Apr 15, 2023This revival perfectly captures the spirit of the arcade games. It looks great (built on the RE Engine) and each stage is loaded with secrets. There is also a co-op mode and four difficulty levels. But beware, the game is filled with old-school challenges. It's punishingly hard. Fans of the series will love every minute of it. I would rate this with a 7.4 out of 10.

Aug 19, 2021Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection stands out as perhaps one of the most accessible games in the series yet. The various difficulty levels, accompanying adjustments, and the unlimited lives for all difficulty levels give series newcomers a sense of hope that they can see the game to its conclusion. At the same time, the title remains tough and uncompromising in enemy count and gameplay, giving longtime fans some comfort that the series hasn't lost its appeal. It is a solid game, and the only players who should stay away are those who hate facing an elevated level of difficulty from the get-go.

Jul 12, 2021Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection looks great, sounds great, but unfortunately, doesn't play great. Fans of the genre and/or franchise will likely find a lot to enjoy here, but those new to the spooky world of Ghosts 'n Goblins may end up tapping out before they see the credits.

PLAYJul 5, 2021A decent update that has a love/hate approach to difficulty. The art style can undermine the gameplay, and on harder settings it feels unfair rather than unforgiving. [Issue#3, p.138]
