    If you are looking for a copy/paste of older GT games with better graphics, this is not the Gran Tourismo for you, it is a whole new focus towards actual racing. Of which I greatly enjoyed. The "campaign" mode is simply propelling you towards being competitive in the online racing portion. Personally, I love this new focus, How much more fun is it to compete against real drivers than justIf you are looking for a copy/paste of older GT games with better graphics, this is not the Gran Tourismo for you, it is a whole new focus towards actual racing. Of which I greatly enjoyed. The "campaign" mode is simply propelling you towards being competitive in the online racing portion. Personally, I love this new focus, How much more fun is it to compete against real drivers than just another race against the ai?

    Hopefully this will add to the longevity of the multiplayer portion of the game. I can't even get a race in DIRT 4 anymore the online participation has gotten so bad.    … Expand

    Brilliant racer. Stunning graphics, great sim physics and FFB, decent AI and the best online mode anywhere. A real step up for Gran Turismo. Very glad they ditched the old career mode and focused only only quality, hope this direction continues.

    Sin duda ha perdido la esencia de Gran Turismo. Y una cosa graciosa es que antes de poder jugar en partidas online, debes ver 2 vídeos de unos 2:30 minutos dónde hablan de la deportividad.. bueno, pues cuando inicias tu primera carrera, los oponentes hacen    ¿Donde está el modo GT? ¿Por qué esa necesidad imperiosa de tener conexión a Internet permanente incluso para guardar el progreso?.

    Le pongo cero no por darle la contra a estas nuevas politicas de obtener la mayor rentabilidad, sino por el simple hecho de que ven al consumidor como una fuente de dinero que paga lo que le ordenan.
    Uno trabaja, quiere divertirse con los videojuegos, pero las empresas de videojuegos solo quieren dinero hasta que el consumidor deje de ser una fuente útil de dinero.

    Gran Turismo Sport is a good game, but unfortunately after many years in development, the game still came out incomplete and with several flaws that bothered me a lot when I played the Demo version just a few days ago and that are present in the final version, which I I'll report here:

    The graphics of the game are good but with 2D trees, weak textures in many places of the game, reflections in very low definition in cars bodywork, no dynamic climate and no rain, with car damage system very simple and failed, and when you hit the side of the track after a few seconds your car magically starts to move sideways to return to the correct position on the track.
    A game with much less cars than its competitors, with fewer cars also on the track than the F7 (700 cars) and PC2 (180 cars), consequently with less tracks to run.

    Career mode does not exist, just take licenses, The focus of the game are online, now I hope Gran Turismo 7 is a complete game and not with so many failures and absences that left its competitors well above this game that took many years .    … Expand

    It is sad really that people are trying to debate 2 racing games that are clearly different with forza being arcade and gt being a simulation. Anyway this is a overall good game and is deserving of your time as it is a rather fun onlin experience with other people just be warned that offline is a bit limited.

    We won't have a 1000 cars but the ones we have are the best in any racing game (quality wise). Tracks? The same. But if you think about it, those two things can be added and integrated into the game without a problem. All the amazing game structure is already here.

    I played all the GT games since 1998 and I wasn't so stoked about a GT since the days of GT4. This is hands down a great game.

    I own Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2m just to let that out there.    … Expand

    The Good - Amazing cars models - Amazing graphics (shaders, textures, lighting looks so realistic, hdr is breathtaking.... and no - - excessive motion blur when you are driving) - Amazing sound and music - Incredible user interface (so classy and **** fast to use, the best I've seen in a racing game) - Livery is gonna be huge in this game - Replays.... no words - No    9.5

    The Good

    - Amazing cars models

    - Amazing sound and music
    - Incredible user interface (so classy and **** fast to use, the best I've seen in a racing game)
    - Livery is gonna be huge in this game
    - Replays.... no words
    - No microtransations
    - Good amount of tracks on the release date (the vast majority are excellent, which is good, and we know there will be a lot more with DLCs)
    - The gameplay is out of this world. GTS has one of the best, if not the best, racing simulation ever created. You can feel the tension of running on a track, feel the cars weight and how it interacts with the track... the driving physics in GTS is unprecedented, a huge improve in the series. GTS is addictive. You just want to play more and more
    - We know that GTS is focused on online racing, but the modest campaign mode brings fun challenges to killing some time ... and get some trophies...
    - Online races are so fun. The lobbies have been perfectly crafted for a great experience with other players, you can even interact with them (CHAT, yeah there's a text chat inside gts *-*)
    - Social: there's a charming social network integrated to the game, where you can share screenshots, comment and enjoy other players content, follow users, publish your own liveries and download liveries from others users to use on your cars. This aspect is perfect for the GTS.

    The bad

    - The list of cars at launch. It could have at least 300 cars. They will add a lot more with DLC, but it's a disappointment here.
    - No rainy weather so far. I don't care about dynamic weather and I don't know if they will add this soon, but the lack of rainy weather at the launch disappointed me

    VR: Unfortunately I haven't tested the VR mode, because I don't have PSVR. I should get one soon tho.    … Expand

    There comes a time when people need to take off their fanboy hats and look at games with open eyes. As this game has been in development for over four years, I truly wonder why. No single player, awful car physics, badly rendered cars and crowds, this game looks terrible on my PS4. So disappointed and tbh angry. I feel like I'm driving on plastic rather than tarmacked tracks. And theThere comes a time when people need to take off their fanboy hats and look at games with open eyes.     Un superbe Gran Turismo. Une claque monumentale en 4K HDR , une conduite excellente avec un Volant je suis avec le TGT qui va encore bien plus loin dans les sensations ouverte , un pure régale

    Un Gran Turismo comme on les aime, toujours cette flamme qui s'allume au moment de l'intro et qui reste jusqu'à ce qu'on éteigne la console. Merci Polyphony.
    Je voulais mettre 9, mais pour contrebalancer tous les 0 mis par les rageux qui veulent pas que GT ait une meilleur note que Forza, je mets un 10.

    The BEST racing game EVER!! I Love it so much, for a start of this ultimate driving franchise! Hundreds of cars to use and more than 10 insanely competitive racing tracks to race in too.

    A great car game simulator that keep great after many years. The car simulation is better than never, with sensibility as how much you press the accelerator. A great experience online that is the focus of this game. But is sad to see so many critics that don't know that this game has focus on multiplayer complaining the offline content, a shame.

    Gran Turismo arrives in its new spectacular edition, graphically the game is beautiful a true racing simulator. With details in which your competitor Forza 7 does not have the Kaz team is to be congratulated.

    I am not a fanboy for Forza and I am not fanboy for Project Cars 2. I've played all 3 games and so far, I've played Gran Turismo franchise since PS1 for GT2.

    Lacking cars was the biggest issue for me. I am massively disappointed. It went 1060 cars from GT6 to 140 cars. Not even enough comparing to FM7 or even PC2. Tracks, smaller. And lastly, the weather doesn't exist for realism game    I am not a fanboy for Forza and I am not fanboy for Project Cars 2. I've played all 3 games and so far, I've played Gran Turismo franchise since PS1 for GT2.

    Music was probably the best thing and Photo Mode too. Other than that the Livery Editor is no different from FM7 but less. Career mode was gone. Everything is online strictly, and it disconnects a lot with my 150 mbps/ 5 ms ping.

    Gameplay: 3/10
    Graphics: 6/10
    Sound: 9/10
    Content (Cars/Tracks/Weather Feature/Career): 1/10

    PD needs to step up better next time. 4K for PS4 Pro is 1800p in this game.    … Expand

    A tiny slice of what used to be a large pie. The refocus to online competition is nice, but not at the cost of the single player experience. Containing a limited number of cars and tracks, GT: Sport serves as a sample of the inevitable GT7, only at full retail price.

    So went from awesome single player to none...which is a issue for i do not let my son play online yet. And on top of that PD went from 1000+ cars to less than 150...in 4 years!!!???? Just a damn shame...game is worth 19.99 tops. Gonna just stick with GT6 and wait for GT 7. ...in 4 years just mindblown.

    No dynamique weather,
    No colisions..
    Some Cars doesn't exist.
    And it's a rly online game.

    GT 2 and 3 was so amazing games, the past is better...

    Four years of waiting and the outcome is shameful
    GT Sport lost 900 cars relative to the GT6, Lost half the tracks, lost the campaign mode, It only works online, No dynamic Weather, no real time of day variation
    The sound seems vacuum cleaner Totally artificial

    This game is a disaster. 160 cars, poor single player campagin, no weather conditions and on andf on and on. F2P game really but with a mental pricetag. Its nowhere near as good as PC2, Forza 7 or even Dirt. Massive disapointment.

The online racing had me totally immersed, and for the first time in my racing career lol i actually care if i hit another car and find the racing line as i go around a corner. The rating system they have makes even the most crazy drivers want to drive safer which is great news for people that take these racing sims seriously. At first i was a little disappointed that the campaign is a little lackluster and that weather effects are missing at launch, but after racing online and striving to level my driver rating i totally forgot about those short comings and i doubt i will spend much time in the campaign at all.

    I've been reading some reviews that talk about the lack of a campaign and realize that if these people dislike GT Sport for this reason then they, in my opinion, really don't care for racing sims in the first place because anyone that loves a challenge will find it in the online racing. It's kind of like someone being upset that a EA sports game doesn't have a campaign. Would it be nice to have a story mode for NHL 18? sure, but believe me when i say that the last thing on those players minds is a story mode.

    most of these user reviews that score GT Sport in the red are nothing but Forza haters trying to derail GT, NEVER GONNA HAPPEN :) Best racer I've ever played.

    This is GT SPORT (not GT7), so most disappointments are coming out from BASIC misunderstanding in here. This ver imo aims at online racing and content mostly. Cannot wait for E-Sports with this one!!
    Editing and customization is extensive, cars set-up is pretty much focusing on morst important stuff - settings. Really slight    Game looks and feels awesome! Realism is top of the league.

    A refined physics engine, class leading graphics/audio and best of all great fun.

    I would love to Deep Forest, Trial Moutain, Miedfield Raceway, Apricott Hill, Autumm Ring and Grand Valley Speedway.

    I hope you bring it in the future as well as Red Rock Valley Speedway. Finally!

    There is no rain. This is a shock in the current technological situation.

    Anyway, I loved the new circuits, especially Lake Maggiore and Dragon Tail. I loved the addition of Interlagos. Graphically the game looks great.

    The problem is in content. Very limited content ended the game. The lack of career mode and the meager number of racetracks has impaired the game.

    Replays are almost looking real!
    No other game looks so realistic.
    A lot of passion in it.
    More content would have been welcome....

    There are not alot of cars in this game. The single-player mode is a shell of a game.

    Really disappointed in the single player.
    Don’t let the trickery of screenshots fool you either as they have been using screenshots from scenery mode (where they put the car model on real pictures to make it seem photo realistic) and videos have been ofnthe 30fps replay modes where they add extra effects.

    I had high hopes for the new Gran Turismo the greatest driving simulator of all time but.... myself and many others want a campaign, i want to win the Sunday Cup again. This feels like a demo, not many cars compared to competitors less tracks also.

    Maybe when GT7 drops we will have a full game.

    This has got to be one of the most weirdly underrated games of all time. Unless you're a pleb with no internet or an xbox fanboy, then you're gonna have a good time, especially with a wheel. Not to mention there's a heap of 'offline' stuff anyway.

    In my top 20 games of all time & still putting out free monthly DLC 2 years on. Bravo

They cry about it only because of nostalgia factor.     2. This game is a "Live Service" type game. This means that almost all of what GT Sport has to offer is available online ONLY. When offline, you cant access your save (God forbid you win a long race, and suddenly your internet OR the game goes down for maintenance) and you can only access arcade mode, with a few selected cars for you to choose. Very lackluster for a game that was known to be the king of driving simulation!
    3. This game's community is nothing but toxic, begging, self promoting, skill shaming tw*ts. For an online game, especially on here, this is not a good thing. If you do not use a wheel, or even a $5,000+ pointless setup, expect people to hound at you on public lobbies (this game's equivalent to a casual, unranked game), and kick you for the slightest mistake.

    Rating: 5/10
    TL;DR: This game has massively improved as of December 2020, but the toxic community and live service crap continues to move along. I could rate this higher, maybe a 6 or a 7. However, as we get closer to the anticipated release of Gran Turismo 7 for the PS5, the future of this game's play-ability gets more and more dire with every new announcement and update that comes out.     it depends on what you from it. If you want to race people in a competitive environment, online, then this is a must buy. The daily races are excellent, because they pair you up with drivers with a simalar skill level to you. Also, the saftey rating means if you play nice, you will not be paired with any rammers, unlike (cough cough) Forza. However, if you want a juicy offline career mode,it depends on what you from it.     Good game. There's a lot to do. Nice that they also promote the car brands by having a museum. It's a realistic game. A bit difficult at first, but this quickly improves after a while.

I remember when I had my Ipod stolen a few years ago- how violated and helpless I felt at the time.

    I feel that way now..

    So I guess I don't understand the mindset of the modern game makers. I believe Clash of Clans may have started this pay to play process -Which is the ultimate form of Politics- but I absolutely loathe to think this will happen to console games. I have Forza 7, and kept reserving the "King of Racing" title because I knew this game was on the horizon...and just had one last hope of redemption. But I believe they just nickel-ed & dimed their way to the bottom of the pack with this.

    Everything I hate about modern gaming. You need the internet to play. There's a massive download before you can play even if you bought the disc. There's no career mode. There's hardly any cars, more cars will only be available in DLC. You have to race other users and they can just ram you off the track for fun and ruin the game.

    The only positives are the car handling and visuals.

Thank goodness there are some quality racing sim games that can compete, but I have always been a GT fan. I'm disappointed but not really surprised.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This "product" doesn't deserve its name. It is, by far, the worst ever title to bear the GranTurismo name. In a spectacular move, Kazunori Yamauchi gives the two-finger salute to 99% of the fan base and now exclusively caters to the top 1% of online racers. For everybody else it is an exercise of spaffing 400 Euro up the wall for a PS4 and a game that is utterly devoid of content.

    The single-player content is an afterthought at best. You have driving lessons that are so ridiculously easy, it makes me wonder if they are targeted at one-armed Parkinson patients. The driving missions do pose a challenge occasionally, but only because the player is put into a motorized wheelie bin and tasked with overtaking a Bugatti Veyron.

    The very core of Granturismo, the tuning aspect, has been completely removed. Cars can no longer receive suspension, brake and transmission updates to go with power increase. As a result, one ends up with completely pointless cars that handle like a hogwashly bladdered ballerina in army boots.

    For anyone familiar with the true Granturismo titles (GT1 through GT4), this overprized unpolished turd of a game is an absolute insult.    … Expand

    I've played the Gran Turismo series since the very first one on the original Playstation. It's had some bumps along the way but nothing like Sport. With no career mode and an always online requirement, it's an easy pass for this game. Maybe in 3-6 years if GT7 returns to normal, it would be worth getting.

    Solely for the VR implementation which I was so looking forward to can understand the graphics and car count limitations but what is unbelievable is the omission of any 'sport' why could they not put in a time trial and more than 1 or 2 laps for a bit of competition is beyond me?     BUT the reason it does cost full price is because it comes from Polyphony and is called Gran Turismo.
    Therefore, it's not the price that is unfair, but the branding.
    I would recommend GT6 for people who enjoy car simulations and collecting cars.

    Ultimate disappointment. To think that the GT series has such a pedigree, you would at least expect to have some kind of enjoyment playing this game.
    Main gripes are...

Whilst I would agree that most people who own a PS4 are permanently connected to the internet anyway, there are times when one would like to take a PS4 on holiday, to a friend's house, or simply the internet might be down. Needless to say, the massive restriction placed upon the user by NOT being connected to the internet is ridiculous.
    2. 12GB update file before you can even load the game. Why even bother producing physical media if you're going to end up downloading pretty much the whole game anyway.
    3. No difficulty settings. Not everyone is a hard core online master... Games like this should make it possible for users who are less skilled to still have fun playing the game. By lowering AI difficulty in order to "win" races, people can slowly develop their skills whilst still getting a positive feeling from playing the game... to constantly have to retry a challenge just to get a win you're putting casual gamers off.
    I'm selling my copy immediately, thankfully I didn't purchase it through the online store but I still feel robbed of £40+    … Expand

    I'm writing this review in 2019. We have now offline career, arcade mode with offline random races against bots, time trial, vr mode and more. I'm loving it.

    - Graphics and performance are the best this generation can offer. - every car available in vr - split screen - cars have a great feeling and sound - unlocking cars is easy with daily workouts - intuitive UI, great artsyle -    I'm writing this review in 2019. We have now offline career, arcade mode with offline random races against bots, time trial, vr mode and more. I'm loving it.

    - great original tracks, my fav being so far dragon trail and blue moon area
    - has such a relaxing look, with no special effects, water fountains and fireworks. it's just pleasure to lay eyes on it
    - music in menu is very stylish. the racing music I'd rather turn off
    - replays look great

    The only downside is that sometimes it crashes in menu, but maybe it's just my case.    … Expand

    - Car tuning and customization ? The worst ever, you can only changer the weight or the power, no brakes or aerodynamic upgrades, no aftermarket parts

    Estafa y gasto de espacio en tu Ps4, así de simple. Que para disfrutar la mayoría de la opciones se necesite estar en línea es de lo peor. No queda más que disfrutar lo poco que tiene: un bonito diseño y un gran control; pero un asco de opciones jugables. Una compra impulsiva de la cual me arrepiento.

    This is not GT as i remember it .. From 1998 i have all 6 previous titles , - and i dont like where the series is going . Wanted Gran Turismo not Driveclub Online . And its not even labeled as Prologue - with this content and this price ... NO TY .

    This game is horrible seriously it's total garbage that will fill up Game stop dumpsters one day. Gran Turismo 4 was the last great game but other driving games took it's crown in the ps3 era. Gamers waited over a decade for a great GT game and gamers will be waiting for infinity unless some miracle happens.

    Need's more tracks and cars but they are coming in dlc. Even though we only have limited tracks currently the selection of tracks is awesome. Same goes for the cars. No campaign, doesn't bother me though as I already went through all that in Gran Turismo 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (never played 6) and really don't want to race 90 bhp Suzuki alto's against terrible ai ever again.    … Expand

No car mods because apparently new people are too stupid to understand how to use them. Thanks to the PS4 store I wasn't able to cancel my preorder so I am done preordering games and done buying Gran Turismo games after 20 years of buying every one.… Expand

    Yes, not a huge amount of cars nor an extensive single player career. On the other hand, the single player missions, challenges and driving such will keep you busy for a long while. Where GT Sport shines is online,p. Hadn’t planned on buying till I played online races in the demo. It’s truly the best sim online experience ever. The penalty and ghosting system can never be perfect, but IYes, not a huge amount of cars nor an extensive single player career. On the other hand, the single player missions, challenges and driving such will keep you busy for a long while. Where GT Sport shines is online,p. Hadn’t planned on buying till I played online races in the demo. It’s truly the best sim online experience ever. The penalty and ghosting system can never be perfect, but I makes the online races immersive, intense and fair. Love it. And whatever the content, it’s still a true Grand Turismo game. The Scapes photo app is outstanding and already piles of people are posting their stuff.
    I’m not a fanboy as I also have Forza 7. Forza has more cars and tracks, but online is sadly a bumper car race. I do expect that to get better when the noobs lose interest in the game, so I will be back.. in the meantime only played GT Sport since it was released.    … Expand

    Graphically it is also something to behold. I have a 4k HDR tv and it's the most beautiful game I have played on it. Hands down.

    I love the history of each manufacturer. And moments in automotive history you can learn about. It's fabulous. But this is at odds with the inability to explore each amazingly and lovingly created car... I can't explain how much I want to open up the bonet or door to look around. An implementation of forzavista style here would be great.

    I am a little confused by all of the different things you earn- credits/diving miles/character level and so on. The game does a poor job of explaining what any of this means and does and why you collect each. In fact I don't think it even does explain it.

    Then it comes to game play. The single player components are quite honestly a bit rubbish. Certainly by comparison to others in the series. This really should be considered a multiplayer game first. The car customization i found confusing - changing the colour should be simple as an example however it meant creating something entirely different which i found quite convoluted. The same goes for upgrading. It's not as it always has been and there are no clear upgrade bits for each component of the car ala others in the series.

    For me though the biggest let down is the lack of single player thought. I'm not a multiplayer person and I prefer a campaign. Without that it really spoils it for me. That and a much smaller roster of cars. With a particular focus on racing rather than road going. Car collecting has gone.

    All in all this could be an amazing game. But it really does fall short in key areas for some players like myself. And for those reasons I have scored it as I have.    … Expand

    As advertised from day one, this game is predominately for online multiplayer. It DOES NOT have single player career mode and thousands of cars which was also stated when the game was announced.

    I don't understand all the crying and moaning about this game as they did say GTS was online multiplayer focused from the start. Obviously some people found that hard to process.     What it does have is a fair system to encourage clean, sensible online racing. No other racing game that I'm aware of does anything similar apart from Iracing which you pay a monthly subscription.

    Paying £40 for GT Sport or pay monthly indefinitely seems a good deal to me. I'm sure they'll add cars, tracks and updates along the way.

    If you like mature, online multiplayer racing on console, fed up playing multiplayer on other racing games and always getting rammed by idiots there's no other game to do it apart from GTS.    … Expand

    GT Sport boasts an excellent driving model and superb car models, but primarily it’s a paramount step towards blurring the line between electronic entertainment and sport, and on a global scale. I just hope Polyphony continues working on the game until it reaches its full potential. [13/2017, p.42]

    Standard online races built on proven-by-the-years core of the Gran Turismo series. However, it suffers from an acute lack of content. In addition, if you play solo you have to avoid Sport. [Issue#280]
