    I am going to keep this review short.i have chosen to give this a score of 1 due to a couple of reasons. Firstly, this game has gone in the direction of online only. Just recently we had an incident where the game was offline for over 24 hours, leaving players unable to play any single player cafe races, missions, license tasks, drive their hard earned cars, earn credits, tune their carsI am going to keep this review short.i have chosen to give this a score of 1 due to a couple of reasons. Firstly, this game has gone in the direction of online only. Just recently we had an incident where the game was offline for over 24 hours, leaving players unable to play any single player cafe races, missions, license tasks, drive their hard earned cars, earn credits, tune their cars and play online multiplayer. I could list more, such as car maintenance, and purchasing them using credits among others. Whilst multiplayer features going offline are understandable, singeplayer features being unavailable is a a mahore worry and for a game costing as much as it does, is unacceptable. Secondly, the credits system has been changed from previous entries in this series, to payout less per race. Combined with cars costing at time 8 to 10x what they would compared with previous titles makes it a grindy mess which is evidently due to the presence of microtransactions. Finally, the singplayer content is lacking when compared to GT2, 3, 4, 5, 6 at launch.… Expand

    Worse game ever. You have to pay to progress after update 1.07. Before, certain races could give you 70,000 cr ...now the same race gives you 5,000 cr. Nothing Can bring it back to where it was before.

Not to mention the massive prices for the ingame upgrades (you have to race for hours just to be able to afford all the upgrades for ONE car!).

    Cafe is the worst idea ever, it's a bunch of nonsense conversations for old men who consider themselves "cultured" or whatever, it's certainly not for people who just want to enjoy the freedom of racing in fast cars. Because of Cafe you can not progress in the order you'd like. Tracks have to be unlocked over time. Custom races are possible, but earn you a ridiculously low amount of money. Also, I've had crashes on GT7, I've had freezes and framedrops, it's playable but it's not a first party 70 euro/60 dollar (ex tax) experience.

    But enough complaints: I'll give a solution too: get GT Sport. It's cheaper, it works better, there's still freedom there, the racing UI is the same, the tracks are the same but a few are missing (which aren't fun anymore since the updates anyway) and you'll hardly miss the few cars which aren't in it, since you won't be able to afford those for probably months anyway. And even if you do, you won't find any real use for them in GT7. GT Sport is in retrospect a slimmed down and improved version of GT7.    … Expand

    A single player campaign you can finish in a week. A 30 hour server outage that renders the game you paid full price for, unplayable. And after that outage, they cut the in game credits you earn by more than half. Effectively making the best cars pay to play. Microtransactions are all they care about. This is a disgrace and an unfunny joke.

    Online connection is a bad, really bad things especially with unplayable single player when servers blow up.... Today is may second day when I can only watch on my beatiful PlayStation box of phisically copy of Gran Turismo 7... the most expensive box ... It's really sad.

    I love a lot about this game but I wish the broken enconomy was optional. That's the true cost of microtransactions, even if we don't engage with them. We can't opt out of a broken economy, that only exists to turn players into payers.

    Hope the clear message from the consumer tells polyphony and sony that this isn't the way to develop for a full price game.     Predatory microtransactions are predatory. And for them to patch-nerf the in-game payouts two weeks after release, and after most publications have finished reviews, feels an awful lot like a bait-and-switch tactic. Steer clear and please don't financially reward this kind of unscrupulous business practice!

    Other than beautiful graphics, the predatory nature of forcing micro transactions to get the best cars is a huge turn off. The tracks to make money were nerfed making it even harder/impossible to grind for the best cars. This is a $60 game and that makes it even more ridiculous.

    El juego No bebe tener Online obligatorio y se hace patente con la actualización 1.07
    GT 7 va muy bien en la PS4 y se ve muy bien y va muy fluido.
    Los gráficos mejoran bastante. increíble PS4 si que tiene potencia para correrlo tan bien y tan suave

    I was 13 when the the 1st game came out in 1997 on PS1 and I salute everyone who worked on these titles for making milestones in racing game and motorsport history. The Impact you left is very special to millions of people over several generations. That alone is pure art.

    BUT this is to much now. I quite! The buyer does not OWN the game anymore!!! This "buy everything as a service" and    I was 13 when the the 1st game came out in 1997 on PS1 and I salute everyone who worked on these titles for making milestones in racing game and motorsport history. The Impact you left is very special to millions of people over several generations. That alone is pure art.

    BUT this is to much now. I quite! The buyer does not OWN the game anymore!!! This "buy everything as a service" and "you will own nothing and be happy"-mentality we are drifting into as a world wide society is going crazy! Mad crazy! And people are slowly but way to late starting to not take it anymore.

    1. I pay a full game price for offline singleplayer experience and still get forced to be online 24/7 for 90%+ of the game contents. I know tracking and data collecting means $$$ but come on! Thats shady and criminal!

    2. Earning money to buy the cars is made artificially harder due to up to -50% lower in-game price money. In-game purchases is what we are bullied into. Micro transactions my ass! This is god damn gran turismo not some scum ebay offering.

    3. We cant sell/trade/share cars as it used to be to get money or just as a present for friends and family. How more unsocial can it get?

    All these marketing tricks and false shady communication to reduce "cheating". Boy does your PR spin doctor maybe suffer from alzheimer? Me and millions of other players and fans of the series are done with this until this is changed.

    P.S.: Oh and how dare you to not put back Monaco / Côte d'Azur track after almost 10 years since it was gone?    … Expand

In addition to the price of the game, the emphasis is of collecting cars, yet the in race rewards are pitiful. This has been made worse by the latest update cutting the rewards to 'not worth entering' races.

    Coupled to that is the absolute joke of the FIXED roulette reward system that 9 tomes out of ten will give you the very basest coin reward.

    There are clearly predatory microtransactions in the psn store and the in game earnings have been cut to push you to spending real world money to progress in the game. Purchasing and tuning a car in GT7 is horrendously expensive. I have been doing a race over and over to earn 60,000 credits a time because I refuse to spend any more money on this game, 60,000 goes nowhere. You may need 350,000 to properly tune a car. This 60,000 has now been cut to 10,000. I'm not stupid and I refuse to pay real world money for credits in an online only game.

    I never thought I would see polyphony digital align itself with the behaviour and business models of EA and Bethesda.    … Expand

    After a solid start, while almost finishing the whole campaign (menu books), I realized that rolling starts from the back of the pack without any chance of qualifying aren't real racing like. The payouts for the races were ok offline, but after spending about 400k on a r32 skyline to be competitive in sport mode (online), and getting 18k as payout for first place I feel robbed.

    They nerfed other races payouts in single player mode with the idea of pushing the player towards microtransactions... The option is always given, right under the payout screen.
    Since yesterdays update I'm not able to access the game anymore, because you are forced to have internet and a connection to the servers all the time. Which is absolutely nuts and reminds me of the NEED FOR SPEED from 2015, and EA learned from that, apparently. PD is 7 years late like the internet explorer and forces it's players to be constantly connected to the playstation network and their servers. Very customer friendly.
    If you're thinking of buying the game. Get the PCSX2 emulator and a copy of gran turismo 4, and you'll get a finished game which you're surely be happy with. And the crash mechanics are the same btw. For both titles. Or you can get your hands on Forza and not be forced to spend extra cash after buying the initial game for 80€...

    Maybe they will fix it, but I'm really disappointed for a legacy title, especially from a Sony "first hand" developer. Shame on you PolyPHONY Digital. Shame on the gaming industry and their constant push for micro transactions.    … Expand

    Worse, Polyphopny is doing all they can, to force players buying credits on PS Store!
    The new one after update 1.07 is reducing the race wining prize!!
    I am dropping the game, and considering very seriously, buying Xbox X instead PS5!!

    I used to like GT in PSX, a lot, but not anymore, GT7 is basically a GT Sport, It doesn't feel like it brings anything new, in fact it feels like an old GT. Great job on marketing selling it, but quite disappointed after buying and played. For me the most annoying thing is that Very often the game is updating so I can't even play in solo mode as it needs internet all the time.

    I payed this game 70€ and I cannot to play because the maintenance during since 24 hours.
    The economic model is so poor. One hour in game, I win 50 000 credits only. But there's around 430 cars and cost very, very, veeery expensive ( I want to buy a car but it's 1 200 000... and this not the more expensive)

Indeed, they have largely reduced the credits earned per race and it becomes ridiculously long and time-consuming, needless to say also ultra boring to earn new credits to buy new cars. Other modes than the solo mode are notAs a faithful and old player of the GT games since GT2, I canno't accept the greedy and utterly counterproductive move made by Polyphony and Sony with the 1.07 update. Indeed, they have largely reduced the credits earned per race and it becomes ridiculously long and time-consuming, needless to say also ultra boring to earn new credits to buy new cars. Other modes than the solo mode are not rewarding at all, and the utmost shame is that a lot of cars are very expensive, some of them costing the equivalent of +30h of farming in terrible conditions. There are +400 cars in the game, and what we want as players is to be able to earn new cars at a regular pace to enjoy them, and not to have to wait 5 years before buying thisbeloved and long-desired 12m Jaguar.

    Polyphony created at the last minute before the release of the game extremely unaffordable MTs in prevision of such moves, and as of now you may spend 120e of real money just to buy ONE car if you cannot farm. This is absolutely unacceptable because we do not want to pay 1000 euros a full game, but not to be deceived by a game maker that already sells its game 80e. The endless maintenance today also proves that the compulsory online servers to play the solo was a bad idea and destroys the gaming experience for which we had very high expectations, considering the prestige of the games, and their past mistakes.

    It seems that Kazunogain and his teams don't learn ! The game is failing on some parts but stays a pretty good game who deserve a grade between 7 and 9, it is too bad to waste such an experience with bad decisions and treacherous MTs.

    If the policy regarding the reduction of credits flips back, I will reconsider my grade and will eventually regrade the game by a 7+.

    We'll be a lot to do that, so please hear us ! It's a massive and collective complaint (just check Reddit, Twitter, GTPlanet).

    Casino racing game. They just nerfed most in-game currency earnings in order to push microtransactions. They did this in patch 1.07 precisely 2 weeks after release which is Sony’s threshold for refunding a game.

After 9 Years from the last predecessor (no, I don't consider "Sport" a real GT game) we can finally play a GT with less cars and a weak difficulty curve, where you can't make money by selling cars you don't want but can pay real money for fake in-game credits.     Awful game, you can't play without an internet connection, and the pay outs for races were bad when the game launched, and Sony updated the game to make them WORSE to push you into microtransactions. I've never felt more insulted by a company when I payed full price for a game. I've played free mobile games that treated me with more respect. Do not buy.

    So making a single player game require to be permanently online is often a really bad idea. Especially if you don't communicate when a 2 hour server maintenance is sitting at 20 hours offline so far.     Is it fun? When it works, sure. And it looks amazing on PS5, runs like a dream. While I spent 20+ hours playing on a friend's PS5 before deciding to get it on my PS4. Unfortunately for me, bugs had been introduced into the licences regarding dirt tires. I always felt the dirt (and drift) aspects of the game shouldn't be forced on the general populace of Gran Turismo. It should be entirely optional, as should things like an unstoppable 10 minute or longer video clip when first loading the game or a forced music rally where the HUD and lack of engine noise make manual shifting frustrating. But these are the odd design decisions that can immediately hamper the experience in a game that does the GT aspect rather well. Except for its AI.
    Any time progression involves repeating quests to go from last to first repeatedly cannot really be considered a real simulator to begin with, and add funky changed physics at lower speeds alongside physics that feels like it's different track to track, and you start to see that it's more a progressional arcade game with some simulation than anything else.
    Good for the dopamine hits and challenging to be sure, only the later game is now focused on microtransactions; pay to collect. And it's not subtle, every opportunity to spendearned credits has an opportunity to purchase at the cash sstore. Highly desirable cars have that FOMO feeling as they're time limited and may also have limited stock across the globe. And then there's the nail in the coffin; server maintenance. In particular the one occurring as I write. Originally supposed to be 2 hours. 2 hours in, revised to 3 hours. Included update 1.07. The servers are still down 21 hours on. With no updates from PD or Sony.
    For a largely single player game this is an insane, absurd issue caused by the forced online connectivity required for any progression and any gaming mode other than the poorly received Music Rally and Arcade modes, both modes probably not really being what a Gran Turismo 7 player is after and definitely not what I'd want to play.
    Suddenly the game feels like it is designed with only cash microtransactions in mind, and the payout revamp apparently occurring in 1.07 seems that it may be to reduce people's opportunity to earn in-game currency; for that, we'll have to see. If the game even goes live again, or when it goes live again. Perhaps these issues will be addressed today or soon, but this recent experience reminded me of why I should simply stick to PC for racing sims. And it makes me hesitant to ever purchase another Playstation or GT game ever again.    … Expand

Microtransactions, no offline play, poor rewards for racing vs expensive vehicles and a rigged roulette system geared to generating those micro transaction dollars. Shame on you PD. This is the last GT for me unless this game changes when it comes back on line, I'm notVery very poor showing from PD/Sony. THEY screwed up their own game with their own update 1.07 and now they have shutdown the game for an "extended period" during primetime and have the nerve to ask for our patience!     As a fan of racing games like Forza, Nightclub, Dirt, and so on. This is probably the "ok" game experience despite the microtransaction since the patch release that makes it difficult to earn cars. However, the gameplay and the graphics are outstanding since grand Turismo sport.

Especially when u add this stuff after release when people let their guards down and in alot of cases (At least Digital) cant get a refund. SHAME on Sony or the studio for doing this BS they will notDont get me wrong game is fun and quite good gameplay wise.     Requires Internet connection for most basic things and game is plagued with microtransactions. With the lastest update they even nerfed race payouts to so bad even obtaining a decent car takes hours. Sony and PD shows us how greedy they are.

    Best racing game for me ever, i never played better real racing simulator. MY personal opinion is that this is perhaps the best racing game ever. For anyone who starts comparing to forza horizon 5, realize that open world and arcade driving is not everything.

    Very beautiful game for that 10 Points BUT for this price is the singleplayer part a shame.
    After 10 h 49 min and 59 sec and 1.882 km racing the story part is finished. And now? I dont need the multiplayer!

    In GTS im not finished with the singleplayer but i have there 2.879 km driven.

    Me alegro de que vuelva las piezas para mejorar los coches. A veces contra volantear es impredecible cuando pones chuches a los coches, es un poco raro. No me convence que para desbloquear circuitos, concesionarios y otras cosas tengas que pasarte lo que te dice en el café. Por el resto todo bien todo correcto y yo que me alegro.

    Look like a higher resolution ps3 game, riddled with greedy micro transactions..One of the dullest sim racers I've ever played due to vanilla AI and extremely dull artistry.     Another masterpiece by Playstation studios, this time Polyphony Digital, they have raised the bar when it comes to customization and single player career mode in racing games not to mention the amazing multiplayer brought from GT Sport and my gawd the graphics are gorgeous.     Gran Turismo 7 strikes the perfect balance between accessibility and realism in a way that caters to casual players and veterans. It's a gorgeous racing game with a surprisingly addictive gameplay loop thanks to the new Café and Menu Books systems. While some modes are certainly not as strong as others, Gran Turismo 7 checks almost all the boxes of what a driving simulator should be.
