Although the game may seem hard or almost impossible at first but majority can be dealt with by having good control reflexes; but even without it, the game can be overcome with sufficient knowledge and proper strategy to counter the bosses's patterns because - come on, there is no way you are still oblivious to the boss's fighting style after retrying several times. This game really makes literal the phrase 'learning from your mistakes'; either that or just rage quit :) but then you'll miss out on one of the best games ever created.

Majority of the comments about this game were circled around its godlike difficulty level and the lack of storyline. Unbeknownst to many, the story had actually been spliced up and revealed gradually throughout the entire game and even within the demeanor/conversations between the main character and bosses. For players who were perceptive enough to navigate the hidden twists and turn of words to deduce the story without referring to the internet would receive a sense of achievement greater than just killing bosses which in my opinion would be the real achievement of the game.

Furi is everything i like. Technical beat'em all mixed with shmup manic shooter focused on boss battles. The design is very nice, the soundtrack is awesome and the gameplay is just freakingly perfect. Yes it's hardcore and not for everyone, but it's damn good. A must have.

Have you ever thought that you have to actually archieve anything to get a trophy? its no birthday present and obviously you shouldnt get a trophy if you suck at gaming. if everyone gets the trophy noone does ;) so learn to play and git gud Expand

Furi is so hard that is good because the first fight you have is a boss and, yes you will die a lot, the bosses are well made with an artistic style , the story is intriguing and the soundtrack is superb.

Furi is quirky. It isn't for everyone.

Comparing it to Souls, God of War, Transistor or Bastion is just incorrect and shows lack of understanding for the medium. Is a game best compared with Shadow of the Colossus or Titan Souls, with really tough bosses and some amount of depth in combat. Sometimes feels like bullet hell, others like a rhythm game, and sure it has a lot of WOW moments,

Sometimes feels like bullet hell, others like a rhythm game, and sure it has a lot of WOW moments, given away by the gorgeous aesthetics or the relief of turning one more page on the bosses book. But one thing i know: For what it aspires, it is the best this game could ever be.

Some people say its to hard but i only died a few times its easy to play once you figure it out. I loved the artstyle and how different each boss fight and level felt. I was hooked all the way through and I even felt sad to kill some of the characters. At the end when you arrive to the "free world" you feel like a monster as you watch the world become corrupted under your feet and look back on the guardians you killed. It was an amazing game. So amazing that im playing through it again on furier. Expand

You have to time attacks and dodge or block enemy projectiles.

A few things to note, the story actually is pretty cool, it is simple and its mindless at times but the voice acting is spot on and the clues and hints start to make sense as you play through it.

One thing in Furi i found confusing was saving, when you try to quit it says you will lose progress, but don't worry it saves after every boss fight, you will see the rabbit head glowing in the bottom right hand corner.

Overall this game is worth it for sure you should give it a try if your looking for a rewarding fun challenge.

Old-school gameplay. If you like Treasure games Furi is for you. Gameplay well designed and looks obvious that it was implemented very carefully.
Furthermore, the visual design is awesome and the performance is very smooth on PS4 despite use Unity engine.

While Furi's difficulty may end up being frustrating to some players, its fast paced action, high level of difficulty, interesting story, entertaining boss fights and astonishing visuals make it a indie GOTY contender for 2016, and I'm sure it will become a cult classic of indie games.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Quite a thing, a game that pushes to the limit, everything is dialed to 11... even you must push to your limit and match it's skill.

What a novel concept a game that hides the fact that you are The Boss, Every character you face is challenging you to fight better, given upgrades, bonuses, power-ups that would normally be given to the player, are given to the Challengers.

Can you Focus? Do you notice the imperceptible details of your opponents?
Do you have Patience? Do you wait for the right moments?
Can you Evolve? Do you rise to new challenges?
Are you Effective? Do you use everything at your disposal to it's limit?
Can you Endure? Do you have what it takes to reach the pinnacle of your existence?

    But is it worth it?

It has a story, but you must decide for yourself what it means in the context of who you are. You must question yourself, as the player, if this is worth what is asked of you. You are merely being strung along, being given a reason to fight, getting worked up, being primed never knowing if what your being told is real.

You beat it, you pushed yourself to the limit of your skill. But what was the real battle that was fought... how did this fight change you? How do you know for sure? Who were you really fighting? What was it all about?

This game does not hold your hand, you must decide for yourself," What you Fight for."

It just gave you the format you needed to take every step, physical, mental, and emotional, to realize the Big Picture in your own context.

This game will change you, but only if you are willing to take the challenge.

I can't say a bad thing about this game, it has everything I could want. Phenomenal soundtrack, great story with themes from Greek mythology, and quotes/moments that gave me enough chills to go back through and play this game again and again. This game will go on to be my indie GOTY, Not since transistor have i been so amused with an indie title.
I will get the cons out of the way because they are easily identifiable. 1) the game looks dated, actually on ps3 the game would have looked dated. That being said that is only from a polygon count/ graphical point of view as the art direction is outstanding and brings to mind games

It's will not be everyone's cup of tea as it is a hard nut to crack.
The Pros as mentioned art, the soundtrack is great, the narrative is fun and the almighty near flawless gameplay. I want to personally speak to the gameplay designer. While not totally original a few pages from Dmc/ bayonetta/ mgs revengance and older games like silent bomber etc. The gameplay is mesmerising and rewarding beyond belief albeit brutal.

Good God Damn, does this game KICK YOUR ASS. It doesn't just kick YOUR ass, it kicks ALL ass. I read a *bunch* of salt-laden complaints from gamers on the PS forums when Sony announced the free PS+ game lineup for July '16. This game alone makes it a stellar month.

Do you like boss battles? Do you like guns? Do you like swordplay? Do you like futurism? Do you like bright, vivid, colors splashed on diverse canvases, creating different arena types on each stage? Do you like lasers, energy balls, telekinetic abilities, psychotic women, and the ability to "blink" out of the way of oncoming death? ...and do you then like giving the bastard who tried to murder you a blade to the back of his head?

If you said "yes" to at least half of the above questions, you will LOVE this game.

Furi is an extremely fun, VERY challenging thrill-ride of a game that may be a little heavy on exposition at times, and the level transitions are artificially inflated by these long, drawn-out walking "scenes" (which, in all fairness, the game uses for exposition, character building, and storytelling, though it's a different, semi-strange way of doing so that I've never seen before), but the action is top-notch. TGB did a HELL of a job with this game, and I give them all the credit in the world for taking a brand new IP and making it noteworthy right out of the gate. They've managed to create something where every new level is as diverse as it is familiar, with beautifully rendered, wildly varying backdrops and enemies who each have their own distinct personalities and mechanics which are incredibly unpredictable, surprising, and laugh-inducing the first time one plays through. This is addicting stuff, right here.

Even if you're not a fan of action-/skill-oriented, boss-battles-only type of games, I highly recommend you folks give this a download. It's FREE on PS+ this month, so at the very least, it's something to keep in your queue for a rainy day. For everyone else? This is a monstrously good time, and a thrill-ride unlike any other I've experienced on PS4 (including the Dark Souls franchises, which I loved) with a difficulty curve that (when played on max difficulty) rivals that of the Dark Souls and Bloodbornes of the world. There's nothing more thrilling then having one TINY little blip of health left and killing a boss who'd owned you a few times in a row.

    Furi gets a 9-out-of-10!
