    This is like a pay to win mobile game, the gameplay is not even fun. The packs are a waste of real money because most of the players you get from the packs are worthless and the game feels like it’s 100% scripted.

However when EA gave it for free in origin basic I've decided to try it out. Surprisingly I'm stuck in the 8th division.     I always play career mode but this year I decided to play the other modes FUT and the seasons but these are terrible as well. the gameplay is terrible and full of glitches and in every mode the gameplay is different. They always downgrading some features and next They say we fixed it. Last year headers are good but this year they go very high in weird way

    After declining for years, FIFA 20 shows no sign of redemption for the franchise. Scripting/rubberbanding/handicap or whatever you want to call it is even more present than previous years and makes winning barely enjoyable and losing even more infuriating.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It is the first time I have got so frustrated with a game I have deleted my game data and game off my PS4.

    I have played Fifa and PES throughout my teenage years (World Cup 98, Fifa00, PES04 and 06 being of notable worth, and even more recently, Fifa 13) yo-yoing between the two. I even played Fifa18 in the Fifa19 and 20 years because, it was still slightly enjoyable. Only slightly though...

    Now that I'm 31 and gone through the realisation that the last Fifa I properly enjoyed was over 8 years ago, it really highlights how far we've pushed the AAA gaming companies. They continue to serve up either unfinished or half-baked crap or, in EA's case for the past 2 or more years, the same game wrapped up in new shiny clothing with a little ribbon (probably looks like a lot like Volta).

    I usually play career mode. I didn't buy Fifa19, nor did I intend on buying Fifa20 until my friend offered the £35 for the purchase for my birthday. Given the reviews at the time, I knew for certain, I was not going to play the full price. Straight away, for the first couple of weeks, I knew there was no improvements - various updates disappointed and made little difference to gameplay.

    I'm sure nearly everyone here agrees with what is wrong with the gameplay and though I would love to repeat these issues in great detail (with goalkeeping, tackling, intelligence with proximity to the ball, HEADING) there's just a part of me that would feel like I'm wasting my words.

    The improvements need to be made, the companies held responsible. It lacks the required immersive detail and features.
    - It still makes me incredibly frustrated that, apparently, you can only train 5 players weekly.
    - It frustrates me that you can do little to absolutely nothing with what you earn as a manager or, what you earn as a club (stadium expansion anyone?)
    - It frustrates me that there's no consistency with the low, medium and high priority tasks you have to do for your club in career mode. I don't know if anyone else has a problem, but, please can someone answer how I can effectively impact on the season ticket purchases/prices? Other random tasks seem to effect the manager performance too much.
    *For a while, 4 slow seasons, I managed Crawley Town. Back to back promotions saw me climb the leagues. 3rd season, in the Championship, I won the Carabao Cup. The 4th season, obviously, starts with Europa League qualification. We qualify and instantly the goal is "Quarter Finals".
    My team, at the time, had an 80 rated player as its best, all others mid to low 70s even, high 60s filtered through into the first team because, of course, there's a lack of a structured game calendar (I remember playing a game on Christmas Day). How could it be that a team with such a low overall be given such a ridiculous task? Win the league, sure, but not even mid table Premier League teams with a lighter schedule aren't given priorities like that in real life unless they've spent the big bucks.
    To make matters slightly more relevant to the point I'm trying to make, even going 20-25 games unbeaten, top of the league, through in the cup rounds, top of the group in Europe and managing squad morale, the overall manager rating could make it down to 65?

    Please.

    (note: I could go on with what improvements need to be made.)

    I do feel like this review is late to the game but it is a particularly relevant one to make. I have acted unusually here - even posting a review. Previous games I have been impervious too; the annoyances didn't enrage me this much, enough to render a game unplayable. I usually make it to 11-12 seasons in Fifa before the usual run up to the next one is around the corner. I did not here and I feel a calm. A sense of peace.

    I am canceling my EA Access subscription because of this game. game play physics is a disaster, defending is horrible. unrealistic attacking, It seems as if EA is taking revenge on critics who say FIFA is an arcade game by making it 1000 folds more arcade. I have been playing PES the last 2 year and to be completely honest they are not in the same tier. If they would fix all the stupid and scripted things then this game would have been the best yet. There is honestly so many things wrong with this game that it would take more than a small little review to express the hate and describe the problems.

    This game is toxic! toxic to your mental health and toxic to your money. It’s not fun to play and compete when it’s actually up to the AI to decide your game. Maybe it’s scripted or maybe it just wants you to do so much to understand it. But at the end I couldn’t tolerate it and I definitely won’t recommend it to anyone. Stay safe from this one.

    Fifa 20 is honestly the worst fifa in a long long time. I grudgingly paid £80 for ultimate edition. Had pretty good team, but the gameplay is awful. Fifa 19 is much better game,if you're playing 19 and wondering if it is worth buying the new one, don't. After 2 weeks I have quit fifa 20 to return to 19. Don't buy it, it's terrible.

    We all experiencing scripting, server problem, button delay, etc etc, EA didn’t fix it, and just ignore it. I think this is the worst experience I have ever had in my fifa life. For the game play, I would say, if EA let you win, you will win (I spent 95% Of my game time on ultimate team and cost a lot for those card).

    The game is **** trash. Defenders with 56 pace catch up with 96 pace wings. Servers are trash and you can basically know when the script kicks in. I hope all of you guys stop buying the game and wait until FIFA do what needs to be done and make a decent game. This game is really bad for your mental health.

    **** game, awfull delay, passing is off, cant dribble, headers are useless, dynamic difficulty at it's highest effect, 50 pace defenders catching up to 90+ pace players, ball bounces all over the place, tackle the ball 100 times still wont get the ball

U want to get something out of your picks or packs? Ha,ha. not happening bud, unless you spend hundreds of euros/dollars/pounds etc on fifa points, you will not get ANYTHING. Opened about 60 100k packs during promos, all i got was **** 84 Fekir, not even a single walk out. The community seems to be more toxic than ever too, scoring a **** goal the defending AI is responsible for and then hushing u, watchinng replays and then immediately activating the meta -dropback- tactics, or passing arround the back from the 40th minute, which u cant do anything about. Also broken cards who are nowhere as good in real life, eg. Kent, Ben Yedder etc. are cards EA are milking the **** out of, unbeatable at any cost. I cant keep on playing while **** KANTE gets a header from my Boateng flashback. This is the worse game ive ever played, ive never got so close to smashing my dualshock, ive been making fun of people that used to do that but i finally understand. Only good thing about this game is how many cards there are, which apparently doesnt matter because in bad gameplay (which happens constantly), they are all performing the same as a 40rated bronze card. I hope PES 21 gets some major updates so i can buy it, I cannot believe what fifa has come to, and is the ''closest'' to real life footblall. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND DEVELOP ANGER ISSUES WITH BUYING THIS JOKE OF A GAME.… Expand

    Enjoyed playing FIFA since the 90’s this is the worst they’ve ever made. Pay to win. When they want you to pay more they nerf (make players worse) all the kids are hooked on ultimate team. It’s not enjoyable anymore.

    Gameplay is unreal, FUT has totally became pay to win mode
    Game focused on dribble and pace instead of playing football and passing. Looks like we play Volta even on normal 11vs11 matchs

    Servers as always getting worst (nothing new), no real updates for carrer mode and other online mode. Devs only focused on FUT as they make each year a lot of money on this pay to win mode

    I absolutely HATE this game. So broken, headers broken, passes broken, tackles broken, they force you to make mistakes, I cannot count the amount of times I should have won a game that I lost because of the broken game mechanics and AI. The game makes me sick.

    Absolutely useless online play with very poor mechanics. FIFA needs to go back to basics in a big way, they need to allow fair games and smooth gameplay for people and not be focussed purely on making money through Ultimate Team. But this won't happen.

    I will buy any other football game that will compete against FIFA in the future (I already bought PES, but it struggles to do the job mainly due to licensing).

    It plays arcadey on the lower to mid difficulties which is fine as I don’t buy games to mimic the incredibly boring nature of low scoring real football games; I want fun and laughs not a 1 - 0 grind fest. Paying a large amount of coins for someone with amazing stats still miss easy shots inside the box and they even hit it wide when I have the Aimer arrow on and I can see the arrow pointing at the goal but it still goes wide even if they have near perfect finishing. Then I concede against terrible players with wayyyy less stats compared to my players and they seem so much better. I don’t see the point in paying for these players when their stats seem like a lie and bronzes doesn’t better. The game randomly bugs out and gets stuck in a loop and you can’t do anything. Then you have to quit the game (squad battles) because there is nothing you can do then it counts as a loss even if you are winning because the game is **** and broke so you get punished for it. Defending is **** awful in this game. All of my defenders have good awareness stats and other things like that close to max stats yet they still stand around doing **** all while someone spams there right stick to do a skill and it doesn’t let anyone tackle him. He just phases through my whole teams bodies and it goes through their legs which I can’t help. I stand in the right position to defend and it goes under their legs which I don’t understand what else I can do. Also their players can run past my ai defenders like they’re not there which doesn’t make sense because that wouldn’t happen in a game and I can’t control all of my defenders at once. Keepers don’t try half of the time, don’t catch easy stuff, dive under and out of the way of the ball and boot the ball out by themselves when switched to sweeper keeper even if I don’t press a button and there is an easy pass on. Again bronze keepers end up playing better than most high rated keepers so I don’t see why I have to pay so much money for them because they all make stupid mistakes. Sometimes the game feels like ping pong. I tackle someone and it bounces off of his player and mine and they get it back. Sometimes this happens multiple times and you get punished for actually doing good defending. Pace doesn’t work whatsoever. I have 99 pace adama and he gets outpaced by someone like Laporte with about 70 paces even if he has a pace chemistry style, his pace is no where near as high. Again I don’t see why I have to pay for these cards if **** players that cost hardly anything can do better than them. But in reality, these players are terrible and are only good when the other player gets really lucky using them. I feel like I can’t get rid of the ball sometimes cuz it just bounces around and none of my players lock on to it and I don’t have the time to press the button and it doesn’t register. Heading is **** pointless every header goes wide and there’s nothing you can do, open goals and they still go wide. Also 5ft 5 players can out strength and out jump and win headers against 6ft plus players like van dijk which would never ever ever ever happen irl. I miss easy sitters and one on ones which should always go in cuz I aim it perfectly and they have very high finishing so idk why they go wide. Packs are a scam, you must open loads and loads of then if you want anything good and there’s no way to get loads of coins easily on a free to play account. But some people packs loads of icons and good cards and I’ve opened 5 times more packs and got less than that or maybe the same. My attackers never make hood runs and always stop the second I want to pass to them. Custom tactics feels like they don’t work. There’s more but that’s most stuff it’s the **** worst game I’ve ever played all I play for is to have a good team but I can’t pack anything anyway so this game is so **** **** don’t bother playing it.… Expand

    The worst football game ever made. Attacking, defending, turning everything is bad. Liverpool doesn't feel nothing like they are supposed to. Usually when you first play the seasons PES or FIFA, you feel optimistic but this fifa20 you don't get that, the game just feels horrible.

    Momentum since 2016.... now online too.... and yeah i know the producer tells : "there's absolutely no scripting in FIFA" but i dont belive it... i got enough games... first half 3:0, second half 3:4 :P mosttime some luck and unlucky goals :P coincidence? i dont think so.... i install now PES and hope theres is it better to play for players not to get goals as a gift :P

However, FIFA 20 is different in the fact of body positioning dynamics and is merely a horrific attempt to evolve and improve the game. From FIFA 19 to 20, the game feels like you need to spend tens of hours mastering the new body positioning dynamics to just have an enjoyableMany people say FIFA "the game that doesn't change from one year to the next". In some respect they are correct. However, FIFA 20 is different in the fact of body positioning dynamics and is merely a horrific attempt to evolve and improve the game. From FIFA 19 to 20, the game feels like you need to spend tens of hours mastering the new body positioning dynamics to just have an enjoyable game playing. 50/50 challenges should be indeed that, 50/50, however now 50/50 challenges where one player (attacker or defender) seem more like your on the losing end of 90/10. A player who is challenged by World Class difficulty on FIFA 19 will become intensely frustrated on semi-pro on FIFA 20.
    Ball control and passing is significantly harder this year. Instead of being a game where someone with little experience can pick up the controller and score some nice looking ,and well crafted, goals. You will find yourself asking "what, how did that happen?" On a positive note, the new Volta football is very nice addition to the game.

    Look away from FIFA 20. It's really not worth your money, time or storage space on your Playstation, Xbox or Switch.    … Expand

    The critics can suck my ass. Unbelievably crappy game. Whether it be Ultimate team, pro clubs, career mode or anything, this game never fails to disappoint. Our AI just got raped by a player in pro clubs, and they ended up scoring from it. Would never recommend anyone to buy a this game, except maybe my work at enemy. Shameful

    FIFA 20 is a better football simulation in overall compared to FIFA 19, but it’s still lagging behind its main competitor greatly. EA is losing the race to Konami, at least in this generation of consoles, where they used to dominate.
