Oct 15, 2016So I know next to nothing about horror games next to Bioshock. On a VR level this hit all the right spots for me...granted I needed to work though this in fits and spurts (because I'm kinda chicken). But nonetheless I absolutely loved the atmosphere and narrative. Fun experience for twenty bucks.
I should mention I don't get motion sickness from VR at all. So there's that. -
Dec 23, 2016I am giving this a 10 for the simple fact, that it does what it is supposed to do....it scares the crap out of you. it is not an action game or anything of the sort, you are simply walking through, finding some clues/notes here and there, but holy crap there are some really scary moments.

Jun 2, 2017Graphics: 6.0 Sound: 5.0 Gameplay: 6.5 Fun/Story: 6.2 VR mode analysis
After playing resident evil 7 and tomb raider in VR mode, HTL is a real deception. Poor graphics with bad textures and water effects, bad level design and some motion sickness. Of course, as a VR game has some scary moments but it´s not enough. -
Oct 15, 2016After 10 minutes of play is cause massive motion sickness for hours...
Otherwise it would not be bad game, the story is interesting... But don't buy, until patch. -

Aug 13, 2018Free on PSN August 2018 and playable non VR the game has some scary moments but awfully short. Story tackles relationship issues along side split personality and other mental deficiencies but its clear the aim was to focus on the VR side and leave all other aspects at average at best.

Oct 14, 2017An expensive 3 hours of linear so called horror, garbled story line, and a total disappointment to boot.
Add motion sickness and unavoidable deaths to the list above and you define Here They Lie. -
Aug 10, 2018I got this free on PSPlus. I played for maybe 10 minutes, during which there were a couple of decently scary things, but no hint at all as to what the game was about or what I was supposed to be doing. And it's very very slow. I don't demand a lot of action from games, but I do demand at least some action or some story. I decided the best move was to press the PS button.

Oct 27, 2018This is weird game. to be honest I do not really know what to think about it. on one hand the game is creepy and there are cool scary moments in the game but on the other story is strange and VR graphics should be more polished on PS4 Pro. if own PSVR and like scary games then check out this title. Otherwise i would not bother with it.

Jun 10, 2019I had a good time with the game and will admit that I got scared and it's really good at that, In the beginning. As you play through the game at least I think it got just a bit boring nearing the end and it wasn't scary anymore. But apart from that I think it's a great game with a good story.

Feb 16, 2020Meh. Way too little character development, so couldn't care less for any of the characters, but good aesthetics and atmosphere. Decent VR title.

Apr 5, 2020Easily the best psvr in my opinion, amazing game, really feels like you're in another world and it keeps you guessing. I love the creativity in this game, please make a Here they lie part 2 !

Jul 25, 2020One of the best immersive horror experiences. Not as good as RE7, but it also shines in its genre.

Oct 24, 2022it's alright but not for those who has VR sickness and they should try to avoid to play VR games
-
Feb 1, 2023It doesn't seem like much to me, it doesn't even scare me and it's more tedious at times, and the ending, wow wow.

Jan 15, 2019Here They Lie seems like a game made for a very specific type of player who values experience over challenge or even clarity, and thus will leave many gamers cold and nonplussed at its exotic design decisions.
-
Apr 7, 2017As a PSVR launch title from a new development studio, Here They Lie impressed me. Tangentlemen have good ideas, atmosphere and sound design, but ultimately the meandering pacing and sporadic story beats of their work left me feeling more disappointed than scared. I’ll be keeping my eyes on these developers, though — if this is what they deliver for their debut game, I’m eager to see what they serve up next.

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaJan 8, 2017There are wonderfully horrifying moments and some lovely little details, but they’re too few and far between – and getting to them is an exercise in resilience rather than pleasure. [January 2016, p77]
