Oct 26, 2018After enjoying the first one I knew this would be a great game. Beat it in about 13 hours or so.
Pros:
- Always enjoy the combat - face paced but tactical as well
- Good difficulty in the platforming sections
- Funny story and especially the turn based parody
Cons:
- Bosses were not very difficult -

Aug 21, 2018After destroying the original game, I thought I was too good at pecking, kicking and jumping to ever be challenged by a game again. None the less, I found myself challenged and stimulated throughout my Mexiverse adventure. I especially liked the Picolo enemy!

-
Aug 21, 2018Guacamelee! 2 is a great adventure in a colorful world with deep mechanics, interesting style, good jokes and funny references. If you love metroidvania genre and liked the first game, then you should buy a sequel immediately.

Aug 21, 2018I've been looking forward to this game for so long and it doesn't disappoint - in fact it has exceeded my expectations!! Loved all the jokes and references :) I highly recommend this game.

Sep 1, 2018Great game. Difficult average, gameplay funny and most varied, but a little bit harder than the first game

Aug 22, 2018I loved the first game and maybe I've just been spoiled by Dead Cells but the combat is just annoying a lot of the time. The dimension mechanic is overused and it just sucks the flow out of the game.
I got thoroughly bored of one-hit kills and the platforming sections were a chore rather than fun.
On the upside, it looks nice and has some decent humour. -
Sep 1, 2018If this had starred a certain italian plumber it would have recieved 10's across the board. and just because dead cells is a 10 , does not mean this isnt. this is a bonafide 10/10 game in its own right.

Aug 23, 2018This game is fun. I love that you don't get lost, but it still feels like a maze. I love the chicken runs.
Great game. Smart writers and funny dialog. So much fun. -
Aug 24, 2018Love first game, sequel is even better, more creative, more challenging and more visually impressive. Great game, strong goty contender.

Nov 21, 2019I loved the overall vibe of the game. The gameplay is refreshing and the level design is good. Some parts are funny, some parts are difficult. Overall i would say that the game is well balanced. I really enjoyed playing this game. The only con is the co-op mode.

Mar 13, 2021Guacamelee 2 offers a solid 2D platforming and metroidvania experience like its predecessor. The sequel from Drinkbox also polishes up the gameplay and adds a few new elements into the mix. However a lacklustre story (even compared to the original) and tedious combat and platforming sections keep Guacamelee's second offering from being a truly fantastic metroidvania.

May 1, 2021Great game! (I played the switch version) great music multiplayer works perfectly and a great game overall

Sep 22, 2022Bel seguito.
Segue il predecessore con piccoli miglioramenti e un ottimo livello di sfida. -
Jul 17, 2022Moment when Juan wears a mask and his "pants" turn bigger is kinda SUS.
This game is like a hollow knight(or other metroidvania) but funnier -

Jan 2, 2019Guacamelee! 2 is a worthy sequel. DrinkBox has retained and refined everything from the predecessor, while adding a number of number new features that improve on the formula. An overabundance of platforming segments can be frustrating, but the combat is as fun and as hectic as ever!

Dec 4, 2018Guacamelee! 2’s penchant for self-deprecating humor often functions as an acknowledgement and dismissal of its own issues. Why yes, it is awfully convenient that I’ve suddenly been pulled into an alternate timeline in which I must save the world in roughly the same manner as my last go, but no, Guacamelee! 2 doesn’t stop being an uncharacteristically halfhearted rehash just because the writers scored a few easy laughs from it.

Nov 7, 2018Fixing what wasn’t broken appears to have been the studio’s number one goal, and they accomplished it. It would have been nice for some more new gameplay elements to have been introduced and for the controls to have received a little bit of precision. It also would have been nice if the Juan had been more fleshed out, as was promisingly teased in the game’s prologue. These issues aren’t deal breakers, though, which means that gamers looking for a good time of cracking skulls and terrorizing enemies as a chicken should find the experience that they seek.
