    I couldn’t force myself to even buy the game so I waited for my cousin to buy it and thank goodness I didn’t...it really is a carbon copy of last years game...please someone who’s in charge let’s let 2K games make an NFL game!

Accessories are laughable no loose sleeves or mouthpieces, can’t put hand warmers or towels on the players back hip. Franchise in large part has been ignored with little to no updates.     The game is extremely glitchy fixing little to none issues from previous games. Face of the Franchise is basically Franchise mode but only with cut-scenes in the beginning (might I add not great). Nothing is as good as it used to be as it was in Madden 07. DO NOT PLAY I LITERALLY THREW MY CONTROLLER BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF GLITCHES THAT HAPPENED IN ONE GAME. SO DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

    Added the ability to play pro bowl and superstar abilities. Both were features in older versions of madden. EA continues to remove features and add them back in later and call it new. Franchise mode takes a back seat again. They make millions every year and continue to put out the same game. Nothing will change as long as we continue to buy the games.

    If you want a good football game, you're out of luck. They have not added enough for it to be worth $60 or even any discount price. The improvements made on this game would have been a monthly update/patch on any other game. You get Face of the Franchise and Pro bowl, which were both in the game in older maddens. There is really nothing new and not worth the money at all.

You don't even need to compare this to 2k5, as Madden 08, a game made 12 years ago, holds more depth and detail (as well as better gameplay) than Madden 20.     EA continues to put profit before people when they continue to disregard what the fans have been asking for year in and year out. The franchise pales in comparison to Madden 08 or 2k5 in regards to depth, and we continue to be without create-a-team for some reason, isolating the more creative sports gamers.

    Face of the Franchise is "okay", but becomes repetitive and unrealistic. (Yeah, like Tom Brady is going to message a rookie before gameday)

    I am happy I cashed in a free rental for this game, as I wouldn't honestly pay $20 for this game, much less $60.    … Expand

    I'm glad to see the low user review scores, the Madden community is hopefully starting to wake up. They release the SAME GAME EVERY YEAR. All the new things they added this year were in previous games and were taken out. That's not a new feature! Last year they made around 800 million on Madden, where is that money going?     Literally same thing as the last 5 years. Wow they added the pro bowl BACK to the game and added X-factors that were already kind of in the game in the past.

    This game has some of the worst Animations I've seen a sports game. It ruins the emergion when you're playing and players can't be tackled. I can't recommend any buy this game because of poor gameplay and lack of meaningful and depth game modes

    I’ve been playing madden for 30 years. Extremely Disappointed. They simply repackaged Madden 19 into this. I rented it from redbox, played one game and returned it. EA clearly is looking for transaction revenues (new rosters and trading cards) at the expense of solid game development. Capitalism at its best. No pride in your product, just make as much as you can. Live off your name for years.

    Many overpowered Players like Hopkins Ort Donald, Kick Return often results in a TD through glitches, sometimes you cant tackle receivers, juke moves are too overpowered

    Trash... look at its score, the game speaks for itself. Exact same madden as 2019. A couple of updates and a piss poor QB1 : Franchise mode that’s garbage. I’m sick of spending my money on this and realistically if there any other nfl football games out I WOULD NEVER buy another madden again.

Inaccurate passes out of nowhere that go straight to a defender, quarterback not letting go of the ball when you throw it so that he gets sacked, touchdowns counting when the player clearly didn’t get into the end zone, touchdowns that should’ve counted not counting, and microtransaction bs.Made an account just to rate this game.     Every year it always seems to be something wrong or just off with madden. Its a shame when the players on the field put out a great product week in and week out... and this is what they get in return. Its embarrassing, maybe one year we can get the madden game we want and deserve.

    Awful servers. Game is always down. Can’t play even play franchise mode. EA won’t acknowledge the problem and only sends you to EAHelp who openly lie to you. They told me they would have everything fixed in an hour. Guess what it didn’t happen. It’s been over 12 hours since then and the servers are still down. Gameplay is ok.     Animation driven none sense. It doesn't have any dynamic physics to it, the running animations look abysmal. Wrong animations play all the time. Animation chains just aren't a thing anymore. The game has literally lost all of its smoothness. The only reason I didn't give it a 0 is because when you pause the game and have it hold a still frame, it looks nice graphically. But that is it.     This isn’t a football game at all! They pay NO attention to how the game is actually played and put all their time and effort into MUT. Superstar KO is pointless. Franchise is still neglected. QB1 is pointless after your college games. Very redundant game thanks to scripted gameplay and horrible AI, which makes it boring after one season of franchise (if you even get that far).

    This game is quite literally the worst game I’ve ever played in my entire life. Most of my losses aren’t against my opponent, they’re from EA themselves! Let me explain. The general rule of any game, Madden specifically, is this: If your IQ of football exceeds to that of your opponent, you’ll know from the beginning of the game and you should automatically be put in a position to winThis game is quite literally the worst game I’ve ever played in my entire life. Most of my losses aren’t against my opponent, they’re from EA themselves! Let me explain. The general rule of any game, Madden specifically, is this: If your IQ of football exceeds to that of your opponent, you’ll know from the beginning of the game and you should automatically be put in a position to win because of your knowledge. You’ll know which defensive coverages will beat certain offenses, which offensive adjustments will beat certain defenses, and so on; That type of knowledge + some actual skill at the game should give you the win, but what lies between you and victory isn’t your opponents clutch genes, it’s the silly animations that EA has implemented in their game and the literal low IQ of the players on the football field. I cannot express how many yards I’ve given up simply because my defensive back wouldn’t make an effort to extend his arms to reach for the football when it was thrown directly to him. Many of the times, they won’t even jump. There has also been countless times when blockers will not block for a runningback or quarterback and will allow the tackle. Animations are a huge part of why players on the field have no IQ. If the game has already set forth the animation that is supposed to take place, nothing can stop it from progressing. This has caused a glitch in the game where even when the ball has left his hand, the quarterback will get sacked no matter what if the animation for getting a sack has ensued, (the ball will just warp back to his hands and he’ll be sacked). In this football game, your player could have just been tackled, fumbled the ball, the ball would then somehow begin to roll on his back for 30 seconds, he along with the person who tackled him would be stuck in an animation to stand up while 10 other players scramble for the ball, making a dogpile on his back as no one is able to pick the ball up and eventually, the ball is juggled 40 yards down field and your offensive lineman would end up picking the ball up at the 1 yard line. In other times, the ball would be dropped on your player’s head and he’d be cluelessly running in a circle with the ball on his head until another player grabs it or it falls to the ground. This is the silliness of this game. Any effort to win that you could make in this game could go straight out the window at any given moment. What I’ve mentioned in this review doesn’t even scratch the surface of how bad this game is mechanically and logistically. The MUT mode is basically just a gamble-fest for kids and EA loves it. EA is a money-hoarding company who could care less about this franchise, the proof is in the ratings.… Expand

It seems like all the budget goes to Ultimate team, which doesn't make much sense since the game mode is already polished enough.

    Animations have been the same since Madden 15. Hell, even 25 was smoother! The announcers have also been the same since 17, and their voices repeat the same line over and over! Even they’re new game mode “QB1 Face Of The Franchise” is awful. Graphics and voice acting are both cheesy, you can’t pick a jersey number, and the entire story is just barebones. You play in 2 college games and get drafted into the NFL and the story ends. REALLY EA.

    Ultimate Team. That game mode is why EA sucks. They only care about profits and not gameplay. Why are MUT pack openers and EA in general so brain dead. Speaking of pack openers, half of the madden fan base are stupid kids who waste money on players who are “good”. That’s not even the worst part! A good player can cost up to $100 and your MUT stats reset to the next madden.

    However, I do like their new Superstar KO mode. It’s fun, but I still hate that you have to pay. This is legit proof that EA doesn’t care about nothing but money! REALLY EA? REALLY! Just don’t get this game. Just stick to the new NFL 2K games coming out next year!    … Expand

    Online play is full of the same formations and plays on both off and def. Not very creative or fun. Safeties stand like they don’t know what they’re doing and be prepared for your receivers to drop the ball 70% of the time.

They add in a new gamemode that literally nobody asked for in Superstar K.O., and they continued to heavily favorite Ultimate Team Mode because thats the mode that makes them the most money, due to it's micro transactions. I did enjoy it a lot at first, with the whole process of picking a college to sign to, developing relationships with teammates and coaches, and the cutscenes that were a really nice touch. But then, you get to the NFL, and the mode completely falls off. It goes back to the way career mode has been in the past 5 Maddens, without any attention to detail or depth to be found at all. You just play through games until you decide to retire. Thrilling. Gameplay is also god-awful, with frequent bugs and server malfunctions absolutely ruining any kind of immersion or fun to be found. Animations and poor physics also run rampant during gameplay, making Madden feel like one of the most unrealistic football games ever. I have no idea how this game continues to garner praise from critics, it's terrible. Just terrible.… Expand

Competing in a scripted game is hard online, because receivers stop going after the ball and db’s will get super powered jumps out of nowhere. New Xfactor just makes me even more angry with it.. Madden lost me over the years with microtransactions and eliminating my ability to pick my own team and play online without some BS card system cash grab.     Alright, the face of the franchise mode is only 2 games long, I couldn't even have my own last name. Yet another player on the other team does. The gameplay feels a little better when I say a little I mean it. The throwing controls however are worse. I still can't get used to the mechanics they are honestly trash the pump fake is very annoying and causes me to get sacked when trying to throw a touch pass who even uses a pump fake in madden. Double tap the button and pump fake instead of touch pass. With that out of the way the game Is once again like the game before. Nothing has changed but a few minor things. This game is another cash grab and has so much lost potential the face if the franchise is a huge letdown and that is the only reason why I bought it. Franchise is even the exact same besides this super lame scenario engine.

Catching the ball isn't like it used to be in older games. The last Madden I liked was Madden 12 and 13. I could throw it to a receiver and have him run to a spot and go up to catch the ball.     This game hasn't changed for the better in a years, even in terms of graphics. The game is glitchy and the most fun you will have is trying to figure out a clever way to return it after playing it for a few hours. It's an expensive downgrade from last year that they make you pay for. They are constantly trying to make you pay more money while in game and for nothing at all.

So; I went to EA.com and opened a case, they denied my case because apparently your social security number; bank accounts, phone numbers and addresses aren't enough evidence for their employees to use for verification. So I opened another one, they denied that one as well. Furious; as I could not play online or anything I called them; they answered with a robot lady that said to file a case (of which I already had twice); so I found another number and by some miracle was put on a waiting list for a call back. After waiting for a couple hours I got a call from a very nice lady who asked me; once again to open a case; I told her I had already multiple times and they were closed. She asked for more information; case numbers; etc... After a long wait she opened another case while speaking with another person who just so happens to be the person who closed my other cases. This person decided instead of picking up the phone of which I was on, to send me another email requesting more information; then requested I turn off all my privacy settings on my PS4 so they could send me an email. So I did; then it finally worked; except for when I logged back on the the PS4; it asks for email confirmation; but never sends any email. So frustrating;

    but anyways; I finally was able to login to the game after paying a bunch of money for the game to Sony and spending many hours with EA; finally able to play so I was like YAY.

There is no strategy in this game. This game is so poorly made that the only plays some people use are the same exact ones because the CPU and most Users can't stop them. Even in games like Madden 17, this wouldn't happen. Interceptions are scripted. I and others get 4+ picks a game because the newer Maddens have made it to where you can move 10 yards to the right, and run back for an easy interception. In real football, this would never happen. This game is extremely bad. Sometimes I can't tell if EA was making an NFL game or a FIFA game. It's off the charts in every category, and not in a good way. This Series has gone from one of the most well-liked, to complete laughing stock. Maybe one day we will get a realistic madden but for now, this version is terrible.    … Expand

    While the RyanMoody21 YouTube channel exposes just how fake fixed & garbage this game is. Allow me to explain further on this monopoly.

    The game is designed to keep you online as much as possible to increase the odds that you will spend money. Its best exploit is by not matching you up against players of your skill level or simply anyone, but they make sure that you play who they want you to play AND when you play, EA will help the team that they want to win. Why? I've never heard anyone explain this yet, but if EA can keep everyones record close to even, everyone will think that spending money to attempt to get just another player or 2 that they will be able to dominate and tip the scales on their winning percentage. It never works that way though. You still win the same amount. Your new player will perform like a true champion but other players will be slacking. The new players play hard for a month when released and then EA slows them down which makes you want to upgrade again and then you find yourself paying EA again.
    There's a number of different types of crypto currencies in the game except this is not able to be cashed in ever. It just serves to get you to again reach for your wallet.

    All of the different game modes that were a part of Madden and the fun things you could do before Ultimate Team took off are gone. You can play without Ultimate Team but Ultimate Team is EAs ONLY focus with the game.

    Despite having one of the biggest budgets allocated by EA, Madden continues to offer nothing that warrants a purchase of this pathetic and mediocre title we see released year after year. Nothing has been improved, only a few things added here and there (All of which has little to no replayability. Once you have seen it once, you will quickly lose interest).

    I am beyond speechless to be honest. This might be the single most disgusting thing that EA has done in my mind and my opinion was pretty low to begin with.
    The menus are all the same, playbooks are all the same, trainings, feel of the game, hell even down to the commentator voice lines this game is literally Madden 19. I kid you not they literally RECYCLED THE VOICE LINES FROM MADDEN 19. Let that sink in:
    A multi billion dollar company can't even pay the commentators to show up in a recording booth during off season for a day to record new conversations. AND THEY WANT 60€ FOR RECYCLED CONTENT. This is just nothing short of absolutely cocky.

    What more is there to say, I liked the soundtrack of Madden 19 so ofc they had to make a garbage one for 2020, naturally. If meaningless mumble rap songs are your thing go for it sure but anybody who likes that type of music, well you're f*cked. I swear to god within the first 10 minutes of playing I took like 6 songs off the playlist. Wasn't a single one in 19.
    They all hype the QB1 career mode as a special feature but you're literally watching cut scenes and playing the god damn game the same way you would in execution except people now have a different colored shirt on.
    At least Longshot had an entire new 7v7 game mode. I'd rather play that and not struggle with the absolutely worthless character editor. Oh did I mention that?
    There's a hideous editor for faces at the start of QB1 where even the Dark Souls character creator makes it easier to create aesthetic looking characters. No kidding: No matter what I tried, my guy looked like a monkey that fell face first into a hornets nest.

    I for one played exactly one hour before demanding a refund for this steaming pile of sh*t. 60€ my ass, that could have been a Madden 19 DLC. There are yearly games that actually improve like the F1 series and then there's EA. Why make a good game if you have no competition? With FIFA they are forced to make good games because PES is looming in the distance waiting for them to f*ck up. But Madden has no direct competition so it suffers from "Never change a running system" syndrome.
    And the worst part: People are going to buy this game no matter what.

    Pro tip: Madden 19 is available everywhere now at a third of the cost. Play that game. It's literally the same game and you get to keep 40€ for other stuff.

    Literally the worst football game I’ve ever played. Still ran by poor animations, No fluid mechanics. Story mode is complete garbage. 2k PLEASE save us from EA. I will NEVER play another madden game again after this.

    This is literally the worst game i have ever played. This madden sucks so bad. The tackling is utter garbage. The defenders are complete morons that stand there watching the ball carriers run right by. God forbid someone tries a arm tackle. Everything sucks about this game. Legit trash.

    Just complete and utter garbage. They consistently do nothing to improve any of the modes that don't make them money from microtransactions. Franchise hasn't had an upgrade in years and the "big" new feature this year is the pro bowl, which was already in Madden in the past.

    Same microtransaction BS as the last few years. Same garbage character creation as the last few years. Same bugs as the last few years. Literally the same garbage football game as the last few years, but with a slightly altered user interface. Oh, and they added Pro bowl back to the game, they took it out just to add it back in again as a "new" feature

Same presentation as last year, same corny commentary, every game sounds exactly the same they never say anything different. You’d think a game that makes over $800 million on just micro transactions would be able to make a smoother running game. I’d rather play madden 06, it literally had more features. Then you have idiots from EA saying they can’t add more helmets to the game because of video memory?!?! Mother **** You had over 100 helmets in the NCAA games on **** PS2s?!?! **** this game man.     This game is bad. I'm no internet troll and I love alot of games critically reviewed as bad, but the gaming websites are clearly in EAs pocket to give this game decent reviews charging 80 bucks (Canada) for this game is disgusting. Not to mention the micro transactions

    Game is boring and stale even with the "new" x factor. It is also very glitchy and seemes like you get cheated out last minute by impossible or improbable plays.

    Madden NFL 20 is still one of the best videogames if you want to simulate any sport but it's very clear that it needs more: more graphics, more gameplay changes, more news in its modes... X-Factor is a good new, but still insufficient to sense that gameplay is different that last year's edition.

    Madden NFL 20 takes a step in the right direction and I really enjoyed the X-Factor additions to the series. While I still think some form of competition would force EA to make more drastic changes, I’m not optimistic with any developers taking a spin with the football genre (maybe the XFL?). If you haven’t caught the pigskin for a few seasons, Madden NFL 20 is the right route to run for this year. With the new consoles coming (most likely) next holiday, I’m looking forward to seeing what EA builds upon from Madden NFL 20 and brings over to next gen. For now I’ll enjoy taking the Broncos to the Super Bowl, while beating up the cover pretty boy, Mahomes (not bitter at all).
