I realy like this game, I dont mind if its PVE or PVP but damn...RDR2 on my ps4 slim is smooth as butter, yet Genshin Impact barely holds up with 30 FPS in few best situations, most of the time it drops to 15,20 FPS. Would like to see stable 30 FPS soon.

The game has its ups and its way downs.

    Pros:

-The world is large and interesting enough to explore.
-The battles are fun and enemies can get quite hard if not careful.
-Game rewards the use of multiple characters.
-Story is interesting specially for anyone not familiar whit Honkai.
    -Characters have fleshed out profiles.
-Its overall a enjoyable game to spend 3-4 hours playing per day.

    Cons:

-The Gacha is horrible, its current rates are at 0,6 whit our 76th pull having a 20% rate to give the impression of good rates, making it actually a soft pity, whit the hard pity being the 90th pull that guarantees a 5*
-More then 50% of the current 5* characters are limited, the game keeps expanding and each update usually has 2 new 5* banners that last around 20+ days and then just poof, issue is that 5* characters who appeared in the 1st banners of the game (Venti and Klee) wont appear for most likely a whole year, which is stupid.
-Banners suck, currently the special banner gives the players a 50% chance of the 5* they get be the banner character, meaning that there is a chance to get one of the always available 5* characters, which the game then makes sure your next 5* is the banner one, issue is that you can still get 5* Weapons in the same banner, meaning that you can get 2 5* pulls and them being a 5* weapon and a perma 5* character.
    - 4* characters come at the rate of 10 pulls, meaning that usually 85% of the pulls till a 5* will be 3* weapons whit no actual proper use, as 4* and 5* weapons outclass them easely.
-Prices are a literal scam compared to how many pulls you need to do in the game, the current most expensive pack (over 100€) literally doesn't give enough Primogems to even reach 90 pulls for a guaranteed 5*, meaning that someone can quite literally waste 100€ in this game and not get a single 5* character and just a bunch of 3* weapons and a few 4* characters.
-Resin, the material used to get dungeon rewards, is caped at 160 and takes more then 15h to fully restore, making the player use 50 Primogems to replenish it by a bit, which actually makes the price rise up if the player wishes to do so again.
-Game locks characters and weapons behind either 1-2 months of saving (meaning you have to skip banners) and gives the players the are minimum in Events, creating the illusion of reward, wen whiteout events players cant even do 1 pull per day, meaning that some players cant even get 30 wishes before the banner is gone, wen the game requires us to do between 70-90 pulls 99% of the time.
-Getting the 4* characters needed will eventually become impossible because they will keep adding more and more of them, making the special banners the only reasonable way of getting the 4* characters players want, which leads to players needing to skip banners to save up for even 4* characters, its disgusting.

Overall, Genshin is a Mobile Game ported to PS4, but whit a Gacha system 10x worse then normal, the game itself is GREAT, but its monetization and economy are DISGUSTING.

How could it be fixed ?

-Lower Primogem Pack pricse by 50%.
-Lower 5* soft-pity to 40 and hard-pity to 50, making so players get 3-4 4* characters and 1 5* character every 50 wishes or get rid of the randomness and make it so we get some type of ticket to redeem the character of our choosing (4* ticket and 5* ticket).
-Make banner characters permanent, the banners give them a 50% chance , so they should just remove the 50% chance and put the character together whit all others in the normal banners so they can still be gotten for constellations.
-Switch the Character/Weapon Gacha for a non random shop and monetize cosmetics and outfits intead.

Разновидностей персонажей много, но большинство трудно получить или вообще можно получить только за реальные деньги. Initially I gave this game an 8 out of 10 because I thought it was overall a fun f2p open world rpg, with a cast of colorful characters and overall a simple but enjoyable combat, but the more I played the more I realized the issue with the game itself, and how I couldn't really enjoy it as much.

Now I could start with the fact that the game is greedy, which it is, but i want to be honest here: the extra characters aren't "really" required to play the game, they're only needed to play "optimally" and that's mostly it: in today's era where people like ultra optimized runs, having specific combo of characters is a wet dream coming true, but this also comes with the problem of how expensive the game becomes in this regard.

Besides characters, everything else is also tied to rolls - for the exception of experience, but more to that later - so the game actively expects you to roll and roll and roll in order to obtain
    1) Better characters
    2) Better weapons
    3) More constellation stars, which are given when you roll a double.
    4) The currency which is gotten from doubles, in which you can use to to obtain extra items.

It easily becomes a vicious cycle here: yes you are able to roll without paying but it takes a lot of time to grind the required primogems to obtain 10 rolls - and yes you WANT to do 10 rolls as it gives a guaranteed 5 star roll, which may also be a weapon too by the way - and while you can play freely and without actually paying money this can become a problem when it comes to weapons and other stats: I never paid a single dime but I struggle to find better weapons due to my lack of good rolls, and the battle pass (yes, there's even a battle pass now) really doesn't incentivize you enough, and even then you can probably get one weapon anyway. It's just a lot of money to play decently, and it can be frustrating when you try to play without and suddenly you get a block because "Oh crap I don't have any good weapons now". And while there's crafting, their weapons are subpar in comparison to rolls and battle pass.

But this is nothing, I haven't really tackled on one of the major issues of the game: the resin system. The resin system is essentially your amount of available activities you can do as it dries up the more you do them. This is nothing new to be honest, other mmorpgs do similar ways with fatigue systems and the like, heck Granblue Fantasy does the same (but better). The problem here is tied to the exp and money you are needed in order to play the game and how this can very well be a problem in the future.

Let me be straightforward: the game is not easy to level up after a certain threshold, as it doesn't require you to kill or grind enemies but to grind books, the most expensive and rare giving you 20k each plus a certain amount of mora (the money) you must spend. This can be extremely problematic later on because the price gets higher and higher, the exp required gets to millions and the money expenses get more and more and the only way to farm money after you're done with everything is to farm ley lines, which are tied to resin: this means the resin can actively hold you back if you don't grind well.
But unfortunately, there's more: after a certain levels you get (20 levels until 40, then every 10 levels) you need to do what's called an ascension, which is basically what I'd call "level break" as you need to grind some materials in-game and of course spend some mora, which is actually not a lot. The problem? You need to do certain bosses and said bosses might drop one out of, say, 2 or 3 of the items required for your ascension, but due to the resin system, this might drain your storage and force you to try again and waste more resin! You have 160 resin (up from 120) but a boss can take 40 resin! That's 4 attempts before you need to stop. Or if you pay money to recharge (or primogems, not that you want to).

It's truly a shame though because I think the game is actually nice: the story is nice enough, I like the quality behind it, there's a lot of voice acting and the characters are well designed and enjoyable, there are some really nice twists here and there that make the story very enjoyable (but nothing too mindblowing), but due to how the game plays and demands your full money it can be discouraging: I usually try to play around events because I know I can get some exp and mora boosts, so I can level up some characters. I have about 10 characters but I cannot level all of them because of the poor resin system and the lack of books (which cannot be bought with money but rolls allow you to obtain currency that you can spend on them).

Until they try to tone down some of the requirements for the leveling and upgrade system (I forgot you can also upgrade talents, which also costs mats and mora. NICE!), it's better to take it easy and maybe wait for when they nerf a little. Or just skip it entirely and move on.

This game is a 10/10. One of the best games ever. HOWEVER, the gacha mechanic is extremely expensive and the devs must be crazy greedy to think that in game characters should be worth $100s of dollars in wishes. I could waste our precious time discussing how this game is one of many that inspired Zelda (2017), or how it could be a great RPG singleplayer and how much better it would be without the terrible resin and gacha systems, so in order not to waste time let's discuss what this game is, not what it could be.

Mihoyo tried to bring an experience that mechanically and in his exploration of the world follow the trend of Zelda with a vast and inhospitable map where part of the fun is how to interact with the environment making use of his elemental and physical abilities, what make the map itself and organically exploring a central part of the fun and progression of the game.

The gameplay and Surprisingly fun and the exchange of characters to perform elemental interactions makes the dynamic and interesting combat the soundtrack has a estiloproprio being very hot to hear the characters and the narrative make use of various cliches of anime and Japanese games but despite of that they still try to bring something of their own personality having some interesting missions.

As for the bad part it is very obvious although you play this game alone the whole structure of its evolution is a mmorpg being necessary a lot of grind to get ahead however as your game is little affected by other players and it is not possible to do everything the content in multiplayer we ended up with the bad part of an mmorpg without the good part that is the interaction, on Paywall I don't believe it exists for a simple reason no matter how much money you spend it will only bring you more characters and weapons others resources are only obtained through the resin system that makes it impossible to farm consistently.

In short this game is only worth it because it is free however all his problems are based on the fact that he is free, I believe it is only worth playing the first 30 hours that are really fun and bring something different however if you don't like Grind or MMORPG stay away from this game you will only get frustrated for those who like the genre it certainly has problems not being the best alternative on the market however it is completely possible to have fun without putting your money Mihoyo despite making mistakes has been helpful to improve the game and follow a typical MMO update schedule with a long time between major updates but if that doesn't bother you go ahead.

Genshinimpact is a good first attempt by a studio that is still unexpected in making games for consoles and PCs but that seems to try to put some affection in their work if they manage to abandon the addictions of the mobily platform has a good potential to bring very interesting games in the future.

People are mainly giving low scores due to the lack of comprehension that it’s a Gacha game some they’re bound to get shafted, which as a F2P I’ve had no difficulty playing the game as they give out good characters to play with. Overall thought I’d give the game a solid 8/9

Touted for being one of the most advanced gacha games on the market to date. The game is heavily focused on exploring and grinding items, gear and materials to level up characters. Majority of these characters can be obtained through the system known as "wishing" where most desired/popular characters are locked behind a very low success rate of less than 1%.

The story/plot revolves around a brother/sister who can cross worlds and dimensions at their whim. Depending on who you choose, the other will be trapped by an unknown god and your chosen character will be stranded on a planet, stripped of all their powers. After a timelapse cutscene you are introduced to Paimon, the most annoying character since Navi...before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now you're selling it! [slams table]

Playing on PS4 has been difficult as constant connection errors, severe lag, and frame-rate drops are an issue. While the game is fairly nice looking...the game, for the most part, is barren, very uninspired and clings to all the anime tropes to convince "otakus", "Weeaboos" and those with addictive personality disorders to spend mind-numbing amounts of money (primarily aimed at wealthy (in stupidity) players who like to brag about being "whales") on a gambling system with little to no actual return.

The characters are nothing but generic anime tropes. "witch girl" "brooding and powerful dark knight" "500 year old child character" etc...most characters are easily in their teens as they all are shorter than every NPC in the game (with a very few amount of actual looking adults). Which leads me to believe it's a game aimed to sell a slot machine to young and impressionable youth.

The MC (who is easily in their teens in appearance), for being a god that travels worlds and is hundreds of years old themselves act and sound maddingly inexperienced in everything. They easily get duped by NPC's and played like a fool. They are a god! I expect them to at least try to act like they know what they are doing. voice acting, for the most part, is serviceable.

Often times dialogue does not match subtitles and at the very lease is hilarious at times. Treasure chests are placed in the most obscure places. often times on a hill where contents will roll down hills as they grow legs and laugh at you as pathetically chase it in vain. World level is pathetic attempt to conceal powercreep that will always keep your characters underpowered forcing you to level (or purchase) upgrades. It literally serves no other purpose. The only way to outpace this powercreep is to focus on one character pushing their power beyond the "world level" difficulty....temporarily. You WILL eventually fall behind the curve, maybe not in the content now but eventually. The items you get from higher world levels are basically repackaged lower level stuff with higher stats. Essentially keeping you on the hamster wheel of perpetuity.

Now I'm not saying the gacha is terrible in itself. The gacha part could be better and more inclusive of people who have a sane level of reasonable value. I think if they weren't trying to sell their used Toyota Corolla's like they are new Lamborghinis then there wouldn't be so many upset people. Doing the math you'd have to spend hundreds of dollars, something around $365 for a guaranteed 5* which may not even be the character you want. Then let's throw in the fact that you have to roll 6 of the same character just to max a character and you'd have to be on some drugs to think one character is worth a month's worth of rent for the average person.

fanboys will argue, "well you don't have to spend money." which just comes off as snobby elitism. Let's be real, these are infinitely reproducible characters that hold no intrinsic value. This argument falls in the "if you don't like it, leave" and the "if she didn't dress so sexy, she wouldn't have been raped," level of stupidity. why do videogame companies get to ignore the basic fundamentals of supply and demand of economics because of some dumb youtubers who promote the gambling aspect up the ass? You could scale costs to be more inclusive. first bundle of 10000 gems per month. $10, second $20, third $30. etc...at least give lower $ players a **** chance. They could also just put the characters for a price, 1 Diluc = $15, why is that so wrong but gambling $365 is so right? That way everyone gets to choose the way they get the character. why not let us control world level to be more inclusive of people in many skill levels? Before you start mouthing off, remember, it's a single player game and everything someone does in their world has zero impact on you. Fanboys will fanboy and when it comes to gacha games the Stockholm syndrome is strong.

I’m gonna list the good and bad points of this game. I’ve played it for a month and a half and i’m AR 38

    Good:
-Best soundtrack for a free game that i’ve ever heard
-The world looks nice (when it loads in)
-Element interactions are interesting and fun
-Paimon is a mascot that doesn’t want to make me bash my head against a wall for once (is still a bit annoying)
-English voice acting is good for most characters
    -Generous rewards at the start
-The story is constantly getting added to and the map will be soon as well (Right now only Act 1 and the prologue is accessible and I believe they are adding a whole new nation called Inazuma soon
-Despite what most people say, the resin given out each day is enough as long as you aren’t addicted to the game
    -I like the cooking system
    -The quests are pretty fun

    Bad
-It’s REALLY poorly optimised for PS4 (I’m not playing it on PS4 pro so i can’t vouch for what it’s like for them) it lags if you fight like 5 or more enemies at once
-The gacha rates make normal gacha games look generous with their rates, I think the probability of getting a 5* character from a single wish is 0.01% or something ridiculous like that, so you HAVE to use wishes in bulk in order to get something good
-Buying primogems is a scam, it’s about £20 ($25) to buy 10 wishes. Although using 10 wishes guarantees a 4* or higher, that also includes weapons so basically you pay £20 for a CHANCE to get a character -The free characters you get are utter rubbish compared to the other characters (The only good ones are Fischl and Xiangling, but they were only free for a limited time, so if you didn’t get them then, they are gone forever unless you get them in a wish)
-The game is made in China, so it censors anything that the CCP doesn’t like e.g Tibet, Hong Kong and even MiHoYo (the company’s name) for some reason
-Loading times from one area to another are too long, the loading screen is like a minute and then you still need to wait another minute or 2 for the world to load in properly
-A lot of characters in this game are lolibait from normal lolis like Fischl,Xiangling and Barbara to literal children like Qiqi,Klee,Diona and Sucrose
-Enemies scale in level to a ridiculous extent once you do ascension quests
-A lot of grinding is required once you get to around AR 25, since you need certain materials to ‘ascend’ your characters and weapons to higher levels so they are more powerful
-Sometimes the game dialogue doesn’t match up with the subtitles
-Quite a lot of glitches, not the fun kind either
    -Normal domains are boring
-The game’s story is so generic, with so many made up fantasy words that you would need a whole encyclopaedia to translate one sentence

Overall, I’m giving it a 7/10, even though there are more cons than pros, it’s a free game and most of the cons can be avoided provided you don’t spend a single penny on this game. So here’s my advice:
-Exploit the shops and rewards in limited events as much as you can, they usually give out good rewards
    -Don’t spend money
    -Play on PC
    -Skip the dialogue
-Don’t waste your special resin, you only get one per adventure rank, and a few more
-Don’t neglect to pick up anything when you are walking around even if it feels like something insignificant like pinecones or mint or sweet flowers

Additionally, the game is free-to-play, but the world and amount of things you can do are quite large. Despite this, there are some things that shine in a negative light for me. Among these things, is the game's constant need for an Internet connection, regardless of playing with other players or not. Players with an unstable or inconsistent connection won't find much enjoyment in playing with already unresponsive controls. Despite having a large open-world adventure with many missions to play, game-play seems to get stale after awhile. Missions seem less and less varying with each new mission you get. The stalest missions seem to come from the main storyline, as most of the time you spend is just on the text you read and preparing for each chapter's "climax". A trifling I have with the main story, is your companion, Paimon. A wholly large amount of time is spent with your companion, but the time is not well spent. I have found my adventures with Paimon to be mildly infuriating as the experience feels arguably worse than that felt with Navi in The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time. This brings me to my next point, the story feels drawn out. The experience is absolutely packed with hand-holding and long-winded conversations between characters. What can be said in a single sentence is often prolonged to ten or more, and you can see yourself mashing the A button to get through it all, right from the beginning. Lastly, the game as a whole, feels extremely grindy. When trying to get materials, or leveling up, you have to work quite a bit for a lackluster reward. And you find yourself spending most of your time doing just that, which gets old fairly quick. If the workload was decreased or rewards increased, I can see the experience not being as mundane as it is now. With everything being said, Genshin Impact is free-to-play, has interesting moments, and has a lot of room for development. Expand

First, in the character demos they have for encouraging people to play the gacha game, the characters are ascended to constellation 3. What this means in terms of the game is that a 5 star character being demoed is at a power level no one will ever achieve without spending close to 400 dollars or more, as you need to be able to get the same character multiple times. It takes 90 rolls to get a 50/50 chance for a banner 5 star character, and it's 50.5 rolls of the system per 100 dollars. You get 160 primogems per day if you buy their crazy welkin moon and do the dailies, and banners are around for 3 weeks. So at the end of the day you get only 71 rolls baseline if you pay them 100 dollars and do play the game every day.

Congratulations, you are playing a game that has DLC characters that should be 10 dollars costing you anywhere from 150 to 200 dollars, and you don't even get to have them at the level they are demoing in the practice room.

Even if the game is free to play and you can beat every challenge in it without spending anything, that doesn't change the fact that the game is not giving you a fair transaction if you do pay. How would you feel if Smash Brothers Brawl broke up all the characters and made you spend 100s of dollars just to get a shot at one on a roulette wheel, and you didn't get their full move set until after you won them at least 3 times? That is this game in a nut shell.

FYI Constellations are what you get when you get a duplicate of a character.

As for the talents this is a huge issue as for the games biggest flaw, its energy system, called Resin at first capacity was 120 recent update increased to 160 , you would think great but 1 resin regenerates every 8 min so to fill out 160 resin is 18 hours . which lies in the major problem each dungeon costs 20 resin to receive the rewards worst case scenario 5 min per run x6 or now x8 doesn't even equal an hour then u have to wait 18 hours for resin to fill again . Recent update they added EXP books as a PAY ONLY feature with in game premium currency that MUST be bought with real money, as furthur into the resin issue the official patch notes that i read released as i was downloading the update did not mention a new blacksmith recipe that at first glance looks identical to an existing recipe But one of the ingredients is 10 resin so i guarantee lots of people will make the mistake followed by complaints. so with XP and talents bein an issue at adventure rank 43 now my characters are way under geared to even continue the story w/o spending real money behind even bigger pay wall . Don't let the gatcha mechanics draw you away from it, yes it's not a perfect system, but if you want to stay free to play like me, you can actually do that. It's such a shame everything that this games accomplishes is ignored by the imperfections every game has.

However, once you get the past all the current content there is nothing to do to level up your Adventure Rank once you are around Rank 30. It becomes more of daily commissions, achievement hunting, chest hunting, resource management and domain/boss grinding just to level up your Adventure Rank, Characters and their Weapons. Characters:
It is really expensive to level up characters throughout the game. All the free stuff you get from playing the game goes down the drain to level up. It is so bad to where it’s recommended that 2-3 characters are to be focused and even then there’s a struggle to get them fully maxed out. Meanwhile you gain more characters they end up sitting either at a low level unable to be used except just for a quick ability here and there.

    Resin:
This system is so time gated and completely horrible to where a huge majority of the players have already spoken out about this issue and the only thing that has been done so far will be in a future update where the resin cap is increased from 120 to 160. This does not fix the issue what so ever and just makes players wait even longer for their resin to fully replenish. This system makes it really hard for players to enjoy the game and for YouTubers and Twitch streamers to do their job.

    Events and rewards:
Upon the release of Genshin Impact there were codes for free primogems that you enter in to get them. With all the codes released that’s a total of 300 Primogems as of now which PS4 missed out on due to the fact they can not claim any of the codes. There has also been a few events already. They have had some login events here, an co op event, an box event and currently an invitation event. From the login events the rewards were okay. Normally with login events the more days you unlock the rewards are supposed to be better. Day 7 gave you 200 primogems which is only enough to roll one time. The Elemental Crucible co op event was not enjoyable at all. You team up with 3 other players and fight waves of enemies while collecting cubes and depositing them. This was an event where the players just keep going over and over until they are completely done and never touch the event again. The event was poorly optimized and had issues with players glitching out to where they show up running in place for the other players and were also unable to pickup or deposit cubes. The box event was a daily event where you collect rewards from a Liyue merchant somewhere in the world. Recently an giveaway event started within the Official Genshin Server on Discord. With the rewards being an IPhone 12 Pro Max 256 GB to 1 lucky winner, 5000 winners for Blessings of the Welkin moon and 50 primogems to 50,000 people. The rewards again regarding their in game rewards are lack luster again. The Welkin moon pass being $5 and 50 primogems being less than you earn from your daily commissions in game. This event is for their discord server being #1 and there are people out there that can’t even participate because their discord server is full. Gacha:
In order to unlock characters that you do not obtain by unlocking in game the others are locked behind the games Gacha system. Primogems are used to roll for characters at the price of 160 Primogems for 1 roll and 1,600 Primogems for 10 rolls. Their in game pity system for 4-star characters is great. On the other hand the pity system for their 5-star characters is horrible. The wanderlust banner in game is a complete trap when it comes to rolling in that specific banner. If you are unlucky to get a 5-star in 89 rolls will get one on your 90th roll. In the Wanderlust banner this can either be a 5-star weapon you already have or don’t have or a character you already have or don’t have. It costs $200 roughly to hit the pity for a 5-star. The only banner worth rolling for 5-stars is in the rate up banners where again if you are unlucky and hit the pity it’s a 50% chance for the rate up character and based off the other 5-stars in the banner it’s a 12.5% chance for those. The rates are the worst in gacha history with a 0.6% for a 5-star and in the Wanderlust being a 0.3% for a character. The Developers for Genshin Impact should really take a page out of Azur Lane’s book.

Resin is the stamina of this game. To grind dungeons and fight bosses you need resin to receive the rewards. Otherwise, you can complete the dungeons/fight bosses but no reward is given to you. That reward is contains character levelling materials and weapon levelling materials to progress through the game. Now this is where the resin system becomes restricting. After AR30 you are basically finished with the main story of this game as of the current version of the game. The things you do to level up your characters and weapons are very limited because of the resin system. You can only do daily commissions to level up which does not cost resin, and thats around 10-15 minutes of gameplay. Dungeons (also around 10 minutes of gameplay) costs at least 20 resins and your resin storage is capped at 120. Moreover it takes 8 MINUTES to regenerate each resin which is ridiculous when 10 minutes is all it takes to spend 20 resins.

Gacha rates are atrociously low compared to many other gacha games. 0.6% rate to get a 5 star weapon or character is ridiculously low.

Controller support would be a fine addition since we won’t have to obstruct the screen with our fat hands. This will allows us to appreciate the astonishing visuals of this game even more. Moreover, it will be more comfortable for us to play with a controller for long hours. IOS 13 & 14 already added controller support for PS4 and Xbox controllers. Since, this game features multiplayer crossplay with PC and PS4 which both have native controller support built in for the game, it won’t be an unfair advantage for mobile players with controllers.

IF YOU ARE F2P, just accept the fact that you will not get very far in this game and it will be incredibly frustrating/discouraging.

IF YOU ARE intending to play this game with friends, it is worth mentioning that the co-op system is absolutely riddled with glitches and feels unfinished. You will not have a pleasant experience playing with friends. Treat this game as a singleplayer game. A lot of people have a misconception that this game is a MMORPG, however it is NOT one and will NEVER become one.

My biggest complaint is that the company behind Genshin Impact (miHoYo) completely disregards their playerbase and feedback to the point where it is quite clear that they just DO NOT care. You should know that whatever suggestions/feedback you send to miHoYo or their staff will go unheard for the sake of continuing to milk their playerbase's wallet. The surveys in-game are purely Public Relations purposes and have no meaningful contribution to improving the game. There is no communication between the devs, PR team and the playerbase. The staff and devs do not listen to player feedback and makes it quite clear that they will not be fixing any of the issues any time soon. miHoYo uses predatory monetization tactics. They even go as far as scripting fake "leaks" to keep their playerbase on the edge with false hope. The only things that have been confirmed is information that was already in the closed beta testing. Everything afterwards is just empty promises with the intention of stalling their playerbase. miHoYo carefully manipulates their phrasing and wording to deceive players.

    - Primogems - Primogems are a form of in-game currency. At the start of the game, the world is filled with chests that reward the player with primogems as you open them. However, you come to realize that these chests DO NOT respawn. Your influx of primogems quickly runs DRY. The only way to obtain primogems is through purchase with real life money and/or doing your daily commissions (which only give you 60 primogems per day).

    - Gacha Rates - The gacha rates are abysmal. Definitely the worst gacha system by far. Your chances of getting a 5* star character is incredibly low (0.6% chance). You will have to spend about $200+ USD to get one. If this was not bad enough, there is little-to-no ways to obtain primogems by simply playing the game after Adventure Rank 35. (You need 160 primogems for a single pull)

    - Events - Do not even get me started on these events. These "events" are tedious with little rewards. These events are recycled from the closed beta testing (the developers have not even polish them since) with a glitchy co-op system. The rewards are not meaningful enough to get excited about.

    - Also, if you are planning to submit artwork to one of their events/contests, I suggest that you read the User Contributions part of their Terms of Service on the Genshin Impact website. Otherwise, you might find yourself at the short-end of the stick.

    - Stamina System AKA Resin System - This becomes a huge problem later on in the game. If you are looking for a long-term game that you can consistently play, then this is not the game for you. The game becomes nearly unplayable as most content become blocked by the Stamina System later on. This game is heavily geared towards casual mobile players who log in once a day to finish their daily tasks. As this game is being advertised as a multi-platform game, this is extremely disappointing. This game at its core is more reminiscent of a mobile game with a terrible and unrewarding gacha system.

These are just a few of the many issues with Genshin Impact and miHoYo. I advise anyone who wants to try any game by miHoYo to play with caution.

As for monetization, well, it all depends on how you view mobile-style gacha games. I play them, as F2P, and some I enjoy. However, I think Genshin Impact will have the same problem getting my money as most--the value for the dollar is hard for me to consider good (though TBH I haven't yet felt compelled to look at the prices all that much). For example, in Fate/Grand Order, I recently pulled from the gacha (using free currency) to get a 5*, and if I had bought it, it would have cost me over $450. I don't expect a lot different here, but that's OK with me if the free option provides enough decent characters, even if not the best. Things like the resin system are also ubiquitous in gacha games, so nothing I find particularly different.

BTW, one thing I might add is that I've tried it on mobile (a phone), and I can't say that I like the controls--using a virtual joystick is something that I'm not really good at, and I think you would have trouble pulling off combos as well. Perhaps if you attach a controller it would be better, but it's somewhat amusing that a game with such mobile-roots probably plays the worst there.

Expensive in-game currency, HORRIBLE rates, around 100 gems per day AT MOST for f2p (you need 160 to pull one item, and it'll likely be a 3 star weapon).

Resin completely and unnecessarily gates the progression of players in a COMPLETELY SINGLE
    PLAYER GAME

Developer slapped the community in the face with the resin fix (120 cap increased to 160)
It's the equivalent of you being thirsty and them giving you a bigger cup that's just as empty as the smaller one.

The game has extreme potential but the company is greedy and refusing to change the predatory energy/stamina system called resin. Everything is hard-gated by it and it turns the game into a chore.
With a few changes the game has extreme potential though.

Amazing RPG. It's just absolutely beautiful. The missions are fun, there are many things to explore, many characters to change and to level up... It's open exploration at its best. I'm really enjoying it.

Imagine playing Skyrim, but only 20 minutes per day. Imagine pulling a weapon or character with no chance of upgrading it in less than a month. Thats the ARPG that meant to overthrow these greedy AAA gaming companies, but was able to overthrow only itself and all the players.

Resin gates content so much that you have 20min of daily game play, guess what you need 240$ of daily refreshes each week to play 40min more, THIS ISNT EVEN P2W ITS PAY TO PLAY DAILY

    The developer is too greedy
they only want your money but they didn't care less about your opinion & critic even though it can give good benefit for the game & make the player happy. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME!!

Can't even call it a gacha game when you can roll for at most twice a week due to it's in game currency income. Needs more resin too, nothing to do after 20 minutes of gameplay once you're few hours deep into the game.

Everything about this game is good except one thing, Resin problem! Everything you do needs a resin, and the amounts of items drop per resin needed are measly!!! And when you are farming artifacts, you are locked with RNG, main stats need RNG to get what you want and even the sub stats need an RNG too to get perfect stats. There have been a lot of complaints about it, be it CN players orEverything about this game is good except one thing, Resin problem! And when you are farming artifacts, you are locked with RNG, main stats need RNG to get what you want and even the sub stats need an RNG too to get perfect stats. There have been a lot of complaints about it, be it CN players or global players... They said that they have listened to our voice, but guess what? Instead of increasing the rate of resin regen, we get increased resin cap instead!? We asked for more water but given bigger cup?? How does that make sense? If we are not getting an increase in regen rate then bigger cap does not change anything. Previously we need to log in twice a day, burn resin in 10 minutes for trash items and log out, now they give us a QoL that is you only need to log in once a day, burn your resin in 10 mins and don't bother play the game again until the next day at the same day time. This is the problem of endgame players with slow content updates from developers, until they truly listened to players' voice, this review stands at 0 rating! Expand

Genshin Impact is a well above average RPG to which we will dedicate many hours, but that gets lost in a monetization system typical of the gacha genre that sometimes demands too much from us. However, the free to play experience is wonderful offering us a beautiful and colorful world that can boast an absurdly good character design and a story capable of keeping us hooked.

Genshin Impact is part of a wave of titles from China that is slowly eroding the bad stereotype that Chinese devs are devoid of creativity and skill. While the initial comparisons are there, Genshin Impact does go beyond to distinguish itself…now if only the gacha rates and the free primogem are better I would have no hesitation recommending the title.

Genshin Impact might not be the most original game in a lot of respects, but it certainly has a wealth of things to offer players should they still be willing to give it a chance. Overall, I greatly enjoyed my time with it, and I plan to continue playing once future updates are implemented. The fact that it can be played for free is also quite impressive given just how much time you can invest in the game, especially with people perhaps staying at home more and being on a budget. All in all, Genshin Impact is a surprisingly solid action RPG adventure!
