I started and finished the FFX portion of this game August 2023, played "free" on PS+ Extra.
Pros: Combat is great, System is great, Music is great, Lots of content, including Final Fantasy X-2.
Story is mid. It isn't bad, but I don't think it is nearly as deep as any of the Final Fantasy bangers. The main character is annoying for too long. Cons: I think the random encounter

Cons: I think the random encounter rate has to be the highest out of any random encounter games, it is very frequent, and can get annoying. I am not a random encounter hater, but this was too much.

Very, very, very grindy to get ultimate weapons and accessories for your party. These involve really annoying and frustrating and un-fun "mini games". I'm usually a completionist, so this was very annoying. I did not complete it and threw in the towel. I've grinded thru many JRPG's but FFX was the most excessive, unnecessary and boring grinds.

Leveling up party members (not in the traditional leveling up since there are no levels, but to obtain skill points) is also annoying since you need to sub them into the battle and perform an action with them.

FFX-2 was not for me. I gave it a few hours and quit playing. (The FFX-2 portion does not effect my rating at all)

I would recommend this game as a good time killer and decent Final Fantasy JRPG game. But it is not on the level of the great final fantasies like 4,6,7,9,16

The characters are absolutely charming, each one has their own story, they are full of charisma. What fascinated me most about the story was that it was told by the protagonist himself. This character, Tidus, uses this type of narration (in the first person) to reflect his feelings, emotions and thoughts in every situation, which enriches the development of the plot.
In conclusion, this video game surpasses excellence and is my favourite game of all time.

Final Fantasy X was my first old Final Fantasy game. At first, I was concerned because it's old, but after few hours, things got better.
Anyway, the story is amazing; it's probably one of the most emotional stories I've seen in a JRPG to be honest.
The gameplay holds up well for the most part! It does feel a little bit clunky but it's still fun and more complex than I thought it would be.

The main characters are pretty good and the protagonist got better in the process than I expected.
The Sphere Grid is interesting and the RPG elements are servicable.
The music is awesome, the set-pieces are nice and the CGI cutscenes are impressive!
The graphics are outdated, obviously, but they are not bad.
Unfortunately though, some minor elements in the game are outdated, including difficulty spikes.
Also, the world design feels a bit too linear.

    Pros:
    + Fantastic storyline
    + Good characters
+ Gameplay holds up well for the most part
    + Sphere Grid
    + Beautiful music

    - Really Great -
Even after all these years, Final Fantasy X is still a damn great game.
Some elements haven't aged well, sure, but the story is so good, it makes the experience worthwhile.

    Do I recommend it?:
Yes but only to those who like turn based combat and JRPGs.

The gameplay was classic turn base combat so that was fun. The skill tree system was pretty sick and varied since all the characters trees connected and you can enter them and have like fusion characters.

There was one boss in the middle of the game that was unnecessarily difficult and harder than the final boss so that kinda sucked but it was just the one.

The characters were all fleshed out very well as well as the world they lived in. The story was one of the best yet, and honestly has my favorite ending of the entire franchise and it left me covered in goosebumps.

And who can forget the music, some of the best I've heard come from the franchise and with such variety too. Also a nice touch to be able to change between the og synth music and the new orchestra covers.

The all star cast was pretty cool too, with people who need no introduction like James Arnold Taylor, Tara Strong, and Tom Kenny. Aswell as the person who voices robin in the teen titans cartoons, and the voice actor of Bender from futurama John DiMaggio with many others as well.

Overall I'd give this one a 9/10 and from what I've played of X-2 so far it's looking to be just as good.

2 of the worst games in the series. Bad dialogue, interminable cutscenes, noticeably bad writing ,saccharine melodrama, uninspired music, bad level design, weak and cheesy plots. Just pass on these and the 13 games. All 5 are made by the same development team.

So here is the break down final fantasy 10 .. gets a perfect 10/10

Final fantasy x2 gets a 5 out of ten

I rate this hd remaster a perfect ten due to the fact the first one was a near flawless game with amazing attention to detail and amount of low that went in to it ..and this bundle comes with two games with a short .. so you really can’t loos on value

Graphics are a hit or miss for people. The content added is interesting and this is the only way to play these games on the current consoles. X-2 is utter garbage and should be fully avoided, X is the best it's ever been, again, if you don't mind the different graphics.

To fully enjoy this game, I recommend to grind and if you see that normal encounters are difficult in new areas, it is a sign that you should go back to previous areas and gain a few levels. The story was a bit complicated also.

I need to give also a special mention for the blitzball minigame who was great.

While instantly aesthetically displeasing and having bad writing and bad voice acting [really campy b-movie level], it really did seem like it was an 8/10 early on. As the game goes on it becomes more and more abrasive for many reasons. -The random encounters are all rock paper scissors fights where you hit really heavy and so do they, so you have to manually heal your party

While instantly aesthetically displeasing and having bad writing and bad voice acting [really campy b-movie level], it really did seem like it was an 8/10 early on. As the game goes on it becomes more and more abrasive for many reasons.

-The random encounters are all rock paper scissors fights where you hit really heavy and so do they, so you have to manually heal your party after every single battle

-They hype up this big sports game in the story, then when you finally get to play it, it is a rigged match made for you loose badly in, and then instead of that mattering for the story like they hyped it to, the game disappears into the menu at save spots as an optional minigame

-there are very annoying puzzles with unnecessary menus that pop up anytime you want to do something

-There are very few enemy types, they get reused often and in the same exact combinations

-There are very very cheap enemies that can wipe out your entire party before you even have a turn later on, making them harder than bosses

    -the protagonist is exceedingly dumb

-a sex scene happens completely out of no where with no lead up romance

-there is a race of people who speak a different language, and you find books that teach you one letter each, and you never piece it together. You are supposed to combine the letters your friends have found on the same game system by combining the save files. So you go through the game watching all this dialogue in a different language annoyed that you can't understand it and are missing parts of the story.

-the airship in this game is unusable

-they didn't bother to lip-sync the characters to the english audio

-an entire level where you have to constantly be on edge for lighting to hit you

    -and you can't skip cutscenes

This last point brings me to where I quit. After a 5 minute long cutscene, I was faced with a boss that killed one of my party members before I even had a turn, and then later killed them all in one hit. When you get a game over, it doesn't offer to reload from the start of the fight or the cutscene OR your last save file. It goes back to loading the main menu. You have to click through to prevent the opening movie to play, load your game, walk back to where you were, and sit through the same poorly written, poorly acted cutscene again, only to face the same poorly designed boss.

I truly do not know why this game is highly regarded, I am more disappointed in the community than the game.

    FFX-2

At first it seemed pretty cool. I could play through as a giant crab if i wanted to. The job system is cool. I love their goth friend. The way they tease each other is funny and lighthearted. But the more I played, the more sloppy the design became. I went to a place with a mission, it didn't tell me where that mission was, eventually I encountered a red "go there!" arrow on my mini-map, and when i went where it told me, there was nothing to do there. So I tried another mission and it involved going through an entire level you already went through in FFX just to have someone run away so you have to backtrack through that entire same level again, all with random encounters. This is a sloppy mess.

FFX2 is still bad, but the nostalgia factor mitigate its cheapness this time around.

There is one BIG thing that's off... The characters' models. Especially Tidus'.

The remastered models have this unfitting anime/cartooney feel that the original didn't have.
This odd difference it's striking when one of the hyper-realistic pre-rendered cutscenes plays and Tidus became a completely different character:
    White skin -> Dark skin
    Round face -> Slim face
Big anime eyes -> Narrow asian eyes.
They should've matched better the "more asian look" Tidus have in said cutscenes. It's so weird to skip from Kingdom Hearts Tidus to FFX Tidus.
In 2001 this was ok, due to limitations. in 2015 this is just a weird and poorly made choice... That effect the main character nonetheless :

All things considered it's a good remaster and must-have for every FFX fan.

    Pros:

    - Classic old school turn-based combat feels great with a variety of characters, their options in terms of spells, skills, moves. This is the main advantage of the game, the reason for me to play it.
    - Graphics still look good after an HD remaster, although this game was originally developed 20 years ago.
    - Interesting story to follow, the good atmosphere of the world
    - A lot of cut scenes
    - The great character progression system

    Cons:

    - The biggest annoying factor of this FF is minigames, they are weird and no fun at all, and you cannot skip them
    - You cannot skip cutscenes, which is especially critical at the end of the game with hard boss fights
    - You cannot load the game in the menu, only from the title screen. Annoying.
    - Random encounters are too often. Practically every 10-15 seconds of walking u have to fight, even if you go back. This is especially annoying at the end of the game, where some fights with regular mobs are like a mini-boss fight. You can skip them, but still...
    - Fixed camera, after some time you get used to it.
    - I would like to have more full description of the enemies, their weaknesses, that you can get from the scan spell. You can still experiment and find those weaknesses, but there are so many of them possibly...
    - The main story of the game and quantities of fights was more than big enough for me, to skip any other side quests.
