Vastly overrated !!! It's kind of "cute" but very slow and with a boring story, heavy humor and the maniability can really gets on your nerves !!! 6 is enough for me.

the story is boring and there is no map in the game neither a teleport mechanic making you wasting time trying to find the right way to go instead of playing. exellent visuals and music btw

While the aesthetics of Owlboy are undeniably very nice to look and listen at – though not very innovativ or artistically distinct like some other pixel-art games like HLD or Hotline Miami – this games one major flaw is its gameplay: unresponsiv, repetitiv and simply no fun.

This game was fun, but full disclosure, I played about 95% of it over a year ago before coming back to it recently (Feb 2022) to beat the final stage. If I based my review of it on just this most recent experience, it would be a complicated choice between praise and bone-picking. The graphics and world are interesting, but the gameplay and controls are a little wonky and make some sections annoying. However, remembering the game before (when I believe I had got used to the controls and challenges), I think it has a good amount of charm and a fresh enough take on platforming adventures to be worth the time and not too long (you can probably finish it over a weekend, if that's your style). The story is fine enough for a game like this- although it seems written for a much younger audience (of which I am definitely not a member). A decent game overall. Expand

It’s fine for what it is, and I certainly wouldn’t begrudge anyone who does love the game and hold it in insanely high regard, but if I’m being completely honest, I just don’t get it.

Gripping and entertaining, with an identity all of its own, this is easily one of the best indie adventures you can get. Otus and chums will get you hooked. We're not tawny on the verdict on this one. [June 2018, p.82]

Owlboy is a wonderful adventure in a dreamlike world. The games includes a lot of different mechanics that make impossible to classify it in a specific genre. The pixel art graphical style is just as amazing as the soundtrack. This game is unmissable for any player that wants to live an unforgettable adventure.
