    this version of fallout 4 doesn't have many mods, which is why it's an 8, and also the story isn't the best, but this is one of the most entertaining fallout games I've played. Gunplay feels good, most mechanics like perks feel good, and settlement system. It can be hit or miss for players but for me it's pretty relaxing and satisfying when the system doesn't have a stroke. Overall give itthis version of fallout 4 doesn't have many mods, which is why it's an 8, and also the story isn't the best, but this is one of the most entertaining fallout games I've played. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now it’s rarer for me to get into a multiplayer game. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (8) Very Good. Innovative, but perhaps not the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguably so.

    Who knew exploring a radioactive wasteland can be fun. The Fallout series continues to do a great job with notable companions and NPCs. Just wish they didn't throw camp building and sanctuary missions at you constantly and that the story is arc isn't foreseen from the start. First person shooting has been improved to compared to previous entries of the series, but still could use some work. I also wish there were tough choices to make like previous Fallout games. Now we have a better looking waste land to explore while we wait for the next one.    … Expand

    Played it for more than 1000h. Made all endings. Made different characters. I just love everything about this game. Im a sucker for post-apocalyptic games. And this one is MY favorite one. Played all Fallout games but this one is my favorite on!

    This is a good game, but it can't stand the atmosphere of the previous chapters. The main problem is that the interesting side quests are non existent compared to the past. I wonder what happened if more budget went to storytelling and quests writing, instead to the "make your own outpost" mechanics.

    The game had a few problems, which translated into a lot of damage. These problems, moving away from the roots of RPG and the imbalance between RPG and shooter, made it not become a top Bethesda game.
    The problem of the dialogue system and the character not being silent and the very few choices of this game was very good overall game

    Fallout 4 gets more hate than it deserves, it has tons of things to do, factions and collectibles. It has an amazing character creation. The story is at best decent. There are multiple endings that don't feel totally different from one another. This game really does have an incredibly enjoyable atmosphere while exploring the wastes of the common wealth.     My favourite Fallout game to date.

    Why? Because I can basically make whatever experience I want with this game. Survival? Check. Shooter? Check. Base Builder? Check.

    It's not even that buggy, especially with the amazing modding community fixing stuff Bethesda can't be bothered to.

    Is it perfect? No. Is it fun? Yes.

    I would give this game a lower score but since Im a big fan of Fallout 3 I think this game deserves an 8. its just a better improved version of 3(mechanics wise) other than that the story is ok and the glitches are all over the place.

    This game is unbelievable, love the RPG elements, the story is heartwarming and the side quests are out of this world, recommend to see which are the radiant quests and not do too many of them as they are infinite in amount but other than that perfect game.

The UI, as always with Bethesda games, is flawless. The game and world hooks you. The story is surprisingly complex and your choices really matter based on who you side with.     What can I say, I'm a sucker for Bethesda. I love their games and the freedom their games give the players, which is no different from Fallout 4. I have spent WAY too much time on this game, but I enjoyed all the little things as much as the big things.

    Edit: Creation-club can go **** itself, though

    This game is very good. this game has a thing that any other fallout doesn't have (without counting fallout 76) after completing the game you can continue playing it that thing is excellent. Nv and 3 are way better than 4 but, is a very good game

    Though not being buggy and not as great as its predecessors, it is a massive unique open world experience, which not should be missed by any bethesda, open world rpg or shooter fans.

    This game is fun ......is underated ....i play this even today i have 1000 hours in this game and still i find this fun .....and game shud be played in survival not casual(normal) difficulty if you didn't play on survival you didn't play the game...this game is basically skyrim with guns

    This was my first Fallout game, and i didn't had big expectations. But it was really a surprise to play this. The atmosphere feels so genuine, the story is interesting and it keeps you wanting to uncover more and more of the story.

    My first real experience in a role playing game and i fell in love with the different characters you could play as throughout the campaign. Looking back now , there wasn't an abundance of choice but the game does give you this freedom to roam free with your imagine despite in game additions.

    This game is a really good game, but I thing that the dialogues could have more choice like in Fallout 3. Also this game has the best graphics on a Fallout game. Another good thing of the game is that the shooting action is really good and the VATS has been weel implemented

    I first played this in 2018 and it instantly became one of my favourite games of the generation! I couldn't believe how immersed I became in the building aspect and aside from that, the world and lore in this game is amazing.

    I recently decided to try and play through it again, but this time with mods.     Fallout 4 has a good story, good gameplay and solid graphics. Overall , Fallout 4 is a really fun and enjoyable game(although its terribly bad optimized on PS4). I had hours and hours of fun playing and collecting trophies until I got platinum. For sure not the best game ever, but still, worth buying

    It's a good game if you love the Fallout series. The bad reviews are mostly about the price, which has dropped in the meantime and the Creation Club of Bethesda. I do not like the CC move either, you don't have to use it. If you're new to Fallout 4 I recommend to take a look at Nexusmods.

    In comparison with the other Fallout games, this may not be the best at doing what they do.

    The add-ons really add a lot of depth to the story. I do wish they could be more thoroughly integrated into the main map instead of being totally separate locations.
    Mainly, after playing it for so long, I'm roughly 98% sure that the main character is supposed to be a synth. It's definitely more interesting to think of it this way when you realize just how advanced technology is becoming in contrast to the wasteland that still exists.
    Overall, the story itself is ambiguous enough to be interesting, though the dialogue can occasionally be more engaging than it is.
    The settlement building isn't bad, but I feel like it breaks the gameplay flow a little bit to be so focused on junk.
    Overall, I had a lot of fun sinking into this character, especially in Survival mode. If you play this, you must play it on Survival mode! It makes the role-playing aspect much more engaging as you need to eat, drink, and sleep, you can get ill, and ammo has weight so you have to be strategic with what you carry. It's honestly fun to be scared of half the creatures at low levels.
    I definitely recommend this, though it may not be for everyone. But I'm enjoying my no-VATS, anti-factions playthrough...

The only thing i wish was that the endings had a bit more substance to them but over all it's an excellent game. I love fallout 3 NV and now 4. I will say that they should give the "war never changes" line aI love Fo4! I'm not sure why the ratings aren't higher.     Super jeux plus de 200 heures de jeux. J'adore la création des villes et le scénario très bien écrit. Plusieurs fin disponibles selon notre orientation dans l'histoire et un max de DLC vivement un autre fallout, pas en mode fallout 76.

    A great game, I did not understand well about why a 67/100 of user criticisms, but I do not care about their complaints, I will continue to like this game because of the game world, good narrative and the combat mode of the game, if I consider it as the best Fallout game I have ever played.

    I Really like the fallout series and have played all of the previous games and to say i was exited for this one would be an understatement. i was really hoping that 4 would be as good as 3 and i am exited to say they are very close in quality. I highly recommend this game even if there are some parts that aren't amazing.

    tbh it was my first open-world game that I played and boy oh boy it was legendary the only thing I think is not good in this game is The Minutemen missions it forces u to complete them by Preston Garvey
    only talks about those poor settlements that need help and if u chose to do it later the mission just fails in a matter of time but great game after all

    This is one of the best fallout games. It's new perk system is much more visually appealing. It's use of voiced character dialogue makes it amazing. The use of factions is good though not as well done as New Vegas. The guns are very good to use and even the melee combat feels good. However I would have like to see some more post game content but hey there's always mods.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Fallout 4 should be revisited. Let me first say I understand the knee-jerk reaction of not liking this game. When it came we were expecting another New Vegas and that is not what we got. Even so, I think people are too hard on it . Pros: Imersive world. Great art design, fun combat/perk system, great side characters and side missions. I love a lot of the "busy work" in this game. It gives you a reason to explore the world and a lot of it is fun. I love the settlemen building.
    Cons: The story is bland and they dumbed down the RPG elements. No branching story lines. Overall deserves to be revisited    … Expand

    I loved this game. I'm aware that many hardcore Fallout fans were, understandably, not satisfied with certain elements of the game but I had a great experience. There was an enormous colorful world to explore, improved shooting mechanics, awesome power armor, and interesting companions were just a few things that I loved about it. With my long backlog of games I normally only do one playthrough so I didn't get to see how my in-game choices affected (or didn't affect) the story therefore this element of the game had no impact on my personal enjoyment. There were things I didn't like, for instance the story and ending could have been better and the framerate was extremely poor in some areas, but I was having so much fun with the game otherwise that those things didn't make much of a difference.

    Pros: Power Armor. Improved graphics/shooting mechanics from previous entry. Lots to explore. Companions are interesting. Base-building was fun (see cons).

    Cons: Some missions get repetitive. The story/ending could have been better. Base building (and protecting your base from attackers!) was a great idea that was left undercooked. The framerate in some areas is unacceptable.    … Expand

    After NV my second favorit Fallout game. I play on Pro with SSD and a ton of mods, and this game looks and sounds great. Gunfight is, for the first time in Fallout history, good. The world is worth exploring and the characters are worth meeting. Nowadays, you get the game for less money than a cup of coffee. So there is no reason not to try it.

Um mundo enorme e cheio de coisas para explorar, diferentes jeitos de abordagem nas missões, que inclusive pode ter diferentes finais, vários companheiros durante o jogo... Também tem lá suas falhas, mas no geral o jogo é excelente!

    This game is just incredible. The narrative is excellent, the mechanics of crafting / creation is very welcome to the universe of the series. The only flaw is the graphics issue, which Bethesda decided to reinstate the famous Skyrim from a generation ago, with some improvements, but nothing that is visually so discrepant.

    A surprisingly good game on the PS4! I definitely enjoyed this game a lot. In fact, I can surely put it in my top 10 list of the best games on PS4.     Pros:
    - Fun and has great RPG dynamics.
    - Rewarding system and great loot.
    - Amusing story. Not very long but still satisfying and enjoyable.
    - Has Mods. One of the very few PS4 games that allows mods. Amazing!
    - Has multiple paths. You can choose multiple story lines to follow so you aren't forced to always follow the same story.
    - Easy repeatable, I played this game 3 times over.
    - Has a great feel. Feels pretty good on PS4. Rarely lags and runs quite smoothly.
    - Haven't tried all the DLC's yet but I have heard that they are entertaining.

    Cons:
    - Fighting the same enemies can get tedious.
    - Needs a longer story, once the game is done then you are forced to either repeat or freestyle the rest of your game. Both can get boring if done for too long/too many times.
    - Has crashed on PS4 a few times. It can happen.
    - NPC's don't really feel alive. Needs more compelling A.I.

    Don't really have much more to say. I played this game around a year ago so I am only reviewing what I remember. I mainly have good memories on this game. I suggest you buy it if you are interested!    … Expand

    I don't believe this game should get bashed like it is. No, it is not as good as previous games. New Vegas and Fallout 3 were insane games that will go in the books for some of the best games ever created. But there isn't another game like the Fallouts, they're so unique they need to be given credit. Id give this game an 8 but with the dlcs I give it a 9.

    honestly i am quite happy with how fallout 4 turned out and i invested quite a lot of time into the game. I have zero regrets and i personally had a great experience, each of the factions were different in its own way, and i sunk into the experience of surviving the ruins of Boston.     I played this game at launch, but never got around to doing a review. It was actually my first fall out game. The story was ok, but it was the exploring, collecting, and looting that I really enjoyed. It took me a bit to get used to the combat system, but once I did I found it unique and enjoyed it.     Long and interesting storyline. Nice characters nice humour. Expansive character development. World feels a bit too artificial and compact. Graphics and animations are not that good. Bugs are still here though not so bad as previous Bethesda games.

    Fallout 4 is divisive among fans, and I can understand why. While the story is interesting enough, the dialogue suffers due to the flat performance of the protagonist's voice actor (I played as a male, not sure about female performance) and the lack of depth to conversation options. The game effectively tries to be Mass Effect and it isn't very good at it. Fallout 3 seemed to have a conversation option for every kind of player in every kind of situation. Fallout 4 gives vague commands that result in the protagonist saying things that you never intended for them to say. These commands are are basically always the same: Positive response, negative response, sarcastic response, or request more info. The quality of conversation suffers as a result.

    Fallout 4 also eschews some of the traditional mechanics of the series. Gone is the karma system, stat allocation, and equipment degradation of previous titles. While I enjoyed the new perk tree system and didn't really miss the karma factor, I was disappointed that repairing equipment was removed. In a post-apocalyptic game with a focus on crafting and scavenging, this seemed like a no-brainer, as it really adds a level of depth to the immersion. I would have at least appreciated an option to turn it on or off.

    Settlements are another huge new addition to the series, but the system has a lukewarm implementation. It's truly addictive to upgrade a settlement and watch it grow. I've spent much more time on settlements than I ever thought I would. However, the system makes demands of the player a la The Sims. You seemingly are always being tasked to go build a new one, although you are free to ignore these quests if you like. The trouble comes from your need to manage the resources and happiness of each settlement, which can be annoying. More so is the fact that any settlement can come under attack at any time, and if you don't respond in a timely manner, the settlement suffers damage and the happiness of the inhabitants goes down. You may be on an important quest halfway across the map, unwilling or unable to simply drop what you're doing to help. More importantly, defense rating is a factor. Why did I build 10 turrets for a tiny farm if they can't old off a gang of half a dozen raiders? It makes no sense.

    These are the largest criticisms I've seen leveled at the game, and they're all valid. However, I don't think they detract enough from the experience to stop it from being good. The rest of the game is pure Fallout. You wander off into a huge wasteland loaded with a nearly endless amount of places to see, characters to meet, quests to undertake, items to scavenge, and fun to be had. The tried and true Bethesda method of having something new and exciting every 5 feet to distract you from what you were previously doing remains strong in Fallout 4. This is a game that's very easy to get lost in.

    Improvements have also been made to combat and weapon customization. While it doesn't handle nearly as smoothly as a Call of Duty game, Fallout 4 has solid shooting mechanics that allow you to play it more like an FPS if you want to. A lot of my experience with the game was playing it like a shooter and only utilizing VATS (the series' famous targeting menu) when I needed it. Weapons also allow for a variety of customization options and although many of the upgrades feel same-y after a while, it still allows for diversity and progression in your arsenal, especially when you get into special weapons with unique perks.

    Scavenging and crafting are also a key focal point of the game, and thanks to the upgrade system, new approach to power armor, and settlement building, almost everything you collect will end up being useful in some form. Sometimes the most significant thing you'll find in a location isn't a new weapon or armor piece, but a hefty supply of a specific material you desperately need. For me, scavenging became a meticulous and addictive process that provided a meaningful feedback loop.

    Fallout 4's graphics have been criticized, but I never understood why. I never expected Uncharted levels of quality, and given the appearance of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, the visuals here are a significant upgrade, in my opinion.

    While I don't enjoy Fallout 4 quite as much as I did Fallout 3, I still think it's a great game that's provided me with a ton of genuine enjoyment. What it gets wrong isn't enough to take away from what it does right. After all, Dogmeat can't die in this one, and that's worth something. If you liked the previous games, you may feel like there's a few things missing from this one, but I'm willing to wager that you'll still have a great time wandering the wasteland of Boston    … Expand

    I finally got around to playing fallout 4 for the 1st time. Its a great game. Some say the graphics aren't great but they have an unique style to them. And playing the game with some good visual mods installed, it looks even better. There are so many good side quests & of course with a compelling main story.     I loved FO4 , at first I wasnt into it because I tried to play it like FO3. Once I got into the camp management, base building and crafting I was hooked for over 100 hours.

    Overall I found it a great game but not a masterpiece and I will tell you why.

    When the game starts you are slowly eased in to the mechanics of the game. You pick your name and various stats which if you know nothing about the game can make it a difficult start.
    From the beginning if you are not paying attention to the story you can miss out a lot on what the plot is about but the game does a good job in reminding you on why you are scouring the wasteland.

    One you get past the ''Tutorial'' you are left to fend for yourself in the open world, Luckily you have your trusted pip boy with you which is your Stat, Quest, Inventory guide and many more options.
    There is also base building which is not crucial and can be avoided until a certain part in the quest line which you will be forced to create structures. Personally the base building feature is majority of the fun.

    The game does tell you where to go but after completing the first 2 main quests there is a big jump between 2nd and the 3rd which you will need to level up to survive. On the way to the 3rd quest various locations can be unlocked which will become fast travel points.

    There is a difficulty which turns fast travel off but I will not be covering this in the review

    Once you get past the 3rd, 4th and finally the 5th quest you will see and hear of various factions popping up around the world. This is where you will use your own mind to decide which faction you think does the right thing and which you will have to join. Once you join one the 3 factions (Excluding minutemen) you will not be allowed to join another and will have to finish the game with them and the subsequent DLCS. You can do a few quests for each faction to get a feel for them and their values, the game does a good job in explaining what will happen once you join the faction.

    Certain areas of the game will cause a drop in frame rates, mainly down the southeast area of the map which is heavily populated. Mods can also be used on this game however I noticed that mods cause lag for me and blue error screens start popping up frequently with mod use.
    If these issues were sorted with error screens I would have given this game a 10/10. I am starting to believe my community when they say Bethesda is filled with bugs.    … Expand

    Fallout 4 leans to the Shooting side of things. It strips down the gameplay from the actual RPG elements and offers a meta-nuclaer shooting gallery which of course keep its charm and gameplay wealth but also feels a little too friendly for the new comers. The Base builder mode is unnecessary, boring and irritating. Unfortunately, overall, there are no steps forward for this Nuclear Holocaust Behemoth of the video games industry. Only steps sideways.
