    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Story campaing: 8 - Nice story with the corrupt cops and ending with the pursuit with the BMW GTR, but in general it doesn't feel dangerous and aggressive story.
    Car list: 8 - Has exotics/super sports cars instead of focusing on the street sports cars, what could make more sense with the story campaing;
    Car visual modification: 10
    Driving experience: 5 (car movements do not respond precisely)
    Pursuit : 5 (Cops spawns just in front of the player out of nowhere)
    Racing rivals: 5 (Depending of the car performance level, opponents are defeated easly)

    I hated the soundtrack, worst in ALL NFS series. But it's a good game, loved the cars, the story is OK but not bad. The cars, engines, customization are awsome. The police is Very hard, the hardest cops of earlier need for speed no doubt. The Map and during the day it's a need for speed HORIZON game, a little bit of DIRT and GRID too. At night, yes there we have a Need for    *Played on PS5

At night, yes there we have a Need for speed game, but the map It's not Very NFS but its good, sometimes remembered me of Underground 2 and Carbon. I loved the Neon Back. I think the cars are too expensive, this is Bad because we want tô try lots of cara but even with 60 hours game, you cannot afford even half of the cars. The Gameplays is a High point in this game. And here is something special in this game. The maps is totally free and your can Go offroad whenever you want, so If you make a OFF ROAD setup (I LOVED mercedez G63 in this game) you can make different likes and tracks during normal races and scaping from police. I think EA made a simple but good job with Off Road in this game, and the freedom of playing at night or day whenever you want is a good spot too. I am playing NFS UNBOUND now and for now heat is better but i AM Just starting with unbound so my mind may change.. thanks for Reading, cheers    … Expand

    Things I like:
    - Graphic is very nice.
    - Visual customisation is very flexible and awesome. - I loves collectible feature. - Various choices of cars - I love Palm City map, with many terrain, scene, and style. Hidden path (like under ground tunnel, sky train rail) - Day/Night scene are beautiful, also rain effect. - I love to play the game in easily. And I like how easy it is to beat AI in    Things I like:
    - Graphic is very nice.

    Things that could be better:
    - Confusing concept of swapping engine. Should I swap engine? Why can't I just upgrade the parts to higher tier?
    - I wish I could adjust traffic density. Some time I need to do free roam running or try some activities with less civian cars.
    - I hate night race. Because it guarantee that will end up in persuut everytime.
    - Drifting is much harder, I don't know why but I never feel as bad like this in previous installment.
    - Story is not good. Some characters are just too childish. It doesn't affect gameplay, but it doesn't engage me.
    - I wish to see More Asian cars; Toyota, Hyundai, etc. I'm not interested at all in muscular classic car neither old ugly truck from Chevrolet (actually I thinks there are too many American cars)
    - Should have garages in every district of the map. And garage should be more noticable and have wider entrance.
    - Civilian cars are quite stupid sometimes, they stop pointlessly in the middle of the junction (like they just want to block my way)
    - Car body customisation should affect something beyond its look. Perhaps, it could add or decrease downforce, grip, cooling, strength (related to car damage)
    - Map interface is not quite perfect. I can't see the whole route of many race just because I can't fully zoom out the see the whole.mapnpf Palm City.    … Expand

    Personally, i'ts a good game but it's not perfect. As EA always made, Heat has good graphics and the music and the atmosphere is cool. However, on balance, I still think the city is empty. I believe the narrative, dialogues and controls is far better than the other one. No doubt.

    Физика ужасна! Либо утюг либо дрифт при нажатии тормоза. Как в это играть, машина не ощущается настоящей. Только тюнинг радует, а в остальном не очень...

    The game what brought back the gameplay from the arcade tuner racers from the 2000s. It simply just is a very good game, but it is also lacking in terms of graphics, atmosphere and soundtrack.

    Jugué al need for speed de 2016 y me pareció relativamente bueno. A pesar de que este incluya mayor contenido, me ha parecido aburrido y no he llegado a acabarlo. Las persecuciones con la policía se hacen muy frustrantes, siendo el principal motivo para dejarlo, ya que algunas duraban hasta 20 minutos.

    In my opinion Heat is a really good game because the day and night system is well divided, you don't have to struggle as in the previous parts to win races and have both. the story is better than in payback as for the police it's a bit too difficult for me but it's up to everyone if they want the graphics are good but the sense of speed is weak here in general good game

    After playing unbound, safe to say that my gaming experience is better with heat. I feel like unbound is a cheap copy of heat.

    Fun driving mechanics. Fun city. Kept playing after the story which does not happen often. Rep vs money system is engaging. NFS Unbound lost a lot of the soul this game had and made some poor choices that were fun in this game. Continuous cop chases after a race is a huge plus here. Unbound resets your speed and the cops positioning after a race which is cheap.

The driving style variations leave something to be desired, and the story is a 6/10, 7.5/10 at best. The story is also quite short, you get a few hours of gameplay. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (7) Average. The game’s feature may work, but are nothing that even causal players haven’t seen before.

    It’s better overall then the last few Need for Speed but not up to par with their golden age of making good racing games. There are still some annoying features for me to go higher than a seven. My first 10 hours I thought the AI was easy but once I got to a performance of 250 and a rep level of 18 the non-story missions seemed to have a wide range of AI. For example, the last three AI cars would fall way behind quick and I would lap them by the end of the race, the 3rd-2nd placed AI cars would be perfect to race with, and the leader would always stay 150-300 yards in front of you even if you had a perfect race and a met requirement vehicle. It was weird to experience since the campaign missions didn’t do that. I also had an issue with tuning. I would set my car to on-road/track setting but I felt like drifting in turns was still required to be quicker. I like racing games that have a more realistic handling model so drifting should not be a thing if you’re setting up a race trim car. I don’t like how upgrading your vehicle is just selecting a higher tear of parts instead of real parts too. The police is a little too hard too. Just a couple of hits and your vehicle is probably toast in heat 3 or higher. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if your car was able to deal out the same damage to their car but they are like five times stronger than you.    … Expand

    Drifting is very bad, so the best way to play the game for most of the time is to use a grippy car.     On the bright side the car customization is fantastic, probably one of the best in the series, buying cars and customizing them is very fun.

    I got this game on sale for 5 bucks and to be honest, I still want my money back because this game is terrible. The cop chases are really boring and you'll probably never get more than 3 cops behind you.
    The driving is great but the races are repetative. Impossible to escape police without prior knowledge of game systems such as abusing ramps and tight alleyways to crash braindead rubberbanding Chargers and C7 Corvettes who will always try and pit you no matter what the situation like it's the one and only police tactic that exists for stopping a moving vehicle. The police are faster than ANY racer in the game. Bar none. Their corvettes can catch hypercars. Hilariously unrealistic. This wouldn't be an issue except that half of the game involves night races which have the chance for police to catch you, removing your ENTIRE cash stack. Genuinely the worst system I have seen in a racing game. Ever. Its like they hate their customers. Avoid playing at all costs.… Expand

By day you can race legally, collect far too many collectibles and explore but once the sun goes down EA return to their roots and let you wreak havoc through Palm City. That's the shining jewel of this game, the HEAT system, which bolsters an already technically marvellous game that outguns any NFS game from this generation.     Terrible writing, overly complicated vehicle customization and a C+ sound track. The only thing that saves it is the driving but it's the same driving as every other Need for Speed game so I'd suggest a different entry for the series.

    One of the worst racing games Ive ever played. You lose all your money if you crash into something that looks destructable while getting chased. All of it. Embarassing. On top of that terrible handling that feels like unrealistic garbage. A game made for people who dont exist.

    1) No button configuration? EA are out of their minds.
    2) Barely no vibration? What is this?...

    Çayımı alıyorum, tekrar eden oyun içi müzikleri kapatıp Ankaralı Namık açıyorum ve araba sürüyorum, yarışıyorum. Yeterince güzel araba ve yarış mevcut. Araba sürmeyi seviyorsanız yeterli. Tek uyarım Heat seviyeniz 3e ulaşınca garaja koşun. Yoksa ayvayı yersiniz. Polislerden kaçmak mümkün değil.

    Don't let the dodgy dialogue or the slightly strange day./night gimmick fool you, there is real merit to this game, and it is one that you will enjoy for hours.

    Awesome game, very complete: races, drifting and road, along to time trials and heat races, with both day and night modes. There is also a beautiful collection of cars, with great customization options. Really loved this game, is a shame that reputation does not add much to the game after reaching level 50.

    Completely unbalanced game. Cops are op. Most cars drive like trains. You basically just have two modes — drift or train. It's really a shame and doesn't deserve to be called Need for Speed.

    Another sign that NFS is dead, but it's actually a good thing.

    The graphic feels outdated, the physics is infuriating, the customization is poor even comparing to the older NFS games and the cops... well they are the worst: it's kinda ok their cars like 100 times heavier than player's, it's kinda ok they reach 220 mph in a blink of an eye, but the way they spawn right in front of you    Another sign that NFS is dead, but it's actually a good thing.

    The graphic feels outdated, the physics is infuriating, the customization is poor even comparing to the older NFS games and the cops... well they are the worst: it's kinda ok their cars like 100 times heavier than player's, it's kinda ok they reach 220 mph in a blink of an eye, but the way they spawn right in front of you totally destroys the experience of every pursuit.

    The story is... ok there's some and I doubt anybody expected something else than cringe from it (hence not disappointed).

    Overall the game feels 10 years older than it is and it's nothing but a joke comparing to industry leading titles.    … Expand

    I don't like it. I have no motivation to play like that. As for graphics i don't like trees. They're too sharp. Only TAA is helping but not too much. I don't know. NFS Heat tries to mix a bit of Underground, a bit of MW and a bit of the newer games in the series (even iconic cars such as the BMW M3 or the Diablo SV are here again). Unfortunately its final results are a mix bag contrary to what everyone says. Starting with things simple like the soundtrack that is nice or the graphics that, while it looks like a PS3 game at points, the lightning is beautiful (even if sometimes the sun reflected affects negatively the gameplay). Shamefully, starting very early we have to talk about a lot of negatives...
    The handling was done much worse, since, while im not a fan of the drifting mechanic in previous games, since is a bit inconsistent, at least it gives you enough control to turn. In this game, drifting takes away a lot of speed, and some cars cannot even drift properly, being very stiff, and if you brake to take the turns like any normal racing game you would probably lose the race. The good news is that the live tuning is actually effective here, so just turn all of the options to the right and here you go... a slighty better handling system, that while not as good as Underground or MW still is something playable. Now to the customization, enough is enough i guess, but instead of just putting an stat for knowing more or less the amount of customizable parts a car has, it wouldnt be better to just have complete customization for all the cars? Whats the problem EA?! How is that early 2000 NFS still do this better?! NFS is like a series that doesnt learn of this mistakes. Shamefully they made the pursuits horrible in this game, thanks to the damage system. While with this system they make more of a risk reward game, like Rivals, in this game is unfair as hell, since the damage is so inconsistent and the cops are rubberbanded as hell. Oh man... the damage system... even High Stakes on 1999 do this better!!! Sometimes you dont recieve damage when crashing at 200+ KMH and other times you lost 1/3 of the health just for crashing at lower speeds.... Is incredible how they screwed the damage in this game!!!!! The cars also have inconsistent stats compared to real life... Why the Skyline R34 is way slower than the Mazda RX-7 or the Dodge Challenger 1967? Later, minor nitpicks like short and unexplited story mode, lack of innovation, lack of other game modes in other games in the franchise, etc etc etc.... i just dont have to mention all of the flaws that this series has since they still does the same thing.
    A lot of people seems to love this game, and while i enjoyed it a lot, i cannot really say this is the return of the franchise as many wanted to be. I would even go as far to say that this is much worse than Rivals and Payback (especially Payback, man that game is so underrated). Well, at least is not worst than MW 2012, but that is very very hard. Man.... even the UI is copypasted from Payback.... that is being very lazy.    … Expand

    At first I was happy to think that there would be a new Need for speed that came close to what was Underground 2, but in a few hours of gameplay it was already possible to realize how bad was what there was. 1 - Weak customizations, few options for parts for each vehicle, some vehicles have parts that can be changed and others not, while Underground 2 had an extensive list of models for each of the car parts, Need for speed heat has only an average of 3 models for each part. 2 - Totally surreal and unbearable police, cars that look like war tanks, just touch you and you can see your car losing 25% of its life bar, police cars that can easily overtake you even being at more than 300 km / m. Imagine the situation: You are in a Drift test that requires controlled and perfect turns to reach the score, which is helped by the points multiplier that can reach up to 3x, suddenly 3 police cars appear chasing you, each time they hit your car it gets more damaged, it ruins your Drift, and every time they touch you your multiplier goes back to 1x, it's something extremely frustrating considering that they can't be avoided, and so they arrest you and you lose 90% of what won during the session. I played until level 33 and gave up, I couldn't stand how frustrating and purposely boring the game is, with the intention of making you fail in something that the game should provide. I'll think hard about whether to buy any Need for speed again, because I don't believe something like Underground 2 can ever exist again.

Imagine a situação: Você está em uma prova de Drift que exige curvas controladas e perfeitas para atingir a pontuação, o que é auxiliado pelo multiplicador de pontos que pode chegar até 3x, de repente aparecem 3 carros de polícia te perseguindo, cada vez que atingem seu carro ele fica mais danificado, estraga seu Drift, e em cada vez que encostam em você seu multiplicador volta para 1x, é algo extremamente frustante levando em conta que não podem ser evitados, e assim eles te prendem e você perde 90% do que conquistou durante a sessão. Joguei até nível 33 e desisti, não suportei o quanto o jogo é frustante e propositalmente chato, com a intenção de te fazer fracassar em algo que justamente o jogo deveria proporcionar.     Car customization is the best thing this game has to offer. It is full of options and is fun to compare your creations with those of your friends. It's a pretty good looking game. Some of the cars actually feel great to drive. At times, there's an albeit small but not insignificant adrenaline rush that this game gives me and that's because i think it nails the sense of speed. Going fast actually does feel fast and that's commendable. I tend to prefer more simulator type racers but the driving model here can be fun too. But, there are often these brief moments where the game basically refuses steering input for some reason. It isn't a huge deal but it's happened often enough for me to notice it and to crash multiple times because of it.

    Otherwise, I HATE the AI traffic in these games and i doubt it had ever been this egregiously bad. Cars stopping in the middle of the road as you near them. Doing perpendicular turns at T junctions and 4-ways from the far side of a two lane road. Always seeming to appear infront of you at the final moment when going up(or down) an incline. And, maybe i'm mistaken here but i swear there is usually more traffic in the night races than at day. Particularly in the high heat races. It feels like they are there to stop you or to seriously annoy you.

    I also hate the cops. I don't mind them being extra aggressive but i do mind when, even if you're racing in a grid of like 7 other cars, they only take an interest in you. They only chase you. And the damage they do when ramming you is unreasonably large, and doesn't even affect their cars even though when you ram them, it also affects your car. I hate that you can tune a car for a specific surface (track, dirt, drift) but almost never outrun the cops on that surface(atleast on hard difficulty that is). The cop cars are all purpose in a way that your cars can never be. I hate that the cop cars seem to teleport at will and have infinite acceleration. I hate that if they crash into you for no reason, they start chasing you. They ruin the game.

    I hate how grindy everything is. The cars can be satisfying to drive but never enough to offset all the grinding you have to do to level up your reputation and earn money for new cars and parts. It's tiring.

    Otherwise, the story is generic. Your usual NFS schlock of a young up-and-coming driver building his reputation, facing the established dons in the underground racing scene before finding out that the cops are the real bad guys. The soundtrack is trash with like 2 serviceable songs. The icons on the mini map are too big and make it difficult to see the road to take and which particular icon you want to move to.

    I've played a lot of this game and though i undoubtedly had some fun, i had a lot of frustration too.    … Expand

Spawning police cars behind you, crashing, losing your progress. All horrible. Terrible bugs that help you out (jumping inside water to get out of a pursuit i.e.) and a TINY single story mode (WITH the extras we are talking 7-8 hours tops). The game is bad. It is just so, so, so bad. The music is bad, the double tap drift is bad, everything is bad. Oh, and it is ALWAYS raining on this game. No reason, just because it looks cool I guess. The game is bad. Do not listen otherwise. I mean it. I paid 15 euros for it on sale, and regret every penny.… Expand

    Напрягает жесткая полиция. Особенно что нужно рейтинг набивать, а штраф за задержания огромный. Укрытий во время погони нет, как и способа оторваться как в моствонтед.     Been playing NFS games since 2005 and this one is definitely one of the best NFS games ever made. I don't know what else you people on this website want sometimes lmao. Nostalgia rose-tinted glasses, huh? Great customization, heap of cars and events, ability to play solo offline, not grindy at all. One of the best arcade racers.

    Terrible, terrible handling, cars can't decide whether they are "drifty", being very inconsistent on curves, plus your car will suck no matter what, being easily ousted even by a station wagon. and to make things worse, just by touching an inch of the sidewalk you will lose 75% of your speed in half a second and will need about 30 seconds to catch up.

As well as police only ever targeting your car in night time races and AI racers seemingly ramming/blocking you in races in ways that only benefit the AI who is leading to active the age old "catch up mechanic" that is in all racing games. EA you have seemingly perfected the art of making frustrating games as a opposed to challenging games. The worst part is I really want to enjoy this game more! The design/customization choices on cars is amazing, the fact that you can feel the different in the car when you make slight changes, even if the handling and racing is purely arcade-esq (I think I like that blends the elements of realism and fun fantasy). There is a lot to love about it but it is impossible to love because in is hamstrung by the fact that you seemingly couldn't make a challenge game so you just made it frustrating. Also the story **** but that is pretty much standard for any EA game whether it be the Journey in FIFA or any NFS story mode. You really hammer home the cliché you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter.… Expand

    Decent graphics, especially at night. It's a PS4-era game after all, we can't expect too much.
    Amazing car customization and tuning, it gives a lot of freedom to the player. You can swap engines, visual and mechanical parts, change the color of your nitro,    Need For Speed: Heat is overall a pretty good game which has some downsides, and is probably the best NFS since Rivals. Upsides:
    Decent graphics, especially at night. It's a PS4-era game after all, we can't expect too much.

    Good enough story mode for a racing game.
    Police actually poses a danger in this game, which is great and adds some challenge to night races.
    Big map with different interesting locations and regions.
    NFS: Heat is fairly well optimised and doesn't loose frames very often.

    Downsides:
    Much-to-be-desired car handling, sometimes it's unpredictable and too sensitive, which is a problem in a game about cars.
    Wonky physics
    Terrible drifting
    Poor multiplayer, you can't make player only races and the lobbies are quite small (8 players max.)
    No drag races, this may not be a probelm to some people including me, but I thought it's worth to mention.    … Expand

    It is a very cool game with a very cool aesthetic. It is pleasing to the eye, plus a very fun driving and mechanics. The almost total absence of micro-transactions is appreciated.

    Le pilotage reste fidèle à la franchise et la carte est de bonne taille bien que la variation des terrains ne soit pas énorme. La reproduction de Miami est correcte et on peut se sentir investi par l'atmosphère de la série.

    Côté voiture, le choix est énorme mais finalement, seules les voitures les plus puissantes sont intéressantes. La customisation est classique et les modifications techniques n'apportent rien de neuf.
    Côté IA, c'est le grand désastre : entre les autres pilotes qui auront le fair-play d'un joueur de football en vous rentrant dedans sans vergogne et la police qui semble n'avoir d'yeux que pour vous lors des courses poursuites de nuit. De plus, la police, malgré des voitures de puissance inférieure, n'aura aucun mal à vous rattraper, quelque soit les terrains. Impossible à semer sur terre mais aussi sur route. Pro du drift et du drag, impossible à distancer. Une IA très déséquilibrée donc qui ruinera l'expérience de jeu.
    Enfin, la durée de vie du jeu est courte si l'on exclut les habituelles chasses aux panneaux et challenges.

    I never was an enthusiast of a racing games. For some odd reasons I decided to buy one. With the advice of my friend, who I knew is into racing games, I put my money on Heat. It didn't dissapoint. Solid and stable game with a very accurate driving mechanics made me invested into it from the first hour of gameplay. The story is pretty basic but it's plausible. Gameplay is very good the driving feels perfected to it's core. The game itself has a lot of different types of races able to sustain player interest even after ending the main plot. The progression is a bit of a grind if you really want to check out every car that's available but it's nonetheless satisfying. It's a nice game with an open world and a lot of content to check out. If you look for a racing which you would stick with for a longer time this one is for you.… Expand

Now all EA needed to do is ruin the game somehow; with police: Super aggressive and will chase you any time you pass them, no matter if you are driving the speed limit or not. In a race or not.     The games pretty fun and the gameplays addictive. Graphics aren't as good as NFS 2016, and character models break immersion cuz they arent very detailed. The story is a bit of a mess as well.

    Need for Speed: Heat is the first good step for the franchise in years. Devoid of micro transactions, providing some Underground-like neon vibes with it’s best customization system, it can provide more than a dozen of hours of fun, despite it’s dead like world design and irrelevant and boring story.

    Again, I don’t think Need for Speed Heat does much to re-invent the wheel when it comes to open-world racing games, but it does help reset the franchise in a way that felt necessary at this point. It’s an enjoyable experience throughout, the story is entertaining if maybe a little too serious, and the overall progression path is well realized. If you’re hungry to get behind the wheel of a virtual car this season, Need for Speed Heat is likely going to be the game for you.
