    Written by and starring the original cast of Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is simply the best video game based on a movie property ever created. With fun gameplay and bizarre events, this is the closest you’ll ever get to strapping on a real proton pack.

    For me and for my generation, the subject matter that Ghostbusters: The Video Game so respectfully represents is a flight back to the carefree childhood. Here’s the catch, though. It’s not a one-way nostalgia ticket to the bygone world but a fun game that perfectly holds up today with its entertaining gameplay, sparkling and characteristic visuals and amusing narrative. Can I ask for more from the game? Wait, of course I can! Next, give me a Ghostbusters game where I can play as Jillian Holtzmann and the world would be complete!

    It’s not as if the original game was all that stunning or anything, but there are plenty of moments here where Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered just looks blurry and kind of ugly. That’s not enough to make me not recommend it, though. In fact, I’m almost certainly going to go out and buy myself a copy of the game on the Switch, just so I can have it with me at home and on the go. Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is likely only going to appeal to people who have some nostalgia for the movies — but if you have that nostalgia, it’s practically a must-play.

    Ghostbusters: The Video Game is the ultimate fan-game—that is to say, a game for the fans. It captures everything that made the original film great, and puts you in the starring role; really making you feel like a Ghostbuster. With everything that this game does right, it’s a wonder how more Ghostbusters games weren’t made, excluding the terrible Sanctum of Slime, and Ghostbusters (2016) game.

    Might be worth picking up for the nostalgia. But I wouldn't pick it up expecting an amazing Ghostbusters experience. It's not bad, it's just annoying a lot. It's frequently irritating. And a lot of that is just the dated mechanics.

    If you are a Ghostbusters fan who never bought the original, this is the definitive version. it's a 10. BUY IT NOW! Which isn't saying much because the runners up are Ghostbusters 2 NES Pal version which was like a less fun Zombies ate my Neighbors, a Doom2 WAD, and a Pokemon go knockoff. Are you a non-fan who wants a 3rd person shooter with a fun lasso gimmick? meh 5/10.

    Did you buy it before? It's literally the exact same game with almost no noticeable increase in resolution. Also no Multiplayer (yet?). Seriously, co-op and multi should have been the bare minimum addition. If they add that and maybe a new map on it I'll jack up my score by 2 points. It's only been 10 years. A little early for a remaster. Not much differences in tech to take advantage of.

    I still love it though. Gonna 100% all the trophies just like last time. If you are a fan and you bought it once, only a superfan would buy it again.     The characters are very funny and original GhostBusters are really in the center of the game, which is very good.
