    This was in no way a game worth $60. I waited until the special edition was down to $18 and picked it up. I have to say, it was a very pleasant surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The story is decent enough. The gameplay is tight and enjoyable, although it might be a bit repetitive. The challenges are varied and trying to accomplish all the primary and secondary objectives makes forThis was in no way a game worth $60. The voice acting is quite good, the animated cut scenes are great for a change of pace and the other conversation pieces are fun too. The best part of this game, by far, is the art style in the gameplay parts. It's flat out beautiful, and makes the whole game more enjoyable. While I certainly understand other peoples disappointment with this game (especially at a $60 price tag) and get that this is not a game for everyone, it very much is for me.… Expand

    Great art direction and smooth combat show a desire to do well. Although the overall lack of control and the redundant experience can't save Extinction.

    By turns mildly irritating and laceratingly dull, Extinction is a hopeless mess with one of the worst third-person cameras you'll ever encounter. Give it a miss, eh? [June 2018, p.86]
