    Ok. They finally lost conscience.
    After they ask for money for the game, which is for the most part, done not well. They still ask for money for a slot of game saving. For additional party in game and etc. They specifically do so that there is more routine. And the usual things, without donate, took a long time. Even in a single.

Seconds are 10-15. I remind you, the main character is standing still. And so 10 times for the one cutscene.

    As someone eloquently put it on a Steam review for this game, this breaks down in to "Poke at enemies through a chain link    So what does one get when combining the worst aspects of Tom Clancy's: The Division (bland gameplay with mediocre gameplay mechanics) with Fallout 4 (sub-par "base building" mechanics), and the god awful pay-to-win scheme? This game right here, Metal Gear Survive.

    As someone eloquently put it on a Steam review for this game, this breaks down in to "Poke at enemies through a chain link fence Simulator". That is, if you aren't dealing with cheap deaths and nanomanaging food, water and oxygen (the first two items deplete way too fast and you are left scavenging for gerbils(!) for food and dealing with the consequences of drinking dirty water (good luck with dealing with that infection if/when you run out of antibiotics and you do not have access to an advanced medical station, all because you need an advanced cooking station to turn dirty water in to clean water and you don't get that soon enough.

    You're better off playing 7 Days to Die if you want a good experience in this genre. Don't waste your money on this garbage.    … Expand

    While not as bad as most people are rating it... well, it's still pretty bad. This is NOT metal gear in any kind of way, other than graphics and game engine (and references). Heck, Ghost Babel in Game Boy IS metal gear. This says a lot.

    Very bad move konami. I'd say you shot yourselves on the foot, but it was more of a headshot. Do buy this game, when it goes on the budget bin.     This is the worst game of 2018 so far. Whoever rates "positive" have no idea what games are.

    The sad truth is, this is one of the worst games that I have ever played. Nothing about it is fun, it feels like it was intentionally designed to make you hate yourself. The games first hour is almost all cutscenes with a little bit of gameplay thrown in. The thing about it is, things are happening on the screen but not of its actually interesting. It felt like poorly written fan fiction that was trying so hard to link this game to previous Metal Gear games.

    The gameplay itself is not much fun, I personally don’t really like survival games, to begin with, and this seems like a bad survival game as well. First off, I never want to play a game where I have to regularly be drinking and eating to stay alive. I don’t want that, that’s too tedious and it’s not fun. It’s also a loot based game where you run around and loot everything. I like that kind of mechanic as long its quick but in Survive it takes too long to loot. You walk up to the item, you hold down square (I was playing on my PlayStation 4) for 5 and a half seconds and then you have the item. If you kill 20 enemies in an area and want to loot all of them, it’s going to take 2-3 minutes to do that. It may not sound like that big of a deal until you do that over and over again. Oddly enough, that ended up being my breaking point for this game.

    My simple suggestion is, stay away. I knew this game was getting poor reviews and it was not very popular and that made me curious. Now I know, it’s a bad game and this is one of the worst games I have played the last 3 years.    … Expand

    Simple if you want a good survival game play Fallout 4 with mods..

    If the game wasn't trying to be hailed as a part of the Metal Gear franchise, it wouldn't be terrible. But everyone's said that. So I'd like to go over some of the things in the game I haven't seen in other reviews that make it rather horrible.

    THE GOOD: Same player mechanics that you had in MGSV, so it feels good to shoot, the controls are responsive. The game correctly punishes you for using loud weapons by having any nearby hordes rush to investigate the source of sound. So that's... encouraging stealthy play I suppose.

    THE NOT GOOD:

    FOOD/WATER MECHANICS / Okay, survival, fair enough. Food and drink makes sense. How it's executed however is clumsy at best. You manage food, water, and at points oxygen throughout the game. The bars drop at an excessive pace, meaning that you spend way too much time in the not intuitive inventory system fumbling through food. Which, by the way, has the most OBNOXIOUS eating sound I've heard in a video game. Every 5-10 minutes you get the joy of listening to someone chewing and groaning into a mic.
    ALSO, if you allow your food/drink to reach below 20%, your screen starts going fuzzy and out of focus at regular intervals. It's extremely pervasive and disrupting to watch. Literally gave me a headache. You'd think that the skill trees would have something to slow down hunger and thirst buildup, but I've yet to see it. Meaning you can't increase the amount of time between eating/drinking.

    OXYGEN / A big part of the game is played in an environment the player cannot breathe in, meaning you need an oxygen tank. A small, not upgradeable, short-life span, BREAKABLE air tank.

    VOICE ACTING / All the VA for the characters is mediocre, which isn't the end of the world. BUT the MOST ACTIVE voice you hear is that of your friendly AI. This wouldn't be so bad if they didn't choose the MOST ANNOYING voice for it I've heard in my long years. Imagine a 13 year old in the 80's imitating what he thinks a robot sounds like. The halting, awkward speech patterns, and inflection on all the wrong parts in a sentence. Every time you take up a new mission you have to sit through this dumbass voice.

    GAME LORE PACING / The lore is not given at good intervals to properly look through and listen to it. In the first camp you investigate you get a 4:45 minute long audio recording from a previous researcher. The trek back to home base takes 30 seconds. This means that you're still listening to the voice recording long after finishing the mission and returning to your base, this bad foresight is compounded by that the dumbass AI voice will just chime in randomly as well, giving you TWO bored voice actors to listen to at once. Yay.

    CO-OP / The coop mode is what I bought this game for, and it isn't worth it. I was expecting a game that could be played fully co-op, up to and including exploring the wastes of the world with my friends. Not the case. You are teleported to a very limited horde mode style map, which is ripped out of the single player world to boot. If you want to buy this for coop, just don't buy it.

    Enemy AI / Zombies are dumb, fair enough. But the arbitrary stupidity in pathing is crazy. Any player made object you throw up, instead of pathing around it, the enemy AI will simply attack the object. In a bind? Throw up a 4 foot section of chicken wire fence and the zombies will not be able to get around it. Regardless of where you put the fence. It doesn't have to be a choke point. I put a fence down in the middle of the desert, and the AI wouldn't go around it instead preferring to attack the fence to destruction.    … Expand

    if they made a game that didn't have anything to do with metal gear and it's universe, it would probably be a 7 or an 8, probably even a 9 if they made it really awesome, but no, it feels like either they were too pretentious to think they could just do whatever they wanted, or like if they wanted to ruin kojima's legacy or just kill the franchise while making money out of it....

    with that said, i don't know if the game is bad or not, maybe it is, maybe it isn't, so i'll just leave a neutral score, as i said before, i just wanted to explain the context behind all the hate...
    i think you should give it the benefit of the doubt ( if it isn't too insulting for you xD )
    maybe try to picture it like something not cannon or maybe imagine is an alternate timeline or something, i think that if you actually get past that, it could be enjoyable or fun at least...

    This game is just Konami trying to get profit and overall try to make a Metal Gear game without Kojima. Both have failed, but don't worry, Konami will never give up on digging their grave deeper and we might even see some more failed attempts of games in the future. Remember Silent Hill? We're all doomed.

This is nothing more than a shameless cash grab while using the Metal Gear name as an eye-catcher, avoid this absolute mess of a game unless you love being paywalled behind almost everything relevant in the game, almost EVERYTHING costs real money in this game.

    We may never get another legitimate metal gear game because of what konami have done, they get a 0 for even attempting to continue the property they killed. I'll always miss the real metal gear solid.

    It's not the worst thing ever created, but that doesn't mean it's any good either. Overall this game was extremely boring with no interesting mechanics that will keep it from getting stale. The only good thing about this game is that it ran well for me. But that is it.

The food is far away from the base and you can't eat it when you get it. You have to walk back to your base. I could go on and on about this disgusting game but I'm wasting my time as it is.… Expand

    I really hate to be one of those guys on here (especially since I never even played the game admittedly), however the reason why I never picked it up and played it was because I would feel dirty. Like a million showers wouldn't be able to clean off the cakes of dirt I would be clad it even I even touched this game.

    Simply put, you get one save slot. How do you get more? You have to pay    I really hate to be one of those guys on here (especially since I never even played the game admittedly), however the reason why I never picked it up and played it was because I would feel dirty. Like a million showers wouldn't be able to clean off the cakes of dirt I would be clad it even I even touched this game.

    Simply put, you get one save slot. How do you get more? You have to pay $10 real dollars in order to get more!

    Ever since the early days of gaming, you NEVER had to pay more money to get more then one save slot! Even if you had to be a cent to get more save slots, I would still hate on the game. You shouldn't have to pay ANYTHING to get more save slots.

    I can only justify if it is a free-to-play game, because they need to make some kind of money, but where I live this game costs $54 dollars.

    Again, I hate to be one of those guys on here who will blindly hate a game just because they don't like it, but I feel like it is justified in this case. If you have to pay money to get a game, then you have pay more money to get extra save slots, that is enough for a game to get a zero for me.

    This may be the worst game I've ever played. Re-used assets from The Phantom Pain half-assed into some kind of zombie survival with terrible mechanics. Do not spend money on this.

    The game is boring, you have to grind aprox 15 hours to get things going and then, it´s more of the same, you want a good survival game go buy state of decay, thats an awesome game, this is not fun and on top of it all... 9.90 usd to get a second save slot? wtf, with a 1 im givin away to much score.

    All these new added fees are ridiculous. If I buy a game, I expect to be able to use it unreservedly, and without having to spend more to unlock certain parts of it that are hiding behind a pay-wall.

    So for now, no more Konami games for me. At all.

    I'll also be boycotting EA games (ultimate team add-ons tied in to in-game trophies; as well as the Battlefront 2 lootbox debacle) and also Capcom based on Street Fighter 5, which I bought incomplete on release and which tried to sell me the characters that should be in the game.

    I hope I don't have to add Rockstar to the list. But they're walking a very thin line with this whole GTA V online currency situation.

    The point is that if we keep buying, they will keep using these ridiculous stratagems to get our money, instead of working hard to make more games that we could buy. I mean, who could blame them? If we're dumb enough to give them our money, they'd be crazy not to take it!    … Expand

    The game is mediocre at best (as a stand alone game) but as a Metal Gear game it's really bad, even if it is just a spin off it's still bad, and what pissed me off the most is the inclusion of the scene from MGS V Ground Zero at the beginning...like why?

    And then the kicker that everyone's been rightfully outraged about: the endless and unnecessary amount of micro-transactions that limit your saves and inventory. I don't think I need to try and explain why this is not okay.

    If you are one of those people that are considering buying this game or bought it and legitimately enjoyed it, please raise your standards and look elsewhere, you deserve better than the Konami treatment and are better off finding other games, and if you think buying this game will support Metal Gear developers, then I'm sorry to say but that wont happen, I wouldn't be surprised if Konami demoted them by now given how shady their practices have been as of late.

    Left 4 Dead is good if you want an actual zombie game, The Last of Us 2 is coming out fairly soon if you want a brand new survival game, and Monster Hunter World is apparently at a 1,000% better value than this game considering you have more free saves and a 500x bigger inventory.

    Metal Gear Survive... Is not one of those. The second you see content blocked behind a paywall, privileges such as a second save file, and a SINGLE microtransaction, that should prove that the publisher isn't interested in making the game of their dreams. They have no passion behind their project if they're just looking to make easy money. So why should anyone have to show appreciation for them? If they don't care, why should I?
    Konami, you were one of the ultimate developers back then, but now, you're for a fact THE worst company ever when it comes to gaming. You have employees go through hell to make your games, you kill beloved franchises that made Konami #1, you bite the hands that fed you, and you harassed a former employee, forbidding him to take his award for a game he spent thousands of hours on. You deserve ALL the flack you get from the community and more.

    Alright, the game itself, it's mere existence is a slap in the face to the fan base of a masterpiece of a franchise known as Metal Gear. But even the actually game is nothing special. Forgettable story, bland characters, sluggish and stiff gameplay, bad graphics, dry voice acting. The game is so bad it doesn't even deserve the attention it gets for being so bad. The only reason Konami thought this game would do anything for them was because they hopped they could get some ppl buying the game because the Metal Gear name is on the box. But gamers know better. Shame on you Konami. The world would be better off if you had just went away and stopped trying.

    What can i even say about this game? Not only that it turn out to be the desastrous lunch and a bigger of a disgrace spinoff for the entire franshise but also an insult to the loyal fans from the original metal gear till the Phantom Pain came out back in 2015. Screw KONAMI. Hope they can learn from this, big time.

    The only good thing was the intention, but the execution was horrible. I just find it torture to play this for more than 3 hours, an extremely tiring, slow and repetitive game.

    Is Metal Gear Survive worth it? Oh yeah, totally. Game of the Year. Honestly, I don’t know why you haven’t bought it yet! Death Stranding won’t be able to compete with this. Sarcasm aside, don’t buy this game, just don’t. Yeah, the environments and visuals are kind of neato and the feeling of helplessness certainly comes across, but it’s just a clusterf**k.

    The whole existence of Metal Gear Survive closely resembles this of the Wanderers – the game’s zombies. With the story, characters and wit ripped out completely off it’s body, what remains is a lifeless yet standing shell of Metal Gear Solid V. The decent (and borrowed) survival mechanics barely keep this husk walking around aimlessly with no purpose whatsoever. Survive may not be a bad survival game, but the merciless grind required and lack of respect for gamers’ time are inexcusable.
