Throughout the five stories on offer here, you always feel like there’s something new around the bend, or some order in which things can progress. That’s a whole lot of words to write about a game that doesn’t use many to get its point across, I know, but Ord. is all about making players fill in the gaps, and it does a pretty good job of it.

Ord. gives you a noun and a couple of verbs and lets your imagination do the rest and, surprisingly, it kind of works but such minimalist gameplay and presentation presents the game with limitations that restrain it too severely.

What a different yet wonderful game

Ord. is not you every day video game. It does not have anything to look at apart from text yet after playing it for ten or so minutes, I was hooked!

Ord. is a text adventure game that throws you a word and gives you two words in option to reply. This will either lead you on your adventure or end your story right there, making you restart it over. For a good example I came across when playing - The game will give you the word "Brick" then you have a option to select one of these two words for a response - Examine / Leave. I selected Examine which lead me to the Brick being loose and I was able to remove it to find a Rat and so on.

Ord. has five different stories to choose from with multiple endings leaving for hours of gameplay and replay factor.

Not a game for everyone I must say but if you have never played a text adventure game before, then I would recommend playing it and letting your imagination run wild!

I have yet to complete all of the stories, but this game is delightful!

The idea is that you only get 3 words per screen: 1 word to inform you of the situation and 2 to choose what to do. Whatever you choose you will then get 2 descriptive words to reveal the results of your choice before moving on to the next screen.

Some of the results are hilarious, and there is something genuinely compelling about the minimalist nature of the game. Definitely worth a try!
