Mar 1, 2018These games are important because, as the dominant entertainment industry, games are a way to inspire audiences to learn more about something, and the more people learn about cultures other than their own, the better. Mulaka might not be your favourite game in 2018, but what you take away from it will be far more valuable than the couple of hours of entertainment you'll get from it.

Feb 26, 2018Despite its cultural content and folklore context, Mulaka is a simple adventure game that still has to prove why it's different from other games in the genre.

Feb 26, 2018Lienzo’s Mulaka is an equally engaging and frustrating experience. The action-adventure game excels in its efforts to teach players unfamiliar with the Tarahumara people about the community’s culture through a beautiful narrative and exploration mechanics. However, the action aspect needs to be completely overhauled, as it offers enough issues to turn off prospective players.

Mar 6, 2018Mulaka is a different game, which let the player discover a very interesting folklore. Clearly inspired by games like Okami or The Legend of Zelda, it does not do anything that has not been done before. However, its use of low-poly style gives it a unique personality. A great example of edutainment.

Feb 26, 2018While I appreciated the insight into the folklore of the Taramuhara people, Mulaka as a game is about as average as an action adventure title gets. It’s got some great ideas lurking within, but the overall structure is incredibly dated and only really saved thanks to the subject matter. As a game, it’s not really doing much that hasn’t been done better before, but as a cultural insight, it has a lot to offer those interested.

Mar 5, 2018After playing Lienzo's highly underrated Hunter's Legacy, I was expecting a lot from Mulaka. Although it succeeds in having an engaging premise, it unfortunately fails to offer any satisfying gameplay.

Feb 26, 2018Mulaka has some neat ideas and a sometimes gorgeous look to it, but little else to offer. The individual locations fail to stand out, and the game quickly becomes overly formulaic. The combat is too sloppy to impress, the platforming is plagued by a stiff moving character, and the puzzles are never captivating. It’s a completely forgettable experience with a few really nice sights that are better experienced as screenshots.

Oct 31, 2018It is a very nice game, it has a very charming artstyle, and the setting and culture is just straight up beautiful. Short but very pretty.
