Headmaster is so much more than what it might appear to be, and it’s one of the biggest surprises for me coming out of the PlayStation VR’s launch. It’s creative, funny, and provides a perfect example of what VR could bring to the table, while also being far more than just a VR tech demo.

Headmaster is simple, playable, and incredibly fun. It’s easy to pick up but still provides room for more skilled players to excel and there’s enough playing time here to ensure that your money is well spent. An excellent effort overall.

Headmaster is an easy-to-recommend, addictive and fun little game that is a worthy addition to any PSVR library.

Headmaster brilliantly manages to make a compelling game out of the simple action of simply moving your head around. While its high difficulty and progression system make certain aspects feel like a headache, the rest is pure fun. A surprising story also gets a starring role, and this is one of the best surprises to come out of PlayStation VR’s launch line-up.

No matter whether you’re a football fan or not, Headmaster‘s original gameplay is simple yet utterly addictive, and no minor frustrations can do much to take the shine off of it.

Headmaster also gets bonus points for being hilarious to watch someone play. This might be my favourite PS VR game so far.

Headmaster VR provides a fun, albeit simple, set of objectives that entertains with its dark humor and surreal lessons. The tracking controls are spot-on, making every successful header feel incredible satisfying.
  8. Headmaster is a fleeting but fun little virtual reality romp.

Headmaster VR gives you a new interesting way of training in heading a football. The ball's movement and timing of the headers is quite realistic. Add some humor to the game and you have a really fun game that will keep you busy for a while.

Headmaster scores a funny goal in PlayStation VR with its original (but simple) concept, well-designed challenges and its particular sense of humour.

It's rather good...You don't need to be a football fan to enjoy this. [Issue#180, p.47]

An unexpectedly nice game for the launch line up of the PSVR, Headmaster manages to take the weird premise of a football headers game and enrich it with clever, challenging puzzles and rich, guilt free humor.

The concept is simple and motivating, while the technical execution is solid and delivers accurate head tracking. Unfortunately there can be a bug that can keep you from moving to the next level. Pity.

For as frustrating as failure can be, though, I still greatly enjoy this game and what it's going for. I want to stick it out. Headmaster seems to be flying under the radar as a launch-window PlayStation VR title, but it's one of the most novel experiences out there and decidedly worth trying.

Headmaster is silly, repetitive and simplistic. It’s also possibly the most fun you can have with your PSVR headset, at least in short bursts. A party game that anyone can play, it takes a chance that the core concept is strong enough and pulls it off.

Headmaster scores a hat-trick with its sense of humour, quirky concept, and well-executed gameplay. It's one of those games that you really want to get into, diving around your living room as you try to score the perfect goal. It's a shame, then, that the realities of actually wearing the PlayStation VR headset mean that you can't actually ever unleash your inner-Alan Shearer – but we'd be being pretty harsh if we gave it a red card for something that's out of the developer's control.

For a game with a limited concept, Headmaster does succeed nicely. It sets out to do two things — providing a soccer-style game that shows VR can work with sports-themed games and throw that concept a curveball with some dark comedy. It succeeds at doing very little, and while that may sound like we’re damning it with faint praise, it really is a lot of fun to play. It’s probably the best party-style game of the launch lineup and something that any potential VR owner with a large circle of friends will want to pick up.

Headmaster is a title that is perfect for showcasing the PSVR headset. The gameplay is accessible for everyone, with an activity that the majority of people that would be familiar with, and has a dry sense of humour throughout. If you’re looking for a simple game to play with the PSVR then Headmaster is for you.

Headmaster is a satisfying VR experience that delivers simple gameplay with great humor. It's quite limited and repetitive though, but still a nice game to play (and to explain virtual reality to your friends).

Stripped down, Headmaster is a simple game, but it's well-made and presents itself in a fun, light-hearted way. As a launch game it fulfils its purpose and then some, providing a sizeable challenge but one requiring a level of fidelity the headset itself isn't quite capable of replicating.

Headmaster is a solid experience for testing out the PS VR’s functionality but at its core, the mechanic isn’t sustainable.
