Genshin Impact is a remarkable game in many respects, boasting vibrant visuals, a rich, sprawling world, deep systems, and finely-tuned action. Unfortunately, the game’s free-to-play gacha business model often undermines its own sense of adventure and excitement. Genshin Impact is a good -- potentially great -- game locked in a loot box it can’t quite escape.

Overall, Genshin Impact is a solid game hampered a bit by the restrictions its free-to-play model imposes. The overall production values are high, and the core gameplay is solid. In particular, the elemental interaction system is a ton of fun and gives the game a distinct personality. But while there's a lot to do, having several chunks of Genshin Impact gated off until you've reached a higher rank is an obnoxious restriction for an open-world game to have--and once you finally do see what lies in those unexplored areas, it's often a bit underwhelming. Still, it's a solid start, and I'll certainly be interested in seeing how Genshin Impact continues to evolve in future updates.

Genshin Impact has been nicknamed "Breath of the Waifu" due to its obvious influences and cute characters. But surprisingly, the game is much more than that.

Genshin Impact is well worth a download. Based on our time with the release, this could easily be one of the PS4's best free-to-play titles. Yes, there are a lot of characters and items locked behind the game's gatcha system, but what's here for free is undeniably impressive. [Hands-On]

This game is 100% PvE, the characters you win for free are strong enough to overcome the obstacles that the game offers, so how is it pay to win?

Yes, it is a gacha game, like many other mobile games. It is a mobile game that won a ps4 version. If you don't like gacha games, stay away from Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact is the best mobile game I have ever played.

I'm giving this game a zero because this is in my view what it deserves. I keep hearing "If you don't like gacha games then you won't likeI'm giving this game a zero because this is in my view what it deserves. I keep hearing "If you don't like gacha games then you won't like this game" like this is a concept we should all accept? This "game" promotes child gambling. How the f*** is this legal and why have we normalized it? We used to unlock items and characters in games by putting in hard work and earning them. Now we are apparently buying these items and characters that should be in the game to earn and ignoring all the horrific consequences that comes with it.

You pouring money into this game or any game like it means you are supporting child/adult gambling and the gambling addiction that comes with it. I guarantee if you stop giving this game company and all the other gacha game companies money, you'll force them to make way better games and if you have the empathy and compassion you'll save people from throwing their lives down the toilet. To make a long story short this is WRONG. When people are paying 2000 dollars for one character it's time to pull the plug on this. If you want good video games now and in the future you have to learn to say NO. and adults to gam
