    It's an enjoyable Free-to-Play Hero Shooter with 3 modes; The main one being capturing the objective and then pushing it to the enemy base, the second one focusing solely on pushing the objective, and the last one being typical point-based deathmatch. It's all pretty standard.

It's all pretty standard.
    Some time ago there was also a survival mode where everyone had just one life, but they removed it for some reason. What it already has is decent enough, but it could use some more varied ways to play and have fun.
    There's no real lore or story here, unlike other popular Hero Shooter/Moba games, just some one-liners and jokes to give the colorful cast some character.
    But it doesn't need any, in this type of game, it's all about characters and gameplay.
    The characters are hit and miss, but that's just my opinion. They all offer something unique to the table and are fun to play with (Unique in regards to this game and its characters. You will find a lot of parallels between Paladins and Overwatch or TF2.)
    There are also plenty of maps to play with and much more to come (with the being available to players for testing, which is a nice idea, involving the playerbase into some part of the creation of the game.) all of them being colorful and generally well designed.

    Of course, there are still a lot of glitches and broken elements present, but it's understandable as it is still in the Open Beta, and the developers are constantly working on it, throwing in patches after patches, changes, and new content.
    It's amazing to see. Especially recently, when they were introducing new Champion every single month.

    But then, Cards Unbound happened...
    A new patch that basically threw away the unique loadout system that differentiated it from the other Hero Shooters, allowing the player a lot of customization of Hero's abilities to suit their playstyles while still being balanced, which was easily the best part of this game...
    And instead they put in a system that not only removed all the balance from the game modes where the vast majority of players are, but also turned the grind up to eleven, making it really annoying for the old players, horrible for the new ones, and more Pay-to-Win than it was ever before (and the funny thing is, they've decided it was a good idea to announce it right after the StarWars Battlefront 2 afair,) pretty much forcing the players to use what they get from lootboxes rather than building the loadout they want... so they wouldn't get destroyed all the time by players that have all their cards maxed out without any limits.

    To be fair... I didn't really test those changes for myself, so it may be that I misunderstood some mechanics of it, but in any way, it's blatantly obvious what they're trying to do.
    It's really sad and disappointing, which is why I won't be giving it any more of my time despite the game being fun.    … Expand

    Paladins was a fun and fast game, but ever since the inclusion of Terminus and the change of the card system the game has progressively gone downhill. Although I adapted pretty easily to the new card system; a Terminus on the enemy team has made it so that he is a must pick for your team to counter him, or your team has to pick a Torvald to directly counter Terminus. Overall the game wasPaladins was a fun and fast game, but ever since the inclusion of Terminus and the change of the card system the game has progressively gone downhill.     Paladins la verdad que proponia ideas interesantes, pero algunas de ellas muy mal planteadas, y es una pena porque la base del juego era buena e interesante. Básicamente es un shooter genérico accesible (esto ultimo si esta bien) inspirado bastante en juegos como Team Fortress 2, Overwatch y la base del competitivo de League Of Legends. Al empezar el juego te muestran un tutorial bastantePaladins la verdad que proponia ideas interesantes, pero algunas de ellas muy mal planteadas, y es una pena porque la base del juego era buena e interesante. Básicamente es un shooter genérico accesible (esto ultimo si esta bien) inspirado bastante en juegos como Team Fortress 2, Overwatch y la base del competitivo de League Of Legends. Al empezar el juego te muestran un tutorial bastante inútil, y aquí mi primera queja: El tutorial no te explica como va el sistema de cartas, el de habilidades, etc. Para el que no esta acostumbrado a esta clase de juegos, la interfaz es algo confusa en el menu principal, pero al menos la interfaz en el juego en si es cómoda y no molesta para nada, eso si que es accesible y todos los botones que uno tiene que tocar a la hora de jugar para hacer determinado ataque te los podes acordar si usas un personaje en particular. Ahora al empezar una partida, tenes para elegir entre 3 modos de juego, cosa que me parece muy poco. Estos son el tipico Team Deathmatch, el tipico modo conquista y el modo de arrastrar un carrito de mineria que de aca si que se lo copiaron de Team Fortress 2. Hablando de las partidas online en si, tengo que agradecer que... como ya dije, es un juego muy accesible y las partidas son bastante disfrutables al principio, terminan bastante rápido, etc. La verdad que en la base que intenta transmitir la jugabilidad esta bastante bien, y te van dando dinero (aunque es muy poco) y experiencia. Hablando de la experiencia, esta muy desaprovechado, ya que no sentís una sensación de progreso dentro del juego, simplemente vas desbloqueando cosméticos, pero no podes mejorar al personaje de ninguna manera, mas alla de la habilidad o de la carta equipada, que vuelvo a repetir el juego no te explica nada de como funciona y son muy pocas. Ademas de que el juego abusa excesivamente de los micropagos, en una partida obtienes 200 monedas aprox... o menos, y los objetos cuestan mas de 30000 monedas, por lo que tenes que estar jugando 10 horas o 20, para comprar una skin mediocre. No me quejaría de los micropagos si estuvieran bien implementados dentro del juego. Ahora hablemos un poquitito de los gráficos... Valgame dios, los gráficos son bastante mediocres para ser un juego de la PS4 del año 2017. Team Fortress salio en el PS3 en el año 2007 y se ve un millón de veces mejor. Lo unico que puedo destacar de los gráficos es el diseño artístico de algunos personajes como Moji o Ruckus, pero aun así siguen palideciendo por el año en el que fue lanzado el TF2 y encima este siendo superior en todos los aspectos. Ademas, si bien Moji y Ruckus me gustan bastante su diseño, al final es un desperdicio puesto que no tiene modo historia, y me van a decir ustedes: Pero es un juego gratuito!!! A lo que les respondo: Gems Of War es otro juego gratuito de la PS4 y hace todo lo que Paladins no hace. Y siguiendo con la jugabilidad en si, las clases están bastante desbalanceadas, con personajes en el online como Moji o Viktor siendo muy débiles y haciendo poquísimo daño aun sabiéndolos usar, ademas de que las partidas se vuelven repetitivas, ya que como dije no desbloqueas mucho y son 3 modos de juego, los mapas son bastante chiquitos y no hay nada de exploración. Luego tengo que hablar de la implementacion de los "Mixer Points", la cual me parecio pesima, que te hagan ver directos por mas de 80 horas solo para ganar skins. Y por ultimo los glitches... La verdad que no me lo explico... Una cosa es que el juego se te congele una vez por mes, puede pasar, pero este juego se me crasheo 3 veces en tan solo una semana! Suerte que a veces al iniciar el juego de vuelta te vuelven a mandar a la misma partida automáticamente. En resumen, Paladins puede llegar a ser divertido por su accesibilidad y algunos personajes interesantes, al menos en su diseño; para pasar el rato diría yo. Pero como juego en si, deja que desear en muchísimos apartados, siendo una copia descarada mas que Overwatch como decían muchos, en Team Fortress 2, y ya TF2 tenia sus fallos, así que este imagínense los que debe de tener. Esperemos que con las siguientes actualizaciones, Paladins mejore como videojuego en general, o en una secuela puedan darle a Moji y a Ruckus la historia que se merecen realmente.… Expand

    Whenever they launch new characters, they come with too much Overpower, which gives a lot of advantage to the team that has it.

    Paladins is a game where it looks good on the surface but it starts coming apart at the seams. It's cartoon look, large roster, and different game modes offer a variety of play styles yet it doesn't matter due to it's lousy hit detection, subpar character loads, and horrible latency issues.

    Only about half the roster is actually playable, as others have a similar load but underperform in the same roles. Tyra, for example, fills a similar role as Cassie yet completely outperforms her in every way. Cassie's ultimate is a passive for Lex. The same goes for Ghrok, which cannot fill the role as a support by himself, yet plays very similarly to Ying, which can easily solo support a group. There are at least a half dozen heroes that rarely ever get played, most of them being launch heroes, with newer heroes simply outperforming them.

    Latency is a huge issue in Paladins. Multiple times during a match, i could not find any heroes on screen, allies or enemies. I tested this with a second PS4 and a friend - they could see me on their screen but I couldn't see them or visa versa. It's frustrating to not effectively group up, focus fire, or heal due to the server not communicating with each client. Also, kill screens will constantly show heroes shooting the ground or complete misses for a kill, abilities used that didn't happen during gameplay, or not show abilities you triggered that should have saved you in a fight.

    Hit detection is horrible for an FPS. Bullets and other projectiles can be significantly off the mark and yet registers as a hit. Headshots (tested in the practice range area) can be off as much as a full head and still register as a hit, depending on the projectile. Some abilities are the exact opposite, as pinpoint accuracy is needed to register a hit. Even some of the environment can be shot through (including parts of the payload). Trial and error is the only way to know what you can and cannot do with specific heroes.

    Not even going to start on MMR in competitive, as it's a joke mode that needs significant grinding for the same game, except you get a random number. One match, you get paired with competent players on both sides (most of the group at 4000+), the next you get people that don't understand basic group concepts, such as healing, objectives, etc. (Sub 3500 rating). No rhyme or reason for it.

    Overall, Paladins neither brings anything new to the genre, yet misses on some of the very basics of a hero shooter - bland, similar characters, horrible latency, and boring maps. Save yourself the grief and spend the money on an FPS that gets the basics right.    … Expand

    A nice multiplatform game, unfortunately Hi-Rez is going to abandon it and it's user base with OB64 by putting content behind a paywall and ignoring community requests about fix and balancing. They did the same with Global Agenda in the past, look it up on google, and they are ignoring a 7500+ petition on change.org about NOT implementing the broken system they have come up with in OB64.A nice multiplatform game, unfortunately Hi-Rez is going to abandon it and it's user base with OB64 by putting content behind a paywall and ignoring community requests about fix and balancing.     Theres a great deal of variety in character select, currently 28 champions total..
    The game gives you 8 of the 28 from the start... its up to you to unlock the other 20 and unlock other perks and cosmetics along the way…
    The gun play here is great.. There’s a damage class, frontline, flank, and support…
    my favorites being damage and flank… The other 2 I just couldn’t get to work for me in the given game modes
    Each champion has their own set of special attacks with cool downs…
    and one super move you can unleash once you’ve accumulated enough damage
    and there are in games boosts and perks in the form of cards that you purchase throughout the match with the currency you get as you work on completing objectives…
    You can change your card loadout and unlock new cards from chests that you’ll get naturally as you play the game…
    And this is a free to play so of course there are chests focused more on character cosmetics that can only be bought with crystals... and you earn crystals by logging into the game consistently or just buying them of course... you can unlock champions with these crystals as well…
    or you can just grind for them…
    And this is where the free to play model hurts this game
    champions cost 5000 coins to unlock…
    from matches you’re going to get about 200-400 coins..
    meaning it’s going to take around 15-25 matches minimum to unlock just one character…
    or about 4 and a half hours…
    you’re looking at around 120 hours to unlock every character in this game…
    There is not even close to enough content here… not interesting enough maps, not a variety of enough maps.. Not fun enough match structure to make that 120 hour grind worth it…
    And it’s a shame because again the gunplay is so good...
    im either really great at this game which I doubt or the game is so accessible that it can make anyone feel great at it..
    I had fun playing with the different champions…
    but even after only a few hours I was already tired of the maps as the objectives are always at the same spot, require hardly any tactics and the maps are so small that you’ll get to these points on your sweet stallion in a few gallops…
    which I do appreciate…
    the siege mode in particular feels fast and hectic thanks to it
    The problem here isn’t the gameplay..
    It’s the hook…
    The game doesn’t rewarded quickly enough to hook the average player and incentivize them to go for more characters…
    25 matches or 4 and half hours for 1 single character is ridiculous…
    aint nobody got time for that…
    With more maps, which the devs are working on as you can even test them once you reach level 15
    and a grind cut by about 75% and there’s something here…
    until then it’s a grind fest that you’ll most likely lose interest in before you have a chance to play with everything

    It's a amazing game. Very likely Overwatch, and because Overwatch is so popular people think they can't enjoy Paladins. I play Overwatch and i love it, but I decide to try Paladins now. The cards make the game very dynamic as well the fact it's has more Heroes. The only bad thing a have to say is that i'ts has 4 types of currency witch makes no sense. And the selling stuff is tooIt's a amazing game. Very likely Overwatch, and because Overwatch is so popular people think they can't enjoy Paladins. I play Overwatch and i love it, but I decide to try Paladins now. The cards make the game very dynamic as well the fact it's has more Heroes.     It's a good fun game that runs at 60fps and It's free to play but no pay to win. This game shows how Overwatch should have be free2play. For now, there is only the Beta in PS4, but they keep putting more champs and skins and stuff.
    It takes a while to get the money to buy one champ and the UI sometimes is glitchy within the walls...

    Paladins is one of the best games I've ever played. Behind it's similarities to Overwatch, it is it's own unique game with many features outshining Overwatch.     It's a very good hero shooter that mirrors over watch in a lot of ways. It's wacky, because it also literally takes the move set of characters from overwatch and mixes and matches them to different characters of their own. For example Evie(flank) now has Mei's ice block, and Inara(front line) from paladins has her ice wall, etc. It's definately not as polished as overwatch graphically (notIt's a very good hero shooter that mirrors over watch in a lot of ways. It's wacky, because it also literally takes the move set of characters from overwatch and mixes and matches them to different characters of their own. The things I liked better from paladins are the regenerating health after 5 seconds of no action to having the find health packs in OW, funner character abilities, and very small maps make for more intense gameplay, purchasing abilities to help during game, and loadouts/cards that help boost status of hero skills. Small things that bugged me was not knowing if you're playing bots if an player from opposing team leaves. But other than that I would actually give this game the same score as overwatch, I found this funner but Overwatch is more technically polished gameplay/graphic and balanced.… Expand

    Paladins is a much fun game, wich remember me a lot of team fortress 2, a game that if you can play with your friends, will have hours and more hours of gaming, the competitive mode and the ranking system in this game makes the will to play it grow more and more.

    What i most like in this, even that i know it's not original, is the necessity of the team work, the team needs to comunicate and find the best line up for the map and the game mode for the moment.

Almost every character from Overwatch has been replicated, except they look a lot less polished and refined. I'm overwhelmingly surprised that Blizzard hasn't sued the developers of this average slop for blatant plagiarism, because they reallySorry, but this game is an absolute joke.     What I don´t accept in a moba, when your character dies in less than 2 seconds, even if you are a tank. This just shows how unbalanced the game is and how low quality is the gameplay. Get away from this thing.

    Actually I was really surprised how much I liked the game, considering it is a free to play game. Played for about three to four weeks on my road to Platinum and there wasn't really a moment I hadn't fun with the game.     Like overwatch, but with worse graphics, almost no strategy, teamwork and not nearly as fun or polished. Each new character is also just a mirror or rework of an Overwatch one. If you're looking for an Overwatch-esque game for free this one is decent. But if you can afford it, pay for the real deal. It's worth it.

    This is a great game that is not a garbage copy of overwatch , infact it is almost as good as overwatch the action , hero's are good , besides some to op hero's
    its also hard to know how you upgrade your hero's , they could have made that a little bit easier

    Amazing multiplayer game, and it's not simple fps like for example CoD, this game has (for example skills of Champions) many, many , many nuances in the good way. Free to play!

    I can't believe thatI bough champions pack. Waste of money. Buggy mess. Not enough punishment for quitters. This game is just trash. I've spent with it almost 300 hours playing on pc and ps4 and ps4 version is pure frustration. Avoid it.

    Empece a jugar Paladins hace varios meses nose porque antes me daba lag muy seguido pero ahora el juego esta muy bueno agregan eventos cada cierto tiempo, skins muy buenas (con excepciones) y nuevos campeones que en su mayoria son de mi agrado.

    For a knockoff Overwatch game, it actually wasn't that bad. But at OCE, the servers are very empty and only a few modes have active players. The matchmaking is terrible since not many play, new players are grouped with veterans and gameplay just becomes dull.

    Overall the game is extremely fun, only problems are the connection issues. Trying to play with friends sometimes results in the whole party having to close and relaunch the game. Then there is the player base which are very quick to quit most of the time(many players just giving mid match because they're losing currently).     For a free to play the game it's hard to complain too much. It gets updated frequently and the devs seem to listen to the community better than its competitors. The problem with is that Triple-A games dominate the industry and when you have games like overwatch that have hundreds of millions of dollars in it the quality of the two games shows.
