Unlike it's Predecessor the dinosaurs feel too scripted. In JPOG the way they walked, interacted with each other felt very natural for a PS2 game. Now 15 years after that game released the animals feel as they went back in time with their mechanics- They just fell way too scripted, for example when a bigger carnivore wants to hunt something it hast to reposition itself so it's facing straight to it's target, then an copy and pasted animation plays. In addition to that the way some of the dinosaurs break out of their enclosure doesn't follow common sense, for example: A small Velociraptor breaks out of a big concrete wall with no problem.
Another thing is that park building itself can get tedious, i'm saying it "can" because it isn't always like that ,in my opinion decorating parts of your park can be a lot of fun, But the problem is whenever you want to place a building you can wait an upwards of 4 minutes (I'd like to remind you that in JPOG it was near instant) . Although it doesn't sound that bad it really can be, For example: You want to build an important facility on your island, you place the building, you wait... that's it you just sit there and wait for the damn thing to finish constructing.
Another notable negative are the guests. They all feel like walking paper cut outs of humans. They feel so dull that it makes me think they're there just to show the player that someone is actually in their park ( and of course when things go wrong they serve as food for the carnivores).
Putting all of that negativity aside there are some things that are done well, one of them is the inclusion of Jeff Goldblum's character (Ian Malcolm) although not as memorable as in the first two Jurassic Park movies he's still a welcome addition. Another good thing is the optimization. I've played through the entire game using a base PS4 and was surprised on how well the game looked and (most of the time) ran on the hardware.

In the end Jurassic world Evolution doesn't live up to the standards of it's predecessor , although the dinosaurs look very good they don't feel very real. The park building although boring at times can be a lot of fun.

this game is great and I would highly recommend this game to a friend but there are a few issues. Sometimes the dinosaurs get into a looped animation when fighting and the game makes you wait for everything but I don't mind. This game is great and you should play it.

I’m not usually into these types of games aside from Zoo Tycoon & JPOG (the game this is inspired by) but this is easily the ones I’ve sunk the most time into. All the dinosaurs are beautifully animated & the post-launch support has been amazing with new DLCs & free additions + quality of life improvements. One of my most played games ever!

I am not fan of Jurassic Park although the movies were kinda cool, so I m practically not biased in any way. Still the game is definitely something for fans of the franchise and delivers quite well. You play over the course of multiple islands each with different tasks, missions and obstacles. The principle is kinda nice and the variety with the unlocks that come over time is well done.

The core gameloop lacks a bit in my opinion. The simulation factor is very basic and most statistics you will never need. Every island plays the same: very slow start, drop cheap dinos and then snowball until you drown in money. This is a little bit sad and I wished so often to have a possibility to pause or fast forward. Some dino mutations take forever to breed, so you gotta go for a shower or cook meanwhile.

The disaster management is a nice addition but sometimes **** snowballs so hard in this game where a tornado caps walls, then elektro or maybe your ranger station. While you try to recover other dinos break out of panic. It IS handable but after all such events may cost you half an hour or more depending on the random damage. Even storm security doesnt help much. Same goes for the walls. There are different types but either you just need the weakest one or the dinos are so creeped out that even electrified concrete walls wont do the deal.

As you can see it is a mix of up and downs. The game still is fun, the dinos are cool, it is just very slow a bit repetitive and it lacks a certain depths. When you want 5 stars for each island, it can be a pain in the ass because some places are minorly overcrowded or you try to squeeze in another toilet for a 0.5% boost. For the dinos just drop the highest mutation for a quick boost and thats it.

My summary is that I had a lot of fun and I would recommend the game for fans or casual simulation players but only for a decent discount. They could ve done way more out of the game and I kinda hope they will do a 2nd try after they dropped all the DLCs they want to. If you truly like the game you will find content for 20 to 40 hrs with DLCs even more. So consider your likings and go for those dinos!

Solid park builder game, dinosaurs move, sound and look great with a massive variety in types. Career mode is fun enough with sandbox mode for more freedom. The terrain on a lot of the maps is a real pain at times and you cannot place things anywhere. The lack of customization on anything bar the dinosaurs limits things somewhat.

If you answered yes to at least 2 of those 4 questions, you will most likely adore this game. You will build your own Jurassic World from the ground up, which can be personalized as you see fit from a large selection of buildings, attractions, and even landscape editors such as mountains, foliage, ect.
The graphics here are beautiful, which is important as they attempt to make the huge selection of dinos as screen-accurate as possible. They eat, sleep, socialize and you must learn what each of them like and dislike to properly care for your prehistoric attractions and ensure they remain happy, lest they become aggressive, pick fights with each other, and pose a threat to your guests. Lets be honest though, breakouts are exactly what we want to happen and the rampages that ensue are hilarious and satisfying. Sorry guests, you surely knew the dangers... The voice acting is great and quite comical, featuring appearances from the cast of all 5 films. Yup, Chef Goldblum is here to constantly berate you and condemn your actions as you evil scientist your way into lawsuits and countless deaths that are entirely your fault. However, after the first few levels the story tends to drag as you find yourself doing the same missions and building the same park on each island. Characters will repeat the same lines of dialogue over and over as you try to peacefully watch your stegos graze. Yeah Finch, you like cream with your coffee, you told me. About a thousand times...
There is a sandbox mode where you can build whatever you like with no cost-restrictions or character interaction, but the inevitably boring storyline must be completed to fully unlock this feature. Don’t expect to jump right into it.
All-in-all though, this is a near-perfect delivery of the premise that is offered, and replayability is high as each dino seems to have it’s own distinct personality and are highly customizable. Difficulty has been significantly lowered from past-gen spiritual predecessor “Operation Genesis”. If you’re a fan of builders and Jurassic Park it’s worth a buy, but prepare to feel guilty as you watch terrified park-goers be eaten alive by Rexy herself. Life finds a way, and so does Jurassic World:Evolution. 7/10!

I played this game on PS4, which means the game has to adjust itself to a controller layout to suit the gamer. Luckily, the controls for the game are excellent. They are friendly on the player by not over complicating it, and it is support by a very practical user interface. This game is tailor made to be accessible for a wide audience.

When it comes to building parks, the game offers a long road map in acquiring all the types of dinosaurs and upgrades for your park. While the behavior of the dinosaurs isn't sophisticated, they have their needs and limits which gives the player plenty of challenge for housing dinosaurs while making sure the area serves their needs.

The difficulty of the game itself isn't very high. The park has to throw some really chaotic situations at you to make it hard, which doesn't happen unless you have a large park with many dinosaurs.

To finish this up, the game offers dozens of hours of fun for Management games enthusiasts like myself, and it's stunning to look at. A shame their are now aquatic or aerial dinosaurs, especially considering the game locks 5 dinosaurs behind an deluxe dlc pack. I give this game an 8/10. It is an excellent game.

I admit, JWE has a lot of chance & spot to improve its gameplay deepthness on its sequel (if any). so far, im so satisfied with the current game form (consider there is no other game which offer similiar magnificence ancient creature tycoon like JWE! good work!

this 10/10 review is nothing but to raise a change of frontier to make a game sequel (well, if any),
i really appreciate & so glad that this game has been made. frontier has a lot of chance to improve & it can be applied on the JWE's sequel! but at least the current game foundation has been strong entertaining enough (current JWE).

several things that i think should be & can be improved was :
    1. there is no access & any additional features for all guest related building, what we can do is only build it (or demolish it to earn some money) & see it attract the visitors (visitors come & by), thats all. well at least i expect we can see the guest related building door opens when the visitors come by, but this is not (visitors come through a passive doors). very lack of depthness,

well you can clearly see 2 things
    a. frontier doesnt concern on those detail so deep (the whole game graphic is the higher target)
    b. frontier has lack of time on thinking about the building operational details

    2. We have no acces to see how viewing vents looks like. in JPOG, we can click the viewing vent & see how we can view the dinos as if we are the visitors, its beautiful & show how decent our viewing vent as a connector of the visitors to see the dinos.

Same with the transportation train, it would be so new & beautiful if we can see how it looks like from the inside of the train while its moving around the park,

well im so sad that this kind of basic things is lack on the game,
please, you build a viewing facility but know nothing how it looks like, i mean, how is my dinos looks like from that viewing vent, i dont know. but i build it & pretending that view has been satisfying enough for the visitors.

    3. i bet a lot of JPOG fans think about this. well on its high end jurassic world game version, we hope there will be an aerial & aquatic dinos (alongside with its related park facility). but yeah, it havent happened yet. seems like frontier cannot release a bigger effort for it (i dont know why). if there is, it would be fantastic (since it might be the 1st game that consider about the aerial & aquatic dinos).

well it just my big dream,
at least so far JWE has offer remarkable overhaul on the JP's tycoon simulator game.

while playing this game, i feel my dream on seeing a new model of a JPOG's game has been come true. but at the same time, JWE's still left some missing things which make me keep dreaming about it.

Speaking of food, the dinosaurs eat a lot and don't poop at all. Theres no interaction with customers at all, don't hear their views, opinions, what they like, what they don't blah blah blah

And the different divisions are nonsense, they contradict themselves and just seem thoughtlessly thrown in to give the game "Missions".

Sending expeditions and harvesting fossils is dull and too easy - also, where are the baby dinosaurs?

    Dinosaurs have no personalities whatsoever.

I don't feel like i'm running a Dinosaur zoo at all as the managerial side of things is so thin.

In my opinion, it feels lazy as the developers know it will sell for the fact it has dinosaurs

Notable other nonsense in the game: Shops can only sell 1 item at a time, WTF? the enclosures are not advanced at all (grass, trees, water - done), flocking dinosaurs don't flock, Visitors are so dull and insignificant I forget they are there

But some things displeased me, being them; the interaction with the people of the Park, some structures that could interact in the first person what not to occur and mainly the artificial intelligence of dinosaurs that at least a bit confused of the real. I do not know if they want to do battle between them, or something more real. Please developers rearrange this, bring life to the dinosaurs. They seem bland to me. Expand

Jurassic World Evolution is a Great Park-Sim Builder that is similar to Operation Genesis. Everything in this game works so well in this game.

Graphics: Perfect, The frame rate isn't that all bad, but it will sometimes drop when the screen is filled with dinosaurs attacking screaming citizens. Still Perfect Overall. Sound: Excellent. The Dino sounds are Perfect, and The Voice Actors

Sound: Excellent. The Dino sounds are Perfect, and The Voice Actors are Perfect despite some are actors are from either Jurassic Park and Jurassic World.

Soundtrack: PERFECT. This game brings back the original theme from Jurassic Park and is very nice to have the theme in the game.

Overall: This is a must buy game. I think it stands find at being a $60 game since it has a lot of potential to it. Also, they have Great DLC for this game. Buy this Game Now!

Jurassic World Evolution is an okay game. There is plenty of fun to be had testing your ability to create large pens of dinosaurs living in harmony.

A fussy but enjoyable slice of strategy that serves up the very best dinosaurs in PlayStation history. Mr. Hammond, consider your park endorsed. [Issue#152, p.83]

Is Jurassic World Evolution worth the price of admission? That’s tough to answer. On one hand, I look forward to dinosauring (as I call it) every night, especially after I’d unlocked the challenge-free sandbox which allows me to build the park of my dreams without limits, but unlocking every piece of technology and every species of dino means slogging through an uninspired campaign. It’s frustrating, but there’s still nothing like watching a newly-hatched T. rex roar her way out into the world.
