    First off don't go into this game expecting it to be a "Madden Killer" because its not (and truthfully no one will be) and for all theFirst off don't go into this game expecting it to be a "Madden Killer" because its not (and truthfully no one will be) and for all the complaining you'll hear about Madden...Canuck's first PS4 offerings is by far worse!

    Let's talk controls

    Have you played a football game where the players exclusively control to the joystick? I hadn't till this game and it makes steering the players a lot harder than it should be. Changing players is another matter.

    Have you ever seen a football game where to switch to another player you have to use shoulder buttons? Before this game I didn't either and that is just BEYOND clunky for the average consumer. Its like the company didn't know who they wanted to make this game for so they made the most absurd control scheme that some people will outright shill for as being "responsive"...what?!

    The replay system in this game is also janky.

    Wanna watch how a play happened when someone broke for a big gain? You can do that!

    BUT

    Want to watch how a big touchdown happened that could have swung the game in another team's favor? Nah fam...can't do it!

    Now the game DOES have actual football to talk about with exhibition and Season play and honestly...you'll have more fun doing play by play (in the absence of actual PBP) than playing the game. Heck if you wanted to play a longstanding football series (warts and all) that would actually be kind of decent go look at Madden. Heck I'm gonna drop $30 on Madden 18 just because I need a good football game to play after messing with this game

    Now before people start defending this game let's get this out of the way

    "You're just a Madden fanboy"

    I haven't played a Madden since...I want to say 07-08 and it was because the difficulty that EA put the Superstar mode up to was beyond ridiculous. I have also played a lot of other games over the years as I have been a gamer since I was about 6 so I think I have the qualifications to say what I feel makes a good game or not

    Like here is the reality: Can Maximum be good as the franchise moves on? Yes! Is it there now? No but I do have some hope...just for now Its far from being the best!    … Expand
