    The gameplay and puzzle design act as something of a distraction, but not a frustration, while the game’s painted vistas and ambient music lull you to be almost meditative. The nature of the game invites you to be introspective, much like the old man you’re controlling.

    Old Mans Journey is an about hr and a half long puzzle game where you play as a man who gets a letter.. you don’t know what this letter says but as the game continues and the story goes on you begin to understand..
    you see where its going and you just never want it to get there..
    but to get there as the name suggests you have to go on a bit of a journey.. this is where the puzzle comes into place..
    its all about pulling different land masts to different heights so oyu can hop from one place to another and proceed to the next area or chapter…
    every chapter rewarding you with a still of this mans past..
    I didn’t quite find anything to be done interesting here with the game mechanics.. but I definitely enjoyed my experience with this game.. the art is beautiful, the story made me cry…
    there were moments of fun.. but most of it was mild irritation of trying to figure out the a puzzle..
    the game and the old man is not consistently responsive either… I would click to a spot on the screen and he would start walking in a different direction to a different point..
    there was also a moment or two where I broke the game..
    id click to a spot and the old man walked off screen to the past area and wouldn’t go back to the area I was supposed to be in, resulting in me having to back out and come back in..
    frustrations aside though, this is an overall beautiful game that’s worth picking up for the heartstring pulling alone.

Para ello, recurre a una puesta en escena similar aOld Man’s Journey nos propone embarcarnos en un viaje por los recuerdos de toda una vida. Para ello, recurre a una puesta en escena similar a los teatros de títeres y los libros troquelados: cada pantalla se compone de numerosos planos 2D a alturas desiguales, que deben nivelarse –con el cursor, al clásico estilo Point & Click, e incluso a través de control táctil en Switch- para que el protagonista sea capaz de cruzar.

    La mecánica se irá complicando sutilmente, al introducir obstáculos que impiden avanzar o barreras que se destruirán, combinando elementos del escenario. El ensayo-error es, de esta forma, la rutina de un juego nada complicado y que puede superarse en menos de dos horas.

    Aunque las principales bazas de Old Man’s Journey sean su parcela artística y la ligereza de sus puzles –idóneos para un paréntesis entre juegos más densos-, el componente emocional también brilla con luz propia.

    En palabras de sus creadores, su propósito era entregar una meditación sobre la vida y las determinaciones que se toman, para concluir que siempre hay que esperar segundas oportunidades.

    No desvelaremos más de la cuenta en esta reseña, pero la fuerza de su mensaje es, con toda certeza, el mayor acierto del juego; las etapas, momentos y decisiones que componen la vida del anciano son de carácter universal, lo que facilita que nos identifiquemos con el relato.

    Porque, a fin de cuentas, todos tomamos caminos acertados, nos equivocamos, ayudamos y/o somos ayudados. Y Old Man’s Journey nos recuerda que, en el viaje de cada uno, siempre hay que dejar sitio en la mochila para la esperanza.    … Expand

    First of all, this is a mobile/ IPad port, that is not necessarily something bad, but in this case, it is the laziest port ever. They have not even changed the mobile icons, they have changed nothing, therefore you can see the mechanics suffer in console. The game looked gorgeous, specially the artwork, and the story, I was expecting something touching and beautiful. The truth is the art is nice, but the story is bland, predictable and cliché. The game is about two hours and manages to be boring, which is a great achievement.

    As I said, the gameplay has been ported from mobile and does not work very well in PS4, there is a cursor in the screen all the time for you to interact with the small number of things you can actually interact with and it is uncomfortable to say the least.

    Unfortunately, not all games that look good, are actually good. This one is bland and boring.
    Get if for tablet or phone (is way cheaper) if you really want to check it out, but it is not worth the price on the PS4 Store.    … Expand

    Ну что сказать, играется как на ящике, но немного хуже - в месте с поездом играм как бы фризила периодически, как будто автосейв срабатывал, но не фоном, а прямо останавливая игру менее, чем на секунду каждые секунд 15, что напрягло, но не критично.
    Моё мнение о игре осталось неизменным - та же бессмысленная красота на час без раскрытия персонажей… те же 3 из 10, сойдёт за соточку или в составе Game Pass, за 500-600 брать не советую дабы не разочароваться… лучше на ютубе «пройдите», ничего не потеряете :)    … Expand
