expand

    Plants Vs Zombies may not have the marketing budget of Destiny, Evolve or Titanfall, but make no mistakes it's the best multiplayer experience available on Next-Gen consoles. A nice, original and welcoming universe; fun for kids and adults alike. Nice cartoon graphics, very well balanced characters each with their own attribute (basically : Assault, Tank, Engineer, and Healer).     And here is what this game rocks, in Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare, developers respect gamers and you don't have to pay for any little thing in addition of the basic content. The game works with a system of stickers and with a stickershop to unlock new characters, upgrades or skins. In the gaming industry of today most of us will be afraid when reading those words, but in THIS game the system is really fair, you don't need to buy coins to unlock the best characters, just play and you'll earn enough coins to buy dozens of them. In the same spirit the game received free updates with new game mode and maps, how amazing is this nowadays ?
    With a handful of classic multiplayer modes revisited by this colourful universe the game offers quite enough content to spend a lot of quality time (I've just earned the platinum after 25 hours of gameplay and I still want more).
    It's really the best multiplayer around but I won't gave it a 10 out of 10 because there is no solo mode and that means that in a few month maybe years if the community stick with it, the servers will close and the game will have no use. It's a shame as there is clearly enough potential to do a crazy/cool/fun solo campaign.    … Expand

    This is probably the funniest game I've played in months. We've started to forget, that games are meant to be fun, only Nintendo seems to still remember it. Any game that's been out in recent years demanded something from player, you had to continuously struggle against it. Destiny is a high point of this stupid trend. But this game is not.     The plants vs zombies modern warfare is the best shooter on the PS4 in 2014! To be fair it's still the best multiplayer shooter even after Evolve. What makes it good? It's simplicite, fast pace action and interesting player progression. Each character on every side has it counter. It's easy to play and fast to learn.

    You can buy booster pack for the currency you earny in game. You can get skins for different characters, consumables and customiazation parts to change your look like hats, glases and so on.
    It's funy, very addictive and the team deathmatch is quick do you can get 3-4 matches in 30 minutes.
    Played Killzone SF, CoD AW and BF4 and to be honest PvZ Garden Warfare is the best multiplayer shooter on the PS4 and it's cheaper. Grab it play it and have fun!

    I had review it the last year. i'm not going to withdraw my opinion because is playable in playstation 4 now, but the extra modes, new characters, and new costumes give it a 8 out of 10, because is free. I hope that other games in the future use this method. free, or low price DLCs.

    This is a extremely lighthearted and original take on the generic online shooters of today. It's very user friendly and almost anyone could pick up and play this game. With the way this game looks with it's amazing graphics and funny/silly customizable characters anyone will want to play this game to.     Garden Warfare is a game I definitely would recommend for any child or adult, really anyone looking to have fun with a online shooter.

    This game is a blast to play! Its simple look and easy controls don't make it be an easy or boring game. It's addicting with a lot of variety in game-modes to play and customising and upgrading your character. Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is a very special and fun third person shooter.

    Fun, multiplayer game. Single Mode is non-existent. No pay to win dlc or microtransactions makes the game very pleasing and the classes which you can upgrade and customsize makes you keep making progress.

    Highly addictive. Many class variants and weapon upgrades to unlock. A slower paced online shooter as compared to Battlefield and Call of Duty. A safe buy for parents. Fun for all ages. Worth a buy.

    A very unique shooter that is a ton of fun. PvZ is a perfect multiplayer game for anyone who likes a little competition with a laugh. The only downside about this game is having to complete challenges to rank up instead of just earning xp to rank up. The challenges can get pretty tough.

    PvZ is definitely not a traditional shooter by any means and that is what makes it great. I found this game to be something really special. It takes the fundamentals of the played out shooter genre (which I actually am a fan of) and adds a ridiculous theme from one of my favorite mobile games.     -Fun for all ages
    -Lots of customization and character variation (4 classes per side, type variations for each class and ability)
    Peashooter and Fire Peashooter
    Allstar and Hockey player version
    -Exciting game modes=
    Team Death Match (Feels right at home)
    Garden and Graveyards (Simplified version of BF rush mode)
    Gnome Bomb (Comparable to BF Obliteration mode)
    Suburbanization (Domination)
    Taco Bandits (Kinda like CTF, Zombies try to steal a taco from plants 3 times)
    -Free Updates (The last one included the latter 2 game modes and tons of customization items)
    -Easy to play/ Not stressful
    The game was my saving grace from games like Battlefield or KZ Shadow Fall (Still play them). Honestly its hard to be mad at this game.. Sure some idiot on your team will bring the taco back towards the plants but its just so lighthearted and silly that you'll probably just laugh. I hope.
    -Everything feels very well balanced
    Whether in TDM or a completely attack and defend game mode like G&G or Taco, the game never really feels too unbalanced. One team may out rank the other round continuously win but the design of the game is very even across the board. Zombies geared to attack and plants better for defending like they are supposed to but it just works.
    -Garden Ops (Horde mode)
    This is actually a lot different from the main multiplayer and its a great change up. The goal is to survive 10 waves and escape aboard Crazy Dave's flying RV. The game is fun and really focuses on the team working together and having a good balance of classes. The amount of maps and locations within each one plus the variety of bonus waves and bosses keeps this fresh and fun.

    Cons:
    -No single player story
    I haven't been a huge fan of really any FPS story but I feel with the setting of this and the characters they could have actually made an engaging campaign. Hell you could have done two with perspectives from the zombies and plants alike.. I guess its probably better that they left it out rather then screwed it up but maybe in a sequel.
    -Garden Ops, unlike my experience in Multiplayer, can get very buggy which needs a tune up. Not always though thankfully.

    This game is some serious fun and a real change from the mundane other FPS games you might be playing. It is great for literally anyone and I would recommend it highly. Trying to not be biased and see it from all perspectives I do think this game deserves a higher score than it has. It might have a few bug issues that could be fixed but as a whole it is very well built, almost surprisingly so. Because I expect a fix to the problems in Garden Ops and that is the only bad thing in my mind this get a 10/10. Play it. Its fun.    … Expand

    We bought this game for our kids because they like FPS and on this one they can play together on the same couch at the same time.

    Except we feel misled/deceived by the PS+ requirement. Which pretty much means they can only play together (even offline) for as long as we shell out for the premium subscription. But because it wasn't, EA has created a pester-power monster in my living room and I'm having to teach my kids about the sneaky tricks companies pull to gouge money out of ordinary folks and talk them into returning the purchase.

    Great graphics, various classes with many characters variations. Very, very addictive!
    If you haven't played yet, do yourself a favor and give it a try! It really worth it!
    Can't wait to play more, when I'm back from work!

    This game is just fun. It's addicting and doesn't get boring as fast as I thought it would. I would give it a 10 but lack of single player modes make not worthy of a 10. I wish there was a a slit screen or single player mode in which you can play as a zombie. I recommend this game to people who like to have fun

I loved Plants Vs Zombies 1 & 2 on mobile/console and when I saw this, I knew it was going to be good. It's a very stable online 3rd person shooter and boy is it fun. 4 characters with unique customization makes this game a blast. Also the achievements and all the free content EA gave out wasI played this game when it first came out and it was one of my most anticipated launch of 2013!     Well what can I say about this game except it is mindless fun. The game is all about having fun, and it is totally different from COD or Battlefield. It takes from Gears of War TPS and keeps its innocence w/ it's stay to Plants v Zombies. All in all you should buy this game.

    Despite having a microtransaction scheme is not something mandatory, all can be enabled with playing time.

    I, like another person here, have to give this game a score of 0. Partially for the same reason. I agree that it is irritating to have to shell out for the online feature when I've already payed for the game; especially since the game has offline 2-player co-op that cannot be accessed without logging in. Yet, the most irritating aspect of my purchase of this game is that, even though the only mention of any age limit on the online store is the Pegi-7 logo, the game cannot be played on a sub account with a user that is below the age of 16. A game so obviously marketed towards a younger crowd cannot be played young teens (16 here in Sweden, but 13 in a lot of other countries, depending on local laws). The limit is not the fault of Sony or EA since it's based on local laws for online games, but the fact that they do not state this is their fault. My complaint and score is not for the quality of the game itself as I have yet to be able to play, at all. So if you have kids that have sub-accounts don't bother buying the game. Otherwise just be aware that you'll have to buy a subscription to PS+, even to get to the offline mode.… Expand

Sure, there are quite a few fun game modes in this Call of Duty parody, but it can get boring after hours of playing. But after putting a few hours in, you'll be an unstoppable force on the garden battlefield. I guess that's what I love and hate about this game. For a multiplayer game, it is far too easy once you get the hang of it. This is the first game that I have ever gotten a fifteen player kill streak in. I didn't even think that was possible unless your were cheating or just really pro. But it seems that all it takes is a little practice, a few ability unlocks, and a lot of noobs. So I wouldn't exactly call it a fair game. The character customization is cute, and I like that you can unlock different characters as well, but if ranks were a factor in the lobby matchmaking, then that would make it more enjoyable and challenging. I find little pleasure in killing the same person ten or more times because they are less equipped than me, but if you do, then knock yourself out. Literally.… Expand

My two boys old enough to play (5 and 7) have not stopped playing this game. They absolutely love it and I love being able to play this game with them.

    The 4 main type of plants or zombies that you can choose from can then be customised and different varieties of each are available providing great replay appeal.

    The game is clearly aimed at a younger audience which considering it was launched soon after the next gen hardware launched was maybe why it didn't sell too well at retail. Consider that most people that buy into next gen hardware are adults with disposable income and not children.

    However this game really is worth getting, chargeable extras in the game (coins) are very reasonably priced which you then spend on sticker packs (again highlighting that this is aimed at a younger audience) which work a little like a football world cup sticker book in that you need all the stickers related to a plant to then get that character in the game.

    Areas to improve....
    split screen is limited to only 1 mode so my 2 kids can't play the main campaigns together although you can choose to do this solo or online with friends so i can't see why they left out a local split screen option.

    multiplayer modes restricted to team deathmatch, survival/horde mode and multiplayer campaigns.

    overall however this is a solid game and most importantly has enabled the family to play together. now where are those brainzzzzz!    … Expand

I bought the game at launch just to try it out because i thought the gameplay looked interesting. The game is worth 40 dollars and everyone who has not at least tried the game needs to rent or preferably buy it.     PVZ GW is just a fun game, nothing more. Of course it being an EA game there are a few server issues but it's still a good time. Pick it up and kill some plants or zombies.

    I absolutely love this game, and I want so badly to give it a 10 , it's perfect in every way, just a little lacking in content, sure there is a ton of customization items and variances, but from only 8 characters, and about just as many maps. Despite that fact it doesn't get old surprisingly it's just plain fun, and as many have said addicting.     The zombies are actually humorous and so are the costumes that you can put on them. This game feels new and fresh. Even as a 19 year old in college, I have a lot of fun in this game and it is very addicting! Although I feel like the card packs that you can get with in-game currency are just a *tad* pricy. Other than that, this game plays and looks great!

    I got this game in hopes of transitioning my wife from her Plants vs. Zombies 2 addiction on the iPad into the world of online shooters (so she can farm for me on Destiny). I had high hopes cause she was pretty excited. Her excitement faded with she realized all you do is go from match the match doing the same thing over and over. When she told me I remember saying it can't be that bad. But she was right the game feels empty, and the shooting is frustrating. The score for this is 7.6. The same as Destiny! A game that was universally panned for not having enough content. How did this game get reviewed so well? Sure you can unlock other plants, but the plants are pretty much the same plants just a different color. It's a real bummer. At least package the original Plants Vs. Zombie app with the game to give it some legs!

    At it's most fun it's an average game. At it's worst, it struggles to find matches, and the matches you do get into are half full. We got this game to have fun and play together (which it says you can do on the box) but the only mode you can do that in is a boring "kill wave after wave" survival mode. That's not fun at all.

    We tried to give the game to our 9 and 10 year old nephews and they told us we could keep it after only playing a few rounds! That's crazy right?

    A very fun game. I like the art-style and all the classes, each class has distinct power and ability which make all of them valid. the game modes are good and fun. My wife and I have a great time with this game. However, the split screen gets boring after a few tries. The match making is totally off balance. the hit detection sometimes feels way off. all in all, a decent game for fun time

    This game is surprisingly great! Smooth graphics, fun gameplay, responsive controls, lots of content, game modes and so on. You can play co-op, you can play versus multiplayer, and it's just a whole lot of fun. There's no reason to NOT try out this game. If you need a shooter to play and you are bored of your usual dude-bro titles, then this will be a fine pick for you.

    This game is surprisingly fun and very balanced. I only purchased this game because I was looking for something to keep me occupied before Destiny came out and its been such a surprise. The ONLY issue with this game is the lack of maps, if you play alot. However they are constantly releasing new DLC and will have more maps in the future.     Endless fun. This game is as goofy and colorful as can be with the mechanics to match. I'm incredibly glad this game exists amongst the myriad photorealistic FPSs. I absolutely love the art style. The cosmetic customization is hilarious with innumerable options. It's hands-down one the best games I've ever played.

    **Sometimes-awkward matchmaking

    My wife and I love playing this game, but mostly we just wish we could play together on one system. The single local split-screen mode is a tease, and only serves to make us wish there was more.     A TPS aimed for younger kids, but teenagers can play too! Though a bit expensive in my opinion if you buy it for the normal price but I've got it for free on my PS4 so can't complain. Lots of game modes and cosmetics (seriously, loads!!!).

    I honestly feel like this game is more for people who enjoy online games but can't get into games like battlefield or call of duty. It's very easy to get into and the overall design of the game is very kid friendly. And yes, you need PlayStation plus to play this game (seriously, why is this a surprise? Sony said it many times that you need to pay to play online.)

    I had it for free on PS Store, it's funny to play with some friends for a few hours, but i would never pay more than 10€ for PvZ GW. Don't buy it without viewing some gameplay videos.

    This is a very fun and entertaining game. The downfall is that it needs work. The servers are very unstable. You will not be able to connect or experience severe lag half the time. Very disappointing, put some work into your product to make it actually playable.

    Highly addictive game. Thought the basic characters are gonna get boring but you get more and more unlocked characters as you play the game. Every character changes your gameplay and brings your interest more into the game.

    This game is remarkable for the shear fact that it's made by EA and isn't terrible. I played this so much. There are extremely varied character classes, all of which I enjoy playing as. This is a great game.

    The game is a rip of. You need PS Plus to continue, which stinks because I'm not asking my parents for PS Plus which only lasts a year. I wish it was unlimited. Also, the walkthrough was good.

    Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare has put an interesting spin on shooters around the world. This game is very unique and enjoyable. The awesome cartoon-like graphics are very entertaining and definitely make you want to play the game a lot more. This is especially good if you have children. The only downside is like most shooters, it gets very boring after a while.

    The characters are cute and the gameplay is hilarious for most of the time.
    I have reached level 100 before I really moved on to another game and I think this is my favorite online PVP shooting game so far.

    Great FPS- First Person Shooter. Lots of mods so that you can customize your character and the sticker packs are a great way to add an element of chance and a good remand for the coin reward system. Great to play with your kids, it'll stay entertaining and you can show off different characters, teach them to budget etc.

Such a fun, charmful and lovely designed game, which I played hundreds of hours with my friends, but tragically, they ruined it with not balancing the characters.     Part 1: game modes: the first game mode is garden ops, in this mode you have to defend your lovely garden from 10 waves, or endless if you do co-op, of zombies. Pretty self explanatory.
    The second-fourth game mode is welcome mat, team vanquish and classic team vanquish,
    Welcome mat is team vanquish, but every kill or death you get, you get more health!
    Team vanquish is a mode where you and your fellow plant/zombies friends try to get 50 vanquishes! Classic team vanquish is literally team vanquish but only starter classes.
    Garden and grave yards is a mode where you capture a plant or zombie base by standing in it, and in the last base there’s ether a golf ball you gotta push, denoting bombs, or shooting a giant sun flower! :subrnation is kinda like capture the flag but you don’t bring a flag to your base. Vanquish confirmed is like team vanquish, but you gotta collect dead tokens from knocked players to ad vanquishes. Part 2: plant abilities:
    Pea shooter can shoot out a chili bean bomb that acts like an gernade, his pea gatling is like a minigun, but you can’t move with it. And the most annoying ability in the WHOLE entire game, hyper. I will explain at the end of this review. Chomper has spike weeds to trap zombies in to swallow them easily. He can burrow under ground to ether get to a place faster or eat a zombie from under. He also has goop that makes zombies a lot more slower, one flaw about the chomper is that he can easily get knocked down by stun gernades, and can’t swallow an engineer in a jack hammer.
    :sun flower: sun flower can heal people and herself with the heal beam and the sun flower pot. She has a beam ability kinda like how pea shooter has one. Cactus is a sniper plant that can send out a drone, potato mines, and wall nuts for protection.: chapter 3: zombie ability’s: foot soldier has a jet rocket to make you get to high roofs, and a rpg shooty thing to easily knock out plants. Engineer can use a jack hammer to get to places faster, and can build a teleporter!
    Scientist can teleport and heal team mates, and place little mines to blow up plants.
    All star can use a blocking thingy like wall nuts, he can do a powerfull charge and a imp bomb!
    Chapter four: variants: variants are different types of classes In the game. The variants are: fire: electric: toxic, auto and semi.
    Each plant atleast has one of these. ——SKIP TO THIS PART IF YOU WANT A FULL ON PART REVIEW Chapter 5: full honest opinion: this game can be quite fun! Especially getting kill streaks, or playing modes with your friends for like 5 hours. The only flaw is that now, servers are not to active so modes like vanquish confirmed, gnome bomb are not to active. And annoying ways people play as characters. Such as pogo peas, there a pain in the ass if your on zombies team. They constantly bunny hop to not get targeted, and if the hyper is done, they run for there dam life. Plus, the ranking system is pretty bad so it could take years to get to 313. Ignoring those flaws, this would be a 10/10 game. I think it’s a 8.5.    … Expand

    Quite fun for what it is, classes are distinct and varied, if not a bit simplistic and unbalanced. Graphics are decent enough and controls work fine. There are better FPS games out there, but you could do much worse.

    The pinnacle of 3RD Person Shooters.
    Multiple unique characters with their own unique abilities, paired with several different variants of each character adds endless replayability.
    Several different gamemodes and tons of cosmetics.
    So much more content at release than most other AAA games that release today.
