    Mordheim: City of the Damned is a rewarding game for the right player, especially after a few rounds of skirmish matches when you understand the mechanics.

    Like its PC brother the console version of City of the Damned delivers challenging turn-based strategy. And like its PC brother it lacks technical finesse and precision. But that rarely impacts the fun.

    Mordheim: City of the Damned is exactly what I want from a Warhammer game. It has translated the table top game excellently to the PS4 and provides a brilliant example of turn based strategy gaming. Whilst there are some technical issues present the game is able to overcome these to offer a truly engaging experience.

    The biggest hurdle this game has other than the difficulty wall is how much time it requires. This isn’t a pick-up-and-play title, and a significant amount of time will be needed before the player will feel any real accomplishment. With so many other time-sinks already out there in the RPG genre, MCOTD may only find a cult, niche audience willing to devote the hours necessary to fully grasp just how deep the title runs.

    A finely tuned turn-based strategy effort that takes place in Warhammer’s grim Mordheim game universe, Mordheim is furiously enjoyable but it demands both patience and skill from its prospective armchair generals in spades.

    City of the damned more like City of the assed. Piss on your money whenever you think about buying this.

People who like Divinity and Xcom will love this. There’s a lot to do outside battles to manage your warband, which has to be carefully and smartly done before sending it to a mission. The tutorial is very useful to learn the basics of the gameplay, and more help is provided in the first missions of the campaign. Start with normal difficulty quests (use “scout” if none is available on the map) and improve the stats and skills of your warriors before trying hard or storyline missions.… Full Review »

On Xbox One X, arguably the most powerful console out there at the time of this review, load times are extreme, frame rates low, and character responsiveness is shoddy. Perhaps the most offensive part is the user interface. It’s the most cluttered, complex, and convoluted UI I’ve ever seen in 30+ years of playing video games. Mordheim is a frustrating experiene I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.… Full Review »
