Not as good as Persona 5, obviously but after a few hours and you getting how it works, it becomes just about as addictive but very shallow by comparison, some big moments for the new characters carry the story

Wow, it's one of the betters RPG games I ever touched, perfect combat, an interesting lore, the only thing that I don't like is the ending, the final boss it's easy and you can kill that God in 5-7 minutes

A worthy sequel to an incredible Persona 5. Builds up on the connection you made with all the characters of the base game. The gameplay is a great break from the usual turn based battle system. Highly recommend but only after playing Persona 5 or Persona 5 Royal

P5S is pretty much more persona 5 but now the gameplay is super boring. The story is really good though.

Expand

    Pros
    - combat is a fun mix of Dynasty Warriors with that sweet Persona twist
    - the Phantom Thieves are an excellent cast that returns in full force - the new characters are a fun addition that plays well off of the cast - all of your teammates have unique quirks to spice up the combat making them all feel different from each other - the story is a fun twist on the original Persona 5,

    - the new characters are a fun addition that plays well off of the cast
    - all of your teammates have unique quirks to spice up the combat making them all feel different from each other
    - the story is a fun twist on the original Persona 5, wrapped around a summer roadtrip

    Cons
    - in the beginning, the game gives you an illusion of the Persona time management gameplay, but time only moves forward when you reach certain story points so you can leave and reenter the Jails (this games version of the Palaces) as many times as you want in a single day
    - the bond points - if you are going for the platinum - are few and far between and the grind for the max level is painfully long

Strikers is a fantastic continuation of the story that Persona 5 told. Notice Persona 5, not Royal, as there is no mention of the extra characters added by Royal. What Strikers excels at is giving you that nostalgic feeling of a roadtrip with friends you spent over a hundred hours in the original game.

The combat is based off of the Dynasty Warriors franchise, aka you fight hordes and hordes of enemies with simple combos and insanely effective abilities. Frankly, it is impressive how well the turn based Persona franchise lends itself to this style. This is one of the smoothest transitions I have ever seen.

What helps is that every member of the Phantom Thieves has a unique set of perks and abilities that allow them to feel distinct from each other. Ryuji gets a lot of poise allowing him to take advantage of delaying his attacks for devastating damage. With Haru, you can hold the final button of any of her combos to extend them. Yusuke taps his buttons for extra hits on his attacks, allowing him to shred the armor of any enemy with fast criticals.

The new additions play well with the established cast and one of them even beats some of the original thieves in how much I like them.

Story is no slouch either, paralleling the original game with a fun twist on the Palace/Jail, Ruler/Monarch system. The villains themselves being dark mirrors of the cast is a fun little detail that allows the old cast to shine again in this game.

And all of this is done to the banging rock renditions of the original jazzy OST. I have nothing but love for the original so hearing the change was scary in the first couple of minutes, but the choice then immediately grew on me, given the more action oriented style of the game.

In conclusion, Strikers is a fantastic game and a worthy continuation of the original story, showing us the original cast years later in their lives, following up with what they learned during the original game. Persona 5 being one of my favorite JRPGs I am shocked that Strikers followed it so successfully.

LISTEN!! I am not saying that Persona 5 Strikers is a bad game, but it is not as good as the original, but ESPECIALLY Royal. It had a lot of potential to be a great sequel with new characters, new palaces, and being more like a “Warriors” game, but my biggest complaint is that it focuses on the aftermath of the original P5 ending, instead of Royal’s ending which is perfect.

boring battle system, wonderful art direction, majestic ost and normal plot

Juegazo infravalorado.

Omega Force’s crossover between Persona and the Warriors series is a breath of fresh air for both franchises. It’s not a revelation by any means and not a great sequel to Persona 5 in terms of the story, but despite rather uninteresting content in between missions and the scantiness of additional activities, it’s a good, varied game that’s simply enjoyable. Regardless of the issues I had, Persona 5 Strikers is still a fantastic sequel, Persona game, and Musou game. It really is impressive the amount of content they jammed into this game, and the fact that they added way more to the mechanics than I thought they would was a great breath of fresh air. Musou fans will get a ton of enjoyment out of this title and fans of Persona 5 have their sequel that is most certainly worthy of the title.

Sadly, Persona 5 Strikers has some value only for the fans of original Persona 5. For others it will prove to be an odd mix of a dull visual novel with a pretty average musou game. [Issue#252, p.56]
