Still a classic and it's what Ghostbusters 3 could have been. Still worth it after all these years. Can't wait for the multiplayer to be added as I never tried that on the original release.

Loved the original back in 2009 and now loving the remasterd version in 2019. The best game of a film ever made. It's basically a love letter to Ghostbusters fans and you can tell it was made with such passion, care and attention. It even has the original Ghostbusters cast doing the voice work and they also helped write the script for it. If you love Ghostbusters you will love this game to bits. Even if you have no idea what Ghostbusters is this is still a great game with a lot of fun to be had. In regards to how different the remaster is to the original. I played the original on the Xbox 360. That was 720p. I'm playing the remaster on the PS4 PRO and as far as i can tell it is 4K (Don't hold me to that though) but it does look much more crisp and clean compared to the original. It also runs much better, much smoother. I paid just £19.99 for a brand new physical copy of this and i'm really happy with my purchase. Hopefully we get a full on proper next gen sequel to this in the near future as this game proves that Ghostbusters games can be done right and be great fun and there is more than enough room for a good sequel. Intsead of pumping out rubbish versions like the quick cash grab 2016 versions. I also recommended watching the Ghostbusters film before playing this as the game visists and features places, people and ghosts from in the film. It will get you even more hyped up to play it. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The real Ghostbusters 3 Movie! I love this game since it came out in 2009. The voice acting and story are amazing. It's literally what would have happened if they would have filmed a 3rd movie. The music is there plus the great sound effects. It's the real Ghostbusters experience. Strap on your proton pack and don't cross the streams!! Expand

Love this game and the remaster is just as great as the original! But I'm so let down because where is the multiplayer?!?!? I loved the multiplayer and had so much and was looking forward to that as well. Do they plan on adding this ever? Add me on PSN if they do decide to add it. Mikeyboy2NY02 is my PSN ID

I want to preface my review by saying that I missed out on this game back in 2009 (money was tight as a kid lol), but I'm very happy I got to experience it, all these years later.

I want to preface my review by saying that I missed out on this game back in 2009 (money was tight as a kid lol), but I'm very happy I got to experience it, all these years later.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is a rare gem. Where countless movie tie-in games have failed miserably, Ghostbusters not only perfectly captures the essence of the source material, but acts as a legitiment third sequel to the original two films. The story was written by the same minds that crafted the OG scripts, and it shows. Somehow, the entire cast even agreed to reprise their roles, which automatically injects chemistry between all the characters. If I could use one word to describe this game, it would be "authentic".

As for the gameplay, there's actually a lot more depth than a game like this has any business with. The game is linear, but not a hallway, so don't expect a particularly long experience. Think 8-10 hours. Throughout the game, the Firestation acts as the main hub for the GB team, and there is a ton of banter between characters, as well as nods to the franchise. You investigate hauntings and earn money while the overarching narrative unfolds. The action admittedly plays like a run-of-the-mill third-person shooter, just with a Ghostbusters' skin. The devs could've just skeeted by with a barebones experience, only arming players with the standard "laser lasso" proton pack, but they instead opted to offer a wide variety of weapons and upgrades. These primarily consist of various projectiles and explosives, as well as the slime guns from GB2. This makes for an incredibly flashy and varied experience, as you go up against hordes of the undead. The action here also goes far beyond anything seen in the original films, and part of me is grateful we got a Ghostbusters sequel in the form of a game. Dan Ackroyd knew what the audience wanted, so he used modern technology to bypass the effects of time, transporting us back to the 1990s.

The only real gripes I have with GB:TVG are the lack of visual improvements over the game's original release, and the fact that you play as an unnamed fifth Ghostbuster. I'm all for new characters, but this isn't the type of game that should have a silent protagonist. There isn't even a character creator! Oh, and your AI party members can be very dumb at times, forcing you to play "medic" often. The good news is, your companions will quite literally die on the hill to revive you. Now, these are still minor gripes in an otherwise thoroughly enjoyable (although a little dated) experience.

Dan Ackoyd always wanted to make another sequel to Ghostbusters 2, and he got his wish. In many ways, this is better than any movie we could've gotten. The amount of content and lore GB:TVG contains is astounding, and it feels like the epic finale to the classic Ghostbusters era.

É um excelente jogo baseado em filme, o melhor. O remaster poderia ter algumas coisas a mais, mas ainda assim é um ótimo jogo e vale a pena comprá-lo, principalmente em uma boa promoção.

This game is amazing for the most part! If you’re a fan of the movies, I highly recommend you get it! What was great about Ghostbusters: The Videogame still shines through in this remaster — it’s a loving tribute and fitting ‘sequel’ to one of the greatest comedies of all time, the dialogue and performances are top-notch, and fighting the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is still tremendously enjoyable. With that said, the nostalgia that masked gameplay warts in 2009 isn’t quite as potent today. However, it’s still a romp that any fan of the franchise will greatly appreciate, and given the sorry state of game archiving these days, I’m grateful we get the opportunity to play it again.

A rather weak remaster on the technical side, but to which it is impossible not to recognize a certain intrinsic cultural value, closely linked to his respectful love for the cinematographic saga.
