Cons: I can't play the Krypt. It feels like whomever signed off on the Krypt has not made a game since the PSP era. The motion blur implemented is straight from the last century and makes me nauseous to the point I feel like throwing up and need to lie down and sleep it off. It last -ten- hours. Part of it was my fault for ignoring it but I didn't think it would be so bad since it's you know, 2020 and technology has advanced. Also the camera is so zoomed in on the fighter. Who cares about the fighter, let me enjoy the MK environment. Why is this random traveler such a main focus point of the Krypt. Why is it not the lore and atmosphere? Why does the camera change all the time to zoom in on the chest I'm opening? I don't care. All it makes me do is re-adjust my stupid camera after every chest. It's so tedious I don't even want to open chests anymore. That and force moving the camera disorients me because it causes more motion blur and makes me sick. This Krypt is possibly one of the worst things this entire generation.

Sometimes I feel like the game is missing inputs from my controller when I use commands involving multiple buttons at once. Not just x and square but also things like diagonal jumping. Sometimes I only jump straight up into the air.

This could be from me not being good enough or using the wrong character but I couldn't convert anything from ducking low attacks which made me feel useless punishing people who keep rolling at me.

Of the online games I played none of them had a perfect connection and there was some modicum amount of lag involved despite me having a fast internet connection.

The DLC characters are somewhat hit and miss with some of them being far less interesting compared to others. Spawn is rad though.

Pros: Base story mode is great. It's akin to watching a movie. There's so much time between fights and time spent building out everything. It's easily one of the best story modes of any fighting game. The fighters in the story are all explained and have reason to be where they are.

One of the greatest fighting game tutorials that goes into incredible depth. It goes above and beyond the basic intro on how to play this specific fighting game but also introduces high level fighting game strategies and tech.
The amount of available frame data is fantastic and the hourglasses to display the timing for combos in the training is greatly appreciated.

The roster selection is more than almost any other fighting game and although I had no connection to some fighters I felt others very easy to pickup and play.
The combos are fairly simple to do once you get a hang of the timing the game is expecting and the special attack gauges this game employs are interesting since they separated the gauge to defense and offensive specific ones.

The DLC characters are solid, but the story expansion is definitely not worth $40. Aftermath consists of of 5 chapters that feel like you're playing the Decepticons campaign from the 2007 Transformers game, the story is solid, but ruined by the stupid logic of some characters. If you're thinking about buying it, just wait till they sell everything separately.

Totally overpriced and full of microtransactions. If you don’t have it, wait to the komplete edition or for a sale. The game is gorgeous, but too way violent and quite absurd: all girls are full dressed and all men are half-naked. It’s a shame that a good game now is reduced to a money beggar, like a cell game. This was my last MK at day 1. Next iteration, surely I will wait for a sale. Not a good way to treat your loyal customers / fans. NetherRealm / Warner: You’re killing Mortal Kombat. A good thing: Friendship finishers are beautiful and they’re very funny. Expand

Aftermath is a Kombat Pack with makeup. It is absurd for Mr. Ed Boon to launch such a slot. There have always been unlockable characters in past games. I was very happy with MK11, I even got it with the first batch of dlc. But this is overpriced, nearly the price of a full game! Wasnt happy with a barebones Tekken 7 and the poor dlc released and wont be coming back for 8. If MK11 makes same mistakes fleecing gamers I wont be back for 12

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Even for a MK fan since MK3, it sure may seems a lot to pay $40(AU $60) for me to pay for expansion pack. But after I finished the game I have to say MK11: Aftermath is a better story version of MK11. The story consists of 5 chapter that full of amazing story, character details and battle! They used some scenes from the previous MK11, which make its look recycle scene but the familiarity also adds another exciting elements to it! After all, they are going back through time to fix it.

What’s best about MK11:Aftermath is how they include all the original characters that is very important without much involvement of the new characters (Cassie, Jacqui, Erron Black, etc.)! It brings the nostalgia back and it reminds us why Shao Kahn, Sindel, and Shang Tsung are the best original villain of MK series!

    Hands down to MK11: Aftermath!

One only flaw is just that how Netherrealm studio makes us fan to pay big extra amount just for it! Though, again it’s worth it!

MK11 was a good game, with the inclusion of Aftermath it is still a good game. However for me personally, the games story is only there for fan service, nothing more. If that works for you, then great! It just didn't for me. However, if you would call yourself a hardcore Mortal Kombat fan then you probably already own this game, if you don't then you should! The gameplay isn't the best experience NetherRealm Studios have done (That would be MKX) but it is still quite fun and will keep you entertained. A final point would be that the accusations of abhorrent microtransactions are blatant lies! At no point does the game require additional purchases to acquire content, all of it can be earned in game. The microtransactions are there if you want to earn specific COSMETIC items faster than unlocking them yourself, which with the addition of Aftermath has been made quite easy. The game IS a grind if that's what you enjoy but the grind never feels overwhelming and in some ways isn't even really a grind. Overall, I enjoyed this game but I do hope the next entry improves where this game is lacking. Expand

This game is meh. Cool graphics, not bad battle system, medium story (but aftermath story is garbage).
Also I don't like game transformation into GaaS. Towers of Time (more like Waste of Time) is smoker's Challenge Tower, lol. Now is not fun CT from MK9.
The variations did not work in the previous game of the series, they do not work here either. Why do they keep making them at all?

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Kollection is a great re-release, including an interesting additional story that expands the game world and adds three cool characters, as well as a full “battle set” with six new fighters. All of them have their own unique features and are aimed at different audiences. The new chapters of the story are well-directed and represent a fascinating mini-series with breaks for gameplay. In addition, the new arenas, as well as the introduction of Stage Fatality and Friendship, will please old fans of the series.

Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath is a modern take on the "Game of the Year" collections that are common in the fighting genre. It has excellent new additions to the character roster and an even more twisted story. Adding that to the already existing content makes this package one of the most complete fighting games.
