I loved first game. Hotline Miami second coming is not bad sequel, it does contain proper amount of shooting, nice pixel art, good music but it also lack in many places. First of all is story - shattered, you don't have a time to immerse into this world, protagonist are constantly changing. Second thing is music - its still good one however I don't feel this pumping adrenaline base lines and couldn't hear the hypnotizing melodies. Another thing is stage designs, here its a little bit too random - there is a logic to imply however not as on the same level as was on "number one" While I still enjoying coming back to first part - this second one is not something that I would like to repeat. Not as revolutionary as the first one and not as good either.
Wrong number is effectively the same game with different maps.
There's been a few minor tweaks here and there and the difficulty has ramped up ten-fold.
After absolutely loving the first game and finishing it almost to Platinum, the difficulty curve and similarities to the original are issues I am unable to see past.

    Bloody, brutal, dark, and awesome.
Hotline Miami 2 is twitch action, murder simulator. Ultra brutality just like the first game.
If you've played the first Hotline Miami, you wont have too much with this one. But if you're new to the series, prepare to die....A lot. The gameplay is challenging, you one hit the enemies, and vice versa. This makes every level you complete rewarding, and

The gameplay is challenging, you one hit the enemies, and vice versa. This makes every level you complete rewarding, and when you do complete a level, you'll feel a great amount of satisfaction. Game's story is like I said, bloody, brutal, and holy hell, is it dark. Not gonna spoil anything.
The game's art style is retro style, NES, it really doesn't bother me in any way. The soundtrack is amazing. The music seems to fit in with the game's style, one of the best composers in the soundtrack would have to be Jasper Byrne. He made great music for the first, and even better in the second. You're gonna enjoy every song while you're committing massive amounts of genocide.

There's one problem with the game though, that makes the game especially hard, that's the controls

Now with console versions, oh my god, are you gonna rage. The controls just aren't just tailored to a controller, so it makes the game extremely hard to play.

Other than that, it's a pretty awesome game, but if you're thinking on getting the game, just get it on pc.

Much similar to the first game, but with worse music, and more bugs. The game is considerable easier, and it the story is not very appealing. If you are looking for this sort of retro game, I recommend the first one.

HOTLINE MIAMI 2: WRONG NUMBER is a perfect option to spend your free time playing this sanguinary game, the gameplay is easy and great, the soundtrack is amazing, the history is cool, sometimes the game became repetitive and you get lost in the history but It still a great option to play if you like blood and guns!

The sequel seems more faced paced and hectic than the first, ramped up a notch for sure, but i'm not entirely certain that is a good thing or not. It's extremely fun to play, albeit very frustrating at times. One of the newer gameplay / aesthetic additions is larger areas and rooms, which are infuriating as you often get shot at from across the room by a bad guy you can't see. As a result, it feels more trial and error than the prequel. Based on luck rather than timing and skill, which is a shame as the first game had excellent balance. What does work are the different characters and various nuances that come with them. I have yet to finish the game, but the storytelling seems a little haphazard in places and it is difficult to see exactly where it is going, or what relevance the characters have to one another at times. The soundtrack is just amazing and suits the atmosphere perfectly. A classic? No. The first one is better in my opinion. Expand

For what it’s worth Wrong Number is the typical cliched mixed bag, with the best bits of the original dressed up in the excesses of what the developers thought they needed to add to make this a bigger, badder sequel.
