What’s different this time around when you play Mafia III? We’re getting straight to the action as we tell Lincoln’s tale. Faster, Baby! takes place alongside events in the game… but in an entirely new town and with new gameplay experiences. A civil rights leader is murdered while investigating local sheriff, Walter “Slim” Beaumont. Other activists are next on the list – and it’s up to Lincoln and Roxy Laveau (daughter of Charles “The Voice” Laveau) to get to the bottom of what’s happening. As for Sinclair Parish – it may be fictional, but it’s based upon how a few towns used to be, says Hangar 13’s Narrative Director, Bill Harms. It’s a place where some folks tried to preserve a narrow-minded way of life. Minorities weren’t welcome, especially after dark. “Just like the main game, we wanted to capture a snapshot of a specific time and place in American history, and let the player experience it.” Since Sinclair Parish is a small rural township in the countryside near the Bayou, expect lots of opportunities to tear through turns, jump gaps and run from the law. Harms adds, “The gameplay is really centered around driving and pushing that as far as possible, while also feeling like a natural extension of the free racing DLC we released not too long ago.” [2K Games] Expand

Mafia III Faster, Baby! continues the strong narrative of the core game. Unfortunately, it deals with much of the same technical issues. Nevertheless, the amount of new content should stand for another few hours of fun.

I would have expected more of the first batch of missions which are also, unsurprisingly, the most fun and best written.

Probably my favourite out of the three DLC, but that's mainly for the characters and the story, which is harrowing at parts and funny in others.

Quite short at just a few hours, and the new area it opens up is empty and boring, but the missions that are packed in as part of the story make good use of the space its got. That side mission at the end with the weed growing seemed interesting but turned into a massive fetch quest, and with Mafia III's huge problem of no fast travel, this got old very fast.

I wonder where to start with this first DLC.

First of all it's pretty short for what it's worth. 15 dollars is by far too much for this.
I wonder where to start with this first DLC.

First of all it's pretty short for what it's worth. 15 dollars is by far too much for this. Now I even regret buying the deluxe edition with the season pass because I don't see the next 2 DLCs to be any better than this, however I hope I'm wrong.

Secondly, the story, oh man, this wasn't good. The characters were boring and basically pointless, I couldn't care less about them and no wonder I couldn't when it was like 2 hours to finish it.

Next is the new part of the map. It's nice that they've decided to do that, but it's still empty and basically dead, except for the stunt part, however it's fun like once or twice and that's it.

To end this review, I can't say one nice thing about it. All in all it's a very poor adition to a very poor game (well at least the main story of the base game was a lot of fun and interesting, which I definetely can't say about this one). 5/10
