    Elex was a tricky one to score.
    I actually wanted to give it a 9.5, not a perfect 10, but since I can't, I'll go with a 10 ... after debating 'tween 9 & 10, that is.
    Anyhow, there's more of a story to this. I would've given this a 6 back when I first tried it in 2018, but that changed a few years later, now having over 20 hours into it. Indeed. I'm finally taking this off my backlog in    Elex was a tricky one to score.
    I actually wanted to give it a 9.5, not a perfect 10, but since I can't, I'll go with a 10 ... after debating 'tween 9 & 10, that is.
    Anyhow, there's more of a story to this. I would've given this a 6 back when I first tried it in 2018, but that changed a few years later, now having over 20 hours into it. Indeed. I'm finally taking this off my backlog in 2020, which is rather large, and I'm glad I gave it a 2nd chance and stuck with it this time.

    Short story: I tampered with this a few years back, but died almost anywhere I went, so I got fed up & rage quit, put it aside with no plans to pick it back up. Then, sometime later, I remembered what Piranha Bytes games are like -- going from wimpy fragile boy to almost god-like – and that gamers either love PB or hate 'em for this, so I picked it back up with a better prepared, more opened mind, and now I can't put it down.

    So, at 1st I'll be a weakling. Then I'll endure. And then I'll "more" than endure.
    (but can still die easily with some of the bigger baddies).

    Yes, once I figured out that a Piranha Bytes protagonist is "supposed" to start off as a tin foil weakling, with no armor and a practical stick for a weapon, and then grow stronger gradually, the "like" hit me all at once. Now I LOVE "some" of PB's games, especially this one (this is the most polished one I've played yet, on home console, anyways). Moreover, after the later patches, fighting feels a bit tighter -- I like the weighty feel of Jax’s attacks with a heavier 1-handed axe, and the quicker ones with lighter 1-handed swords. Plus, AFTER you start a game, there are many more options in settings, for difficulty & otherwise (difficulty for enemies, difficulty for player, etc.).

    One thing I do like (that some say they don't), is the b-grade voice acting. I'm also drawn into how the story's unfolding, based on the differences between factions, feeding only bits of the story at a time. And I find exploration in this game amazing. The jet pack opens up MANY options & secrets.

    In closing, I'll only say that if you found this game too hard & frustrating in its opening hours, all I can say is stick with it & give it a try, because Piranha Bytes games are “supposed" to be a growing experience, so you just might end up loving it once you FINALLY earn armor. The fragile weakling character I started controlling at the beginning of the game is no longer fragile, and I could feel his strength growing gradually, and, thankfully, I still have many hours left to later take on the bigger, badder enemies. I find this more rewarding than most RPG's progression, in fact.

    EDIT 2 weeks later:

    Now having finished this game, I can say that the story kept me captivated, and at the end left off at a good spot. NOW I'm intrigued for the sequel.
    I can also say that this is the best game P.B. have done thus far. There's only a couple of things that irked me during battles till I changed the settings. One thing that makes life easier during battles is to TURN OFF FOCUS (lock on) in settings, and switch it to Manual. Then you'll just have to remember to face the enemy you want to attack. Makes life easier. And if you hit the attack button 3 times, he won't stop attacking till after the 3 times are over. Once gotten used to, it's awesome.
    I'll easily give this game a 9.5. Can't wait for Elex 2.    … Expand

    Elex is good. Not every game can offer you so many options.
    This game is too hard for casuls, if you are trying to play it with one hand, while holding beer in another one, it won't work.
    Git gud or don't touch it.

    By far the most interesting RPG released on the PS4, original, fun to explore, the world of Elex is fascinating just make sure you get yourself some good armour.

    Clearly this game isn't for everybody but I like it and like it a lot. One of the best RPGs I've played and I've playd my share of them.

    Piranha Bytes rpg, I love them keep them coming!!
    This is like an old shop in your neighbourhood that you love since you were a child, but probably will seem outdated to your children. It is a classic PB Rpg with it's deep atmosphere, challenging and addictive gameplay and share of faults and glitches.
    Fans of PB games will love it, and it is an authentic experience that you can't find    Piranha Bytes rpg, I love them keep them coming!!
    This is like an old shop in your neighbourhood that you love since you were a child, but probably will seem outdated to your children. It is a classic PB Rpg with it's deep atmosphere, challenging and addictive gameplay and share of faults and glitches.
    Fans of PB games will love it, and it is an authentic experience that you can't find anymore, even in rebooted old games.
    Other gamers will find it much less appealing, like watching a good 80's action flick.

    Awesome factions, story, dialogues, characters, world, exploration, climate, soundtrack and quests.. Not so good fight, animation and graphics. I recommend to everybody who likes great stories.

    I honestly can't understand these low scores. Elex is a solid game. It's not as polished in a few areas as one might want but it has character, good atmosphere and the game play is just fine. Some of the movements can sometimes be a bit hitchy, like falling, but it's not terrible. Most of the movements are smooth. Music is good and though the voice acting isn't perfect its more thanI honestly can't understand these low scores. Elex is a solid game.     As a veteran fan of the Gothic Series & and Risen 1 (disliked Risen 2&3) - I had high expectations for Elex. As PB messed up the console versions of Risen, I was curious, if they meet the standards for a PS4 Version of Elex.
    The graphics can't compete with a AAA game of nowadays, but as I'm more the 'older generation' of players, graphics aren't that important to me than atmosphere &    As a veteran fan of the Gothic Series & and Risen 1 (disliked Risen 2&3) - I had high expectations for Elex.     The graphics are somewhat ~ 2011 / Skyrim-Level (on it's release version, w/o mods). The sounds are well, but from time to time clunky.
    But as I said before - and as it is a user's review - I lay my focus on story, atmosphere and 'how the game feels to me" - that's why I gave a 9 out of 10. I'm having so much fun playing the game, influencing the story by the decisions I make, exploring the world, watching the people f.e. in Goliet doing their daily business.
    So if you're a fan of open world games and in particular of the Gothic Series, owning a PS4 PRo (i didn't experienced any fps drops there): I'd buy it! :-)    … Expand

    Great game. Amazing open world, not sure what all 0 scores are talking about, seen one or two glitches but no huge bugs. Not a very hard game. When i went through the first city i was sold! More immersive than skyrim, better quests, etc

    I'm glad they're still making good RPG's. They are a tiny dev team of 25.

    Is it a good combat game? Possibly not. If you are looking for that; you may be disappointed. Some of us can simply ignore the wonky combat and animations and play the game for it's freedom, reward system, writing, humor and old school feel. PROS: - Writing - Reward (Very hard start) - Compelling    I'm glad they're still making good RPG's. They are a tiny dev team of 25.

    - Freedom (Entire world explorable lvl 1, albeit monsters are tough.)
    - Difficulty (For me this is a PLUS)
    - Rewarding when you get good at the bad combat
    - Story

    CONS:
    - Animations
    - English voice acting
    - Combat (Clunky, older styled slow paced parry/dodge fest)
    - Bugs (What huge RPG doesnt have em?)
    - Zero customization
    - Lack of "Loot". There isn't a lot.
    - UI

    For what it lacks in polish it gives back in story, nostalgia, writing, and general role-playing experience. If you can get past the old school RPG feel (or even enjoy that) then you're in for a fun surprise. It won't be GOTY, but it's a nice refresher.    … Expand

    Fani Gothica i Risen znajdą w tej grze najlepsze jak i najgorsze cechy wcześniejszych produkcji PB, ale co z tego, skoro gra wciąga jak bagno? Faktycznie nie jest to ideał, ale nie za to Gothic 1 ma do dziś fanów i zapaleńców a ta gra może być własnie takim "nowy" Gothiciem :)

    Il gioco sarebbe divertente se si riuscisse ad equilibrare le abilità dell' alter ego dal momento che queste risultano essere insufficienti rispetto alla forza dei nemici. Inoltre è complicato esplorare l'ambiente circostante a causa dei nemici troppo forti che rendono impossibile il volersi unire alle fazioni di interesse per poter vivere l'evolversi della storia del gioco.

    Начну пожалуй с самой игры
    В самом начале когда вы начинаете идти по квесту,вы ощущаете те самые моменты,когда ты вливаешся в эту самую атмосферу,да да
    Так же,как по мне,по настройкам,хоть даже на низко-средних приятнее играть(у меня все на макс.мне не понять этого xdd)
    Ну и еще,как вы все прекрасно знаете,карта в 1.5 больше чем в 3 части,а это значит готовьте свои булки и нервы,ибо в таком хардкоре придется бегать пешочком(Да,да,телепорты все дела,но в начале вы х** че найдете,да спасибо)
    Советую просто,даже без всяких вопрос идти,и покупать эт божество

    Elex is a typical Piranha Bytes game with all their strenghts and weaknesses. It might lack polish and might not look up-to-date, but after a while it opens up and you can experience an unique open world like only Piranha Bytes can create them... ;)

    Игра стоит своих денег. Графика может и не очень хорошая , но окружающий мир великолепный. Интерфейс не из лучших , можно было сделать и получше. Очень напоминает Готику 2 , особенно паладина Лотара который говорит Ты да же не гражданин , а в Elex говорят ты даже не земледелец ))).Игра стоит своих денег.     As far as I am concerned this is the true sequel to Gothic I and Gothic II.

    From what I have played the atmosphere is amazing,the factions seem to be pretty good and the skills system is deep as well. This is one of those games that mainstream reviewers will never "get" so to speak so the Metacritic rating is basically useless. But for people that played the original Gothic games    As far as I am concerned this is the true sequel to Gothic I and Gothic II.

    From what I have played the atmosphere is amazing,the factions seem to be pretty good and the skills system is deep as well.

    This is one of those games that mainstream reviewers will never "get" so to speak so the Metacritic rating is basically useless.

    But for people that played the original Gothic games this is amazing.

    Nicht umsonst hat ELEX den Gold Award von der Gamestar bekommen. Ein absolut würdiger Nachfolger der Gothic Reihe bei dem PB wirklich alles richtig macht. Coole Dialoge, die im Deutschen wahrscheinlich deutlich besser sind als in der englischen Übersetzung und ein harscher, aber nicht unsympatischer Hauptcharakter. Das Kampfsystem, die Animationen und    Ein Spiel, wie es sein muss.

    Nicht umsonst hat ELEX den Gold Award von der Gamestar bekommen. Ein absolut würdiger Nachfolger der Gothic Reihe bei dem PB wirklich alles richtig macht.

    Coole Dialoge, die im Deutschen wahrscheinlich deutlich besser sind als in der englischen Übersetzung und ein harscher, aber nicht unsympatischer Hauptcharakter.

    Das Kampfsystem, die Animationen und die Grafik sind sind superkrass up to date und aufpoliert bis man sich daran blendet, nein, es ist ein solides Spiel, so wie man es von PB erwartet.

    Wer noch unentschieden ist, kann gerne Dienstags und Donnerstag bei uns auf dem Kanal vorbeischauen, dann gibt's immer einen mehrstündigen Stream, der sicherlich eine Menge vom wirklichen Herz des Spiels offenbart.    … Expand

    Z początku miałem mieszane uczucia co do tej gierki, ale już wcześniej domyślałem się z czym się mierzę. Grałem w Gothic'a wszystkie części, Risena tylko jedynkę bo kolejnych odsłon nie mogłem strawić i już myślałem ,że na dobre ten Risen 3 ich pogrzebie. Ale Elex daje radę, brakowało mi ich jakiejś nowej dobrej produkcji od czasu jak tylko wyszedł Zmierzch Bugów do tego ta Arcania dobiłaZ początku miałem mieszane uczucia co do tej gierki, ale już wcześniej domyślałem się z czym się mierzę.     Und für alle die wegen dem Kampfsystem rumheulen, ich hab mich dazu entschieden Elex auf schwer zu spielen. Und ja man kriegt am Anfang viel aufs Maul und muss auch viele viele Gegner umlaufen um erste Quests fertig zu kriegen und XP zu sammeln. Allerdings wird man recht schnell stärker und kann schon früh Ausdauer skillen sowie eine    Ich liebe es. Welt geil, Grafik ok, Quests gut.

    Und für alle die wegen dem Kampfsystem rumheulen, ich hab mich dazu entschieden Elex auf schwer zu spielen. Und ja man kriegt am Anfang viel aufs Maul und muss auch viele viele Gegner umlaufen um erste Quests fertig zu kriegen und XP zu sammeln. Allerdings wird man recht schnell stärker und kann schon früh Ausdauer skillen sowie eine (Jäger)Rüstung kaufen. Dazu ein ordentliches Beil und schnell den Begleiter Duras klar gemacht und man kann sich mit vielem in der Welt anlegen. Die Art und Weise in der man immer stärker wird fühlt sich wunderbar belohnend an.

    Und ganz ehrlich, ich finds geil wenn ich noch die 2 Spinnen mit zum Alb Trupp locken muss damit sich eine größere Schägerei zwischen allen Entwickelt und ich versuchen kann einen nach dem anderen in dem Chaos zu erledigen.    … Expand

    Although this game might be a bit "oldschool" it creates an intense atmosphere with great dialogues and a dynamic story. I recommend this game for fans of classical RPGs.

    Playing Elex and the older PB gams is like joining a D&D , DSA or other Pen and Paper group without actually knowing what you're getting into...took me several restarts to finally have a build that makes the early game with all the "run there and talk your self through it" quests a little easier. And    For anyone who played the Bethesda "RPGs" (Fallout, Skyrim etc.) and similar games:

    Playing Elex and the older PB gams is like joining a D&D , DSA or other Pen and Paper group without actually knowing what you're getting into...took me several restarts to finally have a build that makes the early game with all the "run there and talk your self through it" quests a little easier.

    And yes it's not comparable with any AAA title the industry throws at you with their high end budget.
    Despite the fact that the UI and Combat is very very clunky and old school i like this game for the various quest choices and rewards it gives you so u have that nostalgic feeling the Gothic series gave you. (including the various Bugs and broken game machanics lol)

    I will be looking forward to play this game as a high personality craftsman thief as this is a very good way to earn Elexit
    until i can afford all the stuff and upgrades to actually make me stronger. (stealing weapons and stuff outside containers doesnt even require any skill whatsover just dont get caught and you'll have some pretty nice weapons you will be looking forward to skill)
    I can also strongly recommend to get a companion and upgrade the group skill as progressing through the first Edan quests as it will make your life a little easier.

    I know the release version of Elex is buggy as hell (freezing bow while doing a side roll, camera, cutscenes etc.) and not everybody will like the fact that leveling up and getting stronger is actually a darn piece of work, but i think if PB is listening to the community and actually getting♥♥♥♥♥♥done to make this a little more playable (just downloaded a first update) this game will be a nice alternative to the "get exp thrown at like money in a stripclub" games out there.

    Conclusion:

    YES its a non AAA title from a german developer and
    YES the game is hard and doesnt really appeal to people new to the series, but if you bite your way through it without getting yourself devoured by it it's really not that bad.

    Two things you need to enjoy the game. The first is the time it takes to get into the game and level up, I am 22 hours in and I am enjoying the trip. The second is to understand what you are in for, this is not a hand holding over powered at level one walking simulator. Be ready to learn how to ovoid, outrun, and trick opponents for a good portion of the time, as you will die trying to see how to overcome puzzles. This is not kill small creatures focused leveling game like most RPGs, actually trying to level by killing things in the early game would be slow to futile. Like any game learn how the leveling system works, luckily in this game there are not truly bad choices for the early game, as sneaking and running around for task is the name of the game and few skills will help you in the early game. The game is an AA title, the voice acting will not win awards. But there is allot of script within the game and it is not a bad. I am not done with the game but I am enjoying it and would recommend for those that like RPGs.… Expand

    It's a very good game. I loved all the Piranha Bytes games, but this is the best till now. It sets up a sequel pretty well, and overall I found it exciting and full of adventure. It's a great game for sure, and I would recommend it to anyone!

    Classic PB game in the vein of Gothic. They've improved a lot of their systems, but I wouldn't expect anything ground breaking or new in the term of open world RPGs. It is a solid, relatively well put together game with a decent story and a strong difficulty level.

    Для тех кто знаком с 1-2 Готикой от пираний, недолжно вставать даже вопроса играть или нет.
    Ибо Еlex это игра с той самой атмосферой+интересным миром.
    Однозначный респект ребятам за возвожность вернутся в детсво)))

Да, есть косяки, как сюжетные, так и технические, но все равно это лучшая РПГ за последние годы! Диалоги, влияние героя на мир и на происходящие в нем, стремный, но интересный арсенал, сюжет который затягивает!     il gioco verrà sicuramente aggiornato e rifinito nel tempo, ma già dal dayone dico che questo è il miglior gdr 3d in terza persona dopo Witcher 3, sicuramente con aggiornamenti e patch verrà ulteriormente rifinito e migliorato,se vi piacciono i gdr seri e non vi fate pippe mentali inutili questo è, e sarà un gran gioco, poi chiaramente fate come vi pare.

Glücklicherweise wusste ich aber worauf ich mich einlasse und nutze direkt nur Fernkampfwaffen aber auch das geht nur mäßig. Die Monster sind stark, alle. Jedes Levelup ist schwer verdient.

    Und dort greift einem das Spiel. Es fühlt sich unheimlich befriedigend an all diese Hürden zu überwinden und mit jedem noch so kleinen Schritt stärker zu werden. Ich kann mit dieser Art eigl nichts anfangen aber Elex hat mich trotz seiner Schwächen einfach gefangen und ich kann behaupten das hat lange kein Spiel mehr geschafft, unglaublich.

    Also einfach Geschmackssache, aber mein weiß nich was einen erwartet bis man es getestet hat. Auf jedenfall daumen nach oben für mich!    … Expand

The only obstacle are the enemies that you will not be able to take on, but all it takes is clever use of terrain to get around them and where you want to go.

    -While your choices are limited, they actually mean something. Many of them aren't just black and white, either; there will be grey area that will make you stop and weigh the consequences. Even some of the smallest actions and mundane tasks can be the first domino falling in a chain of events caused by your choice to turn a small profit fetching something.

    -Quests are actually pretty varied. There are still fetch quests and the like, but there won't be 7 different fetch quests from one place. The differing factions and their ideologies plays a big part in what you'll be doing, as well; the order in which you do quests can impact other quests pretty dramatically, too. If you aren't afraid of trying something new in subsequent playthroughs you will get a very different perspective on the world.

    -There's an actual sense of progression. How you level matters. The world is a harsh place, and the main character's life spent relying on Elex for any semblance of strength is over when you first begin. You are supposed to be weak. You get stronger. You develop new skills. You forge a place for yourself and slowly but surely become more and more capable. Small victories from rotboars and hasty retreats from a single reaver will turn into assaulting strongholds, obliterating mechs, and clearing entire groups of well equipped enemies without too much trouble.

    -Vastly different playstyles. It may seem really odd to have swords and bows in a world of magic, guns, and sci fi plasma weaponry and assault suits and jets, but a comet full of a resource of unlimited power is an odd occurance, indeed, isn't it? You'll start off just surviving with a rusty axe, but there are plenty of ways to go. Craft your way to victory with potions and chems, dominate through technological superiority, run around incinerating everything-- you're sure to find something you like.

    -Enemy spawns. Nothing just teleports into existence from my experience. It never feels like there's some random bush producing an endless supply of bandits. A cleared area stays cleared for a long while, and you'll most likely come back to different residents anyway. There is no real area scaling; you'll run into runt tier enemies at level 50 that die faster than you ever did starting out, and you'll run into something you'll have no choice but to retreat from early on. It makes the world feel organic, rather than a case of "Oh, you got an ebony sword! Time to replace all the common bandits with super advanced variants for no reason other than you happened to find such a sword."

    -The cities and towns. They are pretty much the perfect size. There are well placed NPCs mingling with generic faces; none of them feel too small, like in a Bethesda game where a major capital city only has 6 houses, and none of them are impossibly huge and full of nobody important, either. Many of them are interesting and fun to explore.There aren't a lot of them that just stand around all day, and those that do are often named and looked down upon by their respective communities. It's a shame that most of the conversations you'll overhear don't back this up too well, though.

    -The world is vast and interesting, full of opportunity, but it's not so crowded either. It strikes a good balance between things to do and so much to do that none of it feels special or worthwhile.    … Expand

    In all aspects of this game its mediocre at best. Judging by my play time I just can't get enough. I feel the heart of PB in this game. I know that compared to many games it sucks but damn that heart is so big and trying! Thank you PB for your hard work! Take the criticism, build on it and make Elex 2 the best game you can!

    - Le melange des univers est plutot bien pensé. Mélanger des chevaliers en armure et épée, des pillard de MadMax et les Clercs du futur (armures et armes à la Mass Effect) peut paraitre surprenant, mais l'histoire du monde arrive à souder et expliquer le tout.

    - Progression des caractéristiques (force, dext, int...) à chaque niveau, mais compétence (récupération de trophés sur les animaux, spécialiste CaC, etc) se débloquent auprès d'un "maitre" de la compétence.

    - Equipement utilisable sous condition de caractéristiques (exemple 30 en force et 40 en dext), frustrant car on peut tomber sur une super arme qui ne sera utilisable que dans plusieurs niveaux, MAIS ça empêche d'avoir une arme surpuissante dès le début (donc pas de chasse au lapin à coup de lance grenade^^)

    - Multiples façons de résoudre une même quête, plusieurs quêtes se croisent et ont parfois des fin inverses.
    Certainent impactent l'histoire, d'autre seulement la faction, ou encore le personnage qui vous l'a confié, ou celui qui est la cible de la quête.
    Il n'est pas rare de voir après un choix "XXXXX s'en souviendra" ou encore "XXXXX n'aime pas cela"

    Je n'en suis qu'a une vingtaine d'heures, mais je me régale depuis le debut, ça faisait très longtemps que je n'avais pas accroché comme ça.

    Alors oui graphiquement il pourrait être mieux, mais ça reste très jolie sans être exceptionnel (en 3440x1400 Ultra).

    Mais je préfère très largement des graphismes en dessous de certain jeux AAA mais une profondeur supérieure.

    Je trouve très décevant les critiques des magazines ou sites de jeux video qui vont le comparer à des jeux avec des budget dix fois plus gros.
    De plus, certains jeux AAA ont eu des points négatifs plus important dans les résumés de ces même sites mais la note était toujours plutot bonne, alors que pour Elex je les trouve beaucoup moins sympa.    … Expand

Starting out scared and running away from overgrown chickens to becoming a lord of battle. once you get the jet pack attack you will carve any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. You really get the feeling you have acheived somthing. I lose sleep just to get a chance to dive into thisHands down one of the best RPG's ever created.     Best game ever! Wait till you reach higher level's meaning level 8 or so. Nothing like having a sword,shield than switch to gernades or a bow than toss some spells into the mix. Freaking great!

You have to be careful where you explore because, like a real wilderness, there are birds and bears depending on the part of the forest you walk.

    You can go old school sword and bow spellcaster or high tech energy weapons psychic.    Plays like Gothic and Gothic 2 without the bugs and exploits. The game doesent hold your hand, you have to take your time and pay attention on your quests. You have to be careful where you explore because, like a real wilderness, there are birds and bears depending on the part of the forest you walk.

    You can go old school sword and bow spellcaster or high tech energy weapons psychic. The game progression is slow which I love. It's going to be easy to get 100+ hours out of this one.    … Expand

    An excellent RPG overall. A very fun and engaging experience with a lot of heart and soul. A complete and beautiful game.

    +Three interesting Factions, each with their own lore and styles of combat (Magic, Guns, Bows, Melee) that add greatly to replayability
    +Excellent implementation of verticality with the Jetpack. A fun, easy to control and to handle way to get around, escape from encounters, find hidden loot and bypass pesky guards.
    +Engaging and fun lore. Lots of side lore that can be found as loot in journals and recordings adds meat and depth to the world.
    +Decisions will affect the ending, which is satisfying and extensive for all major characters. The best story of any Piranha Bytes game ever.
    +Character Models, movement, faces, and conversation environment vastly improved over past Piranha Bytes games.
    +It's not clunky, junky, ugly, or messy at all, in my opinion. Graphics are beautiful and only slightly dated, and controls are just fine.
    +Soundtrack is excellent, and voice acting is not bad at all. Sound effects are also okay.
    +Largely bug-free. Any bugs I spotted were few, negligible and certainly not game-breaking.

    Cons:
    -Merciless at the beginning of your first playthrough. Will require patience for the first few hours of gameplay.
    -Melee combat could use a better tutorial. It's not buggy or broken. It's just not explained properly.
    -A few balancing issues between combat paths. Certain faction-combat style combinations can make the game a cakewalk, at least on lower difficulties.    … Expand

    Tato hra mi velice překvapila, poprvý jsem si říkal co je to za blbost, takhle kombinovat magii a post-apokaliptický svět. Přišlo mi to jako hloupý nápad a ukázky mě taky moc neoslnili, ale moje zvědavost byla větší, takže jsem si hru koupil. Ihned po spuštění mě překvapila čeština, což jsem tedy nečekal.     Bojový systém by chtěl asi vylepšit je to takový no... I po 16ti hodinách mi to moc nesedí, ale neříkám že někomu to sedět nebude, jen pro mě je to trochu nepohodlné. Taky bych měl výhrady k výbavě, protože přeci jen musíte dlouhou dobu běhat s jednou zbraní a zbrojí než se talenty posunete na něco lepšího, což je taky trochu otravné protože nepřátelé jsou čím dál silnější.
    V závěru musím říct že této hře jsem vůbec nevěřil ale po tom co jsem to zkusil musím říct že je to super hra, takže jen doporučuji.    … Expand

    Classic PB game in the vein of Gothic. They've improved a lot of their systems, but I wouldn't expect anything ground breaking or new in the term of open world RPGs. It is a solid, relatively well put together game with a decent story and a strong difficulty level.

    Piranie przez te wszystkie lata robią za każdym razem gry niemal identyczne i zawierające te same błędy...
    Fanom Gothica czy Risena polecam z czystym sumieniem reszcie pewnie nie przypadnie do gustu ta drewniana walka czy ogólnie same animacje...

    ps po niecałych trzech godzinach wpadł mi "acziwek" za 80 godzin gry...

    Wenn du falsche Antworten gibst, kriegst du auf die Schnauze. Wenn du scheiße gelevelt bist, kriegst du auf die Schnauze. Wenn du dich dumm anstellst beim Kämpfen, kriegst du auf die Schnauze. Die Atmosphäre des Spiels ist extrem gut gemacht und auch    Endlich wieder ein Rollenspiel, welches das typische Gothicfeeling mitbringt.

    Множество точек интереса никак не обозначенных на карте подстёгивает каждый раз осмотреть "вон тот домик и пора спать, а то уже 00:42" и ложиться только в 2:30.

    В общем и целом игра для тех кто любит искать, находить, разочаровываться, качаться и радоваться.    … Expand

И конечно же серией готикой, и ризоном - коеми ELEX является духовным наследием. Но Забавный парадокс до этого я ни сколько не интересовался игрой во время разработки и мне было пофигу чтоДля меня ЕLEX однозначно лучшая игра, и РПГ в частности. Но Забавный парадокс до этого я ни сколько не интересовался игрой во время разработки и мне было пофигу что там показывают, какой-то странный мир, сетинг будто смешали прошлое и будущие в одно. Что было очень не правельно так думать, даже не разобравшись в игре. Что же я это дело исправил и второго дня после релиза, был с головой погружен в мир Элекса. Описывать можно очень многое. Мир игры очень большой и красивый, можно на время забыть про сюжет, и просто наслаждаться великолепием лесов Эдана исследуя строения старого мира. Игра радует доп квестами в которых нередко мы должны принять чью-то сторону, хорошая она или плохая зависит только от ваших личных маральных качеств. Действуйте так считаете правильным вы, отстаивание своё мнение, темболие что сама игра обещает адекватно реагировать на ваши действия в будущем. Диалоги тоже не остались в стороне, они сдесь вполне себе годные а местами даже очень, (выделяются серьёзностью). Персонажи - есть тут разные, есть ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, негодяи, наивные мечтающие сделать мир лучше, а также крутые пафосные чуваки каторый тебя за одно непонравившиеся выражение зохотят замочить. А в самом игравом мире основалось три фракции со своим мировоззрением, и т д. NPC пытаются симулировать жизнь но до уровень суматохи даже сельской деревушки из ведьмака 3 всё же не дотягивает. Тут я скажу о компаньёнах, они есть но их проработка далека от совершенства и тут я подразумеваю Fallut nev wegas вспоминайте какие у них были жизненные диалоги, как у живых людей. И как мы добивались их преданности, вникая в их проблемы определяя их судьбу в дальнейшем. В ELEX каждый соратник сразу же готов тебе отдаться даже можно не повышать его уровень уважения что ничегошеньки не даст кроме пары добрых слов. Сними то особо и поболтать неочем. Но при этом у них есть свои квесты в ходе которых их можно передать и убить. И они каментируют мир вокруг себя по своему характеру. Идти с ними в бой очень полезно, пока противник занет отвешиванием люлей твоиму сопартийцу, у тебя есть классная возможность навалять этому противнику мощьную серию ударов в зад. А вот навьючит их разного рода хламом как мулов нельзя у ГГ неограниченный карман(всё токи это казуальность). Сдесь многие элементы игр старых школ сохранены или переделаны под соврименый уровень, но дух старины из начала 2000годов ощущается. За что огромное спасибо Пираньям. Удачи вам.… Expand

    Игра прекрасна своим окружением, но очень быстро начинаешь замечать, что погода всё время одна и та же, небо почти одинаковое, если вдруг в лесистой местности пойдёт дождик, то это будет мелкая морось иногда с практически ясного неба. Ни грозы, ни молнии, ни песчанных бурь в пустыне вы не найдёте.
    Монстры... тут тоже засада. Мало что есть различные версии одного и того же монстра, причём молодй/детёныш не отличается от взрослой особи внешне, так ещё для модели многих монстров одинаковые - каких-нибудь рогопса и шакала отличить не так просто. Ещё в игре есть разного рода большие крысы, падальщики из прошлых игр, ящерки и т.п. Чуть изменён дизайн и вуаля - новый вид.
    Неписи аналогично - одно дело безымянных "изгоев", "труженников" одинаковыми делать, но уж для именных персонажей можно было бы уникальную внешность подобрать.
    Ну и всякие мелочи вроде того, что течёт бурный поток, а вам идти/плыть хоть по течению, хоть против - всё равно.

    Это, конечно, атмосферу несколько ухудшает.
    Теперь что в игре есть хорошего - огромный открытый и разнообразный мир. И он действительно огромен и открыт - и не только вширь, но и вглубь и ввысь. Вполне можно случайно упасть в какую-то пещеру, полную разбойников и выбираться оттуда на тяге возможно не только реактивного ранца. Перепады рельефа очень радуют.
    Мир красивый, пейзажи живописные.
    Кто-то ругается, что мир пустой, но это не так: повсюду какие-то строения, тайники, дневники, записки, мини-истории и т.п. Думаю, что мир - одна из самых сильных сторон игры.
    Квесты действительно интересные. Постоянно нужно выбирать, информации для выбора очень мало, неписи охотно обманывают протагониста, выбор, сделанный где-то в начале, могут припомнить через многие часы игры.

    Итого, на самом деле - отличная игра, которая, тем не менее, на каждом шагу говорит - "у нас было мало денег, да и людей не так много....". Но скоро к этому привыкаешь и спокойно наслаждаешься игровым процессом.    … Expand

    Jocul merită banii. Este posibil ca grafica să nu fie bună, dar lumea din jur este magnifică. Interfața nu este cea mai bună, ați putea face mai bine. Este foarte asemănătoare cu cea a lui Gothic 2, în special paladinul lui Lothar, care spune că nu ești cetățean, dar în Elex nici măcar nu ești agricultor))).

    LOVE everything about consuming (playing) Elex :) apart from searching for new items in inventory. It would be much better if they appear at the top and after viewing were sorted alphabetically. The BEST Piranha game for now.

    Loved the game! The open world is great, exploration is so much fun! And there are almost no markers on the map (unlike e.g. Ubisoft games) which makes much fun to explore the world by myself instead of running from one map marker to another. The dialogues are great, the faction mechanics are great. The side quests are better than the main quest, but the main quest is still fun. TheLoved the game! The open world is great, exploration is so much fun! And there are almost no markers on the map (unlike e.g. Ubisoft games) which makes much fun to explore the world by myself instead of running from one map marker to another. Sure, the framerate gets quite horrific after extended amounts of play (about 3 hours in a row) and there are a few bugs and glitches here and there, but never has this detracted from the fun I've had. The game however does get a lot easier after just a few hours in and I had to turn up the difficulty. Story-wise the game is quite bland but what it does have in spades is character (and great characters!). From gathering a crew to building up your home base, reminded me of Mass Effect Andromeda but done better in my opinion (not on the level of previous Bioware games though). If you like Western RPGs such as Witcher 3 - and especially previous Piranha bytes games (although this is by far their best game in the last decade, up there with gothic series for me) - I'm absolutely certain you are gonna adore this game, even though it's a little janky here and there.… Expand

    the game made my weekend. i understand that people might be frustrated because of some bugs but i see that the publisher is reacting fast. i like the world and gameplay.

The developer, Piranha Bytes, develops games that places high difficulty at the beginning of it's games and expects players to be smart enough to figure out how to advance to where they will be stronger than their companions and it takes time, a lot of exploration, and quest completion to get to that point (about level 12 to 15).

    This is a well conceived game, with great world building and atmosphere, decent graphics and decent voice acting. The quest construction is amazingly well developed in that you can complete a quest if you happen upon it and can instantly complete it when you speak to the quest giver. In addition, your actions really have an impact on the world and what happens and how you are treated in future. It also has the world change at the end of the campaign and you can continue on in that altered reality - something most games don't do. When it tells you that a character will remember something or that you have changed the story, you really have and often it's not small.

    This game has few bugs (I had some loading issues when playing on PS5 via backward compatibility) but are not game breaking and yes the combat can be a bit wonky. One thing to note is that effectiveness of your companions is based on your relationship status to them - the better the relationship, the more effective the companion. It has some minor issues, but they really are minor.

    The economy is hard and forces you to make a lot of choices and forces you to refine your character so that you can afford the best gear once you join a faction.

    All in all, this is a great action adventure RPG but may not be for everyone. It sure is a hell of a lot better than the 4.9 IGN gave it. For me it's a solid 8 of 10. Looking forward to PB's Elex II this spring.    … Expand

    This is a giant open world rpg made by a small team of 25 people and in some areas it shows but if you are willing to invest a few hours look past it's rough edges there is a game that will win you over with it's heart.

    Yes, animations are, i woulds say, not as good as i hoped they will be.
    And yes, there are some technical issues but i think its a matter of time to patch it.
    Overall - i would like to give it a 7,5 score(or even 10 just for the sake of haters), but unfortunately there is no option to give half scores, so it gets 8 from me.
    I think that this is the game which you can hate or love, so there is no way to say if it's waste of money or not if you don't play it.

    The game feels kind of like skyrim with a jet pack. I would like to give it a higher score, but there ARE many bugs that hinder the game play, at some times quiet significantly, and the game is also plagued with frame rate drops, but I still find this game extremely fun to play and I feel (hope) that most of these bugs will be patched out soon (again, I hope).

    Definitely worth playing, but play with tempered expectations (it really doesnt feel finished and very much unpolished) and only if you feel you can accept a bugged game. If not, then just wait a few months until they patch out the issues (consider it in Beta for the moment)    … Expand

    Ok, it's glitchy, buggy, somehow even ugly... But i had a TON of fun with it. Played more than 50 hours. Got like 92% done till Platinium. And I'M NOT A GOTHIC FANBOY. never pleyed them. This was my first game from those guys.

    This game requires a bit of patience to begin with. This is a truly hand crafted world that rewards you for exploring. The story isn't ground breaking but keeps things moving. Combat system can be clunky but once mastered is acceptable. Great game, especially if you can pick it up on sale!

In Elex, you need to think before you do anything, and you need to always be on a lookout of safe spots in case you get chased by something you cannot kill or outrun. But with those in you mind, you CAN explore lot of the map even early on, so as to find quests to up your skills and stats.
    And its only by the very risky exploration that you can find all those, often cunningly hidden, villages and other spots that have quests for you to do...
    Luckily there is fast travel, so once you do find such locations, you can fast travel back and forth via teleports.
    Grinding is something you wont be doing much, as monsters do not yield much in the way of XP. Its mostly for resources that you hunt monsters, and for XP, you do missions. Although later on, when you are tougher, you can get more XP from killing some really nasty critters.
    Skill trees are a challenge. You pick wrong skill sets, you are in trouble. For in this game, with limited ammo and resources, you really, really need to focus on close combat and strong armor to survive. So, spending your skill points on lockpick, mining, hacking or whatever, will only leave you too weak to survive what is to come. So care must be taken there.
    Combat is not all that good, especially shooting. Limited ammo, so you really do not want to miss all the time! So, again, one more reason to focus on close combat, as then you will always hit something!
    But anyways, enough ranting from me. I give this 8/10 for the beautiful and atmospheric game world, and for the challenge. And for all the laughs. Solid game, but not for sunday gamers. Only true, hardened RPG fans need apply.    … Expand

    I love This game, propably becouse i’ve played gothic a lot. But that fps on PS4 Pro... Using map is very painfull (10 fps (literally)).

    Generally speaking I love Piranha Bytes games since Gothic, and this one is definitely among their best.

    My biggest problem with it is terrible performance on original PS4, FPS is not great to begin with, and suffers even more after about 1h of play, soI had to restart it once an hour.

    If not for this I’d happily give it a 9, but such technical problems really detract from the enjoyment.    … Expand

    Elex is the RPG game of the old era, made by the old guard for the old guard. It has a lot of charm and magic hidden inside its massive world but its clunky elements will probably prove to be a dealbreaker for newer gamers that didn’t grew up with the same issues that persist Piranha Bytes games since Gothic.
