    If I could give this a negative score I would. Not to mention the players look ridiculous as they run, and with the same animations we've seen the past 5 years. The stadiums and crowds looked better on last gen consoles. This is embarrassing.

    Releasing games with minimal, cosmetic changes to it and charge for them full retail price as for a completely new product should be banned and prosecuted. I am not even starting here on ridiculous monetization aspects of it concentrated on exploitation of modern, let's be honest not very smart kids....

    this game sucks. Animations, tackling, etc, the "roboqb is back"; Blake Bortles can go 24-25 against a top tier defense. EA is a joke and Madden is a joke. Madden truly haven't been good since '08. Honestly save your money and buy NBA2K.

    Bad, bad game. Games fee scripted. If you go near a SS who is a star underneath him you will fumble the ball even if you cover it up. Joey Bosa will always get 5 sacks a game even if you double team him. I’ve played madden since 2003 and this is the worst one yet. Do not pay money for this game. We cannot allowing EA to keep making **** games.

It never saved the progress and it’s the most frustrating thing ever. I have a scrambling QB whose speed is on 99 yet the linebackers are waaaay faster than my QB and tackle him always immediately when they are in pursuit of me scrambling outside the pocket. I loved madden but I uninstalled this garbage. Idk how IGN keeps giving this game an 8/10 year after year smh… Expand

    Same game as last few years I wish they would put efforts like the 2l franchise. Focus on what players want, customization, new game modes, realism. This year was disappointing idk how they keep doing it.

I can’t even make a list of everything wrong with this game. You have monopolized football fans and now the whole world hates you. Everything you added was shallow and not even fun!!!     I loved Madden so much for so long, since they can't make a game with any depth, I went ahead and bought an xbox original and PS2 so I can play games that are fun and make sense. Games that were made to seem like they actually cared about the players, not the same thing with the same problems year after year.

    How so little effort can be put into improving a game is astounding. EA cashes in year after year on people who have never had the chance to see what a real football game could look like. Madden was best in '08 when they made it immersive. Thanks for the garbage, EA. It sure is in the game.

    The Madden franchise relies on probability and mathematical formulations rather than physics, meaning a ball is thrown up in the air to your best receiver who is wide open, he may drop it because mathematically he only has a 92% chance of catching it and a random number generator rather than user skill decides the outcome of many plays.

    Beyond the horrible unresponsive gameplay, every single menu is delayed, because it has to look through 10 years of bad code just to load a simple screen.

    This game ignores every mode to filter you into the Pay to Play mode, which preys on kids and adults with addiction tendencies.
    This mode is designed to make you spit out a never ending stream of money as new players are released daily, and unless you do not require sleep or any other activity other than playing this game, the only way to acquire them is by spending real world money to acquire coins which then turn into another digital currency and so on and so on.

    In the Madden 20 pay to play mode however, you cannot simply "buy" an item, you have to GAMBLE for lower items, then combine them into bigger items which can then be "auctioned" and combined to obtain an item.

    EA calls this surprise mechanics, but it is gambling. An average pack is $2-5 but better value bundles of packs can range up to $100 and absolutely nothing is guaranteed.

    If they advertise a limited time top tier card, the odds are approximately 1 in 4,705.903, to obtain that card in a random pack but they advertise a guaranteed mid tier card "or better", not revealing the odds, so you spend $1000 in a modern day carnival prize scam.

    In conclusion, this is a very poorly designed game. It has a ton of bad code piled on top of each other, the game play is extremely choppy and unpredictable and has numerous fundamental flaws, and they only mode they attempt to up keep up is designed to suck as much money as possible as fast as possible from your bank account.

    The critics may be paid to give Madden 20 a bunch of 8s and 9s but I'm not,

    Garbage ass game. Receivers drop every pass, you have less than 2 seconds to throw the ball but quarterbacks have a full second throwing animation so you can’t make a proper read, and receivers still drop possession catches. Horrible game I promise do not buy

People glitch the same plays, same players. It’s not even football. I get in to grind challenges I cheese to win, then build a team that can’t win vs any money spent or really in general because the fumbles and game is so broken. So yeah, never ever reviewed a game, this is my first. Please do not buy this and please do not spend money on mut. It’s not worth it whatsoever. Go play ANY other game that will actually bring you enjoyment. Don’t break controllers or get frustrated you could have a stroke just because your player freezes halfway through the turf and the other team easily walks it past them. Just go buy another game. Any other game. Not this one. I haven’t even mentioned the degraded and inexplicably terrible franchise mode they have. It’s even more of a joke. The funny thing is many of the glitches have been in previous games which is proof that either they don't know what they are doing or don't care. Bare bones features. Why is it that Madden 07, 08 is more immersive than Madden 20? Why are these features not in Madden at this point:

Why is it that Madden 07, 08 is more immersive than Madden 20? Why are these features not in Madden at this point:

    -Training camps
    -Position battles
    -Contract hold outs
    -Player moral
    -Supplementary draft
    -Compensatory picks
    -Retirement page so I know who the hell retired without thumbing through my roster
    -Offensive/Defensive coordinators, actual coaches, retired players becoming coaches
    -Mouth piece (damn shame)
    -Players wearing practice jerseys and shorts during practice
    -Pricing food, parking, etc in franchise mode
    -I think you could create a fan as well
    -Offline fantasy draft
    -Chris Berman half time show (rumbling bumbling stumbling his way into the end zone)
    -Different game day announcers

    I could go on forever.

    Its obvious that they are pushing you towards their crappy MUT mode to spend more money. This game has regressed and anyone that says otherwise clearly never played older Madden games. Still can just run cross-routes and inside zone the entire game with no problems. This game is terrible. EA does not care about us. A prime example is shown by the fact that on the practice field, it still has a banner that still says “Madden 19” on it, even after a couple patches. On top of this, when called out, they had to ASK what field it is, despite the practice field being the only field in the game that does not have full stands (which you can clearly see). It’s absolutely embarrassing. Stick to the 2k football games, Madden 10-12, or anything from the 360/ps2 days. Absolutely not worth your time or money. Horrific game considering the scale of the company creating it, hardly worth considering a triple-A title. Tl;Dr: Horrific video game, it’s depressing that we still have games from 15+ years ago significantly better than today’s game. Do not buy this game or any Madden until EA gets their **** together.     The worse Madden to date! EA continues to show they are more focused on soaking people's wallets via microtransactions than they are on creating a good game. Franchise as gotten worse and the game now has more bugs in it than Madden 19. After being promised that Madden would be bug free we found out that's a lie. Stay away from this dumper fire of a game.

The game premeditates kick blocks and punts, forces animations on bad plays, and adding back the pro bowl isn’t an improvement if you can’t play the pro bowl because all the players are wearing the same team helmet. The X factors make the players act like they have superpowers, which means more animation based play. If I’m going to play this game or any future generations of the game, it will have to be completely stripped down and remade from the coding up. I don’t care if I have to wait a year. I will never buy another madden if they can’t simply do that. As Football fans, we deserve better gameplay. I’ll be taking my business to Doug Flutie.     Madden has reached a new low. Unbelievably glitchy, inconsistent, frustrating and sometimes downright baffling gameplay, and a criminal lack of attention to detail. As a dude who grew up loving and playing these games, I can say with 100% certainty that I am never buying another madden until EA actually gives half a s**t about their product.

CPU defenders will stop on a dime, turn around with their backs to you at first, not even looking at the receiver or ball and pick you off even if you made the right read passing. The reason why Madden doesn't care about franchise mode is because they don't want their customers spending time in the mode, they rather you spend your time in a mode called ultimate team where they hope you will spend REAL LIFE MONEY on virtual crap. So for the first time I put madden down for a month and a half. I decide to play it last night and today. At this point in the season I’m 7-0 I see the system says auto saving I allow it to run the process to make sure it’s not user error. I close the application the correct way. Later I come back and here I am week 3 of my season at 3-0 after yet having another big game. It was so frustrating to see that, on top of the superstar abilities not working how they should! I’ve turned the accelerated clock off in the settings just for it to still be on during gameplay. I go to check after the game and as I thought I did turn it off but that did not matter because we were given an incomplete product. I truly believed madden made a strive for the better which is why I even purchased the game this year just to find out I was wrong...same menus, same commentary, same everything. You are better off not buying this game and playing other versions as this is the worst madden I have played. I don’t know how anyone can play this competitively this game is garbage.… Expand

    It's buggy like no other. The QB wind up is so long that you cant make a quick pass to save your life. The passing is a joke, your WR can be wide open and your QB can be standing still and you dont even touch the stick just use a touch pass and he will throw it nowhere near the WR i wasted money on this game and i wont be buying another Madden game again

But my 90 overall receiver gets intercepted when they are ahead 4 to 5 steps. It's a wonder how teams that gets Molly whopped in real life, come up with spectacular wins on the game.     Unbelievably unbalanced. The game just isn't worth your time. I've been playing the game since Madden 15 and it has gotten miserably bad. EA's scheme is logical. Give the big names the big abilities and everyone will be excited to use their favorite character. What that leads to is the devs not knowing how to implement these abilities, and a poor execution at fixing more major gameplay flaws.

    Terrible, they keep adding old game modes back and saying there new and the gameplay is horrible. Animations are terrible and all they care about is ultimate team.

    Absolute rubbish from EA yet again, never ever ever buying Madden again, just gonna wait for 2K to release a real football game no matter how long that will take I'm willing to wait.

    Don't leave a nasty review when you go to EA help, they lock you out of your account almost immediately. This game is a complete was of money and I strongly encourage no one to ever by any game made by EA again, one bust after another and all they care about is making money.

    Madden NFL 20 is still one of the best videogames if you want to simulate any sport but it's very clear that it needs more: more graphics, more gameplay changes, more news in its modes... X-Factor is a good new, but still insufficient to sense that gameplay is different that last year's edition.

    Madden NFL 20 takes a step in the right direction and I really enjoyed the X-Factor additions to the series. While I still think some form of competition would force EA to make more drastic changes, I’m not optimistic with any developers taking a spin with the football genre (maybe the XFL?). If you haven’t caught the pigskin for a few seasons, Madden NFL 20 is the right route to run for this year. With the new consoles coming (most likely) next holiday, I’m looking forward to seeing what EA builds upon from Madden NFL 20 and brings over to next gen. For now I’ll enjoy taking the Broncos to the Super Bowl, while beating up the cover pretty boy, Mahomes (not bitter at all).
