It may seem like I’m being extremely harsh on The Frozen Wilds, but it needed to offer something new. Guerrilla Games has made an excellent world with some very interesting lore behind it, and I am definitely keen for a sequel, but at the end of the day, unless you are a huge fan, and really want to know more about the Banuk tribe, there’s no real point to this DLC.

A generous expansion that through its stunning visuals and inspired creature design showcases the best features of the original, even if it doesn’t fix many of its flaws.

Nothing unexpected in The Frozen Wilds. It adds a few pleasant features, a lot of cool characters, side-quests, content, challenges and things to collect to the recipe of a great game. As it's extending its universe well, we can say the job is done. And now we're waiting for the next chapter.

The Frozen Wilds introduces many poorly-designed elements which make it a lesser experience than its brilliant base-game.

The Frozen Wilds is a must-own expansion for Horizon Zero Dawn fans, with a solid new story full of intrigue and emotion.

Frozen Wilds' wintry wasteland looks awe-inspiring, but its story breeds the same disappointment as a melted snowman on Christmas morning.

The Frozen Wilds doesn’t revolutionize or even significantly expand on the best ideas introduced in Zero Dawn. It succeeds in a more straightforward way: by giving us more of an already fantastic game.

It's more Horizon Zero Dawn...No better or worse. More of the same.

The Frozen Wilds has sucked me back into this fictional world in a powerful way. I’m all done with the new story — it takes around 10 hours to complete, depending how you approach things — but I’m not finished with Horizon just yet. There were plenty of things I left unfinished when I wrapped up the main game, but thanks to “The Frozen Wilds,” they won’t stay that way for long. I still have that sense of dread knowing this won’t last forever, but with expansions as good as this, I can hold back the feeling back a little bit longer.

The Frozen Wilds enhances an already excellent game. The improved dialogue for a number of the characters shows that Guerrilla have clearly taken onboard the criticism levelled at Zero Dawn, while the additional enemy creatures are welcome and make the game feel well rounded and complete. I really enjoyed returning to the world of Horizon Zero Dawn and simply can’t wait for the next game.

The Frozen Wilds stands next to the base game, it doesn't surpass it. If that sounds like something you want, I'd recommend it. If not, this won't make the game any better for you. For me, I enjoy Horizon: Zero Dawn, so a little bit more is right up my alley.

When you enter this mission, you will completely forget your main quest. This another world on it own. PS4 owner, this is no brainer. Something that the creators of HZD had thankfully avoided up until now. Defeating the Fireclaws is so tedious and time-consuming, that it gives you enough leisure to ponder how very few new things this DLC has to offer. The weapons are ok, but the armor, the quests, the storyline is just more of what we already know, not to mention the new skill tree, which is really useless and no fun at all. So yeah, don't wanna whine too much, good clean fun over all but disappointing in it's lack of new elements. Full Review »

More of the same, and not just more... 15 hours more! Which isn't bad at all for the price. I missed this game so much when I completed it,More of the same, and not just more... 15 hours more! Which isn't bad at all for the price. I missed this game so much when I completed it, but couldn't be bothered to start a new game because of other games I was playing- this is the chance all fans have been waiting for. Enemies are tougher again due to a plot twist in the story so it is challenging at times again even if you are completely levelled up. There is also a new 'traveller' list of skills to unlock with newly acquired skill points, so you can still level up. Overall this is a no brainier - a must buy for fans of the original. Full Review »
