    Metamorphosis is a solidly made puzzle-platformer with a few adventure mechanics on the side for good measure. Taking a literary classic that some consider to be interminable and creating a lively and amusing game world from it, the devs at Ovid Works have create a deeply creative work that delivers a satisfyingly original experience.

    It’s a bold release that they took a chance on. For the most part, they executed it decently. I wish more developers took on something oddball like this, as it does provide a unique journey that most wouldn’t have dreamed could be translated.

    Overall, Metamorphosis does a tremendous job in bringing to life the atmosphere characteristic to the works of Kafka, toning somewhat down the depressive and trying to put some fun into it. It is an adventure which substitutes the drama with a more light-hearted, but still surreal self-discovery walkabout. But it feels more like a quite short interactive experience, rather than a videogame. Metamorphosis lacks variety and cohesive gameplay, focusing too much on the story and the atmosphere. As such even the current price may seem a bit high for this unusual game. It is a surreal experiment which despite its intriguing source material, will never become a classic due to its dull inner workings.

La direction artistique est magnifique, le gameplay simple mais efficace, les décors sont vertigineux et les personnages magnifiquement écrits. Ils ont même designé des personnages issus des nouvelles les plus méconnues de l'auteur.

    Ce jeu est pour moi un chef d'oeuvre qui redonne ses lettres de noblesse au jeux vidéo comme outil culturel.    … Expand

    I really enjoyed playing this game, the scenarios are really cool, even when there is no much you can do beside exploring and trying toI really enjoyed playing this game, the scenarios are really cool, even when there is no much you can do beside exploring and trying to continue by solving the puzzles that are not really hard in fact, but for me it was not boring at all. I loved the world they created. I just wish there were more things to do inside the game, maybe secondary missions, or more things to discover while exploring, and also I would've liked that was longer. Either way, i think it's really enjoyable and fun.… Expand

    Metamorphosis is a little over 3 hour long first person adventure game that seems to be based off of the book the metamorphosis from the early 1900s
    Here you play as Gregor samsa who wakes up one day to find himself transformed into a bug, and naturally you set out to find out why and also how you can become a human again..
    During its first few moments I loved this game.. I always love the idea of playing games through different perspectives, especially the perspective of bugs so I was excited to see all this game had to offer, and it initially starts out with tons of charm in its world building, but as the game goes on you see more of the same, the world and level design becomes more stale and boring, instead of being in the forground and filling me with wonder, it just became the background of this first person platformer, which is a real shame.. another massive let down for me was the story, it was confusing and the ending left much to be desired, by the end I had no idea what the goal even was anymore and why certain charatcers were in predicaments they were in and what all of this was even supposed to mean, so there sadly isn’t even a good story to make up for a majority of a game that feels pretty mediocre…
    That bein g said metamorphosis does offer a unique experience, especially in the beginning.. at times this game does a great job of making you feel like an annoyed human transformed into a bug trying to get his old life back, but most of the time youll find yourself pushing through sections hoping that initial magic comes back, and sadly it doesn’t.
    I give Metamorphosis
