Graphics were amazing and the game play was really Fun. The only reasons I give it a 9 is no on-line game play and you can't swim but hey who needs to swim.

Excellent game. It does have a similar "feel" to the previous inFamous games, but everything has been taken up a few notches. Better gameplay, better graphics, better protagonist, better controls, better powers, better ambiance, etc etc. The story is the only thing keeping this from being a 10 in my book. It starts out great, but there isn't as much substance in the middle as I'd like. Not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it doesn't pack quite the emotional punch that inFamous 2 did.

I love the characters. Cole was always just Ok to me, but Delsin has much more personality. The excellent voice actors have much to do with this. It's good to see Delsin embrace his new powers, unlike Cole. He's always seeking out new powers and is as happy as a kid at Christmas whenever he gets one. The evil grin he does right before dropping on enemies says a lot. Delsin's brother, Reggie, and the other conduits met in the game are very well done.

I've heard some people saying that this game is really short and repetitive, but I haven't found this to be the case at all. I haven't been clocking my gaming time, but it seemed comparable to inFamous 1 and inFamous 2 as far as I remember.

This is an extremely easy game to recommend, and not just because of the typical post-launch drought that most consoles experience.

Let's start off by being honest...inFAMOUS: Second Son is not the greatest game ever made as some want you to believe...It is also extremely far from the worst game ever made (Ride to Hell: Retribution holds that distinction). What inFAMOUS: Second Son is however, is a game with more or less the same mechanics that were present in the first two games on the PS3 with an updated story and vastly updated graphics. Instead of the very bland and gravely voiced Cole McGrath we get the snarky douchebag Delsin Rowe. At first i wasn;t the biggest fan of Cole's or Delsin's for that matter but just like the first two games you grow to love them with your choices in the game. The story at it's surface isn't anything special. Once you start to dig around and collect the dead drops in the combination ARG/in game "Paper Trail" mission i found myself wanting to know more about the D.U.P. and their involvement with Curden Cay (The prison that the captured "bio-terrorists" are sent to). Over all it would get a 7 from me but is boosted by the inclusiuon of an amazing mix of ARG and in game missions.
So at the end of the day:

    Pros:
Your choices, while simple, do affect the story so at least 2 play throughs are needed
Delsin is a much more entertaining character than Cole
    "super" moves are satisfying
ARG elements mixed with in game missions feels fresh

    Cons:
Frame rate issues when everything is exploding on screen
Story overall doesn't feel as good as I1&2
    The occasional glitch

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's get started with what is ultimately not the most important part of a game: the graphics, facial animation, and particle effects in this game are beautiful. That goes without question. The environment is very realistic and is fun to play in.

Gameplay: Delsin's power sets are quite different that those used by Cole in the previous Infamous titles. He absorbs different powers from the environment depending on what is needed. Some provide added maneuverability and precision while others are fierce but don't help if you're trying to get around the city. Overall these powers are fun to use. Hit and run strategy is encouraged with the removal of the ability to take cover, and fighting while climbing (aiming while holding onto ledges and such) is discouraged by very high buildings and powers that allow you to ascend them easily. This does not detract much from gameplay however.

Open world: Sucker Punch got into open world design early on, and luckily for them it took off. People like having a lot of power, and a lot of space to let loose. However, a lot could be said about side mission integration. Shards can be found on the minimap after clearing a mean enemy base in certain districts, and after that the only reason to get 0% DUP presence is if you feel like being a completionist. This wasn't a problem in the first two Infamous Games since there were literally not enough missions to supply you with enough xp to unlock all the powers, you had to make and play their online levels as well if you really wanted everything, whereas I got almost all the powers on my evil playthrough while hardly clearing any districts.

Story: This story was significantly shorter than other Infamous games, and felt a little linear. Track down one conduit, get powers, track down another, get powers, track down another conduit, watch Reggie's very touching death scene that was actually really good, track down a conduit who is the head of the DUP, get powers in a boss fight, the end. The karma mechanic had little to no effect on the overall plot, which was disappointing.

Overall: If I had the option this review would be rated at 8.5. I love the series and it doesn't receive as much love as it ought to. However, second son doesn't quite live up to the outstanding experience that was the first two games. More karma and open world mission integration were needed, and the story was over and done faster than it needed to be. I love it, the only bad thing I can say is that I want more.

Love this game. The story kept my attention. Using the various powers to travel around Seattle did not feel like a chore. The fighting was rarely repetitive. Overall it is just a fun game to play and I am trying to finish the Evil Karma version to get the Platinum Trophy. I rarely do story modes twice but this was is still fun the second time around.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There are many people saying that this game is a copy and paste game-play wise from the last generation. I have two problems with this. One, no it is not, Two, who cares if it was. Seriously, this game deserves more than a damn 0 or 1. The game-play was the same to some extent but the new button/touch pad and the motion controls shake it up a little. And if we gave games bad ratings because they were the same as the sequel, all sequels would be bad to us. Halo, Batman Arkham franchise, and many more. so people who say it is "exactly the same", piss off. now that i got that out of the way lets move on to my review. This game was amazing, particle effects, graphics, incorporation of new controls, the whole shebang. It kinda fell short story wise, giving characters less emotional pull, but i came here to be entertained, not emotional. And entertained i was. The game-play was smooth never dropping a frame when i played. As i said before the graphics and particle effects really show what the ps4 can handle at once. And the facial animations, MY GOD THE FACIAL ANIMATIONS. Beautiful. Never seen anything like it. other than that i thought i deserved a 10/10 but the story was kind of dull. so a 9 it is. Expand

I'll keep it short: Everything is perfect except the story isn't up to par with the first two (but it's still great), and the parkour isn't as solid as it was in the past (but this is remedied by incredible ability to fly around the city). 9/10.

There isn't too much to say about this game that hasn't already been said. The graphics are top notch and really show off the capabilities of the PS4. I can't in good conscience give it a 10/10 however because I feel like the AI was a little woeful for a next-gen game. Overall, wonderful though. I'm slowly making my way through each district and clearing out the government :)

The graphics are amazing but not only does this game look good it plays excellently. I never experienced a frame rate hiccup nor any graphics popping in and with the speed at which i was moving between rooftops around the city this is nothing to be taken lightly. The power effects also had me slack jawed every time I pushed circle i got excited to see everything that was going to happen. My personal favorite was the neon power where there was a trail behind you as you were sprinting.

I enjoyed the story although it left a bit to be desired and was extremely predictable there was only one scene that caught me off guard that i will not spoil here but the rest of the ending i saw coming from a mile away.

Gráficos de ponta com efeitos estonteantes, um gameplay fantástico uma história descente(poderia ser muito melhor muitas pontas soltas) e muito divertido.

This being the second ps4 exclusive (killzone being #1), and arguably the first game some may consider buying the console for, I waited to review this one until I beat the game and had some time to reflect.

I usually feel let down by sandbox adventure games. aside from GTA, which set the precedent that base my opinions off of, most of them sound great in theory and have you daydreaming about the possibilities for awesomeness, and don't really deliver. Infamous actually surpassed my expectations, and really turned out to be a gem.

combat: this is what really shines. the powers are SO MUCH FUN. when you can find a game with combat so good, you go out of your way to look for non-progress related encounters just to experience the gameplay, you know you've got something special. the four different powers are each unique, and feel like their own skillset. i dont see the exact same skills with different colored spell effects, i see four entirely different skill trees, each bringing their own strengths to the table. each tier has its own method of travel, active skills, and passives. they use this as a sell point to the game, and rightfully so, the powers are damn cool.

story: involves your typical stuff; hero, villian, conflict, tragedy. the characters are voiced over nicely and you can connect with some of them, which will help keep you absorbed in the plot. i won't spoil anything, but it's a good time.

graphics: i dont normally list graphics as a bullet point in my reviews, as i would play a 2d side scroller if the game was good, but infamous: second son requires recognition for its beauty. i can confidently tell you, this is the nicest looking game i have ever played. ever. ever ever ever. the game takes place in a scale model of seattle, and the scenery is literally immaculate. coming from ps3 and 360, i was in the mindset of "how much better could it really get?". the first couple of launch games are all ports, and even killzone as nice as it looks, was only marginally better than what we already had. this is that first one that will blow your mind, the one you want to have in the disc tray when showing off your new system. spell effects, character models, and the world in general look superb.

cons: my only complaint is the length of the game. i picked this up the tuesday it released, and beat it on saturday of that week. i made it a point to take my time also. between the gorgeous graphics, the phenomenal gameplay, and the above average story line, i just wish it would have lasted longer. the good news is, our new main character cole left us off with plenty of questions to be answered; i think we will see him again for a sequel.

all in all, great game. whether you are an 8 year old girl or a 75 year old man, you're going to have a good time with this one. if you are debating on grabbing a ps4, go ahead and pick it up, because we have reached the point where next-gen is in in full swing. a legit catalog of titles are now available (including several exclusives- digital download and retail), there are quite a few blockbuster AAA titles on the immediate horizon, and the next-gen only titles have started to release. just make sure that you pick up infamous: second son to go along with your shiny, new console. it's worth buying the system for.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Second Son, truthfully probably deserves a 10. However it falls short of this because of one thing. The evil campaign, now hear me out here. Simply put the evil campaign just isn't what I and what I hope others were looking for in the sense there is no moral sympathy of an evil character in this game. Unlike Cole when playing as evil it was more of a twisted sense of justice rather then some weird evil of killing street performers for whatever reason. Additionally being evil doesn't really change the story much as spoiler your brother continues to aid you the entire time which feels weird. In the end playing the evil route just made me feel like some whiny baby rather than an anti-hero that I felt while playing as Cole in the previous inFamous games. Graphics, combat, and overall gameplay are great; so are the whitty lines and the good campaign which was rather impressive I think. So if you own a PS4 buy this game it'll be money worth spending. The game delivers perfect performance and stunning graphics, very detailed city. Game balance and AI are perfect. I played on hard and it was very funny meanwlile a bit challenging. AI isn't perfect, but not bad actually.

Delsin is very nice hero, other characters either. Broken destinies of super-people such as Fetch, Gamer, Smoke-Guy.

The gameplay is very funny, but there were not so much tips and hits as i'd loved to. Sometimes actually gameplay seems too monotonous. In the whole amount of superpowers they all give almost the same effect with minimal changes in gameplay and practical advantages between each other. I mean I loved that plenty of powers but, you know, the whole game I could complete with only smoke or neon, or video powers.

    It a little disappointed me.

Game isn't 10 only because gameplay sometimes is very monotonous and I wish I could have a little bit more tricks, combos and tactics using different powers.

The graphics of inFAMOUS Second Son are the best graphics of all of console history. Combine that with a mostly solid 60 frames per second and you will get a game that will be very pleasing to the human eye.

Now, on to the gameplay. Even though the story is pretty short, it kept me intrigued through the whole game. It was not too serious of a story like the last two inFAMOUS games, which I kinda liked since it was set in a modern city in which the civilians in it weren't too drastically in danger than the other games. The character development was also very well done with each different character in the game feeling widely different in terms of skill and personality. The combat in Second Son is the best I have seen in a video game. It is just so fast paced and smooth, and if you can master a power good enough, you can see yourself wiping away through enemies with a grin on your face. All 4 powers in the game varies very differently, changing up your combat procedures frequently. Was using smoke to take out a bunch of enemies but ran out of juice? Drain some neon and take a more tactical and slow approach to wipe out your enemies. The karma system in the game did not offer as much as I expected it too in terms of power, but the story did change a lot from good to evil.

When you beat the rather short but very fun story in Second Son, you are left with the open world of Seattle to roam around and finish all the side quests. The side quests of the game are very repetitive and aren't actually quests, but rather small mini games like finding the hidden enemy in a crowd of civilians or spray painting a good/evil image on a wall. These can be done fast and when the whole open world is completed of objectives, you don't really have anything to do, sadly. There is the free "Paper Trail" DLC that allows you to do some really cool detective work on a computer and hunt down the criminals in game, which I found very hard (a good thing) but a cool idea at its own pace.

This game is one of the most enjoyable of next-gen so far and all PlayStation 4 owners must own the game! I give this game a 9/10.
