    My 2 sisters and I loved playing this game. Its so easy to play 3 player local co-op. You soon get used to Friendly fire and how to call in air drops. We enjoyed playing Dead Nation, but the the graphics on HellDivers are so much better which really adds to the game.

    helldivers is like baby from starship troopers and warhammer 40k , fun and addictive but also...... PREPARE TO DIE.......... ALOT !!!! with unlimited replay value, it cant go wrong for 19.99

    Yea, good game, well worth the price (small compare to other games came out around the same time). Who would've thought that friendly fire in a top down shooter will change the game so much, it gets you thinking about forming a line, how best to move as a team etc. Haven't played the game much (only got to level 5), best moments were times when I saved teammates with shots that narrowlyYea, good game, well worth the price (small compare to other games came out around the same time).     Total blast. Baldur's Gate meets Starship Troopers. Absolutely addicting and the best $20 I've spent on a game in recent memory. So much fun and seemingly unlimited playability. I've found myself playing this exclusively now for a couple weeks. Who knew spreading democracy throughout the universe could be so fun. The online co-op is where its at.     Starship Troopers feeling: Check Strategy: Check High difficult: Check FUN: CHECK This game has everything. One of the best coop experience i had so far. The only requirement to enjoy this 100% is some friends. Dont expect to fully enjoy this if you are a solo player.     Lots of fun, lots of laughter, very reasonable price. Cross-play cross-save cross-chat cross-buy? No-brainer.

    It may seem just like another mix of games that you've already played before but Helldivers is something of its own. It has tons of replay ability, progression, and addictiveness. I'm sure you've heard that Helldivers shines brightest with friends. Give this one a try!

    Every game I play either at our place our online, something hilarious/tragic/both happens, everyone laughs out loud, and someone catches themselves saying out loud something to the effect of "Man, this game is awesome!" There's just something about the joy and craziness of this game, and I can't stop playing it. So looking forward to Magicka 2!

    This game... I started to believe in games again.. I could write things forever but no, i want to leave a comment for this glorious game and go back and play.
    Being 30 years old, my faith in gaming industry has died because of companies like ea taking over everything... Anyway oldscool player here, been through a lot.

    So much fun to play. This is such a great example of easy to play and hard to master. Go in Solo, if you have the skills. Check out the Lvl12 solo runs on youtube.

    @Arrowhead: The desperate attempt to get the combinations on the D-pad in utterly stress moments are genius! But then: it is much more fun and sheer crazyness on screen with three other players, that you would miss out on    So much fun to play. This is such a great example of easy to play and hard to master. Go in Solo, if you have the skills. Check out the Lvl12 solo runs on youtube.

    Arrowhead's Magicka roots are definitely apparent, and that's a good thing because they sure know how to make friendly fire hilarious, even when the difficulty is as high as this game. Recommend it to anyone with even a passing interest in twin stick shooters.

    I have been waiting for this game since November 2013 telling myself this is the first Indie game I had ever been looking for ever. Good God is it fun and a breath of fresh air!!! Thank you Arrowhead for making such a fun and different experience while keeping a very high level of graphical quality!

    For those on the fence, this game is loaded with content and hours of playtime.     defenatly a 10/10 if you play with freinds. when your low on ammo waiting for extraction while completly surrounded by enemis and some one sacrifices them selfs so the others can get away. those are the moments in games that are the best. it is definatly not a sp game.

    People can't be too particular! This is the real GAME! FUN is its core. After some controversies on some PS exclusive games, this one is finally an epic one! I have some much fun with my friends playing it! You don't want to miss it!

This is a MUST PLAY for everyone who like twin-stick shooters! Warning! This game is only suitable if you play with at least two people. Online there are a lot of players who wants to coop.     Fun, enjoyably re-playable, and casual but can also demand serious teamwork on harder levels. The matchmaking is easy (though often dangerous). IF you like chaos and teamwork in a well-made shooter, go for it.

    By FAR the most fun i've had in a multiplayer game on my PS4 since i bought it, and for $20? Devs should call the police because this a STEAL! The stratagem system is awesome, the weapons feel diverse and the sounds, oh my god the sound of a machinegun spinning up and spewing death and mayhem in every direction.. If you haven't picked this game up already, treat yourself. And theBy FAR the most fun i've had in a multiplayer game on my PS4 since i bought it, and for $20?     Really...really...really...good. I love this game. It is very satisfying to punch in the various codes to summon items and gear, which was something that had me worried before i purchased it. It looks good, is fun and has a satirical humor. Pick it up if you enjoyed Diablo, Dead nation, Renegade ops, Mortal Kombat, Commando, Contra, Warcraft, Dark souls etc. just get it, you shant beReally...really...really...good. I love this game.     Its a good game with a good "starship troopers" storie!
    Strategic levels and many ways to achieve the missions
    Good to play with friends, good price and a nice option to play while House of the Wolves still in shadows

    Amazing game!!! One of the best multiplayer AND co-op games in ps store. Lots of hilarious moments and almost the only thing I play in the ps vita right now (with wi-fi connection). Buy it! The more we log in, more interesting the game is. The DLC it's not needed.

    One of the all time best couch game! You can't go wrong if you are looking for a game to play with friends/family on the same screen! Unforgiving with the friendly fire (or friendly stomping) but so much fun gets you to communicate a lot with your team mates and there is a real sense of accomplishment when you manage to survive a tough map.
    Also during the game you'll have a lot of    One of the all time best couch game! You can't go wrong if you are looking for a game to play with friends/family on the same screen! Unforgiving with the friendly fire (or friendly stomping) but so much fun gets you to communicate a lot with your team mates and there is a real sense of accomplishment when you manage to survive a tough map.
    Also during the game you'll have a lot of adrenaline rush when you are the last man standing and you need to pitch in the code to save everyone :) When you've been spotted by enemies and reinforcement are coming, when there is a fully armored insect coming at you and you didn't have the time to call for that missile launcher ^^

    If Star Ship Troopers had been a video game it would be Helldivers !    … Expand

    The developers have released generous DLC in the form of new equipment. These are all worth the purchase, but there is no pay-to-win, here. All missions are beatable with the stock weapons and stratagems, but the DLC is there for those that love the game and want more.

    Helldivers is almost certainly the best co-op title available on PS4, and there is an argument to be made that it is the best game, period, on the system.     The best twin-stick shooter that has ever existed! Extremely fun to play with friends. Well designed, well pulled off, well done. Everything is excellent except:
    Poor variety of secondary weapons
    Repetitiveness
    Toxic borgdivers who are pathetic without their Trident and Rumbler.

    Helldivers is by far one of the top games my friends and I have played together since Micro-machine v4, vigilante 8, smash bros, titan quest and marvel ultimate alliance. Helldivers is on top of all that. Amazing cooperation drills, great graphics, simple yet deep gameplay, great adjustable difficulty and lots of content to unlock in-game without having to cash in. Helldivers will hook you up until late at night and is definitely most enjoyable with friends on the same couch. The ability to be able to play offline is a big plus as well. If you want to play online, you ll find a very satisfying speed and next to 0 lag (even in China), and there is an unspoken bro code that will favor team players instead of solo artists. I could only wish for a Helldivers 2, but I don't think that's in the pipeline for this small studio.… Expand

    Somebody finally nailed a co-op dual stick shooter. Missions are short at about 15 minutes that it doesn't really matter so much if you get a crappy team. Lots of fun just working together to complete the objectives. Surprising amount of depth that will keep you playing for a long time with lots of interesting weapons and perks to unlock to keep it fresh.     Boy, this game is an evil piece of... software. Don't expect the game to show you any courtesy or help you in any way, it's tough as nails. But when you beat a mission, you feel like a badass! Not for the faint of heart!

They are complaining about manual reloading, not enough ammo, stratagem key combos etc. Are these guys for real? It is the formula on which this game thrives. It is simply about being able to prioritize your load out before going into a mission and which team member provides ammo drops and when. (To get my point across I am playing the game with my wife and four year old son) Having to key combo stratagems adds a level of intensity and challenge to the battlefield and quite honestly if they made it a one button action, it would make the game extremely boring.

    The visual style of the game is engrossing and reminds me of a Blizzard title - polished. Character movement and general animations are smooth and satisfying to watch. The sound effects are noticeable and immersive. Units have some hilarious chirps, enemy mobs make threatening gestures and again the kill effects are satisfying and make for an extremely addictive experience. I also cannot understand how people are complaining about repetitiveness. Yes, it is repetitive, but the above mentioned mechanics make it a fun repetition. Kind of like the fun you had slaughtering mob after mob in (insert any mmo, rpg hack and slash here).

    To top all this off, each player gains experience per level, amount of kills, objectives completed within a mission, relics found etc. The leveling system is obviously not as deep as other titles out there (like Skyrim as a rather extreme example), but its depth adds enough to make an impact in the game. There are a plethora of weapons to choose from and each weapon has a skill tree to level up making your desired weapon(s) of choice more powerful to suit your style of play. You can also upgrade your stratagems in a similar fashion.

    Another unique touch is the system zone contribution progress bar, which increases each time an online player(s) completes a mission and dominates a planet. When this bar is filled, it initiates a global offensive attack on the alien home world in question, adding a greater sense of immersion knowing there are thousands of other 'Helldivers' out there kicking butt like you all for a common goal - freedom and liberation!

    Overall his game is a fun, well balanced, extremely polished twin stick shooter, satisfying in every aspect and it really shines playing it couch coop.    … Expand

There are things you can unlock by leveling up and there are things you can only get by beating certain planets on certain difficulty. There are also perks you can unlock by using research points.     With some great cooperative mechanics, Helldivers is better when playing with friends, but repetitive missions and maps lacks experience.
