Collectibles feel cheap and don't create any motivation to explore entire levels while the new mechanics and tools sprinkled throughout do little to make the experience any more enjoyable. The 2.5D platforming is often janky and annoying, and while the new characters are fun additions to gameplay, they are comedically underused. A lacking title as a first-party PlayStation exclusive. I loved LBP 1. 2 was great too. This game os too simple, not Very Explored and not creative, not Fun as LBP 1 that the maps were Very richer

    Its really a shame how the series dropped, I felt the story was really odd for this one and it had a really weird mission system with not nearly enough unlockables and tried to focus on that with paid ones. Its still more lbp so you can't be disappointing but it just didn't have the charm of the first one

    It's a serious damn shame what happened to this franchise. LBP 3 introduces new sacks to play with, but they don't offer the versatile gameplay that was promised.

Expand

This is just another case of a very powerful and potentially industry-shaping game getting neglected and forgotten by its devs. Expand

    A funny game with some uncomfortable bugs. It's fun to play with someone else, but there are certain bugs that it's intolerable that they're still here after all the time that has passed since launch.

    LBP 3 was a letdown for me. I loved LBP and LBP 2 and even the VITA one, so this game was a missed opportunity.

    It added some cool new mechanics but the story wasn't as good as I expected and the multiplayer mode had a lot of lag and the game also had many bugs. Still a fun game but not the same classic it used to be. I hope one day LBP 4 is released and it fixes the mistakes made in

    Game is fun to play with friends but nothing more. The menu design is horrible. I just did not know how to go to the next level or if I already played te level. At the end this was a dealbreaker.

    To make it short: This game is way too short.

    Gameplay is good, coop is nice graphics are good, online mode is a desaster. Sadly I bought this full price and completed it with mys GF in 6 hours and it was fun. Yet disappointingly short. Then I tried playing online and always got kicked from everyone and was not able to play at all. Then I put that game onto my shelf and that's it.

    LBP 3 must the most disappointing game in the series (unless you count LBP Karting, which is even worse). It's not bad, it's just underwhelming. The fact it launched with tons of bugs and glitches didn't help with reviews, but these have since been fixed.

    The Adventure mode is the shortest and by far the most boring out of the 3 LBP games I have played (the others being LBP 2 and LBP Vita). Other than that, everything else is exactly the same as previous games, because the series hasn't progressed much since LBP 2. There is the usual 4 player co-op (both online and offline), there are some gadgets, there is the usual nonsensical story and some cute art style, but nothing new. The new characters could have refreshed the stagnating series' core gameplay, but sadly they are little more than a cameo.

    Aside from that, there are more and better tools than ever to build whatever you want in Creation mode and better tutorials to understand how it works. You can make anything ranging from a simple platforming level and an basic arcade game, to whole cut-scenes/movies and even entire games like RPGs. It's essentially a suite to create games for those who are patient and skilled enough. The LBP community have created some amazing things you have to check out. You can also import levels built on previous games, so you have instant access to pretty much all of the user-generated content since the first LBP game.

    LBP 3 is still a good platform game to play either solo or with friends, but fans of the series won't find much to excite them. It's a pity LBP has hit a wall, there may not be another new LBP game, and original developers Media Molecule are now working on Dreams. Let's hope for the better.

As always the emphasis is on creation, player imagination, and good wholesome fun. The series bright, colorful looks are just as inviting as ever. The game's strength still lies in it's player created levels. The strong building tools you are given can allow you to make just about whatever you want. The option to share your creations and experience the work of others is just as great as ever.

    However, unlike the previous LBP, the creation is really all the game has going for it. While that's more than enough to ensure that the game has a long lifespan, it's missing all the other stuff that made LBP 2 so incredibly enjoyable. There's a cool new mode that introduces you to the game's building mechanics through puzzle like levels, but ultimately it doesn't last very long. The biggest disappointment comes from the Adventure mode.

    With things like new playable characters, a larger emphasis on storytelling, cool items, and new approaches to level design, one would think this would be the best adventure yet. Unfortunately the storytelling falls flat. I stopped paying attention almost immediately and the humor is strangely missing. The actual gameplay is fine, but it isn't long before things start to get on your nerves, especially with the late game difficultly spikes. It's only a few hours, but still managed to overstay it's welcome. By the time the credits rolled I was more than happy to be done with it's quest.

    The return of the creation tools is the reason you should give LBP 3 a chance. There are plenty of new options and the game still serves as a great way to show of your creativity and imagination. If you can stomach the adventure mode, there's a lot of things to do thanks to the introduction of side-quests and the plethora of collectibles hidden throughout. It's got some nice, expanded co-op options that could prove very enticing for you and a friend. Yet, even with all of that there is still something incredibly disappointing with LBP 3. It's just not as charming as it's predecessor. Something that's probably due to the change in developers. It's not like Sumo Digital made a bad game. It's just that you can tell it's missing the Media Molecule touch.

    Nonetheless LBP3 is still at the very least a decent game. One packed with content and some stunning tools that allow for seemingly endless possibility. It still allows you to flex your creative muscles and share your ideas with the world, all the while seeing what others are up to as well. If that sort of thing is up your alley, then this is the game for you. However, if you're just looking for a fun platformer game then this may not be for you. It's single-player offerings aren't among the more satisfying options out there.

    awful platforming, awful menues, you must type O button 3-4 times until you get off from them;
    story is weak, some times unskippable, stages are way worse than in LBP2;

    but great platform for creativity... not enough for a player, not a future game designer

    LittleBigPlanet 3 wasn't an easy legacy to take on, but Sumo Digital made a good job and released the best entry in the franchise to date... but also the most controversial with lots of bugs and missed opportunities.
