    My Favorite game of all time

    I Recommend EVERYONE to play this game it is a masterpiece. The music is amazing, the characters are amazing and the story and game play is amazing every thing is perfect. The third semester is amazing.

    Even though it is only an enhanced version for the vanilla version. I still have a wonderful experience after playing this game. Personally, the additional confidants, stories, and features completes the original game, and it gives me more satisfying feeling than the original one. For me, this is the one of the best games I have ever played.

    I obtained the platinum trophy of this game yesterday. And I can only say that was "AWESOOOOME!!!".
    This game has huge differences between the original, especially to the end. I cried again with the end of my favourite game, hahaha

    The original 2017 release was already one of my favourite games of all time; in a series that previously raised the bar for JRPGs. With the new release, I was mildly sceptical about the idea of adding in new characters to a preexisting narrative without it feeing awkward and forced.     Where to begin with this? This game is one that I wholeheartedly believe every PS4 owner should get their hands on. It has a unique story that tackles serious subject matter, a cast of lovable characters that you will miss after the credits roll, and a soundtrack that will never leave your head. P5R fixes a lot of issues the original P5 had, making it the ultimate Persona 5 experience. IWhere to begin with this? This game is one that I wholeheartedly believe every PS4 owner should get their hands on.     I can't believe it, but they made it. They made Persona 5 even better in every aspect of the game. The soundracks added are amazing. Complete JRPG game I would recommend even for the people that despise the genre, and I'm sure they'd enjoy it as much as I did. Worth it.

    I loved this game to death when it came out and I still do. While it has fallen from its #1 spot (or really just depending on the day), I loved Persona 5 as well but Royal really cemented it as it brought me back to the great characters that inhabited Persona 5.

He and his future friends then use this power to become Phantom Thieves that steal the hearts of corrupt adults to change society.

    As for the gameplay, it follows standard RPG format. Combat is turn-based battles where you can use your Personas to attack enemies and exploit their weaknesses for fun combat. The menus for your actions that you can perform are all heavily stylized, which makes getting into combat worth it just to see them. Outside of combat, you live the life of a Japanese high schooler. You have free time throughout the days to hang out with your friends, go to school, work at jobs, or improve your social skills. Doing those things helps you when you are a phantom thief. They can give you special bonuses or abilities that makes your job of reforming society easier.

    In my opinion, this game is worth every cent, probably even more, that you spend on it. I love that the plot gives you a great feeling of actually reforming society and keeping you on your toes for doing the right thing. The combat and phantom thief gameplay are really satisfying and allow you to approach situations in many different ways. The daily life gameplay acts as a nice counterbalance to the other parts of the game and gives you great character interactions and a really good reason to care about the world you are trying to save.

    tldr; the game is near, if not already, perfect and I would highly recommend anyone with a PS4 to get it.    … Expand

    Honestly, this game deserves game of the year.
    You take an incredible game (Persona 5) and essentially turn it into a director's cut with a lot of new content and changes that make the game overall more enjoyable. If you had any issues with vanilla Persona 5, they are most likely resolved in Royal.
    Overall, fantastic game, deserves all the praise it is getting.

    It is exactly what i wanted ...a turn based rpg with a lot of charm and an insane story....i bought the game twice with the previous ine and im gonna play Persona 4 golden on Vita aswell...
    The Japan aspect in this game is existent but not to much....totally appropiate !

    Due to this new version of Persona 5, I can now proudly claim that it is my favorite game of all time along with Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 Golden. Any minor issues I had with the original P5 couldn't have possibly ruined my overall experience with the game, however, Royal manages to fix these minor issues and even adds more to the game.

    Some additions that I feel are noteworthy    Due to this new version of Persona 5, I can now proudly claim that it is my favorite game of all time along with Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 Golden. Any minor issues I had with the original P5 couldn't have possibly ruined my overall experience with the game, however, Royal manages to fix these minor issues and even adds more to the game.

    Some additions that I feel are noteworthy Include:
    -A new story ark and dungeon after the events of the original game, which gives a satisfying conclusion to the Phantom Thieve's struggles. (You need to meet certain in-game conditions to access)
    -Reworking of previous dungeons and Mementos.
    -The additions of "Traits", which are special passive abilities to each persona, and the "Fusion Alarm" system both add to the already addicting fusing system of the Persona and SMT series.
    - More enemy variety throughout the game
    - Extra challenging bosses that you can attempt to fight and come in the form of "Challenge Battles" in the velvet room. (Most are DLC though)
    - Changes and polish to battle mechanics
    - Faster battle results screen ^^'
    - All new soundtrack arrangements are amazing.

    These are just to name a sum of the additions that make purchasing Persona 5 Royal a worthwhile investment to make for RPG fans : ). I recommend that fans of RPGs play the game on Hard mode to get the most out of the experience.    … Expand

    Maravillosa versión pulida, mejorada y con historia y más cosas extras de un J-RPG que de por si ya era de lo mejor de la década, platinado y completados todos los desafíos de la guarida de los ladrones fantasma, 3 partidas en un mes y aún tengo ganas de jugarlo más. Además, te da la oportunidad de acceder al final del juego original, por lo que, si no lo compraste en su momento, tambienMaravillosa versión pulida, mejorada y con historia y más cosas extras de un J-RPG que de por si ya era de lo mejor de la década, platinado y completados todos los desafíos de la guarida de los ladrones fantasma, 3 partidas en un mes y aún tengo ganas de jugarlo más.     Persona 5 Royal is one of, if not the, best JRPGs ever made. Having platinumed the original Persona 5 two years ago, I went into persona 5 royal hoping for slight changes to gameplay that would essentially make it a better replaythrough. There are so many minor changes throughout the game that make the characters feel more alive, or fix even the smallest issues that I had with the basePersona 5 Royal is one of, if not the, best JRPGs ever made. Having platinumed the original Persona 5 two years ago, I went into persona 5 royal hoping for slight changes to gameplay that would essentially make it a better replaythrough. There are so many minor changes throughout the game that make the characters feel more alive, or fix even the smallest issues that I had with the base game, such as completely overhauling the mementos mega dungeon, that made me thoroughly enjoy replaying through the game. If that was all there was to the game, I would agree with many of the people on this website leaving disgruntled reviews that this game is not worth $60 to someone who has played the base game. I think there is some validity in that the game maybe should cost less to those who payed for the base game and that areas like Okumura's palace were not truly fixed; however, the third semester content utterly shocked me in how well both the characters and situations were written. Without going into any spoilers, Persona has managed has managed to make me completely rethink my concepts of Justice and the idea of moving towards the future. Thematically, royal just works. I personally thought the original ending felt lackluster and the characters' behaviors didn't really make logical sense after all they had been through together, but with the changes made in royal, I believe the ending is actually the BEST portion of the entire game now. Finally, I want to end my review by talking about the music. Persona 5 already had an insanely beautiful soundtrack, potentially the best of 2017, had Nier;Automata not also come out that same year. Somehow, they made that soundtrack even better with absolute bangers like "I Believe" in combination with the more emotional "僕らの光." I don't think that this game is for everyone, but I Believe the level of care and quality present in this game is so rare and worth paying attention to that it should shine as the Pinnacle of both modern JRPG gameplay and storytelling.     If you already played the first game this is not going to be a 100% new game but you can really enjoy the game more just because of the little e medium changes on the characters and game. And if you never played then this is a 10/10 game to play

    This is definetely the best game I have ever played. A significant improvement from persona 5, I have spent 150+ hours and still want to play way more.
    The last arc of the story was the best one, somehow beating the last persona 5 arc. It was extremely good storywise, and very emotional.
    It's the best JRPG out there without a doubt, and a must play.

    This was my first Persona´s game and I’m sure that I made one of the best purchases of my life. It is an amazing game with a cool playing system in which each day in the game counts. How do you spend your time in the game is crucial to develop the main character.
    The battle system is easy to play but really deep and difficult to master. The variety of Personas is huge and each one of the have their own features and designs.
    The plot is really interesting and captivating, especially in the last parts of the game, when it gets more dynamic.
    By last, the main characters and the confidants have a great development (most of them) and do you really have the feeling of empathise and grown up with them.
    The Phantom Thieves have stolen my heart with this game. It was an incredible journey and now I am waiting for the next chapter.    … Expand

    Persona 5 Royal allows players to experience the story they already love in a new way without losing any of the beauty from the original game. New and old characters get their chance to shine through and steal your heart, even the ones you never expected to. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and maybe you’ll even feel a sense of justice for the infamous Phantom Thieves in the end. But one thing you won’t feel is regret in picking up Persona 5 Royal, as it’s truly the best Persona title, if not one of the best video games, I’ve ever experienced to date.

    This is not more of the same, this is not an optional add-on to the original game. This, my friends, is the perfect experience, down to the last letter, down to the last minute. Persona 5 Royal is a Japanese crown jewel.

    All of the new additions and content mean that Persona 5 Royal is a clear upgrade to the original. New players should seek this version without hesitation, although vets may find starting the game over from scratch to be too big an ask. Either way, there’s no doubt that Persona 5 Royal sits proudly on the throne of Peak Persona… or at least it will until Atlus decides they can do even more with it.
