    Wow finished the game a a while ago, went in without watching any game play vids or reviews, was very impressed I liked the combat system it just worked very well. Graphics were well presented I played on a base ps4, one thing I did though was switch off the HDR it looked a bit off on some textures like the hair making it look a bit fluffy.
    The game play was also good from weapon upgrades    Wow finished the game a a while ago, went in without watching any game play vids or reviews, was very impressed I liked the combat system it just worked very well.     One of the best games I played for long time, the story telling, the graphics, character design and development, the only downside is it's not complete yet and I have to wait for each part 2 or 3 years to come.

    It's exciting to see the rebirth of an old game that has been loved for many years. The new FF7 is really great! Unparalleled picture quality and exquisite motion capture.
    More importantly, Square's battle system has accumulated many years of experience. ATB's combat system has evolved with multiple generations of Final Fantasy series, and it shines in FF7REMAKE. It's so cool to play Hard Mode!

    Like many this game represent a large sum of my childhood, my expectation for this game was insurmountable but was met in surprise different ways the combat system was like a resharpen model of FF15 much more rewarding and clean, combat doesn't feel dull the story follows the over the premise of the originals with a deeper focus on character building and twist. With that, the negative was the pacing toward the later half of the game felt like the build-up it was winding up was leading toward the end in a lot of scenarios so made the game hard to grasp when it was going to wrap up but I guess might not be a con for some to keep that element a surprise. The game great attention to detail and placement incited my curiosity to explore and actually want to do side quest and tedious errands.… Expand

    Never played the original game, but this remake absolutely awesome. The combat system is perfect, animations are great, but I feel like the story was a bit complicated and gave me a kingdom hearts vibe. Overall, I enjoy the game, on my way of second playthrough for platinum. TEAM TIFA YEAAHHH!!

    This game brought me back into gaming after a 10 years break, previously, other games just did not grab me and I couldn’t get past the first few hrs . Battle system is a treat and only gets better on hard mode and it’s great to see FF7 characters in HD, looking forward to future releases.

    Really great game! Both nice story, awesome boss battles and all characters with their own personality. You can tell they put a lot of work into this and I cant wait for part two! And the animation! Soo cool and Beautiful, the skin has structure during cut scenes!! Defenetly worth the money. I bought it in the Playstation Store but I Kinda want to buy it again just to have the game in irl.

    This is like that meme: "I've only had Tifa, Aerith and Cloud for a day and a half. But if anything happened to them, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.". Way better than the original FFVII, one of my favourite games of all time, and that's a LOT.

    The story is beautiful, and it was treated with great care in this remake, the characters are impeccable, the soundtrack is surgical in all parts of the game and very well transitioned from one scenario to another, the graphic is to fill your eyes with water and the battle system is impossible to get sick. Platinumed in 4 days.

    I’m not a RPG fan but I might be after FF7 Remake. I played FF1 (NES) as a kid but grew bored of RPG’s and haven’t played one in 30 years.

    I didn’t know what to expect from FF7R and was overwhelmed at first. The fights were fast and seemingly complex - having to fight and watch the life gauge, ATB gauge and the boss’s animations to know when to block and attack.     I didn’t know what to expect from FF7R and was overwhelmed at first. The fights were fast and seemingly complex - having to fight and watch the life gauge, ATB gauge and the boss’s animations to know when to block and attack.

    But it only took me about an hour or so to start feeling comfortable with the combat. After the first couple chapters it became like 2nd nature. I’m no longer overwhelmed and I love it more than the hack & slashes I’m more used to.

    I’m at the final chapter of the game and I’m beyond impressed. I started playing this game for my wife’s enjoyment, I was admittedly curious myself but felt it would be too cheesy for my liking. Now I’m very much attached to the characters and this game has been quite a journey. It’s constantly left me wowed with its visuals. The gameplay is fantastic and I can’t recommend this game enough. I haven’t seen the ending yet but I’m sure I’ll be patiently waiting for Part 2 once it’s all over. This game is quite an experience. Solid 10 out of 10.    … Expand

    - Art Design is very, very well done. The world and setting. The protagonists too. No matter if main or next to character.

    - The combat system has been adapted very well in this day and age. You are often forced to control all characters in battle, which the game does very well! For old fans there is still the classic mode. Nice encore!

    - Midgar was shown much more interesting, bigger and more intense in Remake. You learn a lot more about the people and the city itself. In my opinion, it's very important because the city is a very important part of the entire story of FF VII.

    -The soundtrack is fabulous. Nobuo Uematsu and his team did a great job. I could list tons of songs ...

    - The story itself is one of the best in video game history and is more relevant than ever!

    - On the subject of the opening scene, for me the best thing I've ever seen. The developers have outdone themselves! The tracking shot, the background music. The transition from CGI to in-game! This is how you start a game! Bravo Square Enix!

    - The sound itself is of the finest quality! High quality, whether in the fights or in quiet scenes.

    -Graphically very successful. Thanks to the Unreal 4 engine, the game looks very good as an overall package.
    Light effects, great resolution. buttery smooth performance ... there are small negative points that didn't bother me that much.

    Cons:
    - In some places the backgrounds are a bit vague.

    - Textures sometimes load a little late.

    - I played the story in English with German subtitles. In my opinion, the content comes across much better in English. The German texts are of course based on the German synchronization. But why isn't the German synchronization aligned with the English one? The content comes across much better in Japanese and English.    … Expand

    I never played the ps1 version of this game, and didn’t know Nothing about the story, Final Fantasy X was one of my favourite games I loved the story and i was started to think that no other game can make me fall in love like it.
    I was wrong, the story, the character is one of the best you can find in RPG. No game is perfect but in this case I have to do an exception.

    Great JRPG, took me back to the old times!
    The characters and music were hands down the best aspect of this game, made it feel so much alive and soulful. Love it!

    Loved the game. The story is great and interesting. The characters are lovable. The soundtrack is amazing. Length of the game is good. I was not the biggest fan of the fighting system but that's subjective. Overall, a great game!

    Final Fantasy VII Remake é o exemplo de como se deve fazer um remake, pois ele pega a primeira parte do jogo original (mais adiante eu falo sobre isso) e aprofunda ainda mais o desenvolvimento da história e dos personagens. Os gráficos em geral são bonitos, porém o jogo infelizmente tem um problema na hora de carregar as texturas, pois em cenários mais abertos as texturas ficam borradas,Final Fantasy VII Remake é o exemplo de como se deve fazer um remake, pois ele pega a primeira parte do jogo original (mais adiante eu falo sobre isso) e aprofunda ainda mais o desenvolvimento da história e dos personagens. Os gráficos em geral são bonitos, porém o jogo infelizmente tem um problema na hora de carregar as texturas, pois em cenários mais abertos as texturas ficam borradas, porém nada que atrapalhe a experiência; a jogabilidade é fenomenal, pois ela consegue agradar tanto os que jogaram o jogo original quanto os que estão jogando pela primeira vez; e a trilha sonora é impecável, pois são as músicas do jogo original remasterizadas em um tom orquestrado, criando uma ambientação para o jogo. Agora sobre a polêmica dele ser dividido em três partes, eu entendo a indignação do pessoal em ter que pagar o preço cheio nas três partes (eu também achei isso meio zoado), porém se eles tivessem feito o jogo inteiro em apenas um disco, ele iria ocupar metade do espaço do HD do PS4, e também não seria possível eles aprofundarem a história e os personagens como eles fizeram nessa primeira parte, então vejo isso como um mal necessário. A primeira parte desse remake foi sensacional, e mal posso esperar pelas próximas partes que serão lançadas nos próximos anos!… Expand

    + На пс4 слим отличная картинка без лагов.
    + Приятная музыка и английская озвучка.
    + Концовка просто нереальная.

    - Нет локализации.
    - Стандартной сложности мне не хватало, но я по хардкору обычно. Хард открывается после первого прохождения,

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Un juego decepcionante, ese seria el mejor resumen que puedo hacer del mismo.
    - Los gráficos son excelentes, la ambientación de migdar es increíble, pero todo palideces con un diseño de niveles desastroso (de los peores de la generación).
    - El sistema de combate es divertido y profundo, pero se vuelve muy tedioso con la pésima inteligencia artificial que tienen los compañeros y eso sin mencionar que los enemigos son esponjas de daño, si no tienes equipada la magia a la que es débil, las batallas se vuelven excesivamente largas. Literalmente te vez obligado a llevar la materia que evaluá a los enemigos, lo cual se vuelve coñazo.
    - El juego es demasiado pasillero, lo cual no debería ser un problema, me gustan los jugos lineales; pero se vuelve un coñazo cuando no te dejan explorar a libertad y todo el tiempo te obliga a seguir la misión de turno.
    - La música del juego original es casi perfecta, solo necesitaba una materización, pero en lugar de ello decidieron crear remix extraños que suenan muy inferiores a las canciones originales. Solo basta con escuchar lo que hicieron con la canción "mako reactor" o "the oppressed".
    - Por ultimo quiero nombrar los cambios en la historia, si un juego lleva el nombre "remake" significa que su historia será 1 a 1. Si pretendían crear una "re imaginación" le hubieran colocado otro nombre y los que amamos el juego de 1997 nos evitábamos tener que jugar esté bodrio. El añadido de los "ecos del destino" no suma nada, al contrario resta y la sobre explotación de la figura de sephiroth lo convirtió en un villano plano y sin justificación alguna. Los que jugamos el original entendemos su motivación, pero un jugador nuevo no, el haber perdido ese aire de respeto y misticismo que invocaba su figura es desacierto. Lo peor de todo es que la historia original era más adulta, no tenía reparo en matar a todas las personas del sector 7, cuando jenova escapaba no tenía timidez en mostrar sangre, el edificio destruido y al presidente asesinado... Podría escribir paginas de los cambios que arruinaron parte de la historia, pero mejor ejemplifico todo con mi nota.
    En fin... un juego que esperé por años, pero por desgracia me dejo un gusto amargo.    … Expand

    Boring side missions instead of knowing some other characters better.
    Combat can sometimes be very annoying. It's like you can dodge and do normal stuff but you also have some kind of turn base. I would've prefer turn base with awesome animations and strategic play but I kind of enjoyed the gameplay.
    I hated the mini games.
    I was okay with cutting the fillers and focus more on the main missions.
    This part had too many blanks, to many bad changes to the story.
    Nobody liked the stupid ghosts or whatever they're called (that's how much I care about them).
    I feel like the next parts will disappoint me and Square Enix will not have the balls to make the same story, with the important death and complex story for Cloud.
    I see the hard work but can't give it more than 8.
    Used time and money to implement this new battle system when a turn base was okay, make useless side missions, trying to change a good story into something we already is boring and we see everywhere: more parallel universes that can change your destiny and future...
    We have no idea how much we will wait and if it deserves the wait.
    I'm okay focusing more on what important instead of making too many things that will only make you more bored and care less for the good parts.
    I love to see a remake of the game but I'm also disappointing.
    I had fun with the game so it deserves an 8 but if the story is not better in Part 2 I don't think I will play it or I will play it after 1 year and maybe give it a 6 (if it's as bad as I expect it to be).
    It's like Square Enix forget what made Final Fantasy 7 famous. They attack the good parts and try to change it.    … Expand

    The story of the game is quite different from the original but it is still awesome. Characters feel so alive and you feel like a part of the gang. Gameplay is very fun but level designs could have been a little bit more explorable. The same thing also applies to the city. I wish we could explore every section of Midgar. But overall it is one of the best games of 2020.

    The game detail the Midgard events and some open points from the original FFVII. The new combat structure works very well and makes me feel happy when i have to fight against a boss, for example. Epic boss battles will turn you an "Materia Specialist" because the knowledge gets you advantage in the fight.     I loved this game to the core. A beautiful masterpiece. The characters are amazing they felt so lively! each one with his own personality, even secondary characters. The combat imo feels refreshing and original, a mixture between the best of both past and present in FFs. I didn't have a problem with the semi lineal aspect of the game.     Newcomers perspective: This game is not made for newcomers, the initial 7 chapters do not explain why we are doing what we are doing. The visuals of games like TLOU Part 2, Death Stranding, God Of War have spoiled me enough to say that these are pretty average visuals.     I didn't played the classic, but oh my god. This game is sooooo good, the characters, the gameplay, the story, and especially the music. I can't wait for part 2 of it!

    I really enjoyed this remake. Square did a great job capturing the feel of the original FF7 and expanding upon the world. I know some people are upset that the entire story of the original is not included in the remake, but this is a full story and did not leave me feeling like anything was missing. The new combat system was much different than the original and took some getting used to,I really enjoyed this remake.     I am a new fan in this series due to this game. I have never played the original game before playing this, yet I feel nostalgic about it. The characters are amazing, and the dialogue is more than enough to keep you entertained during the side quests. The music is obviously amazing, and I can't believe old fans of the game had to wait since the PS3 for this game to come out.

    - once I got a hang of the combat, the fights can become quite exhilarating.

    - Glad to see the pay homage to Zack at the end.

    - the themes of the various areas were unique. One second I'm in a steam punk reactor setting, then a busy clubbing street, then the slums, then a haunted factory. There was a lot of diversity, keeping it fresh.

    Bad

    - countering should have been explained more in depth. Doesn't seem like I can counter all attacks. What can and can I not counter??

    - some of the gestures are weird. Not human like. Over done. Kind of like anime.

    - Jessie is way too flirty. It's awkward watching her flirt even in front of her avalanche team members. I'm not even in wedge and Biggs shoes, but I'm weirded out in their stead.

    - some of the movement animations were ridgid. Especially the transitions from real-time movement 2 a cutscene. Last of Us 2 is an example where that transition is done seamlessly, well FF7 still carries on that rigid transitions you see and old RPGs. Facial animations of NPCs are mostly very rigid.

    - the game is very linear.

    - not being able to cancel an attack combo into dodge roll is inconvenient. But maybe it's to force the player to plan ahead before attacking, which if is the case, then forgivable.

    - whenever clouds block animation faces the opposite way of the incoming attack, it looks very weird. I wish they would have made Cloud automatically turn around oh, so that at least it would look like he was blocking the attack. Although the attack is still considered blocked, it just visually looks weird.

    - the lever puzzle is so shallow and boring and it doesn't work properly I clearly matched the timing, but it still didn't work many times, which was frustrating.

    - aerith is too overly positive. To the point where she doesn't seem human. Even her "angry" emotion is not angry at all. She's like an android.

    - feels like I'm watching a chick flick. There's so much focus on romance and flirting themes. The flirting is too blatant. I like when it's hinted, not when it's so obvious.

    - teammate AI really dumb sometimes. Don't evade or defend properly. And builds docus meter so slow.

    - parry attack has no i-frames, meaning if I parry an attack I can potentially be killed by another incoming attack during my counter attack. This makes parrying unsafe at times. Cloud should be invulnerable during the counter attack. Either that or let me parry the second hit.    … Expand

    The graphics is great here and heavily emphasized on character models where it matters instead of wasting resources on genitals. The world is great too because it's linear and not some open world mess that's filled with bugs and useless chatter. They even put great detail into the NPC speech. With great lines and further flushing out the detail of the world.

    The story is original and possibly can't be told any better than it is here. Fillers are present Too and it fills up the world. They also give you some extra time to relax in between chapters. Side quests are curated. Not the best, but they each offer unique dialogue and cutscenes to further flush out the main world and story. They allow you to enjoy the world that they have painstakingly created here. And they serve as breaks. Because the main story are more like chapters in a series. Very well paced to create a sense of exploration and discovery.

    There are many locations in this game. And considering you can go though vents, walk amongst the roofs, sewers, maze like labs, ruins, and even 59 flights of staircases . Every other publisher would have cut this out because they are tedious when you say it.. no one wants that kind of content apparently. But hey it's here.. with uniquely designed dialogue and a great sense of progression along the way. No skin gathering to make bags, sticks gathering to make arrows, and all that kind of tedious progression wall here.

    The game is not realistic and it shouldn't be. It doesn't require you to craft, or even upgrade your stats. There's like an auto system to do everything. But manual system is also there for the hardcore. It's enjoyable. The combat is as flashy as it gets. You feel like a hero in the story. And who would choose to be a peasant in a game? You want to kick ass and this game lets you.. that alone should warrant 10/10

    There are alot of cutscenes in the game all with great graphics and mostly rendered in game. This is a technical feat even for today considering most games can't even create a smooth transition without a blackout frame or something. Performance also holds up quite well on a PS4 Pro that is. The graphics is really good here and you will be hard pressed not to be impressed. Textures are not great but I can't even be bothered to care because the majority of the times you would be staring at the characters rather than the wall or floors. Because look, it's not important or memorable to stare at the floors or walls right? The composition is what matters and it works really well here. Scenes are coloured and properly composed to invoke emotion and tension. Faces and character models are the best of any game.

    This game is not a short breeze. It's quite long and properly paced if you take it slowly.. it's around 2 to 3 hours per chapter. Just nice for a session every night.. for the people who love to blow through the whole thing in 1 day.. I would understand why they complain about the side quests.

    The soundtrack is amazing. Voice acting is absolutely perfect too.. I played it with Japanese voice and it's great.. because that's how it's built and meant to be played.. if you think the English dub is out of sync probably open your mind abit and play it with Japanese voice and subs. Because the world is global and English is just one small language.

    I enjoyed this very much. It has a great story and also unexpected quirks. I wouldn't detail it here to avoid spoilers but these are the little things that makes this game particularly memorable. Don't pass on this.    … Expand

    - If you have any end-game grind - like getting summons, getting weapon skills, or tomes - do it on easy.

    - Then (and only then) you should try hard mode. Hard more is quite challenging and requires some expertise/mastery of the game's systems and mechanics. It is NOT for casual players.    … Expand

    My only concern in this Remake is its story, most precisely Sephiroth;
    unfortunately for him after being a well written villain in the original ff7 game (for me the equivalent of the Darth Vader in games) he became heavily disrespected by the writers especially In Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts where we see him as a pathetic man without much of a plan that can easily be brushed aside once the script decide its time for him to lose, in Dissidia he is constantly defeated every time he test himself against Cloud, you are not supposed to fear him anymore but to laugh at him.
    In this remake they didn’t bother to introduce him how he originally was introduced but instead (thanks to Nomura and co. ) they assumed everybody already knew who Sephiroth was; a ridiculously over the top villain with no life that keep stalking Cloud.
    So here is my question; if your antagonist starts as weak as your hero, then what is it left for the hero to strive against? If Cloud and his party are already all powerful and all mighty defeating consecutively Jenova, the Arbiter of Faith and Sephiroth himself at 1/4 of the game then what shall I be excited for in the next game?
    Is it the adventures of Cloud? an unstable liar and violent punk or the intrigues of Aerith? aka Mary Sue going on a mission to save the world by changing destiny and bla bla bla ...
    My point is that weak villains make for weak stories because it rob the narrative of its tension and drama and end up undermining the heroes themselves, because if they are not tested by worthy opponents then they haven’t really achieved anything.    … Expand

Es muy injusto por diferentes motivos (cámara incómoda cuando fijas a un enemigo, combates extremadamente largos sin necesidad, enemigos que te hacen combos de 5 o 6 ataques que no te dejan jugar, etc ..) y eso por desgracia te saca completamente del juego. FFVII7R tiene mucho potencial pero está oculto por por sus grandes errores. Podrían haber hecho el mejor videojuego de ps4, pero decidieron no hacerlo.

There aren't any wide open explorable spaces to fight enemies .I don't know why the bothered putting an exp on the game if almost every player fights the same amount of enemies. There's only 24 sides quests and as I'm writing this I can only remember like one of them. After finishing the game, the game said there was more too do but I just didn't feel like doing it. I didn't really like the combat system because, its not turn based and it feels more like a hack and slash than anything else. Its too chaotic and hectic, too much going on in battles. I think the original FF7 is still a way better game than this one, because at least to me games are not about graphics. I mean why do we play games in the first place? For graphics? or for "GAME PLAY"? This game wasn't too disappointing since i never played it on release. But when i saw it for 10$, i bought it and said "what the hey" why not. Also i should add, it draaaaaaaags on like nothing i have ever played before.Like i said, it all takes place in midgar and it drags on pointlessly, not really adding anything relevant to the story.     I truly had an incredible time playing this, and being able to play the next one is my main reason to purchase the PS5. I'm planning on replaying this at least a couple of more times while I wait, and I think I'm going to check out more in the Final Fantasy series!    … Expand

    Man of a few words here. I just logged in to rate this amazing game.

    Gameplay: 10/10 (Most satisfying combat mechanics I played in a long time)
    Graphic: 9/10
    Story: 9/10 (There is one long chapter filled with boring sidequests)
    Music/Sound : 8/10 (I only hated the music in a few areas)
    Dialogue/Voice Acting: 10/10 (In japanese)

    Já conhecia o jogo, já havia finalizado ele no play1, mesmo conhecendo a história foi uma surpresa muito boa, foi nostálgico e absurdamente incrível jogar esse jogaço magnífico, quase um filme super interativo. O único ponto que deixa a desejar seria momentos extensos de muita conversa durante alguns capítulos, que aos quais durante a segunda e terceira jogada já faziam perder um pouco aJá conhecia o jogo, já havia finalizado ele no play1, mesmo conhecendo a história foi uma surpresa muito boa, foi nostálgico e absurdamente incrível jogar esse jogaço magnífico, quase um filme super interativo.     Die Welt sieht für den aktuellen Technikstandard glaubhaft aus. Einzig und allein die technische Limitierung der PS4 und PS4 Pro reißt einem an einigen Stellen aus der Magie in Form von leichten Matschtexturen heraus.

    Das Kampfsystem ist Kingdom Hearts-typisch: Schnell und knackig, aber auch so umgepolt worden, dass es bei Weitem kein einfacher Abklatsch von seinem kleinen Bruder ist!

    An einigen Ecken und Kanten wurde an dem Gameplay herumgeschraubt um es intuitiv, aber auch beherrschbar zu machen - Frei nach dem Motto: „learning bei doing“.

    Einzig und allein das Ausschmücken der Story kann an einigen Ecken des Spieles manchmal zu Verwirrungen führen, wobei das Spiel hin und wieder die Kehrtwende macht und wieder den Pfad des Originals einschlägt.

    Unterm Strich bleibt zu sagen, dass Final Fantasy VII Remake ein gutes Spiel ist, mit viel Ideenreichtum, aber dann doch Kingdom Hearts-typisch uns die eine oder andere Frage offenlässt.

    Ganz Kingdom Hearts-typisch? Kein Wunder, da Director Tetsuya Nomura ohnehin für seine ausufernden Story-Inhalte bekannt ist, für die ihn seine Fans so sehr lieben.

    Dennoch können Neulinge, aber ruhig mit dem Final Fantasy VII Remake starten ohne Kenntnis des Vorgängers da ihr jeglichen Inhalt, den ihr verstehen sollt, auch verstehen werdet.

    Für die nächsten Teile dieses Spiels sind wir hier in der Redaktion gespannt: Denn Final Fantasy VII Remake soll in mehreren Teilen aufgesplittet werden. Allerdings ist die genaue Anzahl dieses Mammutprojekts noch unbekannt.

    Exceeding in charm, humor, heart, and action. This remake excels like the original game it's based on, whilee somehow elevating the original content without disrespecting it. The soundtrack is flawless and the new character interactions and new combat system is Final Fantasy's best.

    Amazing game with very beautiful graphics and art design. I have only two complaints.
    1. It's too damn long. It's like 2-3 games in one and it's kinda good but it's too much. 2. Some battle mechancs and battles just don't work as they should on Normal difficulty.

    I’ll be honest, I’ve never fully played a Final Fantasy game before, not even the original FF7. So for me to be gripped by the narrative this hard even with no prior experience with any other FF or the original, going in blind, says A LOT about this game’s ambitions! It’s far from perfect however. I was expecting a long game going in (got done in about 22 hours which is long for meI’ll be honest, I’ve never fully played a Final Fantasy game before, not even the original FF7. So for me to be gripped by the narrative this hard even with no prior experience with any other FF or the original, going in blind, says A LOT about this game’s ambitions! It’s far from perfect however. I was expecting a long game going in (got done in about 22 hours which is long for me considering I skipped almost every sidequest since my attention span is the same as a bird’s) but some of these chapters are extremely long compared to others. Chapter 17 is probably the longest of them & is the WORST thing to happen to my mental state since Doom Eternal’s Ancient Gods Part 2’s final boss. There’s no reason that chapter 17 has to be over 3 hours long & you can’t convince me otherwise. All of the slow walking parts also drove me up a wall after a few times of doing it, and you WILL be doing that A LOT in this game, not even for narrative purposes some of the time! *rolls eyes* Factor in that the last few hours is basically a boss rush, each one more annoying than the last, and after breezing through most of the game with no issues at all, it was a difficulty spike that I didn’t appreciate. Aside from the final fight though, that’s legitimately amazing & one of the BEST video game experiences I’ve had in a while. I’m still trembling from the adrenaline rush!! The game is also stunning visually all the way through & I didn’t drop a single frame while playing. I’m kinda annoyed that they decided to make this remake episodic though. I loved the story don’t get me wrong, but if I had to choose between a full remake of the original over fleshing out the first portion of it into its own game, I think I’d rather go with the former. Too late now obviously, it just sucks that we have to wait who knows how long between these episodes & how many that there will be before the ending. What I do know is that this game is great despite the bumps I encountered along the road, definitely recommend even if you’re a first time Final Fantasy player like myself!… Expand

    Honestly this game really surprised me. I never played original, because it simply didn't interest me. But this one feels different and in a good way. It's more action oriented, almost like Devil May Cry 5. As far i can tell it still has these same locations, characters and bosses, so i don't think old fans should be worried either.     I never cared for original, i never played it, hardly even knew it existed, despite that i have always been hardcore gamer. I think it has something to do with me not having ps1 and playing on pc in 1990s. Either way, this remake is actually very cool game.     This is a beautiful experience, worth to try it. It's like playing best anime story. I recommend to play it in Japanese audio, even though English voice acting is really good.

    I was never really a Final Fantasy fan when I was a kid but I do remember watching one of my favorite YouTubers play Final Fantasy 15 and that it looked cool but I never really thought about it after that. Then a few years later, I picked up a PS4 Pro and after hearing Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming up, I decided to pick up this game to see if this game could help meI was never really a Final Fantasy fan when I was a kid but I do remember watching one of my favorite YouTubers play Final Fantasy 15 and that it looked cool but I never really thought about it after that. Then a few years later, I picked up a PS4 Pro and after hearing Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming up, I decided to pick up this game to see if this game could help me understand why this franchise is as huge as it is and after about 70 hours to pick up the platinum trophy, I can definitely say this game is great albeit with some few yet MAJOR flaws. The combat is remarkable since it feels like it was trying to appeal to old fans who loved the OG's combat while also trying to convince newcomers to give it a shot and it managed to find the perfect balance so brilliantly I can't get enough of it. The enemy variety is excellent to ensure you're always on your toes, characters are instant 10/10 with all of them being unique and quirky personalities, the story's pacing is better than I thought meaning I was constantly engaged even after 55 hours of the story although the ending does feel strange since it ends on a cliffhanger and it feels like there's supposed to be more here which I suppose does make sense given how there's a whole FF7 trilogy planned and also how massive the original Final Fantasy 7 is, the game looks so visually stunning I'm kinda surprised this could run on a base PS4, there's plenty of mini-games that are admittedly whatever but they are still fun, but easily the main thing I love about this game is without a doubt the soundtrack with it how always captures the correct tone of the situation so well I was always immersed. Now unfortunately, this game has some BIG flaws like how the side quests are pretty much just filler, your character sometimes randomly stops moving even though you never took your thumb off the stick and this is especially annoying when you're trying to reposition and then an enemy gets a cheap shot at you, the AI while not stupid can do some dumb things, there's no photo mode which is straight up questionable given how good this game looks, this one trophy called "Dressed to the Nines" is one of the dumbest trophies I've had the privilege of earning since it requires you to replay 3 long chapters 3 separate times adding an unnecessary 8-10 hours of game-time and I was so exhausted by the end, but easily the biggest flaw here is that it's held back by the PS4 like some of the cutscenes were pre-rendered, load times were kinda long, pop-in was EXTREMELY aggressive, and the low-res textures. These make a MUCH bigger difference than you may think because they put a HUGE damper on your immersion and it's also strange the pop-in and the textures are this bad considering I played this on a PS4 Pro. Overall, even with it's flaws, this game is a game I won't forget anytime soon and I strongly recommend it if you're an RPG fan and even if you're not, I still think you should give it a shot for the story and characters. If you have a PS5, PC, or even a Steam Deck, pick up the Intergrade version for the improvements over this version and if you don't, this is still fine.… Expand

    Amazing remake, seriously. I had never played original, so i had no idea what i was getting myself into and it was just so cool. All the locations, boss fights, main character looks epic with his epic hair. Overall super cool game. Can't wait for PC version.

    A great reinterpretation of midgar, is not as good as the original game but is a great one, one of the best remakes I have played. I hope that the next two parts will be better and will equal or surpass the original game´s quality. I would have liked to explore more midgar, but I am so happy with the result.

    Final Fantasy was a series I didn't know how to approach, and it always seemed not for me, that was until FF7 Remake.

    This is one of the few games that made me cry, with the engaging story, memorable characters, interesting world and flued and fun gameplay/combat, it was amazing. I have nothing but praise, and i could go on for hours. Easy, easy to recommended.

    The game is great even when it is not adding much new to the story or FF7 history. But it fills in the space between, makes it a more living world, gives more depth to the characters and surrounding world. It looks and feels great. I like the new combat system and the fantastic graphics. I am eager to see Yuffie soon ;)

    Amazing game I would give it 10 but…the end is a kinda weird, I liked that in this remake Zack is “alive” I love Zack, but that ending with Aerith and Tifa and Barret is weird, and I didn't like that it was like:

I wanted to play FF7 so bad that I went out of my way and tried the OG even though i don't like turn based RPGs and I still couldn't make myself to play it. I can absolutely see OGs getting mad over the story but come on the gameplay is absolutely amazing! You gotta give them kudos for that atleast!     Admito que eu não esperava pela qualidade. Não sou muito fã da franquia, tanto que é o primeiro jogo da franquia que eu jogo por ter sido disponibilizado na Plus do PS4. Tanto gráficos como mecânicas de luta e personagens foi um grande destaque, mas, ouso falar que a trilha sonora foi a melhor parte. Simplesmente incrível.

    As a third person blend of real-time combat mixed with some menu-based decision making, Final Fantasy VII Remake is a masterclass in gorgeous graphics, excellent characters, memorable and breath-taking music, and a gripping story. Gorgeous Square Enix-esque cutscenes glue together this rather long winded game. When the story here is good, it’s fantastic. Boss fights are well-crafted, and abilities have plenty of weight and impact to make you feel like your attacks are doing serious damage. At the same time, however, there are far too many instances in the game in which these very same cutscenes display very clear signs of game-padding (any of those factory missions in which your traveling between platforms labeled with various letters.) In terms of content, this game’s story is only a fraction of what it’s original version was. However, I never felt it detract from my experience too much.

    Even as a part of such a large franchise, FFVII remake is an excellent standalone title, and I can legitimately recommend it to any and all gamers looking for a thrilling story and gameplay experience.

    Through the game I feel that the boss fights were really fun until the last segment of the game and then they either required a trick or ended up being long and tiring.     Je n'ai même pas réussi à le finir il me reste 2 chapitres à faire mais c'est d'un ennuie tel que je n'y retournerai pas...
    La plus grosse déception de 2020...

    Amazing title. I first was sceptical, since I did not play the original game back then. But with it being in PS Plus, I gave it a chance. And boy it did not disappoint. Really liked the art style and the combat system. Still a bit unfinished for me, but the story was amazing for me as a new player.

    I'm actually speechless, this game is absolutely incredible. it's bigger and better than the original in every possible way, a huge improvement when it comes to the visuals, gameplay, animations, character models and pretty much everything you can think of.
    I'm going to start with the gameplay first, well what can I say, oh my freaking    My introduction into the world of Final Fantasy.
    I'm actually speechless, this game is absolutely incredible. it's bigger and better than the original in every possible way, a huge improvement when it comes to the visuals, gameplay, animations, character models and pretty much everything you can think of.

    I'm going to start with the gameplay first, well what can I say, oh my freaking god, arguably the best combat system i've ever seen in a videogame to date, the mix of Turn Based with Real Time Action is honestly flawless, it works perfectly and it feels very satisfying. The materia system is amazing, there is a lot of customization, it's easy to use and understand and makes the combat so unique and enjoyable. Also the boss fights are insane, there are so many of them, and they are quite challenging, you can't really play mindlessly and expect to win easily, you actually need patience and strategy to beat them, and I really liked that.

    Now when it comes to the characters, I think they're great, they have likeable personalities and slowly develop pretty well, their designs are fantastic and memorable, and you really get to bond with them which makes you feel like you're part of the team.

    It's worth to mention that the game is actually very big, the world feels alive despite being limited, you can just get lost in it. There is a lot of content, side quests, various minigames, VR missions and rewarding activities, so many things to do and places to explore, it's a pretty long experience and it's also very replayable, trying out new builds and doing the challenges is very fun.

    As for the main story, it starts pretty tame but things go wild quick, and even though it drags quite a bit later on, there are so many spectacles in it, some of the cutscenes are just cinematic masterpieces, everything looks gorgeous.
    The only issue I have with the story is the writing and some of the dialogue, it's pretty interesting for the most part, but it can get quite weak sometimes, some plot points aren't explained well and don't really make sense either, the story is clearly unfinished and I'm hoping the sequels do a decent job at explaining few things. I respect the fact that the writers managed to surpass our expectations by altering parts of the overarching story, it's a very risky but ambitious thing to do, and I really want them to nail it and achieve their goal. Overall I like the story a lot, and I believe that it's only going to get better from now on, I'm very excited to see how everything turns out in the end.

    Lastly, I really need to mention the stellar soundtrack, it's just so beautiful, one of the most iconic and magical soundtracks in a JRPG ever.

    It really is an outstanding videogame, It's not only an improved version of the original Final Fantasy VII, but it stands on its own very well. I would go as far to say that this is the definitive Remake, and the best Remake I've ever played.

    FFVII remake is one of those games I wish I could experience for the first time again. From the beautiful visuals, amazing soundtrack, and engaging battle systems, it’s just so damn fun. It’s everything I’ve ever looked for in a game and I can’t wait to see how part 2 plays out

    Final Fantasy VII Remake is the game we've been waiting for from Square Enix for so long. Atmospheric, interesting and exciting all your attention modern jRPG with an interesting story and spectacular battles. To achieve the ideal, the project only needs more even graphics and all the content from the original release. If you were waiting for a turn-based classic with new graphics you will most likely be disappointed, since the game has changed a lot. Everyone else is happy with the release of the first really powerful single-player release from the internal Square Enix studio for many years. Especially after the failure of Final Fantasy XV.

    What matters is still intact, and that’s the heart and soul of one of the greatest stories in video game history. It’s a return to form that has felt a long time in coming, and what’s even better is that there’s still at least two more games of this quality to come...They can’t mess this up, can they?
