    I dont like to give a rating on games that I haven´t finish but i just can´t see myself returning to this at any point. It´s not a bad game but it´s not as good as it could have been.

    If I were writing this review 2 - 3 years ago I would have given this game a 9, but unfortunately For Honor has somewhat been thrown to the wolfs so to speak. The story was pretty decent, but most everyone plays this game for the multiplayer, however over the years this game has slowly lost most of its casual player base and has been drowning in high reputation (level) players that knowIf I were writing this review 2 - 3 years ago I would have given this game a 9, but unfortunately For Honor has somewhat been thrown to the wolfs so to speak. The story was pretty decent, but most everyone plays this game for the multiplayer, however over the years this game has slowly lost most of its casual player base and has been drowning in high reputation (level) players that know the in’s and out’s of the combat. not all players mind you are that bad but most of said players are unnecessarily toxic and sweaty and sap out all of the enjoyment out of most every match. The combat is still very fun but it’s difficult to appreciate when the game is so unbalanced and unbearable to play. If you were to pick up This game I recommend playing with friends, even the most infuriating parts of this game are still somewhat bearable with people suffering with you.… Expand

    The above reasons make me believe this game is overhyped. I ended up spending minimal time on it. Once I went around everything the game has to offer, I moved on by lack of interest.     Im in love with this game as it its just so fun. the execution system is amazing and all. On the other hand the story is useless unacuracte and outdated. Also the matchmaking system is genuinely dumb as when i didnt have a rep i was put against again rep 40s. The rank system also stupid like why percentages what is the point. But genuinely i have with the game aside from the toxcicty part

    Good idea for a game but it got tedious and tiring facing broken dlc characters and getting told to eat **** and die for no reason. The toxic community ruins this game.

    The story is disappointing but it isn't important.
    The Matchmaking is ok, the combat system is well done but hard to get used to, the design is cool, the features of the game are too slow.

    Current meta of for honor is unbalanced, tons of microtransction. 1 game will only get you a total of less than 100 steel(for honor currency) which make this game more grinding. it took at least 150 match to unlock new heroes not including unlocking gears and upgrading it. Toxic community.

For Honor is the latest and newest IP from Ubisoft and I have to say they almost had a great game here. I’m getting to far ahead of myself I’m B-rod and I’m reviewing For Honor!!

    The game has a story mode that felt so tacked on that you almost could see the board members screaming, “WE NEED A STORY MODE. YOU SAW WHAT HAPPENED WHEN BATTLEFRONT DIDN’T HAVE ONE”. This to me is a prime example of a game that should be multiplayer only, but while I say that the story mode had some fun parts. The set pieces and some of the boss fights were fun as **** The characters you play as… well two of them seem like they could’ve had an interesting story. You start with the Knight campaign where you are a knight who has been recruited into the Black Stone Legion. Which sounds like my Swedish metal band. You basically help the villain Apollyon start a war. A game with just this character could actually be interesting, but we have two more campaigns so eh **** it. Then we have the Viking campaign which did fell like the eh **** it campaign. I had no clue why you were doing anything, and quite honestly they seemed like they were just there. The game gave zero ****s about the Vikings they are sort of the worst faction to play as. Last you get the Samurai campaign where you play a disgraced samurai and you are hunting down the Black Stone Legion to put an end to them. This last campaign showed me that they really had two stories to tell, but had to cut them short to have the Vikings shoved in there. The story is a short 6-hour campaign that serves as a great tutorial to the actual game.

    The actual game is the multiplayer where it is a battle for dominance between three factions. Or honestly two because no one but me and like 6 people picked the Viking faction so were are just getting our asses kicked (the first week at least). Regardless you can battle other online foes or bots which are badasses compared to what you fight in story, but still stupid at times. I will say that if you don’t have the combat down to a T then you’ll be in trouble fast and only end up feeling super noobish. The combat is the best part of the game. It is the strategic blocking, counter attack system that is hard to describe except look at Game of Thrones on how they fight and you’ll get an idea. It really is something to marvel at, and I’d love to see it in a 40-hour RPG. In saying that it takes time to get used to, and online you can either get into these badass fights, or some dude spamming one button over and over cause it is nearly unblockable. You can customize the **** out of your warriors and gear if you really care about that **** It can feel a bit free to playish because they want you to earn it by paying the iron price or with actual money can you buy fake money for better gear. (Boo indeed)

    ​Overall if you get the chance definitely rent this game to see if it is your cup of tea. It is something new and different from what we are used to and I appreciate that. Know this the game is made for online if you are a story kind of guy or have **** internet this game is not worth your time. I give this a 3/5 for the gameplay and just being a new IP I’m more lenient on it for that. Until next time brothers in arms go hack some limbs off.    … Expand

Non è dunque il gioco su cui puntare se siete giocatori occasionali. La campagna? Scordatevela. Purtroppo non presenta nulla di speciale cosa del tutto ingiustificabile vista l'esperienza del casa che vanta grandi gemme la saga di assansins creed.     Real solid game. The campaign can be done in co-op which is a big play, but you will probably be playing this for the multiplayer.

    I like the way the game is designed where 1 V 1 allow you to have more time to think and act. If you got surrounded by other player, you are unlikely to survive due to the game mechanic.

    I'll start with the    I love For Honor. I have over 300 hours logged into it and I've been playing it since the beta in early 2017. However, despite the thorough enjoyment I have gotten from the game, I cannot say it is without it's flaws. I will write this review keeping in mind players who plan on playing For Honor in the near future. I will try to keep this as short as possible.

    I'll start with the issues. The community is incredibly toxic. Opponents will send hatemail, teabag you, and use the text prompts to "thank" you for an easy win or "sorry" you lost. Ubisoft chooses not to patch these features out.

    Extremely steep learning curve. Not only do you have to master the move set of your character, but you need to know the move set of every other character to best counter them. This will take a while. At least they match people up based off skill and experience, but pray if you're new you don't fight more experienced players.

    Bad balancing, Newly released characters are always overpowered, and Ubisoft takes forever to fix them. Even old characters are still either overpowered or underpowered. There are a handful of characters you would classify as "balanced."

    Useless modes. There are modes in the game that are hardly played but kept in, and modes that people really love that are taken out (ice battles, carousel of death).

    Long wait times. It can take a long time at times to get placed into a game. Varies from day to day.

    Now for the good. Once you start mastering the game, the game becomes incredibly addictive. There are no other games like For Honor out right now. It is one of the most high intensity games I've ever played which requires you to be engaged every second you play. Despite all the flaws I mentioned, it is one of my favorite games ever. I'd give it a 9.5 from an enjoyment standpoint.    … Expand

Basically, all the aspects of game are slightly above mediocre level as a maximum.

    At this moment game freezes and lags fairly often with no correlation to intensity of what is happening on the screen or connection quality. On average, your character does what you expect him to do when you press the control key/try to make a combo or trick in a battle just 3 out of 4 times. For a game with combat system depending so much on correct timings and pace all these points are inexcusable and destroy the experience.
    More over, all the game modes except 4 v 4 Dominion seem to be completely abandoned by the players (generally, on-line is low). There is also a 1v1 mode which is not absolutely dead, but 3 out of 5 times matchmaking brings you to the 3 rounds of painful humiliation by significantly more experienced player as there are very few still playing this mode.

    Disconnects and infinite loading screens are in place as well, patches and updates make more chaos in in-game balance rather than performance improvements or core gameplay problems fixes..    … Expand

    The combat is definitely the best part of this game. The multiplayer and story however are super lackluster. The multiplayer just doesn't really work, and the story was just terrible. The game had so much potential, let's just hope they improve with the next game.

    For Honor was one of my most anticipated games ever. As someone who loves studying the history of these cultures depicted in the game, the idea of them all doing battle in a semi-realistic and competitive environment was enough to get me completely on board. Which makes it truly heart-wrenching to write this review. In this game's current state, I simply can't recommend it. It's beenFor Honor was one of my most anticipated games ever. As someone who loves studying the history of these cultures depicted in the game, the idea of them all doing battle in a semi-realistic and competitive environment was enough to get me completely on board. Which makes it truly heart-wrenching to write this review. In this game's current state, I simply can't recommend it. It's been nearly ten months since the game's release and the game is still plagued with bugs, connection problems, and abhorrent balance issues in spite of constant promises of improvements from the developers, who've only shown themselves to be more and more incompetent as the months have gone by.

    Let's start with the bugs and connection. In 4v4 modes such as Dominion and Elimination, I'd say matches completely disconnect 30-50% of the time. Given the game's peer-to-peer connection, this wouldn't be nearly as much of a problem if player's were compensated and rewarded for their achievements and time played in matches that disconnect. Even though this would be a no-brainer feature to add (at least as a band-aid fix while proper fixes are worked on), it remains entirely absent.
    Onto bugs (and exploits). This game has a ton of them. Up until a month or two ago, there was a bug known as "flicker", where basically, due to a rather lenient input window for certain attacks known as 'zone attacks', it could first make the attack appear to be coming from an entirely different direction before going into the zone attack's proper direction. Given that zone attacks are often some of the fastest moves available to heroes, this glitch could be exploited to a game-breaking degree, turning already hard to deal with attacks into un-reactably fast, risk-free moves. Combine this with another glitch known as 'unlock tech' that allows attacks not technically aimed directly at players to be uninterruptible and unpunishable, and it makes for a very frustrating experience. While flicker has been fixed, unlock tech remains, albeit in a slightly different manner.

    Onto balance. There are four classes of heroes: Vanguards (jack of all trades), Heavy (slow and defensive), Assassin (mobile and damaging at the cost of being slightly weaker defensively) and Hybrids (mixtures of the other three). Orochi, a samurai assassin, has two viable moves at a competitive level of play: Top light attack, and zone attack. This is because all of his other moves are easily counterable or just outright useless compared to simply parrying, something all heroes can do. This in turn makes Orochi a predictable and boring hero to play as and against. Now let's compare him to Warlord, a viking heavy and one of the strongest heroes in the game. As a heavy class, Warlord has faster light attacks, better dodging abilities, obviously better defense being a heavy, he has an unblockable headbutt attack that deals a small amount of damage and is fast enough to apply pressure on a defensive opponent, he has a hilariously long throw distance of 6-10 meters in a game filled with lethal environmental hazards, he can throw players against a wall for considerable damage even greater than his heavy attacks, his heavy attacks are uninterruptible past a certain point in his animation, and can be chained into light attacks as well as vice versa. Remind me how are these heroes even in the same game? One has a symphony of usabillity and viable options, while Orochi (much like multiple other heroes in the game such as Warden, Kensei, Shugoki, Conqueror, Lawbringer, Berserker, Raider, the list goes on...) can only spam one or two usable attacks (if that even) to compete. This doesn't even begin to describe the larger underlying balance issues such as defense maneuvers in general being far too rewarding and safe compared to attacking, the game being based almost entirely on reaction time as opposed to other fighting game fundamentals such as spacing and mindgames, and it makes for a game that is simply boring and fundamentally broken at a competitive level. Combine this with a slow, ignorant, and indecisive team of developers, and it makes for a game that can only be described as frustrating on every level. They have promised fixes to most of these problems I've listed, but after many months of patiently waiting and watching developer streams, these remain to be only promises with no real ETA.

    Nonetheless, this game has a truly massive amount of potential, and still has its fun moments from time to time, which makes it all the more frustrating to see it slowly die like it has been. If the game does eventually get the fixes it so desperately needs, I'll update and/or remove this review. But I wouldn't hold your breath.    … Expand

The campaign is short but interesting none the less and I liked how the story was connected every time you moved a faction and it was smoothly linked.     For Honor combat wise is very cool and it had a lot going for it. The fan base just died off too quickly. I feel the lack of maps and game modes really hurt the game.

So is it worth $60 No. but not many games are nowadays. $40 for sure it's an addictive unique game that is a challenge to master but once you get good and settle in to your main. Damn it's fun. That said there's not enough to it , 4 ga,e modes online and a short single player campaign. but again $35-40 it's a game that is a must play.… Expand

    Amazing combat but game doesn't offer you nothing more. Not bad but short main story and multiplayer start to boring you after 5-10 hours. There are some customization to your character but i don't see any difference on the battlefield and it makes it worthless.

For Honor brings us some of histories greatest and noble warriors, the Vikings, Knights, and Samurais squaring off in a history battle royal.

    For Honor is a great concept with a wonderful, fresh and unique battle system that delivers well. You start off the game creating an emblem on a shield, after that is complete you have the choice of playing through single player or multiplayer; there is no really point in playing single player unless you want to unlock stuff (This is mainly a Multiplayer game). From there you can choose which multiplayer mode you want to take part in, duel ( 1 VS 1), Dominion ( 4 VS 4), and Brawl ( 2 VS 2). I really enjoyed playing duel the most the other ones I was carrying the people I was playing with and then getting destroyed; after you choose the mode you want to play you choose the faction you want to represent, and from there you can choose three or four different warriors from that faction that are all unique with different weapons and move sets.

    For Honor is a solid game with a cool concept and great gameplay, but it suffers terribly from the peer to peer network it can take minutes to connect to an opponent, while in game your opponent can glitch out on you so much making it impossible to play and giving you a loss that is a huge problem.

    There are a lot of negatives reviews on this game but in response to that, this game is a disappointment to those who were excited for it. That is not to say it is still not a good game. They need to create balance. There is one way overpowered faction that you always and I mean ALWAYS win on if you play it. As for the controls I find myself yelling at the game because I have the analog stick in between two ways of the defense mechanic. This is causing my character to get repeatedly being hit over and over again causing him to finally die. Which leads me to my next point, the spamming in this game is incredible terrible. Let me give you an example at the start of every match you run up to your opponent and press o(b) to stun him then you can hit him 3 times then stun him again, which doesn't even give your opponent a chance of fighting. It's all great and all until it happens to you. Another thing that can happen is you can repeatedly press O(B) to stun your opponent until he falls off the edge. This is why I have a hard time playing multiplayer, because you or your opponent don't get a chance at actually fighting its just spam after spam after spam.

    As for the Campaign goes it is decent nothing incredibly moving but also not terrible. The campaign about 70% of the time is literally just the multiplayer except that its telling you what to do. There is right next to no thought process that went into the campaign that would make it unique or that would make it worth your time. It also not very challenging even on a harder difficulty, the only time I had even a little hard time getting by was the boss battle. THE BOSS BATTLE. Seriously? It was the only reason any hardcore gamers would ever play the campaign is because of the challenge, and the boss battle is the only thing that could be scraped up? I'm not saying I like playing every game on nightmare or extreme difficulty. But I do like to have a little bit of a challenge once and awhile. This game does not offer it. As for the story line it is pretty cliche and there were no surprising moments that added to the story. It is all pretty predictable about what would happen in the story. I will not reveal it to prevent spoilers. There is a co-op mode and I'm not going to lie it was pretty fun something about something slicing up guys with a friend makes the story a whole lot more tolerable.

    The graphics in this game aren't as great as Watch dogs 2 but not as bad as watch dogs 1. They do have pretty good graphics though to say the least. The blood is not very realistic as they appear out of the body not cuts. What I'm saying is you take a huge hit at a guys arm and his arm's ok but there's a lot of blood that appeared out of nowhere. With these type of games you need to have a wound where the guy was hit. Not like a game from an old call of duty game (or even newer cods) . All in all they need to patch a few things in the game before its too late for it. There is hope for the game but they have to nerf classes to make it more tolerable.    … Expand

    Big thumbs up for Ubi for trying something differrent to start with. The game itself misses a good story and the multiplayer doesn't have enough depth and is only good in 1 vs 1 gametypes. I would go for the Dark souls approach with a solid PVE combined with PVE, this could've made this game great.

    What is good about the game?:

    -It has a simple feel to the combat, yet also showing great depth making this a fighting game EVEN casuals can enjoy.

    Cons:
    -Not the best story, this is a subjective point and i'v heard alot of people actually enjoying the campaign. I don't drag the game alot down in score just because of a bad campaign (IMO) because this was displayed as a multiplayer game. The story gives you no feel for the characters, no attachments whatsoever and tells a tale of a warmongering knight, you are given 6 chapters for each faction and the "missions" you will be doing are rather boring. The only good thing is the cutscenes and some of the voice acting.
    -Repetitive. The game is repetitive and will get boring after a certain amount of time, just like any other fighting game. I'v played this game for about 240 hours now and i can certainly see the interest of the game dropping down, atleast for me. This has not only something to do with how repetitive the game feels but also the balance and how rewarding it feels to win a match.
    -Balance. This is ubisofts first attempt on a fighting game and it really shows. The balance in this game is something that can OFC be fixed, and in every fighting game you will have some kind of unbalancement. Some of the matches feel cheap and it feels like you cant do anything except taking a blow, just because you picked a character that does not have great tools.
    -The feeling of reward. There just is no feeling of reward in this game, you win a match and you're like "huh, i guess i won" and will shrug it off. In SFV or MKX i will get the victory with reading the opponent correctly and executing a combo that i'v practiced on, this will really get me riled up! I REALLY miss that feeling in For Honor, and my guess is that it is way to simplistic and you can cheese your way out of most fights, the challenge is not that great when it comes to players, sadly. I will say that they are going to add ranked and tournament mode which will make this game more competitive and maybe even more rewarding, but until then. This is still a problem.

    My reasons for judging the game are subjective and the only reason i post this is to have my say in the matter. Some people praise this game WAAAAY too much and others hate on it too much.

    -Micro-transaction in a 60$ + game. Not cheap on either.
    -Lack of map
    -Lack of game type.
    -A campaign with so many plot hole that it would make a Swiss cheese blush. (at least there's one)
    Only multi-player no Internet no game.
    -Stuck going on Uplay for PC user. (ps4 user here)
    -Matchmaking is a joke. 1 player rep 2, 3 bot vs rep 6/7/8 in 108 gear. seen it i was on the bot side and it happen time to time.

    - The mixture of Mount & Blade and Dark Souls combat styles (sans magic or real ranged weaponry or horses nonetheless) is fairly successful, although imperfect in places.
    - The maps that do exist - of which there are relatively few - are very detailed and play well - Artwork is generally pretty good and animations provide very appropriate tells to where a HUD is not necessary    GOOD:
    - The mixture of Mount & Blade and Dark Souls combat styles (sans magic or real ranged weaponry or horses nonetheless) is fairly successful, although imperfect in places.

    - The maps that do exist - of which there are relatively few - are very detailed and play well

    - Artwork is generally pretty good and animations provide very appropriate tells to where a HUD is not necessary

    BAD:
    - Single player campaign is short and either pathetically easy (90% of the time) or annoying (when bosses show up). The story is so generic there might as well have not even been one, and no one's behavior makes any sense.

    - The vast majority of characters are masked because the developers were too lazy to animate the faces or just have static faces.

    - There are 12 classes but essentially 2 play styles: attack people quickly around their attacks, or smash them with a huge long-distance attack that they're not expecting. This has a number of ill effects on the gameplay:
    a. Teamplay basically just consists of ganking in a fashion similar to any other team action game you've played. This is especially the case since there is stagger so the victim cannot fight back, and you generally have to be locked on (unlike Mount & Blade or Dark Souls) to actually be effective. The targeting system is awful.
    b. Duelling consists of timing your special abilities properly like a MOBA instead of a careful fencing match like M&B.
    c. None of your progress really means anything other than aesthetics.

    - There might as well be no music in the game. The most memorable tunes will be the menu music (that you'll hear many times after being disconnected) which has no melody or the lobby music which is basically a drum march.

    - Graphics are not bad, but they're nothing terribly impressive. Most of the processing power seems to go into creating detailed surroundings. The characters might be out of an Army of Two sequel.

    - Netcode is totally awful, as if you need to be told this by now. All matches are peer-to-peer and if more than one person leaves the game (don't worry, server capacity is 8 - lol) then everyone gets kicked. Some people get kicked from the majority of their matches before they complete. For me, it's about 40%. Yes, my router is set up properly, and yes, I have more than 100 Mbps down and 30 up.

    - Combat is interesting but doesn't particularly make sense. Most people hack with their weapons, like that's going to significantly affect a fully plated opponent. There are very few thrusting attacks unless you're a polearm class. You cannot interrupt giant telegraphic attacks with a shove, but a tiny graze with a knife will do. You cannot fall more than 2 stories before DYING, although you can be clubbed in the head 3 times by a kanabo, something historically used to destroy metal armor and paralyze horses, without being permanently wounded. Arrows are insanely powerful, mainly because they are relegated to feats with long recharge times, like that makes sense. You can sprint forever but as soon as you swing your weapon about 4 times you are out of breath and almost defenseless. Essentially, everyone is forced to behave like they're fighting in a video game.
    - There is a massive amount of downtime. It's not at GTA Online levels, but it has taken me upwards of 7 or 8 minutes regularly to begin playing a game mode that I want to. This is especially problematic when the game gives you Destiny-esque daily orders to complete as your only real means to gaining currency or experience. Loading maps, loading the lobby, matchmaking, waiting for players to ready up, watching unskippable cutscenes and faction war briefings - it's all unavoidable, all unskippable. The only way you can really get around it is to make a custom match that won't count toward your progress. You HAVE to sit there for virtually half the time doing nothing.
    - Cynically, to circumvent this, a number of players will just sit at the back of the map while their teammates carry them through because they will, nonetheless, get progress toward the "complete x number of ... matches" orders. Today I even played with a guy whose PSN name included Farmer. Unlike better games from 20 years ago, there are no means to flag or kick these people.    … Expand

    Like in most Ubisoft games, it's clear that the team that developed For Honor have tons of talent and creativity, but the end product is shamefully ruined by the capitalistic nature of this company. I know I have been disappointed by Ubisoft for the last time. At this point in time, there's no doubt, whatsoever, that they're all about quantity over quality. It is very possible to do well in For Honor, if you're an exceptionally skilful player who don't mind investing a lot of time in a game that's designed to frustrate you into spending money beyond the asking price of the base game. I would not feel sad at all, if Ubisoft suddenly went bankrupt. They deserve worse. The talent of their developers are being tragically wasted.    … Expand

    2- Music score is very well done and makes tension work very well, especially in duels and brawls.
    3- Duels (and brawls) are the best part of the multiplayer, and make the fighting game aspect shine the brightest
    4- Fighters are well balanced in terms of their movesets and customizing them is fun

    Mixed:
    1) Graphics look great from a distant (and on the fighters as well), but the up close textures on minions and certain spots are muddy and shoddy.
    2) Its 4v4, while overall alright, seem diluted on the combat premise and using powerups just feels like a moba instead of a fighting game.
    3) Faction Wars is just a popularity contest, its up in the air on axing or improving it.
    4) Some matches will have pit falls and while it takes skill to make this game work, you can easily cheese and get cheesed by them.

    Cons:
    1) Peer To Peer system in 2017 is unacceptable in any multiplayer game, not just for player performance but also for internet security as well.
    2) Microtransactions and season passes infest the screen and encourage to spend more money "if you don't have time" (as the game screen tells me this by the by).
    3) Launch on PC WAS worse than consoles, but consoles still had issues with matches being dropped, game applications crashing, lag, recovering network displays.
    4) Campaign was awful with a forgettable plot, terrible voice acting, AI with god reflexes that dilute the combat and repetitive lines: You are a raider, legendary! YOU ARE A RAIDER, LEGENDARY!
    5) Loot boxes/scavenger crates that ruin progression and create (arguably) a pay to win mechanic (as you can buy the currency steel with real money to acquire those crates).    … Expand

    However, I can`t play due to numerous bugs and lags: can`t finish every 56 game, saves in the story mode from time to time don`t work - it`s really peaty on the realistic difficulty. It could be best game ever, unfortunately Ubisoft saved money on servers :(.

    Love the game and still playing it regularly. However Server connection issues when someone drops out makes playing with friends frustrating. Once someone quits out of a game there seems to be a 50/50 chance that the game will crash and send you and your party to the main menu where you lose all experience gained. If this gets patched then I would have to up my score to about an 8 or 8.5

I'm very lucky to get into a match where I don't have connection issues or lag. Which, at the moment breaks the game for me. A game where in just a few moments you can get cut down, lag can have a huge effect. I run in and start a duel with another opponent, game studders and I get a connection icon pop up on screen, then when it finishes connecting, I find myself dead. Or the connection icon comes up, followed by my opponent disappearing, followed by a new player joining, with full health. This becomes a problem when you've been fighting that other character, you've lost health, then this new player comes in and has full health, Basically giving this new player a free kill. That's if I can stay in a game, I'd say that 1 out of 8 games I get kicked out for no apparent reason.
    In the games current state, I can't really recommend it. I really like the game, but the connection issues ruin it. Hopefully, something will be done to fix this.    … Expand

It's single player campaign doesn't offer much (around 6 hours of gameplay) with a typical linear path. The only reason to play through again is for the collectibles.

    The multiplayer should be it's selling point, but it's hampered with a poor peer to peer system that suffers from major connectivity issues, a shop that drives you to pull out a credit card, and a limiting amount of game modes (3 in total that you can actually choose). It's launch is very reminiscent of BF4...

    Until they solve the issues of disconnecting every other game, I'd recommend holding off on a purchase. It's disappointing when the main aspect of the game doesn't work. 6/10 now, 8/10 once Ubisoft fixes the online experience.    … Expand

    For Honor MIGHT be good only in duels. Combat mechanic is just not enough physical for this type of game especially with more players. Also those "breakers" are awful. Talking about "deep combat system" is pathetic.
    Try Chivalry and u will see how "deep" For Honor actually is.

    The overall Graphics and gameplay are fantastic. Your character wont change its looks all that much though as you level. Thats a shame. Not much I found to really look forward too here. It will get stale REAL fast. Every match feels just like the last one. That is WHEN you can make it all the way thru a match

    And yea, there is no excuse these days for releasing a product on console that performs so badly in its execution.

If youre solo its comes down to this - youre fighting someone, one or two other players come and now its 3 on 1, they all start spamming heavy attacks, guard breaks, and unblockables. I can usually last until i get revenge buffs (an effort to balance out being outnumbered which adds attack and defence bonuses) but it doesnt help much. Unblockables and guard breaks are ok if its one on one, you just dodge, but in a situation like that you just cant keep track of it all. When things like this dont happen its a pretty fun game, but now that people are realizing they can get easy kills this way its happening all the time. You will be fighting and a faster class runs in and spams heavy attack for an execution. This also works the other way, you get a guy down 90% and your teammate runs in and steals the kill.

    P2p servers are garbage too. You will be fighting and someone will drop and the whole game freezes to reconnect. That is if you dont get one of the many errors and get booted back to the home screen

    Its not a totally bad game, just a lot of annoying things that make it money better spent on other game.

    Oh, and if youre interested in the campaign save your money. Its pathetic. People who think its decent need to get out more. Its cheaply done and only lasts a few hours with almost no replay value. The character you play is set and the missions are linear. Let me put it this way, ive enjoyed battlefield campaigns more then this one and thats saying something.    … Expand

The P2P might be one of the worst things I have ever seen in a game and the gameplay ends up being an irrelevant point when you arent even able to play the game. In the rare chance you actually get a match going, the game will end up crapping out 9 times out of 10.

    Game itself is good, however the launch is extremely flawed, would not recommend as of now. Bugs include: Random disconnects, hard crashes, hardware specific issues for modern parts, and general **** surrounding an "iconic" Ubisoft release.

    I played in the technical test, Alpha, and all the betas open and closed. Now I have played it at launch. It has been nice to see the progress in the game, but it feels like they put all their effort into 1v1 combat and everything else was secondary.     Most of the maps feel like moba style maps. Three lanes that players hop between. Obviously more maps can always be added. Right now the variance just doesn't feel like enough. The duel mode is the purest form of the game and I can see it being the focus in competitive play. Brawl can get messy especially if either team seems determined to fight 2v1. This causes a lot of scrambling. Dominion or 4v4 can be an absolute mess a lot of the time. You will likely see packs of enemies running around the map. In this mode it is unwise to ever think you will have a 1v1 match up. You will likely always either have an advantage or disadvantage. None of this really lets the gameplay shine, but more so shows how the mechanics break down and become obsolete.

    In the instances you do find yourself surrounded you can block attacks from people you are not lock onto and I'm sure someone who is a god at this game will post videos of them destroying people 1v4 on youtube, but for most people this will never happen. The revenge mode may make it possible to take on multiple people at once, but you can't rely on it to overcome the odds. The game is heavily skill based, which is good, but I also feel some of the mechanics need to be ironed out still. One thing I have found is that if an enemy starts a swing and you go to do a guard break, there is no collision on your guard break since they are not guarding and its as if you are standing there doing nothing. This leaves you wide open for attacks.

    Now I understand it by name is a guard break, but hitting someone should be read as hitting someone and its affect should not be dependent on their current action. I feel this is valid because lets say you go to guard break someone and right as you hit the button they do a heavy attack. Your guard break lands long before the heavy attack, but because it doesn't work or do anything in the current build you take the full damage from their attack. In the very least it should stop their attack and you both start over.

    Anyway that was me just pointing out a few things I think are holding this game back. I have enjoyed my time with it so far, but I really want to see it grow into more and have adjustments made to the combat. Its not a perfect game, but I think Ubisofts entry into the growing melee combat games is a strong and refreshing take that needs refinement. I won't say its the best one out there. Some of the other games actually make you feel like you are in a medieval battle. Other games have armor that matters in terms of weapons that are affective against them and archers which really change things up. For Honor offers less in a more arcade style game with small maps and combat that I feel has been done better. They are new and have time to improve, but right now they aren't the best entry. Still a fun game, but I have to question how strong the player base will be in a month unless improvements are made quickly,    … Expand

However, it is easily exploitable by players that would rather cheese their way through than actually fight. It is a giant spam fest. I have had several instances where I would play a one on one match for best out of five rounds, win the first round and the player will just quit the match. Granted, the quitting player is replaced by a bot, so you can still get the xp and stuff, but it feels cheap. The different classes are completely imbalanced. All I have to do when facing a somewhat big and strong enemy is pick the lighter assassin and just spam attack them. Even when their revenge mode is activated, as long as I keep attacking the enemy doesn't even get a chance for revenge. I gotta give Ubisoft some credit though. They tried making something completely new and unconventional. It's just a shame that the game that shipped just isn't really good. If Ubisoft can support it with patches and changes, I bet they could turn this game into a great one. The layout is there, and it definitely has it moments. I have been in a couple of fight with players that LOVE the game and it was a lot of fun. My heart was pumping and everything. Super intense. Those instances were few and far between. Kudos to the players that really love this game. Those types of players are building a community and really trying to make the best of For Honor, unfortunately they are outnumbered imo by the players that just cheese everything, and I really think those types of players will be responsible for this game's demise.… Expand

The story mode and the multiplayer mode (4 vs 4 etc) is repetitive and it fells like they exist with no obvious purpose .. The menu of the game is awful!!! I wouldn’t consider any particular character to be outright broken, but tweaks to them here and there (general damage buffs/reductions, making minor changes to combos) might help balance the playing field for the better.

    I think I might enjoy an occasionally larger map in modes like Dominion. Worthwhile combat filler (perhaps boss spawns that drop unique weapons) could help bigger map sizes feel less empty (considering killing small foot soldiers is, in my opinion, fairly unsatisfying).

    The camera can behave awkwardly at times (notable when fighting multiple enemies at once).

    Insta-death environmental kills often don’t look or feel cool and are an unnecessarily cheesy (and pseudo- exploitable) combat tactic. I might not mind them so much if there were fewer maps that had large portions specifically tailored to them.

    In the current design, the ability to flee (especially in Elimination mode) is a bit of a problem. An entire team of four chasing after a single enemy continuously sprinting to various buffs in a futile attempt to revive their only non-executed comrade only to get cornered and die 2 minutes later simply feels like a waste of time. Strategically guarding bodies or stealthily reviving a teammate for an epic comeback is one thing, but that window of opportunity should be lowered in my opinion.

    The A.I. is all too frequently laughably useless.

    The U.I. (particularly in the menus) is a bit visually eclectic.

    The sounds, and in particular the soundtrack (i.e. the constant tribal drumbeat), are a bit underwhelming. Echoing battle cries, epic death screams, minion grunts, and the ambient sound of war could be amped up.

    Graphics are solid with minor fps hiccups here and there, though nothing too captivating aesthetically.

    Character customization is sweet (though a few other fighting games go even more in-depth in that regard).

    Not a fan of the “steel” micro transaction system (chiefly considering gear stats).

    There is a decently high skill ceiling already (which is absolutely fantastic), and it strongly determines the outcome of a match. However, it is still a bit lower compared to many other popular fighting games.

    For all intents and purposes, this game plays like a fighting game within a relatively larger arena alongside trivial background noise (i.e. borderline meaningless infantry battles). Allowing for players to gang up on one another is intended to be balanced by the “revenge” mechanic (and pulling out a win as the underdog in those situations feels great), but that and the fairly unique combat system itself are not quite compelling enough features to really make this game stand out overall compared to other mainstream fighting games. In fact, compared to those games, the lack of maps, modes, unique aesthetic, and characters makes me wonder if the bits that are supposed to make this game exceptional are really worth the AAA price. Coupled with the issues I noted earlier, they just aren’t enough (unless someone is a real diehard fan of both fighting and medieval games). I do think this game has potential to be good, but, as of right now, not much else.    … Expand

Gear seems to do nothing but customise your character slightly which is good but doesn't seem worth the effort.

Also a suite of the usual bugs - wall clipping, falling through the ground/launching into the cosmos, etc.
    Matchmaking is bad. There have been multiple times I've seen a game start and one team is all rank 1-4 and the other team is all 20+. While I realize this is a skill-based concept so that ranks shouldn't matter quite as much as in other games, it's still a matter of a team of very experienced players vs a team that isn't. And it happens often.
    Multiplayer connections are garbage. I get dropped from 1 in 3 matches because of some connection errors, and on top of that, half of the time that happens, it also bugs out matchmaking somehow so that I'm unable to match-make again without restarting the game. Again, that's pretty bad for a game whose main selling point is clearly the multiplayer.
    Lastly, the maps and modes are pretty bland. There isn't a great deal of variety in maps, and the game modes are frankly boring pretty quick. I'm also disappointed that it's only 4v4. Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware that people love to cheese it up and try ganging up on people rather than fight honorably, but still, only 8 players seems pretty tame, considering there are multiplayer 64-man games out there. This is especially true when you consider that the game makes a lot of emphasis on the fact that there are three (3) competing factions. I felt very disappointed there wasn't at least a 4v4v4 mode. Why there isn't any form of 3-way matches in the game with this setup really boggles me.
    Bonus round: this game uses cash-grab mechanics which always feels a little insulting to me. Just paid out $60 for your game and one of the first things you want me to know when I boot it up is that I can pay you more money to get more out of the game? Not impressed.

    It's fresh, and it's definitely fun at times, but frankly, I'd wait until you see this game go on sale if you're interested in playing it. It's skill-based, so even if you're joining the game late you'll have a better chance than usual of being competitive against the more experienced players, so this makes it a multiplayer game that's better for buying and playing late than most. And by the time it goes on sale, hopefully a lot of the bugs and matchmaking issues will be resolved, and maybe even 1 or 2 new character types will have been released.    … Expand

    New combat system
    Gfx sound pretty good
    No lag so far
    Hero customization
    Needs strategy in order to win
    Hero;s seem balanced between them

    THE BAD
    Everything is connected to microtransactions
    Campaign mode is actually a big tutorial
    Unless lots of contect is there to be added thers a chance you can get bored soon
    The hard copy of the game includes the dvd of the game and nothing else...oh and the picture of the game...no info about the game the heroes nothing...kind of lame for 70euros,

    its a runfest spammfest of little biatches assassins and nobushi. especially Orochi even after 2 betas its still just a spamming class, if u expect 1v1s dont buy the game. even in Duel mode, its mainly assassins spamming light attacks, bleeds or trying to push you off cliffs

    It's not a bad game, but it's marred by long load times and an unfriendly learning curve. The user interface is also cluttered and confusing when inside menus. My first time playing I was under the impression that all characters needed to be unlocked - this isn't true despite what the UI suggests.

    These are all things that could be improved with time and patches, but given Ubisoft Montreal's history with The Division and Assassin's Creed it's entirely likely that it won't ever be changed at all.

    As for combat the game truly shines as unique and engaging, though frustrating moments happen in droves when the game flexes its odd prioritizing/negating of certain attacks. Situations like your grab animations feebly whiffing as even long, heavy overhead swings begin and end with your character inside of your target occur frequently either due to random bursts of lag or poor balancing.

    If you enjoy reactive and fast gameplay then you might be at home here, but you're probably in for a lot of headaches before you get comfortable.    … Expand

    This game is good when you play 1 vs 1 fights, in fact i would say it great, however once you leave 1 vs 1 fights and try to play with 2 vs 2 or 4 vs 4 you quickly realize that the developers never designed the game with the intention of players fighting multiple people at once. Switching which target you are locked onto lets down your guard and means your certain death plus you can't pickThis game is good when you play 1 vs 1 fights, in fact i would say it great, however once you leave 1 vs 1 fights and try to play with 2 vs 2 or 4 vs 4 you quickly realize that the developers never designed the game with the intention of players fighting multiple people at once. When multiple opponents are close by my character the game often locks onto the opponent furthest from me.
    Overall this will make an awesome $5 purchase in a couple months, until then it's not worth it, especially when it's competing with games like dark souls which still has a very active PvP community.    … Expand
