Maybe the cops intelligence could be better, and i wish they were more places you can visit (like in GTA4 where you were able to go in clubs, museum, hotels aso)

Graphics are even sharper than the last gen ports, the rain effects at night really shine. Rockstar should be commended for this remaster version, GTA 5 was already a great game, but the small details are what matters.

They have really taken advantage of the new system and all its power and made a true upgraded version of the game. The first person mode is neat and unique to this version but wasn't the best method for playing overall; but still it was nice to have the option and was good for sightseeing in the game. If I had any complaint about the single player experience it would be not enough heist missions. It feels like they could have done more with this feature, I have a feeling it was done on purpose to lure people to online play. Overall this game is a must own for the PS4! Expand

This is the game that will go down in history as the game that made every other game developer die of jealousy. This game is addicting. Now I've heard that the customization and side activities aren't as good as Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, but those cons can be overlooked while I slap a 10 on this rating board. This game is very long, so if anybody tells you that it is short, please punch them. Then hand them the game, because they haven't played it if they think it's short. The story it's self is extremely long, not to mention the massive world and side quests. The first person machanics in my opinion were decent, but I'm not a huge first person shooter fan. It is very cool when your driving though. The gameplay is very smooth and not too hard, though I believe that Rockstar amped up the difficulty jus a little bit. The driving at first was bad, but I believe they've fixed it. The story is outstanding and the characters fell so real. You develop a love for each character. You fall in love with the whole world. I was sad when the credits rolled. Even though it took me over 2 weeks to beat this game, I still wanted more. I always turn my games back into gamestop and I decided to keep this one forever. That says something, and I've parted with some good games. This is probably the only game I felt comfortable paying full price for. You feel like it's worth every penny, even to the point to where it seems like a bargain. For parents, the game does have a lot of bad language, sexual references. Strip Clubs and Hookers are completely optional, but sexual references will still be in there. The worst thing is language. It is still a great game as is every Rockstar game. Buy it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Grand Theft Auto IV was about as much fun as watching The Godfather through a dirty coffee filter, and I had expected its successor to do much better. I must say it has, and it has a lot more color than the others. This game centers on three criminals hoping to make it big in the world of bank robberies. My favorite character was Michael, since he was the most relatable of the three. Franklin just came across as a sarcastic snob and Trevor, was well, Trevor. Michael seemed like an actual human being and responds to situations in the most fitting way possible. The story was pretty engaging, but it lost me a couple times in terms of pushing the story along. For example, one mission had me torturing a guy for intel. Afterwards, he said he would have just given it up. It left a question, why didn't he? And what was the information for anyway? All it said is that the other agency was going to get it first, so we could have been killing Miss Daisy for giving one of the agents a funny look at the intersection for all I knew. I also realized another plot hole. Couldn't the whole FIB thing have been avoided if Michael had just said screw you all and walked out the door? Trevor didn't seem to inconvenience him at all when he returned, even when he found out about his secret. His presence in Michael's life made as much of an impact as his long lost dog returned home after running away for being used as a weapon to smash yet another TV. After the campaign ended, the game got bland pretty quick. Doing side missions made as much difference to my experience as the fly that landed on my shoulder while I was driving down the highway, so I didn't even bother after about two of them. After the campaign, you pretty much don't have to do the stock market thing since I had more than enough money to buy whatever I wanted without having to worry about running low. Despite all this, I still had some fun in playing the game. Overall, the game was about as appealing to me as a cold pancake while holding back the syrup until I had eaten all the silverware first. Welcome to gta online, after you've made your generic looking character that looks like everyone else, it's time to grind for money! (or buy a shark card with real money which is stupid as h e l l) You can start by entering a deathmatch! The rules of this game mode is to see who can lock on the first which is boring as f u c k and really cheap. Races are pretty good. The community is an absolute cancer, you are guaranteed to meet; that 12 year old the brags about KD and money, Illegal alien, small mexican children, one old ass man that will try to troll you by following you around in passive mode in a car while constantly honking the same d a m n horn sound (and yes I am speaking from experience). You will be randomly killed by that one british dude that you have no idea how he connected the a eastern -US server. Get s h i t talked to from black men. Things only get more exciting from here though trust me. With the new heist dlc new players are f u c k e d because the only way you can play one is if you own a $200000 and up apartment. Most of the dlcs are pointless. They kinda make you wanna say. "Can you guys just work on the next gta, or max payne," or any of their titles would be great. so you better start grinding for that green bb. Armored cars are a b i t c h and only those type of people drive them (including myself). In conclusion I would like to say that gta online has reduced my level of brain cells and continues to do so as I keep playing this game. thanks for the pepperoni pizza-yours truly-meekhel

The gameplay is fun, the characters are well developed and even though they’re caricatures and criminals, they’re relatable. I really liked the character Franklin who seems like a good guy who is sadly brought up in the wrong neighborhood. Michael seems like a decent guy who has a bad temper but he seems to mean well and then there is Trevor who is a bad dude. There is nothing redeemable about him.

In this game, you’re playing as all three characters and as I said, I liked two of them. Unfortunately, I don’t know what it was but the game was such a buggy mess. I didn’t have it in me to finish the game. I’m sorry to anyone who is actually going to read this. The rest of this is just going to be a rant about the game.

Early on, when Michael and Franklin are still getting to know one another. You meet Michaels son for the first time and you have to chase down the boat. I did all of that and then the game takes you to a repair shop. I pull into the shop and nothing happens, I drive all over the place in the shop and nothing happens. So after 5-10 mins trying different things, I close the game and then start it again.

When I start it up again, it makes me redo that mission again. Then I get to the part where I need to pull into the shop and it instantly triggers a cutscene. Are you kidding me?

Then a little later on, the mission where you end up stealing the super weapon that you end up having to put back because selling it to the Chinese would be bad. I had 3 more major bugs.

The first one is where was I had to drive a forklift and pick up some crates. The problem is, I couldn’t get into the forklift. No matter what I did. The game would not trigger me to get into the forklift. Eventually, I gave up and started running around and then I ended up going to an area where it fails the mission because I’m “caught.”

Then it cuts back a little bit and somehow I’m sitting on the forklift so its like okay. Now I can actually do the mission. But when I got over to the area where I had to pick up crates. I spent 5-10 minutes just trying to pick up crates that I just couldn’t. So I gave up and ran over to the area where I got caught before. Then it cuts me back in the forklift. I just hopped out of the forklift ran straight over to the area where you fail for a third time just so I could skip that section of the mission.

Finally on that same mission. When you play as Franklin and you’re fixed on being the sniper. You can’t move, you can’t do anything other than snipe. The problem is, I couldn’t zoom in and it was dark so I could see the enemies. So I kept trying different things and eventually, Michael died. Fail the mission and restart. I had to sit there and wait 5 minutes for Michael to die 2 other times just so I could skip that section of the mission so I could progress.

This is one of the buggiest games I have ever seen. The fact that this game made a billion dollars and its borderline unplayable is upsetting.

    I feel better now.

    Online:
i would rate the online mode very highly, if it weren't for a few major things. Rockstar seems to want to throw all the DLC's and expansion packs at you as possible, like shark cards and flying cars. But although it's bad that they want you to pay for all the cool interesting pats of online, it also leads to a very toxic player base. You see when you first enter online you'll see dozens of flying cars and tanks and players who hack just waiting to prey on you and completely obliterate you're player. Now you might think that this only happens to noobs but even with me being a level 68 almost gta veteran it still happens.
And this leads to what could be and amazing online mode almost being completely ruined.

People always talk about R*'s attention to detail - whilst, credit where credit's due, that is very true to a large extent, the amount of deficiencies in this title does not justify such a high critical score. Can't help but to wonder if this was an indirect result of R*'s increasing focus on GTAO, where the revenue stream is more sustainable. The biggest GTA to date. While one could argue the graphics and enemy A.I. isn't better than GTA4, there is no denying the improvements to gameplay, and the online mode. The mere fact that it still has a big player base online over 7 years since the PS3 days, this game still is a money maker and providing enjoyment to players all over the world.

Goty 2013, goty for the best remastering 2014 and best-selling game on ps3, ps4, 360 and one. and everything is little for the game of the generation. Steam is always one of the most played games and the first ones are free games. It has sold more than 140 million games and has been shown to be of higher quality than 2020 games that are coming to revolutionize the industry.

It is the most infra-flying game, I simply want to believe because of its popularity and to be the game that has surpassed the exclusives of such a console and some cannot bear it and for that they hate it

The remastering of the game brought many new features such as some aviation missions, or secondary missions, races, many more new cars, a variety of cars and pedestrians on the streets, greater drawing distance, better textures, fov, new weapons,, more animals, peyotes, and first-person highlights and better made than first person only games of 2020.

It has three stories in one, masterfully mixed, each character is for each type of player in the saga.

The story is much more complicated, convoluted and better explained than what people usually see. People are only left with the action and the swearing but it is much more than that. The characters are well crafted and are deeper and have more personality than other games of the time. Michael is divided in his life and what he wants from it, Franklin is a worse person than he seems and Trevor is more friendly and aware of who he is than the other two. Everything you ask yourself playing the game is told in the story, how they met, why they are like this ... The heist missions are new and they have two options with their preparatory missions and apart is the saga game with the most missions varied, fun and long. It's a shame that people don't take the story seriously because it´s the top 3 of its generation.

The secondary characters are very good, not at the level of gta iv but the closest ones have personality to have had their own dlc.

The city is incredible, with city and countryside as many asked after gta iv, it feels alive and is full of curiosities, you can see even the curve of the earth when flying and the bottom of the sea is explorable. Again full of details like all R * games.

There are also those who complain that there is nothing to do behind the story, something totally false. You can hunt, buy businesses and their missions, secondary missions, random characters, aviation test, base jump, shooting range, cinema, shopping for clothes, cars, tune cars, tune weapons, triathlons, etc.

The graphics are the top of its generation considering that it is open world and the amount of things it has such as the ocean, the big map, physics, i.a. objects on screen ... and even being open world it is graphically above linear games

The b.s.o. It is huge and with songs of all styles, the largest and most varied in the saga and far ahead of other open world games with similar themes. The songs created for the game and its missions are also very good and typical of action movies, playing in game situations adding tension and epicity.

The gameplay is an evolution in the saga, now shoot, take cover, shoot without looking out, drive ... everything is different from gta iv. Some may think that it is better or worse but at least it is not a copy and paste and for 2013 it defends itself very well today

After eight years and everything that has been achieved who denies that it is the game of the generation is lying to himself. Gta v is on another level, it took ps3 and 360 to the limit and it only remains to say thank you Rockstar Collapse

By the end of it, I could say that from the writing alone I could give this game a 9. The characters were all very interesting and had great dynamics. It was really a great Hollywood movie with a lot more depth than a 2 hour movie allows.
This game taught me that GTA isn't about running over pedestrians, beating on old ladies on the sidewalk, going to strip clubs and watch subpar character models shake em, like what most "lets play" videos on Youtube led me to believe.
I barely scratched the surface of the game since I mostly did main story missions, but just from that part I thought it was a great experience.

However, even though GTAV is a great game that is providing me with lots of fun, i've gotten way more fun from previous GTA titles. GTAV is an undeniably an amazing technical achievement. It is just the map, the story and lack of content that lets it down. My favourite GTA game is GTA San Andreas from 2004. I'm still playing it 11 years on. The map was huge, extremely varied and well made, the story was brilliant fun and the gameplay and game world was brilliant fun. So when i heard GTAV was returning to San Andreas i got super excited. But then after i got my hands on the game and made my way around the map. It just isn't that varied. They say it is bigger than GTA San Andreas and several other game worlds combined. But it doesn't even feel bigger than GTA San Andreas. The original GTA San Andreas map is so so varied it never gets boring, even 11 years on. GTAV's map got boring pretty quickly. The story is real bad and just plain boring. It is knowehere near as deep as previous GTA games. Maybe because in GTAV you have 3characters to play which bounce off each other. So there really isn't much time or room for them to develop. My favourite GTA story was GTAIV and the character Niko Bellic by a long way. That story was amazing. Sadly GTAV is probably the worst story in the series. The missions simply aren't as fun or as varied as previous GTA games either. I found them a boring chore rather than fun. This time the missions involve planning and prepping ready for bigger heists. The planning and prepping is just plain dull and very basic like the story. The story seems far shorter than previous GTA games too. And there isn't as much to do in the gameworld compared to previous games. The graphics are very impressive, the game world is incredible, the sound is good, just a shame about the map, story, lack of content and characters. Expand

Car physics is weak. Boat physics is meh. Aircraft and heli physics are annoying at best (both cars and aircrafts magically rubberband back to the dirrection opposing to the button you were pressing being the most annoying but it's a tip of an iceberg). Sailboats are pointless and don't sail. Metro is barely usable. Clothing selection is ok, but i expected more. Hairstyles are few and similar looking.

Modding weapons is minimalistic, weapon selection is okay. Modding cars is weak and pointless because most missions don't pay anything and modding costs and you're going to drive the car to a mission just to end the mission and have your car disappear (then you have to drive a long way to the one vechicle impound on the entire map and buy the car back, even if you want to waste money it gets old after a second time).

Story is amazing, for the first 2-3 hours, then quickly becomes meh and lacks direction and any real incentive to go forward. Most side missions are repetitive, boring and often lack any real reward (slowly towing broken cars to police parking lot with the almost same plot everytime is mind boggling, why did they even bother putting that in). First you are told that completing side missions will help you get more people for your heists then heists don't really matter and most side missions lines (i'm 70% in to the story line being a completionist) don't give you any reward for heists. Heists are unrewarding anyway, their storyline is ok but you hardly get any money and most of the time the gameplay aspect of any mission sucks so just enjoy the story and don't try to max it, in fact failing on purpose may be more rewarding just for the dialogue). 90% of the time you will be looking at the GPS driving from point to point anyway, which - surprisingly - isn't that boring considering the nicely built map. In fact doing side missions instead of rushing the storyline will make it harder to max out the completion, it's not a big spoiler but i won't go into that as i don't want put any spoilers here. Doing it other way around will help you enjoy all the game has to offer easier once you finish the game ... except what's the point of that?

Graphics are meh. My first impression, considering I've played it years after release yet it was one of the games I've played after getting a better gfx that can even handle dx12, was how bad the graphics looks. It's bad compared to most games of that time. Scenery is bad compared to Skyrim which had weak graphics (technically) but masterfully composed the scenery to make something beautiful. But considering the work put into the map there are many places where artistic design shines and provides views that probably won't age much with time.

World map, overall, is beautifully mastercrafted with every part of it being handcrafted. No repeating places, no repeating buildings, tons of subtle and less subtle details. Pity the world building is nonexistent and it's very hard, to appreciate. Random encounters are sometimes better than entire side missions. Unfortunately, there are very, very few interiors. A few similarly looking shops and that's mostly it. Side activities are plentiful, time consuming, and often boring (playing tennis could be a separate game, that is if you like realistic fishing simulators... ) TV, ingame pseudo-internet and cinemas are on the other hand surprisingly entertaining once you're fed up with boring missions.

Overall the biggest issue is the gameplay - game is built with good cinematic experience in mind and gameplay - is there - it's just bad and often shoehorned realism kills it. The idea of adding more realism is good it's just the execution that's really bad.

My favorite metaphor for the GTA franchise is this: imagine you have a friend who you often meet at parties. Whenever you do, you tend to have an awesome night of silly conversation and drink-fueled, reckless fun. But every now and then you meet them in a more sober environment during the day, and when you try to strike a conversation... it's just kinda awkward and not the same. Likewise,My favorite metaphor for the GTA franchise is this: imagine you have a friend who you often meet at parties. Whenever you do, you tend to have an awesome night of silly conversation and drink-fueled, reckless fun. But every now and then you meet them in a more sober environment during the day, and when you try to strike a conversation... it's just kinda awkward and not the same. Likewise, in Grand Theft Auto V you'll often find yourself immersed in the most crazy, action-filled, over-the-top criminal adventures. But every now and then, an extremely mundane section comes along and ends up feeling like the sober day job part of the characters' lives. Oh well, a night-only friend can still be a great friend if you just focus on what makes the friendship tick, and the same happens with Rockstar's latest.

GTA V has you playing as three main characters: rookie hustler Franklin, retired thief Michael, and complete-freaking-nutjob druglord Trevor. Their stories start intertwining as you make your way through the game's campaign, and the writing is decent enough that the many cutscenes are actually very enjoyable to watch. The gameplay is your typical GTA fare: a very competent action-adventure romp that throws you into an open-world city (or, in this game's case, an entire small state) and tasks you to survive by making it big as a criminal. You'll steal vehicles, drive around town, enter gunfights with rival gangsters, run from the police, and ocasionally pick up a hooker. Controls are mostly intuitive and the action is responsive.

Like in pretty much every GTA game since the first one, the real star of the show is the seamless open-world exploration. GTA V's state of San Andreas features a whole bunch of different environments, from the bustling metropolis of Los Santos to small villages up north to vast patches of mountain wilderness. There are a lot of cool details waiting around for your attention, such as the entire episodes of fictional TV shows you can watch. Just wandering around can be pretty great; at one point, I stole a jet-ski and went around the state, just looking for stuff. I found a deserted beachside camp with more jet skis, then tried to find my way back to civilization while terrorizing wild animals and unsuspecting citizens unlucky enough to be driving nearby. It's this sort of mindless fun that's arguable the game's greatest strenght.

But of course, there are also more structured missions. This is where the game (the franchise, really) fluctuates wildly in quality for me. I mean, stealing a top-secret army weapon or torching a competitor's meth lab can be fun enough. But then you end up doing stuff such as operate a crane, tow a car, or going drinking with a friend for no discernable in-game benefit... and frankly, those can get so dull that it beats me why they're even in the game (and worse, some as mandatory campaign missions).

Some other missions have different problems: the worst offender in my eyes makes a minigame out of a brutal torture section. I fully believe that game violence can be done in a mostly harmless way, especially when it's as wonderfully overblown (and tongue-in-cheek) as it generally is in GTA. This sort of thing, however, feels like taking a turn for the disturbing just for the hell of it, especially because the actual gameplay in the aforementioned mission is completely dull and uninteresting.

Controversies aside, it's hard not to admire GTA V for what it does well. It's a game that is fun a lot of the time, especially because it eschews any sort of faux-serious vibe, opting instead for the serie's trademark penchant for the zany. It may be overrated in my eyes, but it's still worth your time.

After putting the same amount into the 8th generation version can say it still is my one of my favourite Rockstar games.

Over the years since the game first arrived in 2013, many voices have spoken out about the negative aspects of the title. The confusing character motivation, the muddled plot, the over-abundance of micro transactions in the online portion. I can understand each of these points however, the reason i give this a 10 is because despite these issues i still find myself jumping back into this game to this day, even after several 100 hours of playtime i can still have a great time doing wanted survival runs in single player, or playing the ridiculously constructed custom race courses in the online portion.

To summarise I feel that this game push the limits for the xbox 360 and ps3, and i think in some aspects not even the majority of ps4 or xbox one games have been able to match it yet.

    Pros:
    - Great value for money
    - Top level graphics for an open world game
    - Much improved controls over prior rockstar entries
    - Strong Online Component that gets regular updates
    - Solid motion capture performances from Steven Ogg, Ned Luke and Shawn Fonteno
    - Much improved mission quality from previous GTA games
    - Varied and impressive track list selection
    - Useful and fun video editor feature
    - Improved graphical performance and additional features over previous generation version e.g. first person mode

    - Story can become convoluted and muddled in certain parts
    - Character motivation can also seem muddled and inconsistent

GTA... where do I begin? Well, to make a long story short, I love this game! Perfect? No! But enjoyable, nonetheless. This game will not be for everyone (um, duh!), and if you couldn't get yourself to enjoy San Andreas or GTA IV, you probably won't enjoy this, either. But, I had a blast!

For one thing, the visuals look amazing! Although I'm not someone to bag a game over it's a visuals, I can clearly see they put a lot of time and effort into making this game look this good. The story and writing is also interesting. While the narrative can get a little a fuzzy at times, and the characters are not exactly Joel and Ellie or Lee Everett and Clementine, the tale it tells still intrigued me. If you're someone who just looks at GTA V as just a pointless Murder and Crime simulator, I beg you, look deeper into it! It's actually a VERY satirical piece about American culture with crime in it, and let me tell 'ya, I laughed my bum off playing this.

Where my issues with this game begin to start are some missions.
Sometimes, you'll get stuck on a mission because you didn't look at one obscure detail that you missed, or you'll fail one because you're supposed to be chasing someone and 50 bagillion cars will get in your way and slow you down to a boiling point. Also, I hate flying in this game.
Absolutely hate it. I've also heard Online is rather mediocre, but I haven't played that yet.

Regardless, GTA V has quickly become one of my favorite games ever made... right up there with The Last of Us, Half-Life 2, and Telltale's The Walking Dead... Season 1 (not so much Season 2).

Bought this game on my PS3 and then PS4, definitely worth the repurchase. Enjoyed playing through the whole story again with nicer graphics and new features. The story, as always is superb, packed with unique incredibly funny humour you can't get enough of.

I could discuss how this is the first "Grand Theft Auto" game that I played fully, I could talk about how scared I am that people are already going to hound me for giving this anything lower than a 9, but I realized that I don't really need to introduce this too heavily because at this point, "Grand Theft Auto V" has not only been one of the most successful video games of all time, but it's also been one of the most profitable pieces of entertainment (film, TV, gaming, music, etc.) to exist in the world. With 95 million copies shipped (as of May 2018) and over $6 billion in revenue, chances are you've heard a fair deal about this game. It's also one of the most well-reviewed games in the history of this website, and it was the recipient of a heavy amount of awards and praise, with some going as far as to call it one of the greatest games ever. So, it comes with a bit of disappointment that after playing through and beating the main campaign...I think the game is merely "good." Not "excellent," not "all-time great," just "good."
"Grand Theft Auto V" definitely has a lot going for it in regards to its technical achievements. The large open-world of Los Santos is absolutely stunning, and there are so many great, small details throughout Los Santos that make it so fascinating and grand to explore. The game also has a great idea going with its multiple-protagonist style of play, and it also helps that each protagonist is very compelling. The game features some excellent (if very controversial) writing and acting, and the characterization is top-notch. Once again, Michael, Franklin and (especially) Trevor really help bring the game to life. The controls are also strong, free-roaming around Los Santos and engaging in anarchy can be very fun, and the addition of Grand Theft Auto Online helps to make things even more fun.
All of this said, though, I feel like several aspects of the gameplay are what hold me back from really loving the game. I've heard a number of critics talk about how "varied" the missions were in the game, but I just have to wonder if I was playing the same game, because I honestly found the mission structure to be too frustratingly repetitive. And while it is satisfying when you beat all of the missions, and the heists can be pretty enjoyable, it almost feels to me like you're just doing the same things over and over. On top of that, there are just so many minor frustrations with the gameplay that really add up to dampen the experience for me, such as the poor controls of several vehicles, and the fact that the game allows you to skip missions after three fails, thus kind of ruining the essentialness of completing them. If you can purposely fail them to continue on with the game, where's the actual gameplay motivation? Honestly, given all of those frustrations, and with the fact that people were calling this a game that would bridge the seventh generation of gaming into the eighth, I would've been terrified playing this in 2013 and seeing it as a "bridge game," because I certainly wouldn't want to live in a generation of games where you can literally speed through a game by purposely failing at it.
I know, I know, I'm being very critical of the game, and I do enjoy it, honestly. It's a very well-made game, but given that it holds something of a hierarchy in gaming and is frequently classified as one of the all-time greats (and one of the most popular), I'm obviously going into it with my standards set at an extreme high, and it just doesn't quite reach them. Yes, it's certainly an enjoyable game, and I can see the appeal of it, but with the fact that everyone says it's one of the best games ever made, I can name a good chunk of games that I would still say are better than this, a few of which have even been released in the five years since this. That said, though, it's still a solidly enjoyable game, and I did have my share of fun with it, so I would definitely recommend giving it a shot. I just hope you get a little more out of it than I did.

GTA V's tempered escapism makes for an interesting game that is definitely the best GTA game to date. GTA V may be the best value of the decade, offering up more single player and on-line activities than I would ever want to play. The immersive travel system makes these activities less fun than they could have been, and that makes the game a little less than perfect.

GTA V may be the best value of the decade, offering up more single player and on-line activities than I would ever want to play. The immersive travel system makes these activities less fun than they could have been, and that makes the game a little less than perfect.

The PS4 version of GTA V reminds me of when I would play ports of PS1 games on PC. I played games like Metal Gear Solid, Driver, and Spider-Man on my gloriously powerful PC at the time and they all ran at resolutions and framerates that PS1 players could only imagine in their dreams. That is how well GTA V plays on PS4. The art style seems realistic but is just a little bit cartoonish with just a little to bright of a color pallet, just enough to cross over the uncanny valley and make the game easy on the eyes.

The gameplay is a fascinating exercise in easy mode. Shooting is as simply as moving in the general direction of the enemy, pulling the left trigger, letting auto-aim do the hard work for you. Driving is a little more difficult, but made easier with nearly indestructible cars. Check points are used liberally, so no more listening to 10 minutes of dialogue every time you have to retry a mission.

Although GTA V is a sandbox game, not many results can be generated with creative thinking. The only real effect you can have on the game is when the game lets you loose to drive free, toss sticky bombs, direct cars into oncoming traffic, and generally taking advantage of the a.i.

The single player game has a story to tell and this story has themes that are bigger that you might expect from a murder simulator. One character in particular, Micheal, is a middle aged bank robber going through his mid-life crisis. He is every gamer who grew up in the 80s and you will identify with him more and more as you get older. Then there is Trevor, an unrepentant serial killer who is every toxic gamer the media blames for every mass shooting.

Many games make turn the protagonist into a mass murderer even though humans are hardwired to form cooperative communities. This is why I often wonder how simulated mass murder became escapism. The creaters of GTA have always filled the game with biting satire and no satire has been so great as having the players pretend to be mass murders by controlling an actual serial killer.

As distasteful as Trevor was to keep alive for story reason, I kept playing the game becasue of Micheal, my middle aged bro. Micheal's missions are set up as if Micheal has no choice in the matter. He even tries to keep NPCs safe from Trevor. Ultimately, Micheal has to make the big score before he gets too old. The game teases you with the big score for a good 20 hours of game play, and you will not be dissappointed. We’re talking straight up playing a Fast and the Furious movie.

I did not play much of GTA V's online mode. What I can tell you is that 1) the online mode is a little stuttery and janky, 2) the online mode has lots of things, 3) RockStar makes a lot of money in micro-transactions, and 4) people are still playing GTA online in 2020. That last point should mean the most to the players. The jankiness of GTA online bothered me too much to give it another thought. I imagine that eventually I would hit up agaisnt micro-transactions, and my piddling play-time amoutning to very little when compared with what I could buy with real currency.

Ultimately, the game could have been better with a little more focus on the fundamentals, which are setting up the perfect robberies. That means no bloodbaths that would leave a lot of evidence, and maybe RockStar figures their playerbase would revolt at a more nuanced experience. They could at least provide the option.

The game is brilliant in two main parts:

    1) Main story, with he different characters, their lifes, the voice acting, the animations ... Excelent, superb!. Following the main story missions is what makes this game shine.

    2) Open world graphics! Might not be as good as on PC, but depending where you are or what you are doing the graphics of this game can go from good to gorgeous. The lights, details on the streets, the water, flying the plane. Brilliant.

Now, this game can be definitely be improved in these aspects:

    1) The shooting parts. The animations are smooth and look cool yes, but it handles extremely SLOW. Also, whats with the auto aim? It ruins all the fun, seriously.

    2) Driving. OK... how many GTA's have been released now? If one of the main features in the game is stealing cars and driving around, why is the handling so damn BAD?? The brakes are super super sensitive, the handbrake makes the car slide into infinity, and it's just close to impossible to take corners in a satisfying way with a fast car.

Overall, excellent game, well worth the money. But in my opinion it can be improved a lot. I'd rather have a game with less content but good handling.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The city of Los Santos is magnificent and well visualised. The beautiful environment of the rural area, the detailed building, roads, vehicles in the suburban area and the humans and animals are again detailed made this game a modern masterpiece. Graphics are outstanding and gives life to a fictional city.Main protagonist who are very fun and exciting to play and a world were you can pretty much interact and do anything you want.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is a **** great time. Characters like Franklin, who is calm, smart, ambitious and rational, Michael a narcissistic but a likeable person, Trevor is a difficult person to deal with: extreme, impetuous, vengeful, psychopathic, unhinged, unpredictable, untamed, infamous, homicidal, and prone to violent outbursts and destructive rampage which I **** love. Those three characters have great chemistry and fun to play. The story are interconnected, each has it's own missions culminating to an ending where they work together(Option C) or Franklin will decide who to kill(Option A&B). The story is not as dark or realistic or as interesting as Grand Theft Auto 4, but the story gives more of a satire feelings or the game is a one big great satire of a typical American household. And what Grand Theft Auto 5 done right is the customisation and variety of vehicles, places, people, clothes, shoes, guns and so much more. Grand Theft Auto 4 is grounded reality and dark Grand Theft Auto 5 is a complete of opposite of it. There so many improvements to the game and gives so much things to do and lots of fun Easter eggs. On the other Aiming mechanics, stealth crap are better than ever.

There nothing bad I can say, It's truly an achievement for the gaming industry, it gives us the things and feelings that a video game can truly be a masterpiece if done right and with great amount of effort and teamwork.

Anyways, we all know what a GTA game is by now. Open world, complete freedom, and larger than life characters. In the 5th installment you play as 3 different characters. There is Franklin. The fun loving, grew up in the hood but wants more out of life kinda guy. There is Micheal. The middle aged bank robber who was relocated in the witness protection program as well as his small fortune and dysfunctional family. Then there is my personal favorite, Trevor. Trevor is your all but typical wild card. He has several screws loose but hes insanely intelligent. Its just hidden behind a red-neck, hillbilly exterior. Trevor is a DIY kinda guy with a nasty temper. These three characters allow you to see from each person's perspective. All motivated by their own desires this makes for an interesting trio. All that said, I am not sure I really like being 3 different people. I feel like you lose out on that feeling of building an "empire" like the last few GTA games. Every time I switch characters I am reminded that this is a video game. You are probably thinking "well, no sh@t its a video game." I'm just saying it constantly disconnects you through the whole switching process, quite literally I might add. Other than that any gripes I had are pretty much non-existent. It is a near perfect game. If you can think it you can do it, which makes for a pretty fun time. First person mode was also implemented and even though it has it's flaws during certain actions like getting to cover it works really well, and almost turns GTA 5 into a whole different game believe it or not. The visuals are amazing, and much better than the ps3 version (not that the PS3 version looked bad at all). Draw distances are way better. If it rains there are actual puddles that form in the street after which you can actually see reflections in the water. All in all its astonishing to look at. Most of the missions are pretty fun, some may seem repetitive at times, but they all get you closer to success. You will come across some missions that are basically heists. It gives you the ability to plan and select other criminals that specialize in certain things like hacking, driving, or combat. Everyone knows heists never go quite as planned so it can lead to some really interesting outcomes. If you are that one guy or gal that hasn't played GTA 5 yet you really should. Even if you already played it on previous consoles this "remastered" version is just different enough to warrant another play through. Expand

It lacks an interessting, compelling story. The World looks nice but you cant really interact with it. buildings are dummies, people are robots.

You get some cars, listen to some music, shoot some people, drive down the highway into the sunset.
