    Awful game, you can't play without an internet connection, and the pay outs for races were bad when the game launched, and Sony updated the game to make them WORSE to push you into microtransactions. I've never felt more insulted by a company when I payed full price for a game. I've played free mobile games that treated me with more respect. Do not buy.

    As a faithful and old player of the GT games since GT2, I canno't accept the greedy and utterly counterproductive move made by Polyphony and Sony with the 1.07 update. Indeed, they have largely reduced the credits earned per race and it becomes ridiculously long and time-consuming, needless to say also ultra boring to earn new credits to buy new cars. Other modes than the solo mode are notAs a faithful and old player of the GT games since GT2, I canno't accept the greedy and utterly counterproductive move made by Polyphony and Sony with the 1.07 update. Indeed, they have largely reduced the credits earned per race and it becomes ridiculously long and time-consuming, needless to say also ultra boring to earn new credits to buy new cars. Other modes than the solo mode are not rewarding at all, and the utmost shame is that a lot of cars are very expensive, some of them costing the equivalent of +30h of farming in terrible conditions. There are +400 cars in the game, and what we want as players is to be able to earn new cars at a regular pace to enjoy them, and not to have to wait 5 years before buying thisbeloved and long-desired 12m Jaguar.

    Polyphony created at the last minute before the release of the game extremely unaffordable MTs in prevision of such moves, and as of now you may spend 120e of real money just to buy ONE car if you cannot farm. This is absolutely unacceptable because we do not want to pay 1000 euros a full game, but not to be deceived by a game maker that already sells its game 80e. The endless maintenance today also proves that the compulsory online servers to play the solo was a bad idea and destroys the gaming experience for which we had very high expectations, considering the prestige of the games, and their past mistakes.

    It seems that Kazunogain and his teams don't learn ! The game is failing on some parts but stays a pretty good game who deserve a grade between 7 and 9, it is too bad to waste such an experience with bad decisions and treacherous MTs.

    If the policy regarding the reduction of credits flips back, I will reconsider my grade and will eventually regrade the game by a 7+.

    We'll be a lot to do that, so please hear us ! It's a massive and collective complaint (just check Reddit, Twitter, GTPlanet).

    Casino racing game. They just nerfed most in-game currency earnings in order to push microtransactions. They did this in patch 1.07 precisely 2 weeks after release which is Sony’s threshold for refunding a game.

    This is a warning. Don’t buy this game! They cut the credit reward to push miroctransaction. Extremely high price for a single car, alleged by the developer as being “real”. You should not pay $60 for a pay-to-play game! Sony should be punished by their greedy move.

    The game is great overall, but it lacks variety in races and the rewards and progression are crazy low and slow. For each track you have just a couple of races that you can finish with the same 3-4 cars. Great game but it fails to deliver.

    Gran turismo 7 is a game that need always an internet connection, If the servers isn't work out you can't play the game and now you would need more time to buy a car after the update.

    This game is pretentious, contrived, and boring. Polyphony had a shot at making the best ever Gran Turismo - lord knows they had the time - and yet they have come out with this. Insufficient cars, insufficient classic tracks, dull linear gameplay, annoying menus, and a focus on 'car culture' and 'history' that no-one asked for. Don't waste your money.

We barely get even half a game from this, and barely anything if your precious Internet connection does so much as blink. The glitches that make liveries disappear make you struggle to do ANYTHING in this game. Prove me wrong, Sony/Polyphony Digital/KazYam, with proper updates, and I would love to look stupid for this review.     Where to begin? I would have given it a zero, but racing is racing. Until greed steps in and then it’s all for one and one for themselves. Polyphony just keeps getting worse. They’ve not changed since gt sport nor has the game play changed. Blah, I believe this is my last time with this franchise.

    This still plays like a ps1 game with poor physics. The game view has the car look too small and far. The characters look like ps1 polygon models. Poor designs poor gameplay. Car is more like it keeps going straight and camera turns itself along racetrack. Even an old racing game Real Racing 3 is better than gt7.

    I've been fan of GT, and of racing games, ever since the first GT came out on Playstation 1. So, I am ranking this game from the perspective of a racing veteran.
    The single player career in GT7 is excellent. Masses to do, masses to unlock. All the career missions, side missions, license tests and general racing will keep you busy for ages. Only negative side is, the career can only be    I've been fan of GT, and of racing games, ever since the first GT came out on Playstation 1.     The single player career in GT7 is excellent. Masses to do, masses to unlock. All the career missions, side missions, license tests and general racing will keep you busy for ages. Only negative side is, the career can only be played online, because the game only saves online. Meaning all career activities are unavailable offline.
    Handling of the cars feels pretty realistic, and there are driving assist for those who find it a bit too realistic.
    Visuals are mixed lot. Some circuits look brill on PS4Pro, others look like they were ported from Playstation 3..
    Framerate stays high at all times.
    Sounds are basic, engine sounds lack depth and tire screeching is constant and annoying. Luckily sound levels can be adjusted.
    Tuning parts selection is diverse, and tuning options, while not Project Cars 2 level, are still varied enough and all the important settings are there.
    Selection of cars is not that big, and many classics are missing. I assume lot of DLC cars will become available later, for a price. Similarly circuits, once you unlock them all, are not that many compared to competing game brands.
    Car painting and vinyls are bit cumbersome compared to Forzas. And you have to buy all special paints (metal paints, flakes etc) separately. And not in sets. No, you have to buy each special tone separately, so if you want to buy all metal paints, you have to unlock and buy them separately, pot by pot. Very awkward and silly.
    One more complain is AI drivers. They drive on tracks, and do not even pretend to compete against each other. Poorest AI in any modern racer for sure.
    To cap; I love the extensive single player career mode. Its the best I have seen in modern traditional racing games (Forza Horizons, while excellent, are more arcade racers, so do not count here). And the handling and tuning is very good too. And that is why I give the game 8/10, despite those faults I numbered. I've long wanted a traditional racer with proper career in single player, and now I got one.    … Expand

    El juego No bebe tener Online obligatorio y se hace patente con la actualización 1.07
    GT 7 va muy bien en la PS4 y se ve muy bien y va muy fluido.
    Los gráficos mejoran bastante. increíble PS4 si que tiene potencia para correrlo tan bien y tan suave

    Utter **** I picked it up at half price and still feel ripped off. A great sim with loads of cars locked behind an egregious paywall. Some cars I want I know I'll never see.

But the most frustrating part is when you want to play a game and you need to update the playstation and restart. After you get and new update for the game, sometimes more than 30GB!!! This makes the game almost unplayable. Oh,Good graphics but the gameplay sucks big time due to the online gameplay. Yes I could make my gr2 car slightly worse to use it on the 800 pp race but then I would be going up against **** cars that are miles behind me. They added a new track with a race where you can actually use gr1 cars holy **** but never mind because theSo many cars are unusable.     They really know how to take the fun out of racing. After playing it for several hours, the campaign is bare bones and mediocre, the licenses are incredibly strict with some being impossible. The driving HUD and options are unintuitive and poorly designed. There are better racing games out there than this one, don’t play it.     It feels like a mobile game: auto-drive, auto-brake, auto-steer, auto everything; requires a constant internet connection, even for singleplayer; infested with all sorts of microtransactions you can imagine, and even with some more on top of it. The game manages to both look dated, and still lag like hell. And those loading times are just ridiculous.

Logged a lot of hours on GT3 A Spec with the official steering wheel. As I moved onto the PS3, I got a proper driving l seat along with the PC Logitech G25 Wheel, gear stick and pedal set. On PS4 this combo stopped working as they try pushing users toGT7 is a game I was really looking forward to and have not been disappointed. I started on the original PlayStation, then onto the PS2. Logged a lot of hours on GT3 A Spec with the official steering wheel. As I moved onto the PS3, I got a proper driving l seat along with the PC Logitech G25 Wheel, gear stick and pedal set. On PS4 this combo stopped working as they try pushing users to newer models. That said with the Drive Hub adapter it emulates newer wheels and works just like it did on PS3.

    I got GT Sport late in the day due to poor reviews. I got like a year later and eBay, with all the updates thought it was great. I got GT 7 on launch after discounts cost me about £52 not £70. I got the PS4 and paid the £10 upgrade so I can play on both consoles.

    GT7 is a great game and a big step up from GT Sport. A much more complete game. As I'm using a wheel I can't really comment on how well it plays with the dual sense. But with a proper wheel, especially a seat it's amazing.

    I response to all the crazy feedback in the "news cycle the past week" and users scores of 0. What a massive over reaction.

    I never spend real money on micro transactions, I'm cheap and it's kinda cheating anyway. I've amassed ~35 cars so far. Think I'm on menu book 18 or so. I'm enjoying "the grind" learning the game etc, building up to the faster more expensive cars.

    So I admit I wasn't affected by the servers being offline for 30 hours. I'd not played for a good few days due to work. But this down time is not on the same league as Cyberpunk being a buggy mess. Or Halo missing half of the normal features.

    On patch 1.07/1.08... maybe they were encouraging those that can't wait to spend real money... Maybe they were trying to balance the game? Maybe I'm not the target audience that was affected by the changes.

    Some people are upset that they paid £70 for a full game and therefore expect access to all the content day 1.
    In my view you get the rare cars for putting the effort in. Who really needs to drive every single car. Looking at my gt7 stats page on the web: Since launch I've logged in 7 days but only had time for 4 proper sessions of just under 2 hours each. I've earned 461,00p credits, driven 439km. I have kids so don't have much time to play / watch them play.

    I recently unlocked split screen multiplayer that you mentioned, but I'm playing through the cafe books. I also have access to online, but I'm too cheap to pay for PSN, so only special free weekends for me. I've nearly finished collector level 9. I own 6% of the cars.

    I'm on level 22 and completed 34% of the campaign. I've never bought a car and have 1,500,000 credits. I only by cars or tuning if I don't meet entry requirements or can't beat a race. It seems like you earn credits more easily in GT7. For me I'll be playing this game on and off for years.

    Some of the graphics continue to surprise me. I played a night to day race the other day, really like how the headlights reflect all over your car interior. When driving I really don't miss the proper ray tracing. The approximated equivalents look pretty damn convincing. I'd much rather have the 60fps, with the cinematic 30fps and ray tracing during menus and replays.

    I know mandatory online could be a problem for some. GT Sport for PS4 had the same thing. Luckily for me I have fast broadband so no online issues. If you were online I guess you can play music rally. I understand the requirement to avoid hacking, fake race times etc which would be a bigger concern.

    The benefit of online to me is that all my progress is in the cloud and I can switch between consoles and just carry on. I think PSN has a similar feature (Cloud Save), but I don't subscribe to that (no online racing for me)
    But the unique thing here is I can switch between PS4 and PS5 and back to PS4 no problem. Handy as my driving seat and rig is generally hooked up to my old PS4, with the PS5 downstairs for the kids.    … Expand

    A fun and great title ruined by sheer company greed. A software update radically cuts credits for in-game successes and coerces players to purchase credits for real money. In a full-price game. Had I only suspected this before purchasing. Deeply disappointed. Especially annoyed by the producers response to the uproar.

Few road cars from the last 5 years are present and the Gr.3 category is outdated. Menu design is not intuitive. Unacceptable AI for a 2022 racing game and a poor career mode called GT Café with no actual racing as you chase the rabbit and encounter rubber-banding AI. Online is a complete disaster, Sport Mode hasn't been improved from GT Sport and lobbies are backwards and mostly deserted by now. The grind is the worst of all GT games with low race payouts to encourage microtransaction purchases. FOMO everywhere. Split screen is broken. Not possible to sell cars unlike every other main GT game. Many QOL features from GT Sport missing from GT7. The soundtrack is poor and reusing mostly Daiki Kasho tracks. To top it all off, PD are out of touch with what the community wants. Either something changes with the management of PD or GT8 will not be any better.… Expand

    No me gusta jugar en primera persona, pero el modo en 3ra persona se ve repugnante, la camara se mueve horrible y el carro ni pareciera que se moviera, que desperdicio de dinero, lo unico que se ve increible es el modo foto y esa porqueria no se para que la agregan a los juegos, es perder el tiempo.

    Another masterpiece by Playstation studios, this time Polyphony Digital, they have raised the bar when it comes to customization and single player career mode in racing games not to mention the amazing multiplayer brought from GT Sport and my gawd the graphics are gorgeous.     Best racing game for me ever, i never played better real racing simulator. MY personal opinion is that this is perhaps the best racing game ever. For anyone who starts comparing to forza horizon 5, realize that open world and arcade driving is not everything.

    Underneath it all, yes, the game itself is good. The driving physics are awesome!!!
    I'm just concerned that Sony is going to throw away their legacy when these titles inevitably go offline, GT7 will likely, at some stage, be unplayable forever. PlayStation, this is the WRONG DIRECTION for your company and brand, it is shameful!

    I feel like the industry has just absolutely abandoned what I love about games in favor of catering to whales for an extra buck. Fallout 76, (my last time posting to Metacritic) was a complete joke and unfortunately, GT7 is right alongside it in its current state.     microtransactions on a free to play game are fine
    microtransactions on a budget game are bad
    microtransactions on a 70$ game are awful
    microtransactions that aren't even that macro make the whole thing a joke

    there's something good behind all this... but it's just not worth playing

It's a gorgeous racing game with a surprisingly addictive gameplay loop thanks to the new Café and Menu Books systems. While some modes are certainly not as strong as others, Gran Turismo 7 checks almost all the boxes of what a driving simulator should be.
