Jan 2, 2018Megaton Rainfall gives you the entire planet to take care of and, while it can be an overwhelming responsibility at times, it’s one that I find myself stepping up to time and time again.
-
Oct 25, 2017To truly get that cosmic Superman feeling, this is one game you want to play in virtual reality.
-
Nov 2, 2017Due to its repetitive nature and mediocre graphics, Megaton Rainfall will never be up there among the giants. Yet it's still a thoroughly enjoyable VR-title.
-
Oct 31, 2017Megaton Rainfall has a very interesting concept, and we've had a lot of fun with it. It's a shame it gets a little bit repetitive over time and visually doesn't hold up, but overall it's quite enjoyable.

Oct 29, 2017To play Megaton Rainfall is to inhabit a flying superhero like nothing else in VR.
-
Oct 25, 2017Megaton Rainfall is a game of incredible scale and there aren’t many titles that let you go off exploring a large universe quite like this, when you aren’t blasting alien invaders out of the sky. In VR it is quite a spectacle, though that can’t shield it from the fact that it’s quite a basic shooting gallery experience whether on TV or in VR. Megaton Rainfall is very much worth checking out if you have VR, but even without that side of things you have a decent enough superhero simulator.
-
Oct 25, 2017Megaton Rainfall checks the immense power of a god with the civil responsibility of an altruist. It's a strong pairing, and one that only fails through the volatile application of its singularity. Playing god can be exhausting when you're only capable of indistinct destruction.

Oct 19, 2017While Megaton Rainfall may have bitten off more than it can chew in regards to the stage it takes place on, the alien-fighting action is a fantastic spectacle. Buildings crumble dynamically, shockwaves ripple the earth, zippy little enemies fly out of massive motherships and I even failed a mission once when a laser cut the entire planet in half. The enemies are constantly changing, with new ones showing up all the way to the final mission, and while there are only nine missions total each one is memorable. The only truly weak part is the story, which left me hoping there’s an alternate ending somewhere I haven’t seen yet. With the size of the universe away from Earth it’s hard to imagine that all the action is focused on one little globe circling a yellow star on the outside of an arm of a pretty galaxy. More likely, though, it’s the mark of a good game that, when the fighting is done and all that’s left is score attack and Hard mode, it still leaves you wanting another epic battle against the destructive alien threat.

Jan 22, 2018Megaton Rainfall tries to pass a god-like experience which fails even on VR. It got the right base with community eager to super-hero games that will break boundaries. Despite all that, The game isn't fun enough, it just left me with a huge VR-sickness and tied-up cables.

Jan 5, 2018Towards the end of the game, the mechanics finally start playing with its stratospheric scale. It’s here that Megaton Rainfall’s potential becomes more apparent. The scored aspects are largely botched by dull and awkward mechanics, but the sandbox portion is incredible. If you just do what this god tells you, you’re in for a mediocre experience. But when you learn where the real fun is, it becomes something more. Hopefully, we’ll one day see a game like this that uses its scale as part of the scored challenge. Until then, pick this up when you see it on sale. The feeling it gives you is just too special to miss.
-
Nov 16, 2017Megaton Rainfall is not a terrible game; for an indie superhero title, it does a lot of things great, but the problem is that the few flaws that it offers make one overlook all that it does great. Nonetheless, Megaton Rainfall succeeds in providing the best first-person superhero gaming experience that AAA studios have failed to deliver so far.
-
Nov 21, 2017Megaton Rainfall is an interesting concept and good idea on a paper, but in reality things are not so great. Mediocre gameplay and solid graphics with story that is rather nonexistent are not worth your time.
-
Oct 22, 2017Megaton Rainfall is an incredible accomplishment, but not one that we particularly liked to play. The sense of scale is outstanding – and it’s even more impressive with PlayStation VR – but the cumbersome combat grates almost as badly as its cringe-inducing storyline. It would appear that even being a literal god isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
