Secondly, cars physics if you played Forza Horizon 2,3,4 just skip wherever it's it or wait for price drop 80% minimum, I'm gonna buy on sale only. I have a much better vision statement to create the best NFS. I continue playing in Forza Horizon wait for a sale. P.S. developers experience a lot of problems due to creating that's game so.… Expand

    I would probably score this game an 8, but there are two things that are spoiling it for me so far, one small thing and one large. The first small thing is the mini map, the scale of the car on the minimap is way too big, which means you are spending a lot longer trying to work out which turn you are taking relative to the map.     The second, more frustrating complaint for me is the drift mechanic. Drifting feels as good as it did in NFS rivals, however, the button combination to drift is simply the worst choice they have made this instalment. Double pumping the gas, if you double pump too quick, NO Drifit and you go first to last. If you double pump too slow, NO drift and you go first to last. If you have an S-bend, you have to double pump around the S bend, and it is highly likely one drift won't work.

    They absolutely nailed drifting in NFS rivals, where you just tapped the left trigger when you wanted to initiate drifting. I have no idea why they don't give us the option for that, or why in every instalment since they have tried to fix what wasn't broken. It is really annoying because you can be going seriously fast, try to drift at the perfect moment, in first place, and the race is just over, because it didn't work. And you are resetting, sometimes it happens a few times. Racers need to make drivers feel satisfied, not screwed over.    … Expand

    This genuinely feels like a throwback to the OG most wanted and underground days. There are some performance issues that plague the game but other than that, we finally have a good need for speed game this year. Good job Ghost.

    Once again, they did hack work when there is someone to navigate — forza horizon. Even the boring crew 2 with a huge world and a bunch of activities (some of which are just boring) and more nice graphics (even there is a first-person view) looks better what on account of need for speed - 20? It's a shame, close the series, do not disgrace.

    I enjoyed this nfs as nfs most wanted its very nice and sharp. The music, the atmosphere brought me to the origins of nfs.

    Need for speed Heat is great! Don't read reviews with a score of 0, because they just are from frustrated people or Forza fanboys. I have played both FH 4 and NFS Heat, and i can say NFS Heat is different, but not worse. In some ways it is even better!

    Graphics: the graphics are okay and sometimes even good. Not the most beautifull i have seen but with some patches it can be even    Need for speed Heat is great!     Sound: the sounds is just amazing!! NFS always had good sound, but this is just getting better. Each car sound different depending how you upgrade it and you can even tweak the exhaustsystem for your own personalized sound. And yes, the sound is one of the points NFS beats games like Forza big time.

    Gameplay: it's all about the love for cars and do races to upgrade them: day for money and night for reputationpoints, to unlock upgradeparts. Handling isn't realistic but it's fun. Above all you can tweak it to your own likings to a drift, race or rally build.

    The storymode is pretty fun also. Much better then it was back in 2015 or in Payback. It is is'nt great, but personally i don't play a racegame for the story. Does other racegames have a great 'story'? Don't think so. When you want a good story you have to play Uncharted 4, The last of us or Days Gone.

    Police are also back and more agressive then ever. In my opinion and especially in the beginning with a beginner car, they are way to hard. Good thing they are back but very frustrating when you have hypercar and the police are keeping up with great ease and making you feel you drive a 75 horsepower car instead of a Koenigsegg.

    The game really is great and shines on sound and how you can tune your car. Really a lot of options to make it your own unique car with even your own sound, handling and visual upgrades. Hopefully they fix balancing problems with the police and improve the overall game, because the basics are solid! Now the question; is NFS Heat better then Forza Horizon 4? Yes and no. Yes, the sound is much much much better and you can upgrade your car to your own liking. On the other hand, Forza looks much much better, and the handling is more realistic. In my opinion NFS has more of a fun factor for long replayability then Forza due its deep upgrading system.

    First of all, I just wanna say I created this account to say that this game is an emotional return to the glory days of need for speed series. It captures every good aspects taken from the great nfs titles like most wanted (2005), underground 2, pro street and carbon. The game doesn't get boring by no means. The ai level is ok, if your car rating is more than the recommended rating in any specific race you're selecting, you're good. The driving physics is of course arcade and I'm loving the new drifting physics. The customization is outstanding with loads of options available to customize your car and FINALLY NO SPEEDCARDS from payback. The graphics looks great. Now, I would want EA to kinda tweak the photo mode a little bit because it's kinda tricky and annoying to work with but other than everything is good. If you just wanna have fun and race with your friends and hang around and wanna host car meets and stuff, this game is a way to go, it gives more pro street, underground 2, and carbon as in general. Also, I like one of the most important of the game is that you can play offline and people who don't want to multiplayer can play offline.… Expand

    Need for Speed Heat is one of the absolute best Need for Speed games yet. After so many years, Need for Speed is back on the right track and NFS Heat is a fantastic comeback and a triumphant return to form for the series. But this game is not as good as NFS Hot Pursuit 2, NFS Underground 1 and Underground 2, and the iconic NFS Most Wanted (2005).

    by far the best need for speed game i have played in YEARS good physics good cops VERY GOOD handling and drifting and the game is VERY fun but the lack of updates kinda ruins it...

    It is a very cool game with a very cool aesthetic. It is pleasing to the eye, plus a very fun driving and mechanics. The almost total absence of micro-transactions is appreciated.

И она зависит от того, что происходит, например когда коп догоняет, становится страшной такой. В общем, OST наконец-то классный сделали в NFS.

    Есть небольшие проблемы с графикой и геймплеем, а именно с анимацией. Волны в море - они ужасны. То как сминаются кусты под машиной - ну это вообще полный бред. Можно снести толстое дерево на дороге на скорости 0,1 км/ч. Не машина, а броневик какой-то сминающий все на своем пути - это минус.

    А так все круто, красиво. Совершенно другая и новая игра, хоть и на движке Payback.    … Expand

    Customization is top notch.
    Good amount of cars.
    Driving mechanics could be better.
    Cops are too aggressive.

    After 2 or 3 miserable entries...this game comes along and reinvigorates my faith in the franchise and the direction it is going.
    All I want to do is buy more parts and more cars and after that....do it all over again.

    Great racing game lots to do and the cars handle well and sound awesome. Engine swaps is a sweet new future in each engine sounds different! Cops are a little odd you can fly past them sometimes and they don't move and the traffic can be a little light but never fells as empty as the crew. Overall best need for speed in years!

    The best Need for Speed entry in a while. The vibe of the world and art directions is awesome. The customisation of the car combined with the character customisation add a lot of depth into the game and variety.
    The cars feel great and the handling model improved a lot compared to Payback and it's very intuitive to fit it to your tastes with the Live tuning.     The best arcade racing of this generation. A great surprise! Forza Horizon has better physics, NFS brings more fun to the gameplay. 10/10

    If you love racing games. This one is for you. Honestly just mindless total fun. Race and then watch a couple of corny cut scenes. Rinse and repeat. Cool cars. Big comeback for NFS

    I'm not a fan of this game at all. The gameplay sucks, the music sucks and the story sucks. I hate the steering.. I loved "Need for Speed Most Wanted" back in the day but this is nothing like it.... The drifting and steering is soooooooo baddddddd....... Again why is the music so trash? 0/10

The handling system is, well, NFS handling and its had minor improvement over Payback. But it’s still clunky and strange. You have to try it to really get what I mean. It feels very Crew 2 like and Payback. I’d give it a 6/10 at max for the handling. Overall Heat has a a few good factors but the rest of the game is just mediocre at best. I don’t know how people think this game is better than Forza OVERALL when that series does a lot more things way better. Customization and sound design are the only things NFS does better.     This game is much better than the previous one, if not for the lore, and because it is destroyed no matter what a 15-meter tree is. I also trap traps for policemen like the NFS Carbon, I would ask for more cars and more pieces of tuning, Spoilers are few and huge, they can learn from the creator of the NFS Carbon or win cars on the cards

    If you enjoyed NFS underground/Most wanted you most likely will enjoy this. I didn't know if i would like it after being let down by the most recent NFS games, but i really like this one! Its not a perfect game but its fun.

If you can snag this for half price or less, it's probably worth picking up. Definitely not worth full pop. One thing I see a bunch of complaints about is the game is too arcade-y.... bro have you ever played a NFS game? It's what they've been doing for 25 years with less than a handful of exceptions. If you want a sim, play a sim.

This Need for speed (Heat) is the best NFS since underground 2 and Most wanted. Why you ask? Because, as many others said, they took the best parts from all the nfs and put it in this one! Sure the game ain't perfect, but it has everything we want from a nfs game! It's obvious that these spoiled kids here with the bad reviews are just pissed because they can't escape the police or they don't know how to drift. Or the fact that the graphics CAN'T be better due to the spec limitations on the consoles. But now after finishing the game, I can say the game is beautiful and I love it. Here comes the good parts and the bad parts.

    Good:

    - Many different cars for every taste
    - Tons of styles for the look of the car (depends what car tho)
    - Many ways to tune the car for your desired handling or race.
    - Day - Night by your choice
    - Transfer your engine parts onto another car
    - Offline mode
    - No microtransactions - Really hard cops (this is good and bad)

    Bad:

    - As I said, cops are maybe too hard for lower ranks, too fast maybe?
    - The music could be much better, although I mute it and use spotify - The cops take not just the money from what you earned that night, but straight out of your bank.
    - I lost some parts while transitioning from online to offline and vice versa, probably a bug that will be fixed in the future.
    - The price on the console in the digital store (download) was maybe a bit too pricey compared to a real store (on disc). So that's why I bought it on a sale in the digital store.

    And that's it, I personally love it and I really hope that they will keep making them like this! Most of the butthurt kids on here should be ignored because no matter how good the game is, they will always find a reason to complain about. Clearly they don't know what they want.

    Great game. Once you get passed the first vehicles you choose which are horrible. Buy a car at the dealership and tune it. The Honda Civic type r is a great start. Game is fun and offers rewarding upgrades and cars to unlock. Try it for yourself. Don’t understand the hate it’s gotten

    Great. Not the best in the series, but really good. The choice of customized handling and good selection of custom parts for each car makes it unique. Anyway, the cops difficult is a challenge that not everybody will gonna enjoy.

    Finally! Cops that can give you nightmares. A bunch of people cries about handling and all that. It can be noticed that they don't know how tweaking works and as far I can deduce they also didn't play the game enough to navigate through all the things that the game offers so far.

    1. In the day time, you do legal stuff, legal races ( there are no activities in the streets in the day time)
    2. At night, nowhere the city is alive, full of cops, other players.
    It doesn't have the greatest story but is not the worst.
    In the past NFS games, we cried that the cops are **** Now you cry that they are a nightmare in heat 3. My advice to those who cry for this, GET BETTER AT THE GAME!
    NO MICROTRANSACTIONS! you can customize your avatar and your car without paying from your wallet.
    I played this game for 2 days now and I am enjoying it.
    I didn't have issues with the game. Everything goes smooth. Yes! it needs some graphics adjustments, but a few.
    For an NFS that comes from EA, and in comparison with other NFS games (from the past 3 too 5 years). Since I can't give it a 7.5 I have given it an 8, since at the time of writing this the user score was 6.6 which is a joke and like always the cause of frustrated people giving it a 0 complaining about ps2 graphics while hoping it would be exactly the same like the original most wanted which surprise, surprise is a ps2 game...

    Anyway I'm not going to tell you this game is perfect.

    Graphics: the graphics are good, nothing like gran turismo but definitely better than the need for speeds on ps2 and ps3. If you liked the graphics in need for speed 2015, you are going to like these as well. Only complaint here for me is the loading time on stickers and how stickers look on opponents.

    Gameplay: The problem with this game and it's gameplay (mainly handling) is that it starts of very poorly and only really gets better by the end of the story. You'll have to get used to how the cars handle. I feel like a lot of times the cars have too much under steer, and you'll have to find a way to work around that problem with the e-brake and the brake to drift system. In the beginning of the game with a slow car this can be pretty annoying, combine that with the aggressive cops and only 3 repairs at night and you'll feel like the game is broken and unbalanced. HOWEVER! I kept on going and after beating the story your car will be around level 300. That's where the fun begins, the handling now will translate into something quite similar to the original most wanted, and now your chances of fleeing from the cops without some trick you found on youtube will highly improve. And it only get's better as you improve the parts on your car. Once you are around 370-400+ the cops will feel like peasants. Of course it's a real shame you only unlock this feeling in the post game, they should of balanced it better with the slower cars. Also I feel like they should of made the cops less aggressive but way more intelligent, now the danger is not the techniques they use to stop you but just them wrecking your car.

    Story: While I like the idea around the story and I like the characters, it just feels rushed. There are only 4 chapters and a couple of side missions (drift, rally and race). It could have easily been double that amount. Seriously the cop in the trailer that hyped us so much with 'the I said right now!' phrase is hardly in there. At a certain point you crash him and that's it, bye bye Shaw!. At the end of the story you will see an iconic car that was impounded by the cops, there is no explaination on how that car got there whatsoever, because the owner of that car doesn't seem like the type to just give up on it. Why not make him appear in the story or someone from that game! Also what is up with the league, who are these drivers? What makes them so special except for the fact they have expensive cars and clothes? Why not explore the league more? Make us climb to the top of the league with some kind of black list/ most wanted list. The story ends with you being around level 30, with half of the cars and parts still to be unlocked. I'll be honnest I felt a bit lost on how to feel about it.
    I honestly feel like the story is the biggest problem with this game, if it were longer and more fleshed out this game in my opinion could have been an 8.5-9 out of 10.

    Now you must be asking yourself with all this negativity why give it a high score?
    Well because if you are a bit of a petrolhead and you love the idea of a game based around having multiple project cars this game is amazing! Okay, you'll have to grind a bit. But in my opinion there is nothing wrong with a grind. For me that's the reason (sorry for bringing this game up) why I don't like forza horizon that much, it keeps throwing reward cars at you and that in my opinion is really boring also NO loot boxes like in payback! Being in a crew or having friends is a big plus, you'll have fun trying to beat their scores and times and having car meet ups, hopefully they'll introduce speedlists soon.

    Verdict: 7.5/10 Okay it has it's fair share of problems, the pace of the story combined with the way slow cars handle will leave you puzzled but give it a chance. Go for level 50 after beating the story and you might fall in love again with the need for speed franchise.

    You arent't that sure about it yet and find 60-70 euro to expensive, wait for price drop around 30-40 euro and I'll promise you, you'll feel even happier than me who bought it on launch.

    TIP: Go on youtube to find you some tricks on how to escape the cops and set up a drift car, that will save you from a lot of frustration.    … Expand

    The day and night system sounds interesting but since you can ONLY get rep (the experience points from this game) in these night events. This may sound like an interesting idea but sadly, it just evolves into a gigantic grindfest that could go on for 2 hrs.

    This game is VERY buggy and has by far the worst car physics I've ever seen in a racing game.

    The police has a questionable design at day. At night, they are mostly very annoying and unbalanced.

    The best part of this game are easily the night events and the car selection. The night events are really fun but can be very frustrating sometimes.

    The city is big and really good and the game looks beatiful. Cops are aggressive again and the story is decent too.

    Great game, probably the best need for speed that came out on either the Ps4 or Xbox. The gameplay mechanics has improved and so has the handling on the game. The only think I have a problem is that there is no PvP at launch but overall a fantastic game to play if you love racing.

    Need for Speed ist zurück! Es ist nicht perfekt, aber man merkt, dass es eine Hommage an Most Wanted 2005 und Carbon sein soll. Das Spielgefühl ist super und nochmals kräftig überarbeitet hinsichtlich der Vorgänger.

    This game would be way better if the game didn't crash every 5 seconds you play. I have experienced 9 blue screens in less than 12 hours. Soundtrack is okay. Its just background noise. I wish they just remastered NFS Carbon already

Unlike almost EVERY aaa racer this gen, Heat has CHARACTER! it has an actual theme, an actual atmosphere, an actual art style. It felt like the people designing this game really had a vision. And it shows in the gameplay of racing aroundAlthough it's obviously not the second coming of christ it is finally a step in the right direction that has been missing for NFS for the last decade. Unlike almost EVERY aaa racer this gen, Heat has CHARACTER! it has an actual theme, an actual atmosphere, an actual art style. It felt like the people designing this game really had a vision. And it shows in the gameplay of racing around this very nice world with improved but not yet perfect handling (way better than previous ghost games). The cops can be pretty unforgiving at low levels, but if you be patient and practice and wait until youre truely ready to take on high heat levels, you will have some of the most intense fun ever in a racing game! Of course there are problems like a so so framerate and a map that should really have more ai drivers to make it feel more alive, but through post game support i hope this can be a new beginning for NFS.… Expand

    The BEST NFS I've played since Carbon. There's nothing else for me to say. I can only this game for hours and not get bored. And pursuits are the most fun in years and not as frustrating as Rival's pursuits. Overall very happy with the game and with what ghost has done.

    Solid casual experience perfect for me home with my twins :) I would have liked more fast travelling during the days where it wouldn't break the night rules to events but when you unlock most garages it isn't far anywhere. (full disclosure I'm an EA employee but haven't worked at all with this studio or game )

    It can't be a coincidence that the woker these games get, the worse they get. First thing you're greeted with in this game is a political message about America's retarded politics. Which really sucks when you're not American and you don't really even like America . Only gets worse from there with more cringey crap music and just more works character creation whitey not allowed

    While it pales in comparison to the likes of something like Forza Horizon, which it is obviously trying to replicate, it still packs plenty of features to make it a worthwhile play, from its solid driving mechanics to its marvelous car customization. Inarguably the best NFS the entire 2010 decade had to offer.

    I really enjoy games that support BLM with diverse characters and fitting hip-hop music. NFS heat may have its flaws but the thrill and hours of enjoyment of racing drifting and rally events will always put NFS on top.

The physics of the cars are good but I was hoping for some real car damage I mean slamming a wall at 150mph and not having any damage was kind of lame. The story is ehh but like I said the effort on the racing is much improved. All and all a great step in the right direction. And before I forget, NO MICRO TRANSACTIONS? You actually have to grind on a EA game? Bug thumbs up for that. I'm actually giving this a 8.0/10. A ten to offset these fake ass low scores!!!… Expand

    Been playing NFS games since 2005 and this one is definitely one of the best NFS games ever made. I don't know what else you people on this website want sometimes lmao. Nostalgia rose-tinted glasses, huh? Great customization, heap of cars and events, ability to play solo offline, not grindy at all. One of the best arcade racers.

    - day/night modes suck (no point to it)
    - very short story
    - unlocks/progression are uneven (why unlock slow cars mid way through the game?)
    - color in the level appears dull. Its either, raining or cloudy.
    - Zero drag events, but has drag upgrades. WHAT????
    - No personality
    - Gets repetitive
    - Can't play as the police!

    Missed out on being a great game. I wish they would stop taking out all the great features that was included in the previous games and just build upon them instead of making an uninspired and boring game.    … Expand

    Great NFS overall. Bring back some nice things from the past games, like a good car chase and a nice soundtrack. It's a fun game to play, even with a wheel.

    The customization options are great, but for me personally it would be even better if they chosed to bring back some original parts and not only official parts.     No microtransactions needed, good graphics, nice car options.

    The only thing i think they could inviest more is the story. I know it's a racing game, but they could add some more fun to it, like MW or Carbon.    … Expand

    The best street racing game since Carbon. The cops are awful though. Running from the cops should be the most fun part of the game but in my hundreds of hours there has never been a moment when running from the cops that I ever prolonged a chase because I was enjoying myself. That's because I hate it. They have an unfair catchup mechanic and the only way to lose them is by hitting jumps.The best street racing game since Carbon. The cops are awful though.     Although it has some issues, such as the drifting and loading times, Need for Speed Heat is the best Need for Speed game to come out since Most Wanted...2005.

    Need for Speed: Heat is the first good step for the franchise in years. Devoid of micro transactions, providing some Underground-like neon vibes with it’s best customization system, it can provide more than a dozen of hours of fun, despite it’s dead like world design and irrelevant and boring story.

    The Heat meter effectively turns GTA’s wanted level into score attack, which is awesome. But the open-world busywork, generic city, and too-flimsy obstacles dilute the otherwise decent gameplay. [Issue#170, p.88]

    Again, I don’t think Need for Speed Heat does much to re-invent the wheel when it comes to open-world racing games, but it does help reset the franchise in a way that felt necessary at this point. It’s an enjoyable experience throughout, the story is entertaining if maybe a little too serious, and the overall progression path is well realized. If you’re hungry to get behind the wheel of a virtual car this season, Need for Speed Heat is likely going to be the game for you.
