Game of Thrones: Episode Two - The Lost Lords

The second episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones leaves you lingering for more. With some interesting characters and quite a clever plot, you really can't wait for the third episode of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones The Lost Lords Episode Two of Six is another excellent addition to this choice driven game based on the excellent HBO TV series.

With The Lost Lords Telltale takes the Game of Thrones series one step closer to a perfect score. The separate storylines, but also the overarching plot manage to realize their huge potential much more. In addition, the feeling that your choices really mean something and the rapid changes of perspective also contribute to the suspense. And when plot and suspense are put together so well, it’s not that hard to forgive the developer for the lack of technical progression.

After having an ending from the first episode worthy of the works of George R.R. Martin, here comes the second chapter of Game of Thrones form Telltale Games titled The Lost Lords. The Forrester family must defend their land at no matter what cost and, it seems that there's a light of hope in their battle against the Whitehills, but it won't be easy.

Based on the story so far, Game of Thrones is very much worthy of your time but has plenty to prove in the space of a handful more episodes to come.

A bit of an improvement over the first Game of Thrones episode. Although the character transitions are a bit confusing and making decisions doesn’t seem as impactful as it should, Episode Two is by far more political and more interactive, giving players a chance to both think critically and have some QTE fun.

Hopefully the story can use its established foundation and these moments of emotional investment to drive the story forward as House Forrester attempts to survive the challenges circling in around them.

If not for Mira Forrester's portion of the story and the arrival of a surprising new character in Ironrath, this would be a pretty dull affair. As it stands, it's still a rather dull affair, though spending a couple of hours in Westeros will never be a bad way to spend your time.

While the inaugural episode wasn't bad, the follow-up improves upon it in almost all areas. Still, we can't help but shake the feeling that the series is treading water right now, and while we have a clearer idea of the direction in which things are moving, this has definitely been a somewhat slow burn thus far.

The Lost Lords carries on the overarching plotline of the series by sowing the seeds of doubt and intrigue for the future without having a truly striking moment of its own. Once seen as part of a whole, this episode will probably come across better. For now though, it remains a rather flashy piece of filler.

This episode is about as close to being filler as it gets for Telltale – sure, a couple of the plot threads are enjoyable, and one of the new characters is quite interesting – but these moments are few compared to the abundance of boring references and pointless tasks to be done.
