Apr 10, 2018Extinction is solely based on a good idea, but fails to entertain due to the game structure and the algorithms for procedural content generation. The story is poorly narrated and feels out of focus during the missions.
-
Apr 10, 2018Extinction is a rather unpretentious blend of Shadow of the Colossus, Assassin’s Creed and God of War. There's some parkour action, some humans to rescue and many giant monsters to decapitate. The main quest is pretty thin, gameplay and story wise, and you'll end up enjoying the various and challenging secondary objectives of every mission much more.

Apr 9, 2018This dizzy dance of frustration and elation perfectly encapsulates my time with Extinction. I loved the feeling of annihilating the Ravenii. Mastering the slow-motion rune strikes meant I could bounce from limb to limb, disintegrating armor and severing limbs with reckless abandon. Yet I was stonewalled by the combat controls and the camera more often than I could ultimately reconcile.
-
Apr 10, 2018An exciting mix of genres and references that is not capable of maintaining that excitement and becomes boring too quickly.
-
Apr 23, 2018Extinction is basically a simple stylish action with some new interesting ideas. The lore seems stolen from the anime “Attack on Titans” with ogres instead of giants in the shape of humans. Even if the intentions are good, the camera the worst enemy to face and the climbing system is far away from perfection. Take this game in consideration only if you are a stainless fan of action games.
-
Apr 10, 2018An enjoyable collection of mechanics that are let down by the repetitive nature inherent in the game itself. If you enjoy the first couple of levels then you could play for years but if you don't find it the most riveting thing ever it will probably lose you long before the campaign is done.
-
Apr 9, 2018A good idea (albeit not very original) that doesn't feel as good because of imprecise controls, a camera that constantly gets in the way and a gameplay system that becomes repetitive too son. If this doesn't bother you too much and if you've been looking for an action game that puts you against giant orcs, then Extinction will not disappoint you.
-
Apr 9, 2018Extinction had the potential to be something special, but a few too many flaws and frustrations hold it back from true greatness. Despite that, we still think this adventure of epic proportions is very much worth a purchase if the grand scale even slightly grabs your interest.
-
Apr 9, 2018Extinction is just too simple of a game to justify its price tag and didn’t hold my interest for the entirety of the campaign or its side activities—which include time trials, your everyday horde mode, and basic multiplayer functionality.
-
Apr 9, 2018Extinction is a good blueprint for a more interesting game.
-
Apr 27, 2018Extinction Day isn’t worth celebrating, while the game attempts to be ambitious, fails to deliver for Iron Galaxy. It’s just a little too repetitive to hold one’s attention. The 60 dollar price point is extremely hard to swallow given it is a new unproven IP, although I’m not even sure if a lower price point would make the game a more attractive offering.
-
Apr 15, 2018If the base concept of Extinction is quite trendy at the moment (climbing on giants and slicing everything), the game fails in most respects with a highly repetitive gameplay, an empty story and no really memorable game mode.
-
Apr 11, 2018A really boring game with few valuable features. Some ideas are pretty good, even if not really original, but Extintion can't stand on your console for more than one hour before deplenishing all its fun. A foolish marketing choice to price it at 60 euros, even on PC.
-
Apr 10, 2018Extinction’s story and some repetitiveness do ultimately let the package down as a whole, but I am glad to see Iron Galaxy tried tackle a different idea outside of their comfort zone, even if it didn’t pan out entirely.
-
Jun 3, 2018Great art direction and smooth combat show a desire to do well. Although the overall lack of control and the redundant experience can't save Extinction.
-
Apr 18, 2018Extinction lacks a significant amount of execution and polish that could've seen an enjoyable game come to fruition. As it stands, you have a traversal system that doesn't have the environments on hand to really flow. Mission design starts to feel repetitive and, whilst you can find moments of joy in Extinction, it all feels smothered by design choices that don't gel.
-
Apr 10, 2018Extinction is a game that has large ambitions, but fails to be as exciting as it could have been. The Revanii look imposing, but are less threatening than the smaller enemies that accompany them, and with a mixture of lacklustre storytelling, repetitive action and some technical issues, Extinction end up a remarkably average title.
-
Apr 10, 2018Extinction is good when it comes to controls, but after a few hours of doing the same thing over and over again, boredom kicks in. Seeing as the other three modes are pretty much the same, we can state we are highly disappointed by this game.
-
Apr 10, 2018Extinction is promising, but it gets boring way too soon. Behind an interesting concept there is repetitive experience that could've been so much more.
-
Apr 10, 2018While the premises were good enough, Extinction fails to take a few steps further. Every giant slayed in the game feels exactly the same as the one you met before - and there is not much else to do in the game.

Apr 11, 2018This is an absolute horror show of a game and I cannot recommend anybody buy it or even accept it for free. Sod this Attack on Titan ripoff.
