    You know how people often say how every Madden, Fifa, NBA 2K, etc. is the exact same? well, those claims are actually true now! (at least for Madden) This game is literally the exact same as Madden 18 and 17, the soundtrack is reused and incredibly dull, the teams are re-branded and aren't fun to control (especially if you're using a controller other than the Dualshock 4), and the graphicsYou know how people often say how every Madden, Fifa, NBA 2K, etc. is the exact same? well, those claims are actually true now! (at least for Madden) This game is literally the exact same as Madden 18 and 17, the soundtrack is reused and incredibly dull, the teams are re-branded and aren't fun to control (especially if you're using a controller other than the Dualshock 4), and the graphics are incredibly simplistic for a game that's supposed to be realistic. But if those were the only problems with the game, I'd probably give it a 4. However, not only was it branded as a new game, but EA payed critics to give it a good review, that, combined with all the mindless sheep who continue to buy these games EVERY YEAR and constantly pay for micro transactions shows how despicable this company has become. To everyone reading this, boycott Madden NFL 20 and every game after it, it's obvious that these games will never become good again so long as the continue to get rushed each year. We need to tell EA that enough is enough and that we've had it with their **** and the only way to do so is to not purchase ANYTHING from them, thus making them lose money. The sooner we show EA that these decisions have huge consequences, the sooner EA will actually give us what we want instead of taking advantage of everyone.… Expand

Consistently QBs with 50 break tackle and strength would run over opposing players with strength in the 90s.... what is the point of the strength metric??? A safety with high Hit Power and Strength more often should have more violent encounters against smaller weaker players and vice versa... Im sick of seeing my giant strong TE get taken down so easily by smaller weaker players.... it should be a struggle to bring him down.

    Additionally, if i have catch and catch in traffic 99.... i dont want to see multi drop games ... players with poor catch rating... vice versa.... in the running game, which is slow and plotting, If you have a numbers advantage and the defense doesn't adjust... that should be a good gain and vice versa...2 cant block 4.
    This game was such a lazy iteration. It doesn't feel like football. It doesn't feel like the ratings of the players matter... the stars should play like stars... In this game N. Suh and A. Donald regularly finish games with no stats.
    If there is a difference of 20 in overall within a match up... the screen light up and somebody should be getting embarrassed LIKE IN REAL LIFE. Also after a QB gets popped 5 or so times (DEPENDING ON THEIR STATS) take them out of the game.... i cant stand seeing my safety go out of the game for his first tackle on the QB and its the 9th sack of them game and QB is totally fine.

I thought it was a good idea to buy on PC for $18.99 - I was wrong. 20 hours in, you will realize the game is dead and the opponents will have a team 10x better than yours. Their players will be 95+, yours will be 70-80s and a win is absolutely hopeless. The QB does this stupid move were he flaps his arms EVERY TIME he comes to the set position. ItsTrash... Passes are dropped constantly unless the CPU is throwing and if your WR's aren't dropping them then the linebackers channel their inner Jordan and jump 15 feet into the air to grab it.

    I made an account because I feel so strongly my need to share how trash EA and this game are. It's just a sham. There's always a predetermined script that acts as god and manipulates that certain things happen in the game.

    Over the last five years, EA has not developed this game. I am being nice. The case could easily be made that EA has not developed the game since they bought the exclusive NFL license.
    That goes for every part of the game except for graphics. Naturally.

    4. Gameplay is even worse than in 2016. In Madden 19, a linebacker can cover a wideout on a go-route. Backpedaling. And he even intercepts the pass. I wanted to know if it was a glitch. It wasn't. Nigel Bradham got the INT 5 out 5 times.

    No graphic updates from 18, same animations, game play is bad, AI is terrible. This game only kept me playing for a couple days. Do not buy.

    Flaming garbage! Google "Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment for Maximized Engagement in Digital Games". You really have no control of what happens in this game. You have the same amount of control when you yell at your tv watching real football. This game is nothing more than an online casino through the MUT mode. EA cares about nothing else.

    I am going to be as objective as possible with this review. I was going to give this game a 0 but to be fair there are some aspects which are not that terrible, but let me explain.

    Franchise mode: - There is absolutely nothing new about Franchise mode as opposed to last years game. The only difference is that now you are able to choose what aspect of your player you want to upgrade    I am going to be as objective as possible with this review.     Franchise mode:
    - There is absolutely nothing new about Franchise mode as opposed to last years game. The only difference is that now you are able to choose what aspect of your player you want to upgrade after each game, that is, if they received enough points for improvement.
    - The draft class upload is the only feature that is really nice. You can upload draft classes from online all the way up to 2023, if enough people have created these draft classes online.
    - If you want to relocate your team or upgrade your stadium, there is no need because the stadiums, team names, and relocation cities have stayed the same since 2012.

    Let us move on to other things:

    Gameplay:

    The gameplay offline is alright, but the one thing I absolutely hate is the animations this year. What I mean by this is that if you have a receiver wide open and you tell your QB to throw high, the linebacker or whoever will jump about 10 feet high to intercept it. That is my review on offline gameplay, which is not that bad...

    Then I decided to try the online gameplay...holy **** a disgrace, let me explain:

    I don't know what it is about these animations this year but whenever you try to tackle somebody online with the hitstick they decide to spin off the tackle like a ballerina. I am not saying I am using a CB to tackle a FB, rather, I am using a DT to tackle a QB while he is running, and no it is not Michael Vick, it was Dan Marino. In addition, whenever you try to tackle someone online (MUT Squads against computer) the computer doesn't just spin off 1 tackle but off several.

    Anyway enough of that aspect...let us move towards MUT squads:

    MUT squads is not bad, but if you are not willing to spend the coins, then there will have to be countless hours put into the challenges if you want to get a team to compete against others online or even against the computer online. The standard you have to have in order to compete online is an average of an 88overall team. Even that may not be acceptable. But that is my benchmark and then most of the time, people will use "Money plays" every single time.

    "Money plays" are plays that work everytime because the computer (AI) is unable to actually respond to the same play that is being chosen. There used to be a time where Madden actually took skill to play such as Madden 1998-2013 (roughly) but now it is all dependent on "Money plays".

    Let me go back to gampelay for a second:

    - Pre-snap issues:
    - If you tell your defense to base align, they do the complete opposite. If you tell them to watch overtop, they will get beat overtop. So those pre-snap calls are absolutely useless.

    - Half-time show attempt:
    - Congratulations! Madden has ESPN or whoever now, but is unable to make anything of it because the halftime show during your game is just scores being recorded throughout the league by Jonathan Coachman. This is not needed as I can see this while playing the game.
    - God forbid you skip the halftime show, because then Madden personally attacks you with stupid phrases like: "well alright then, I guess I won't take a break"... so funny...maybe it is just because I heard it so often that it gets annoying when they keep saying sly sayings when you decided to skip the halftime show.

    The Story mode:
    - The story mode is not even worth playing because it is just a movie. It is a nice feature but all it is, is that is a mode for new people coming to madden or even football and just want to be interactive in a playable (partly) movie.
    - I did not even complete the story mode because it is not worth my time.

    Conclusion:
    - The same game as Madden 16 pretty much with updated rosters and a new story mode.
    - MUT squads is a decent mode if you actually invest time into it, however, do not expect to win much if you plan to go online. Also if you play MUT squads online against the computer with a friend, always go into a regular defense if the computer is on 4th and less than 10 yards. It is a guaranteed fake every time.

    - Franchise mode is nothing new, and I have played the entire 15 seasons, so trust me it just gets repetitive after the first 3 seasons as every team just get's the same generic stadium because they want to have the newest stadium. I literally played 9 teams in the same stadium in my 7th season.
    - Gameplay is terrible and needs a complete makeover to the point where it takes skill again and the animations aren't something out of a Michael Bay film. 10 feet jumps from the AI, while your player is having a seizure when you tell him to jump up for a ball.

    Save yourself and dont buy this game, although it is May so this review is probably not worthy to anyone. Anyway, Madden 20 won't be much different but I will buy it, cuz what else am i gonna play    … Expand

    It’s a minor update to 2019. It even has the same commentary. The superstar X factors are a terrible addition and the gameplay is actually worse this year. I am so disappointed. If I had bought a physical disc I would have already resold it.

    I reset my ps4 because the game froze everything and I lost ALL my progress on EVERYTHING. All my franchises were gone, any player I made were gone, just everything. Also, once I got another franchise going, I clicked the wrong button and instead of asking me if I really want to proceed to playoffs, it started to simulate to playoffs! My team didn’t make it because I wasn’t playing and,I reset my ps4 because the game froze everything and I lost ALL my progress on EVERYTHING.     Unpopular opinion: I liked Longshot. But that's it. Franchise mode was still the same, and the game had the least features of probably any sports game. Only Play Now, Franchise, Longshot, and stupid Ultimate Team.

    This has to be the worst madden ever. The gameplay is just absurdly awful. The only game mode I enjoyed was longshot and even sometimes I had to mute my tv because It was so cringe. I'd much rather play madden 20 or 21 and those are terrible games. At this point just take away all game modes and leave ultimate team there. DONT BUY IT.

Madden 19 showed nothing new at all even though it was a commercial success, I still say that Madden 13 was the worst game of the Franchise because it was the title that killed the series and set up the terrible foundation for future titles but one thing that Madden 13 is obviously better than Madden 19 is gameplay because Madden 19Madden 19 was and is the WORST Madden Game ever made. Madden 19 showed nothing new at all even though it was a commercial success, I still say that Madden 13 was the worst game of the Franchise because it was the title that killed the series and set up the terrible foundation for future titles but one thing that Madden 13 is obviously better than Madden 19 is gameplay because Madden 19 runs on the Frostbite Engine (a game engine used for Battlefield a First-Person Shooter).

    Madden 19's Franchise Mode was completely shallow and made Madden 08 feel superior to Madden 19. There was barely anything to do in the game, there wasn't a Superstar or Career Mode just a sequel to Longshot from Madden 18 with barely any gameplay, there was also no Mini-Camp, Tournament Mode, Fantasy Football Mode (Ultimate Team w/no micro-transactions), and a lot more game modes... This game had nothing else to do than opening MUT packs. The game is missing over 80+ features, the gameplay is completely ruled by animations, & so many BUGS AND GLITCHES!!!

    Sports games today except Rocket League are incredibly underwhelming and EA Sports Games are the worst sports games today. Just go play other sports games like Madden 2004-08, NCAA Football, NFL/NBA/FIFA Street, NFL 2K, All-Pro Football 2K8, NBA 2K except 2K18, Backbreaker, older MLB the Show titles, Fight Night, and many more titles. Play those sports games or play other games instead of playing this buggy/glitchy cash-grabbing filth of a game.

Longshot is half or more just cutscenes and not a lot of gameplay and interactions.     Classic madden installment. Longshot mode is aggravating for the trophy hunting community in the way of long cut scenes you can’t skip. Unfortunately the servers are now closed for this game.

The Real Player Motions generates that feeling of not 'controlling' players, but rather living as the players instead. Seeing how lifelike all the players are within a match, and how they communicate with each other before and during plays, and then watching them seamlessly get into the next play, is freakishly uncanny.
